Grand Beach Hotel - Tel Aviv

Das Garand Beach Hotel hat angeblich 4 Sterne, hiervon könnte man getrost 1-2 wegnehmen! Was nützen zwei Aufzüge, wenn einer am Shabbat geschlossen wird? 12 Etagen mit X zimmern = XXX Besucher, die alle zum Frühstück oder auschecken wollen! WiFi ist offen und völlig überlastet(nehmt doch wenigstens ein internes Passwort), vorallem strategisch sehr schlecht […] aufgebaut, kaum Signal udn wenig Durchsatz! Pool nur von 10-16Uhr nutzbar, aber gerade damit wird geworben!?! Ich konnte nicht vorm Frühstück schwimmen gehen, abends also auch nicht! Super, hatte mich so darauf gefreut! Alles in allem ist es recht heruntergekommen und lässt arg zu wünschen übrig! Nicht mit deutschen 4 Sternen vergleichbar! Unbedingt nachbessern und mehr Wert aufs Detail legen! Ein Strandhotel aus den 60er, 70er Jahren, spartanisch eingerichtet - dafür ordentlich geführt und sauber. Mobiliar und Ausstattung sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber in Schuss. Von der Lage her ist das Hotel sehr gut! Nur ein paar Schritte und man ist am alten Hafen mit ausgezeichneten Restaurants und Boutiquen. Obwohl wir ein Zimmer im 12. Stock erhielten, das auch schön ruhig mit toller Aussicht aufs Meer war, können wir dieses Hotel nur bedingt weiterempfehlen. Von der Reception über das Frühstückspersonal bis zu den Zimmermädchen: […] alle nicht geschult, unfreundlich und nicht Service-orientiert! Das Hotel (Zimmer und Frühstücksraum) wirkt nicht sonderlich gepflegt. Für junge Touristen durchaus zu empfehlen - aber alte Reisehasen gehen doch besser in eines der nahe gelegenen 4 bis 5 Sterne Hotels. Mehr

Wir waren im Allgemeinen zufrieden. Sehr empfehlenswert, moderate Preise, 10 min zu Fuss ins Zentrum, 5 min zum Strand. Taxis vor der Türe. Frühstück sensationell gut. Wir kommen wieder!

Das Grand beach Hotel trägt alle Merkmale eines 70er Jahre Kastens und ist entsprechend abgewetzt. Dies obwolh öfters Erneuerungen gemacht wurden. Die Lifte sind allerdings noch alt, sehr langsam un d extrem laut. Dafür ist die Lage sehr gut und das Frühstücksbüffet hervorragend. Wenn man mit einem Mietwagen anreist, muss man mit einem Bezahlparkplatz […] in der Nähe vorlieb nehmen, was mitunter sehr teuer sein kann. Das Schwimmbecken auf dem Dach ist nicht gterade der Hit, aber die Aussicht ist grandios. Insgesamt: man kann es ganz gut aushalten dort und der Preis ist akzeptabel. Mehr

Das Hotel ist sowohl für einen Strandurlaub wie auch für einen Citytrip genial geeignet. Auch für Familien! Cool ist auch der Pool auf dem Dach des Hotels, den wir zwar nie benutzt haben, das Meer liegt ja schliesslich fast vor der Tür! Perfekt ist auch das Frühstück! Frische Waffeln und ein riesiges Buffet mit kalten und warmen Speisen, sowie Omlettes, […] Rührei usw... Das einzige was zu bemängeln ist ist die anzahl der Lifts. nice lobby, check-in a bit of a drain but afterwards, a nice room, great view. clean, comfortable, great bathroom. roo,ier than comparable european hotels. great breakfast!! excellent location near the Namal (old tel aviv port), and the beach, convenient to bike rentals, strolling, dining, and beach. all in all great!!

Basic, Friendly and Comfortable However the elevators are currently being refurbished and frequently only one small lift is available for the entire hotel... enjoy the climb !!!

Stayed here for leleseder, good value for tel Aviv. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were helpful and friendly. It is a little dated but maintained well. The breakfast was very good, huge selection of food, lovely Dining room. The location is fantastic, 5 minute walk to the Port area, less to the Beach and a 5 minutes from ben yehuda s […] treet. Good value for the price. Easy access to the beach boardwalk and great breakfast selection.

Spent a week there in March 2012. Hardly a four star hotel which I seem to remember they claim that they have, this is a decent three star hotel in my opinion. Minus: Noisy breakfast room that could do with some re-decoration and some textiles on the walls to create a calmer ambiance. Breakfast buffe was OK. Unfortunately pool was not open which was […] a big minus. Good location though, it was close to the beach and to nice surrounding areas, many good restaurants a few hundred meters north of the hotel. Well, all in all it was OK, but nohting more, you get what you pay for. Tel Aviv was a nice surprise though, liked it a lot and hope to return some day. Mehr

Second time have stayed at this hotel. On first occassion room service was patchy with clean towels turning up some hours after the room had been cleaned.and room had that jaded look. They were gradually refurbishing each floor at that time and on second occasion we were given a room on one of the refurbished floors with a sea view.. requested a non smoking room. my room was directly across from the elevator lobby where there was a huge ashtray area because the elevators were so slow. EVERYONE smoked there, which seeped into my room. despite the 45 degree farenheit temperature, I was forced to prop my window open to air out the room all night long. When I requested a cab for the […] early morning at a certain time, I had to keep reminding the reception person that it still wasn't there three times. Mmy husband and i found this hotel to be somewhat run down for a hotel in Tel Aviv, Israel. The hotel staff was somewhat rude and unhelpful when talking to them . Also the cleaning staff were terrible - my husband and I came back to the hotel after a day of sightseeing and found room to be unmade Also one elevator was always broken which made for a […] long wait for an elevator. Other than that Tel Aviv is wonderful and my husband and I hope to go back soon but at another hotel. Mehr

This is an older hotel, but some floors have been renovated and all were clean and comfortable. though not large or luxurious, they were nicely decorated. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Location near the port and the charming boardwalk with restaurants etc was excellent. We visited with our children and grandchildren. Clean, Great breakfast, OK location, No staff help, one person working at the desk for a hotel this size that was fully booked. Real SCAREY elevators from the 1950's internet didn't work.

Staff were poorly trained, unhelpful and unfriendly. They had no knowledge or understanding of the needs of orthodox Jewish guests, other than the basics provided at any Israeli hotel. The hotel seems exclusively staffed by Russian immigrants who, in their own country, have different standards and have applied them in Israel - simply not good enough. With so many things to see and do in Israel, the Grand Beach facilities were adequate. The included buffet breakfast was excellent. The hotel does not offer room service. Several organized tours return to the hotel after 7:00 p.m. After a full day of touring, it would have been helpful if a light dinner was available in the hotel instead of seeking […] out a restaurant. I recently stayed in this hotel for one week. From the moment I arrived I noted that the room was scruffy and dilapidated. On closer inspection the sheets and mattress protectors on the beds were filthy, the mattress protectors even marked with bodily secretions! I was shocked and disgusted. At breakfast the food was kept at best 'warm' by using a small […] 'candle' underneath the hot food receptacles. The flame was not kept burning until the end of the breakfast session and extinguished so that on some occasions when I came for breakfast the food was cold! If the rooms and breakfast were bad then the staff certainly did not make up for it. The were sour and rude, unhelpful and thoroughly inappropriate to be doing such a job involving interaction with guests. They could not seem more disinterested in any complaints or the welfare of guests if they tried! I wish I had read reviews of this hotel before booking. I will never stay there again. Mehr

We loved almost everything about the Grand Beach Hotel. The only downside for us was that we needed to vacate our room at 4:00 on Shabbat and it really seems a shame that the hotel is unable to allow Sabbath-observant people to stay later. Apart from that, we would come again!

Very good hotel with great staff. Very convenient location with the beach right across the road.

We're so glad that we checked into the Grand Beach Hotel. Everything about it was perfect! One little point to ponder: I wonder who designed the bathroom. Instead of installing the toilet tissue holder at arm's reach, they installed it so that you have to be a contortionist to use it ... and the metal tissue-cover jabs you in the ribs when you're on […] the toilet. I always wonder why the designers don't give a bit more thought to these small matters. Mehr

Very disappointing. It is surely not a 4 start hotel - maybe 2 stars at best. The hotel is outdated and the Room was not clean upon arrival. Will never stay there again.

A hotel in a convenient location, a stones throw to the beach and a 10 minute walk to the Port. The rooms were clean and comfortable, however the maintenance of the hotel needs upgrading. They were renovating the lift by putting a third one in and unfortunately the slowest and smallest lifts I have ever been in. The pool area on the top of the hotel […] was a nice bonus. The staff were not the friendliest but tried to assist where they could. Overall an ok stay for an older hotel that was convenient and clean. Mehr

The location was awesome. I had an incrediable view of Tel Aviv. The bathroom was renovated and was great. The rooms need to be renovation as the carpet was stained and the furniture was old. The lobby was nice and the people behind the desk were just OK. I would however recommend this hotel as the price was right and the location was across the beach […] and close to all the main streets. Mehr

Very nice breakfast buffet and service. Good location - walking distance to the beach and shopping. Rooms small. Nice swimming pool on the roof.

My stay at the Grand Beach Hotel was perfect. The room was neat, clean and had a beautiful view of the sea. The front desk staff was helpful and I was even able to check in early. The main problem with the hotel was the lifts, they have 3 however only 2 were working as the other one is being upgraded, the hotel was very busy as it was during Passover, the lifts were always full, over 5mins wait most time for the lift and even worse on Shabbat as only one lift runs all the time, the other is on automatic.

The hotel is in a great location, with views of the sea, but there's a reason why it's so much cheaper than all the other hotels nearby, and that's because it's kind of dirty. Our non-smoking room was very smoky, and the carpets were dirty. But, the bed and bathroom were clean, so if you're looking for a cheap place to stay near the beach, it's still […] okay. This hotel is located across from the beach and a very short walk fron Ben Yehuda and Dizengoff - very convenient! The front desk staff left much to be desired, however. The were two staff members we were very impressed with - Stav and Dafna. They were friendly and helpful, pleasure to deal with. Other people at the front desk were, frankly, unpleasant. […] The restaurant staff and the bar downstairs were all quite nice. The room is on a small side, but not bad. Buffet breakfast wasn't as good as other hotels in Israel we stayed in th past. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel because the location is great and the hotel is well maintained. Mehr

This hotel has a great location convenient to the beach and the Seaport and the price is reasonable for a downtown Tel Aviv hotel. The rooms aren't fancy but they are comfortable enough. However, the hotel is quite rundown and not clean. There are two small elevators for a large hotel and I frequently had to either wait a long time or walk up 11 flights […] of stairs. However, the worst part of this hotel is that the hotel and staff are not service-oriented. There is nothing in the room to delineate what hotel services are available, i.e. the included breakfast, the roof pool, etc. You're supposed to find out on your own. In addition, when we arrived two hours before check-in from New York, the doorman gave us a very hard time about checking our baggage, claiming that the checkroom was full. When we insisted, we accompanied him to the room which was actually quite empty. Later, we asked that the room safe be repaired (a simple battery replacement0 and it was never done and we were never contacted. Most of the desk staff do not wear name tags and do not make eye contact. On one occasion, when we returned to the room, the maid was in the room cleaning up and having a conversation on her cell phone. She not only did not leave the room, but stood in the room and continued a loud conversation on her phone with us in the room. On our final day, the hotel maid continually knocked on our door before check-out time and even barged into the room with us in it. Perhaps, the elevator problem can't easily be remedied, but the extremely poor service is inexcusable. Mehr

This hotel was somewhat basic, no frills, but at a very good price to be at the beachfront. It's situated on the promenade and very close to other very nice hotels that charge a much higher rate. The breakfast buffet was very nice with lots to choose from and friendly staff. The only downside is that there was no wi-fi in the building.

All the best to the staff. The food was excellent. Plus kosher for passover and variaty you cannot ask for more. Looking forward to visit again. Galina

The location of the hotel - a block from the beach just near the popular port area and two blocks away from a great shopping street, Dizengoff - and the very reasonable rates make this hotel a great deal. Rooms are more like mid to lower-end US rooms, but are at least kept neat and clean. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was good, as […] well. The Grand Beach is an affordable, clean hotel in the Tel Aviv beach district, with a good breakfast buffet. We would stay here again and recommend it to friends.

a very reasonable priced hotel, very close to all activities. All services, reception, room, restaurant are clean, couteous and prompt. The location and the price beat all other available offers.

The room was very basic. There is only one person working the front desk so it takes a while to check in and out if there is a line. The best thing about this hotel is the included breakfast - it was amazing and plentiful!

Good clean hotel, not fancy but good location if you are looking to stay in Tel Aviv. There is no parking so keep that in mind.

Pool was nice as was location 1 block from the beach. AIr conditioning worked well. Shabbat elevator really slowed down the other two elevators - the Shabbat elevator wound up being faster! Enjoyed our stay and would consider staying at this hotel again.
