Hotel was in an ideal location as was in walking distance of everything. Free parking as well which is a bonus. Our room was in the older section of the hotel so the room was on the small side but it was lovely! Would return to The Falcon!

Booked for a firms Christmas night away. Absolutely loved it. Very festive, close to other old character pubs and historic buildings etc.

My travelmate and I were very pleased with the Legacy Falcoln Hotel. The price was reasonable, the room was in the modern portion of the hotel and yet the hotel has areas that are more traditional as reflected in the building's exterior. I would definitely stay there again were I visiting Stratford.

Was very pleased with the Legacy Falcoln Hotel. It has a terrific mix of the old and the modern. Ate a great dinner there, too before seeing a show at the RSC. I would definitely stay there again.

I have stayed at the Falcon a number of times, as it is in the main part of town and close to the RSC. There is an old section and a new section of the hotel. I have stayed in both, and the old section is both musty and right above the pub, so it is noisy as well. This last time, I specifically asked for a room in the new section when I made the reservation […] but was given one in the old section. When I complained, they did move me. There is nothing particularly wrong with the hotel; it is just average. The most inconvenient thing is that there is no WiFi in the rooms--even for purchase. I use an iPad, so cable will not work. I am planning to look elsewhere for a hotel when I next visit. Mehr

Steeped in history the legacy Falcon is a interesting and fun experience. The hotel is a mix of modern and historical, and rooms reflect this. We stayed in the original Tudor building and had a winding suite of rooms overlooking Nash House and the New Place, Shakespeare's final residence. The rooms take a oittle license form the age and are certainly […] not spotlessly modern but you dont come to a 400 year old house for that! Centrally located with a view of the RSC Theatre and in Stratford centre. The traditional wood panelled Inn within the hotel is below and again steeped in history and atmosphere. The hotel has two sections. One modern and one old. The modern section would be suitable for guests with physical problems or difficulties moving around. The older section requires the navigation of narrow halls, steep stairs, small doorways, and uneven floors. If you can manage it, though, I highly recommend it. Bathroom very small, probably due to problems of room size in antique listed building. Otherwise excellent and location and ambiance were superb.

We first stayed at the Falcon Hotel a few year ago - at that time while we loved certain things about the hotel (the restaurant was great and the location about as good as it gets at the centre of Stratford) the room we were given was really terrible - dirty, cold and had a very strong smell of smoke. When we complained we were told there was nothing […] that could be done as the hotel was undergoing refurbishment. Needless to say, we were not impressed and didn't rush to return. Fast forward to 2011 and we decided to give the Legacy Falcon Hotel a second chance. This time our experience was *much* more positive. Our room was really lovely, staff friendly (if a little disorganised) and the restaurant still good. Obviously the location is still excellent and if our most recent stay is representative of the new Legacy Falcon Hotel, we would certainly be happy to recommend it. Mehr

Great hotel, we had a fabulous stay with our 2 kids - good location, helpful and friendly staff, charming with modern luxuries. did not eat in restaurant at night, just breakfast which was fine.

a very nice, comfortable hotel. staff were pleasant and let us keep our car in the car park the day we checked out. The only down side, as mentionned on other reviews is the very basic continental breakfast, it doesn't cover many countries of the continent so don't expect fancy croissants or meats and cheeses! Of course you can have your full english […] for an additional charge so I guess it depends on your budget. However, plenty of cafes in town where you could stop for a brunch. Overall, it was adequate for what I needed it for, somewhere close to town, clean and friendly. Mehr

Loved the hotel, bed comfortable, room spotless, staff friendly. Only problem was the room was stifling & uncomfortably hot with no option to cool it down. Some fans were available but were all allocated. However I would definitely stay there again.

The falcon was in a terrific location with charming amenities from club rooms to 18th C bar to english garden for afternoon sitting. It did not offer any concierge services or after hours services. I was not able to check out before 7 am and breakfast did not start until 7am. I'd stay there again and recommend it for the location and charm

Avoid room 350. It's a cupboard under the stairs in the lovely sounding 'Garden House.' Clean, yes, modern and in good condition, yes but no atmosphere. Lots of banging doors and squeaking floors to annoy. Can't really comment on the rest of the hotel as we had no interest in the facilities in general as we were there to see Stratford and merely wanted […] somewhere to stay to sleep. Stayed here as it was in easy walking distance of the RSC. The room itself was pretty quirky and cool located in the old part of the hotel but it fell down due to the fact that the room felt hastily prepped, as evidenced by some weird stains on the bed and sofa cushions which were soon put to oneside and the tv in the sitting room didn't work. Small […] things but they seem to get you to notice other faults such as the fact that the corridors in the old part of the hotel could do with a good refresh. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Mehr

Very nice hotel, the actual hotel isn't in the old building but this means the rooms are modern, a good size and comfortable whilst you can still enjoy food and drink in the old building. It is well placed for the theatres and has a sensible car-parking policy. A receptionist called Charlotte was absolutely delightful. The bar is spoilt by big TV screens and fruit machines and the so called "Scholars'" room would have been much nicer has there been a few books in it! The breakfast coffee was horrible, and we established that the decaffeinated […] variety was instant, though both it and the very slightly nicer caffeinated one were served in cafetieres. Our room was fine, if a bit noisy from the street and the bathroom OK though very tiny. But it was all just fine for one night in central Stratford Mehr

Hotel is very well situated close to the town centre and about 5 minute walk to the river. Hotel has a pleasant garden where you can relax and have a drink. The room we had was on the small side but adequate and clean. Continental breakfast as part of rate - they wanted a surcharge for a cooked breakfast. Stayed here again and was just as good as last time,dont think you will find a better hotel in stratford service is second to none. Thank you to all the staff there were great !!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Legacy Falcon Hotel and extended an extra day. The breakfast buffet and service was especially good as was the off-street parking. The only minuses were that there was poor ventilation in our room which had windows that do not open, and the irritating television set-up that makes it inconvenient to just watch broadcast tv […] . The room had a beautiful view of the garden and was spacious and comfortable. The location is superb as I walked most sites in Stratford in the first day, and was able to do day trips to other Cotswolds sites with a 10 minute walk to the train station. I got room service twice and it was superb, the staff are all very nice and helpful. The garden out […] back is very special; a wonderful outdoor brunch. The bed was a bit stiff but I've found that almost all UK beds are. I highly recommend this hotel. Mehr

A lovely hotel and a very comfortable room, close to all the sights. However, through no fault of the hotel, there was construction of a new building right next to our window which began at 7 am sharp each morning. No need for a wake up call!

All that spoiled our stay at the Legacy Falcon was that, having driven down from Manchester, we wanted to change our clothes as we were going to the races and, arriving at 11.30am we hoped we'd be able to check into our room to freshen up. However, the young lady on reception told us the hotel's policy was that check-in was at 2pm and that we could […] use one of the hotel's toilets - best ones for the purpose were those on the 1st floor as they were larger than those in reception. Why could not housekeeping have been requested to prepare our room as soon as possible? I would have expected that, having worked in a large hotel myself. Surely not too much to ask? My husband and I felt rather put out at this! Another small complaint would be the lack of choice for the breakfast included in the price we paid for the room: surely there could have been some cold cuts of meat and cheese? My husband had to pay for a 'full English' as an extra. Mehr

We chose this hotel for its old world charm and the open fires and it did not disappoint. We requested a room in the old part of the hotel which we were given. The first night the noise from the bar downstairs was quite loud and we were quite cold. However, the second night the bar was much quieter and we were provided with an extra blanket at our request […] and this made all the difference. Our second day was a Saturday and the fires were kept stoked all day and well into the evening - the staff were quite solicitous about this and the roaring log fires certainly added to the atmosphere on a cold gloomy January day! The location of the hotel was very central with everything on our doorstep. All in all a very pleasant break. Mehr

This hotel has everything you need for a short break: convenient location, good sized, comfortable rooms,quiet diningroom with unhurried but attentive service and efficient, friendly staff

We stayed in the old part of the hotel, room 305. This is our 3rd year at the Falcon. Our first year we stayed in room 307 with a 4 poster bed, wow room, but we weren't so lucky this year.This year our room was spacious and warm. Only let down; hair dryer blows cold air only, no mirror in front to to look at yourself and lights very dim. Buffet breakfast […] was good and cooked breakfast was excellent too. Walking distance to town was 5 mins so everything you need to see is there. We will be going again next year for the New Year as it's just so restful after the hetic Christmas week. Mehr

Stayed here for New Year with my husband and we were both very happy with the accommodation at the price we paid. Only had lunch once in the hotel but very nice and good value. Breakfast ticked all the usual boxes. Small grumble was that there was no blind or curtain up at bathroom window so for modesty had to get a shower with the bathroom light off […] and limited light from the hall. Location spot on. This hotel has loads of character and a great central position. The ols parts is very beautiful but I don't think the mdern extension is that nice but overall very good

Excellent location right in the centre of thr town close to all the places you might want to visit. Frontage superb but the modern extension and car park at the back certainly were not pretty. However the easy parking included in the price was a real bonus. Only had continental breakfast in the hotel, did our eating and drinking elsewhere as there is […] plenty of choice. Amazed for a hotel of this standard that continental breakfast did not include any cheese or cold meats. These items had been carefully deleted from the menu cards! Pretty poor I would say. If you do book unless you get a good price with cooked breakfast, eat elsewhere. All in all this is a very nice hotel with pleasant staff and clean rooms and public areas. Mehr

This is a decent hotel, but I have marked it down because of the way in which the place is presented - it is bizarre to put it bluntly. Starts off as an authentic black and white Tudor style building but the moment you step through the front door it goes completely wrong - the furniture is out of place, it is divided into smaller areas that look like […] they have been thrown together without any thought or sympathy. The place has big open fire places and despite it being freezing outside not one was lit - most uninviting especially when compared to the numerous restaurants and pubs in Stratford, no wonder the place was completely empty. There is an inner hall that connects the original building with a very ugly 60's extension, the hall is covered in military type plaques that are just completely out of keeping and look rather odd. Continental breakfast is included and is OK, I wouldn't have been impressed if I'd had to pay extra for it. The hotel also has a car park, which is free for guests - a huge bonus in Stratford. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, the room was very comfortable and modern with a super king sized bed. There is also free wifi/internet throughout the hotel and in the rooms if this is of interest to you. Mehr

We find this a good hotel to stay in when going to Stratford to visit the RSC theatre. Good accommodation, and very convenient.

The hotel is located right in town and you can walk to lots of restaurants and to the river. I was hoping to get a room in the older section, but did not. I wanted to have the feel of a really old historical place but did not get that with my room. The newer part of the hotel could use some updating. Everything was very clean, but just a little worn […] looking. The front part of the building had a pub and some sitting areas that are the older part of the building and they are very quaint. Not worth the stay unless you can get in the older section. Mehr

The Falcon Hotel retains its timbered external appearance fitting in well with the surroundings. Although modernised inside, many of its period features have been retained with attractive but small public rooms Up-to-date technology is available in otherwise rather plain bedrooms but the internet access is expensive. The breakfast was below average […] with indifferent service. Nevertheless the hotel is very well positioned for the attractions in Stratford. Mehr

A lovely hotel, right in the heart of Stratford. Our family room was luxurious. It was a bit hot in the evening as the room had no air-conditioning; that, and the fact that we could get only one hotel key for two adults, were the only quibbles we had with what was otherwise a great stay.

A friendly hotel steeped in history. The back half of the hotel is a modern building though so ask for the front rooms if you want authenticity. Our room deviding wall was very thin and our neighbours every word could be heard.

We stayed for one night only, but will certainly return and would not hesitate to recommend to friends. It is ideally situated, with a good Car-Park, which is essential if staying in Stratford-upon-Avon. The garden area was relaxing and beautifully maintained. Excellent value for money.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and staff were helpful and courteous. breakfast was very nice and waiting staff particularly attentive. Hotel was ideally placed for walking about Stratford and close to theatres and main tourist sites. Car parking was easy. Would stay again and recommend to others.
