Das Hotel hat die 4 Sterne voll verdient! Wir würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen. Das Frühstück ist vergleichbar mit jedem 4 Sterne Hotel in Deutschland. Die Zimmer sind sehr modern und entsprechen auch absolut dem Standard eines 4 Sterne Hotels in Deutschland.

Für unseren einwöchigen Venedigbesuch suchten wir einen idealen Ausgangspunkt und haben ihn im Hotel Ai Pini gefunden. Auf dem kleinen parkähnlichen Grundstück (etwas kleiner, als die Fotos vermuten lassen) konnten wir unser Fahrzeug die ganze Woche sicher abstellen. Ca. 15 m vor der Hotelzufahrt befindet sich eine Bushaltestelle und mit der Linie 7 kann man ohne Umsteigen direkt zum Busbahnhof in Venedig fahren, wo sich auch die Vaporettostationen befinden. Die Busfahrt dauert ca. eine halbe Stunde - der Bus ist je nach Tageszeit relativ voll. Vom Busbahnhof in Venedig kann man in ein Vaporetto umsteigen oder nach Überquerung der nächsten Brücke direkt die Gassen von Venedig erkunden. Im Hotel konnten wir auch die Kombikarten Hellovenezia für Bus und Vaporetto erstehen. Diese kostete für sieben Tage fünfzig Euro pro Person und hatte sich bereits nach dem zweiten Tag gerechnet. Das Personal im Ai Pini ist absolut freundlich und sehr hilfbereit - angefangen beim Empfang bis zum sehr guten Restaurant (empfehlenswert). Es ist jedoch ratsam, die etwas größeren Zimmer möglichst mit Blick auf den Park zu wählen - darin kann man sich aber sehr wohl fühlen (auch wenn es keine Zimmer mit Balkon gibt). Alles in allem als Ausgangspunkt für Venedigbesuche sehr geeignet.
Lage
Das im Zentrum von Venedig gelegene Hotel San Cassiano Ca` Favretto liegt nur 100 Meter vom Museum für Moderne Kusnt, 300 Meter von der Rialtobrücke und 2km von den Wassersportmöglichkeiten des Strandes von Lido entfernt. Der Flughafen Marco Polo befindet sich in einer Entfernung von 12km. Der Palazzo in Terrakottafarben aus dem 14. Jahrhundert befindet sich am Canale Grande. Das Hotel beherbergte im 19. Jahrhundert den venezianischen Maler Giacomo Favretto und befindet sich nur 700 Meter vom Markusplatz entfernt.

Der 2 Kilometer entfernte Lido (15 Minuten mit dem Wasserbus vom Markusplatz) ist der Freizeit- und Strandbereich von Venedig und bietet zahlreiche Sport- und Freizeitaktivitäten. Von der Wasserbus-Haltestelle aus braucht man mit dem Bus 5 Minuten und zu Fuß 15 Minuten bis zum Strand.

Am Beginn des Canal Grande liegt Santa Croce direkt gegenüber dem Bus- und dem Zugbahnhof. Das friedliche Viertel liegt zwar sehr nahe, bleibt aber weitgehend unbeachtet von den Besucherströmen. Von der malerischen Ponte degli Scalzi lässt sich der rege Verkehr auf dem Kanal beobachten. Abseits der Touristenstrecken lassen sich hier viele schöne Kirchen besichtigen. Die Rialtobrücke ist nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß oder mit dem Boot entfernt.

"Tolles Hotel"
Das Hotel liegt in zentraler aber doch ruhiger Lage. Von hier kommt man sehr gut zum Airport und allen anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Die Hotelangestellten sind alle sehr freundlich. "San Cassiano Ca´Favretto ist ein Geheimtipp"
Das Hotel San Cassiano Ca´Favretto ist etwas für Fans alter Palazzi, ruhig gelegen und dennoch mit Blick und Terrasse auf den Canale Grande. Sehr zu empfehlen für Erstreisende nach Venedig, da es sehr günstig gelegen ist und man alle Stadtteile recht gut von dort aus erreicht, ohne immer und immer wieder die gleichen Wege gehen zu müssen. Der Service/die […] Rezeption sind Klasse. Es gibt Hilfe bei allen Fragen. So u. a. Eintrittskarten für Konzerte oder auch Tickets für die Rückreise zum Flughafen bzw. Ermäßigungen für ein nahe gelegenes Restaurant. Unser Zimmer war schmuck eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Was uns ein bisschen gestört hat, war, dass es im Bad keine Lüftung gab. Das Frühstück übrigens ist für Italien-Kenner der Hammer. Also: Ein schmuckes Hotel mitten in Venedig und nicht nur für Verliebte etwas, sondern auch für Familien. Wir würden es wieder buchen. Mehr

Kurze Entfernung vom Bahnhof. Dort, wo man meint, sich verlaufen zu haben, tauchen dann die Wegweiser zum Hotel auf. Freundlicher Empfang, Zimmer mit Canal-Blick sehr geräumig und charmant. Das Hotel ist ein hübscher alter Palazzo für Venedig wirklich sehr gut gelegen. Man sollte vielleicht darauf aufmerksam machen, dass man eher auf das Vaporetto verzichten sollte, da der Fußweg zur Rialtobrücke gebummelt 10 Minuten in Anspruch nimmt und zur Piazza San Marco noch einmal 10 Minuten. Sehr stilvoller Palazzo in hervorragender Lage direkt am Canale Grande, sehr gepflegt mit äusserst zuvorkommenden, mehrsprachigem Personal. Gutes, umfangreiches Frühstück, kleine (aber meistens dennoch freie) traumhafte Frühstücksterasse über dem Canale, sehr gepflegte und erstaunlich ruhige Zimmer. Das Viererzimmer ist gross (ca. 40 m²) und gut ausgestattet, […] einziges Manko sind die etwas zu schmalen und kurzen Einzelbetten. Liegt nahe an der Schiffsstation San Stae und ist dadurch alle 30' per Schiff vom Flughafen (ca. 50') zu erreichen. Gute Kartenkunde ist anschliessend gefragt, liegt das Hotel doch etwas verwinkelt (was Venedig jedoch auch ausmacht). Freundliche und hilfreiche Rezeption die agil und flexibel reagiert hat, als in unserem ersten Zimmer ein starker Geruch […] von Toilette zu riechen war. Zweites Zimmer war schmuck, jedoch eher klein (besonders das Bad). Blick auf Canale Grande nur ganz minim (dafür müsste ein Zimmer der höheren Kategorie gebucht werden). Frühstücksbuffet etwas mager, jedoch sättigend (selfservice). Gepäck kann auch nach check-out vor Ort gelassen werden (check-out um 11 Uhr) und später vor dem Transfer zum Bahnhof/Flughafen abgeholt werden. Mehr

While the rooms are not the largest, you can't beat the location and staff at this small hotel. I have stayed several times at this hotel and each time has been a pleasure, the staff is very helpful in finding quaint restaurants, 'unknown" methods of travel, orunusual areas to visit.

We just stayed at this hotel for 2 nights early this March. It was in need of some updating the rooms had large cracks in the walls and needed a bit of a makeover. My largest complaint was a very extreme medical emergency happened in my family weeks before this trip and even though we bought letters from the Dr.s at the hospital that traveling was impossible, […] they were the only hotel that refused to credit us for one of our rooms and 4 other hotels in Italy had no problem. "Very small single room - fabulous bathroom"
Hotel San Cassiano Ca'Favretto is a delightful hotel set in a quiet area on the Grande Canal. It is situated about 20 minutes walk from Piazzale Roma (or 40 minutes with cases!). My room was clean and tidy with the most wonderful Murano glass chandelier. Although the room was tiny it met my needs. The bathroom was excellent, feeling it had been newly […] refurbished. My only criticism was that the wardrobe (and enclosed safe) were vary dark and difficult to see into. The staff were all friendly, especially the kind bell-boy who assisted me to carry my cases up to the second floor. I bumped into him later that evening after he'd finished his shift and he showed me the nearby San Stae vaporetti stop (only three bridges to carry cases over). Very helpful! The good - blown glass lighting in room, curtains, and wifi service - which is paid nor available free in lobby; The bad - pubic hair in bed, the size of room is the smallest I have stayed -including san fran and nyc, toilet area is even smaller (41/2 ft. x 6 ft) including a toilet, bidet, sink and tub, rude staff and management. Even worse is the fact […] that the performed construction directly under the room my mom occupied her entire stay. Clean, good sized room. Restaurant and bar that open to the Grand Canal. Great breakfast with eggs, yogurt, juices, croissants, toast, bacon, etc. Big breakfast for Italy. Easy 10 minute walk to all of the major tourist spots. Helpful concierge as well. Would stay there again.

"Wonderful accommodation"
Our recent stay at the San Cassiano Ca'Favretto was better than expected, based upon some unfavorable reviews. We selected the upgraded canal view room, and received room 105. The room was quite large, the view over the canal was perfect, and the bed quite comfortable. Unusual for European hotels, the bath had a full shower curtain, and was fully appointed. Charming hotel, good service. Bathroom curtain didn't stopped the water leaking no matter how careful we were. We eventually secured shower curtain on each side with weights and put rolled towels on the sides of the bathtub - this worked. Heating didn't work most of the time, including the towel rack in the bathroom. This was especially a problem because […] it was very rainy during our stay and we weren't able to dry our clothes. This was a very convenient hotel with a super breakfast! The room was nice--with enough room--plus a large closet—plus very quiet! The TV was nonexistence for us--very tiny. Besides who cares about TV when you’re in Venice! The only issue we had is that no one at the front desk seemed very knowledgeable about some very basic information about how to […] get to the hotel and St. Mark info. We had called ahead for clarification on the directions to the hotel from here and their website and they didn’t know how to get to the hotel!? Once we arrived a man at the front desk told us that St. Marks had Mass every hour on the hour on Sundays--didn't trust that so we went earlier than planned and good thing we did since we just caught the last mass. Overall just a very nice if not fancy hotel. Would definitely stay here again just for the QUIET location and the SUPER breakfast. Plus the staff was very nice—if not extremely informative. Now on the directions on both websites (at the time we went) the directions said to get off of the water bus at the Ca’D”Oro station which is actually across the canal from where you need to be. Be sure to take the S. Stae water bus station. We bought a pass and used it endlessly. Trying to find the hotel we finally had to stop and buy a bottle of wine and ask for directions—which were all given to us in sign language! But we did find the hotel. Very helpful! IF you hire a taxi the cost is around $75--which is what we paid for a 3 day water bus pass. If you don’t want to take your chances: Here are walking directions from S. Stae water bus drop: as you get off the bus go straight off the bus and head left in front of the church looking building, there you will see a footbridge over a small canal. Once over the short footbridge take a right (only choice). Take a left at the second narrow passageway-Calle Del Forner (street). Keep going over another footbridge now the street is Calle Del Ravano (you will be going over 2 footbridges). Take a left Mehr

A great stay - totally good value - excellent location if you are happy walking through the streets and alleyways of Venice - not far from the fish market and the Rialto bridge - clearly sign posted once you are within a few hundred metres - great choice of breakfast food with lovely views onto the Grand Canal - all staff friendly and good natured and […] were appreciative of our attempts to speak Italian...we would stay there again. Our second stay, and again a wonderful experience. Even a little better as we had a room with windows opening onto the Grand Canal. And again the breakfast buffet was excellent. A great place to enjoy a night in Venice!!

Whilst a charming building and a former palazzo, the quality of both the service (particularly one of the front-desk staff, Misu) and the furnishings and amenities (toiletries, extra services, pillows, etc), the overall experience felt like an underwhelming 3-star hotel...

"Romantic gateaway weekend"
The hotel is really good the only thing that was a bomer was that the room and balcony are small and breakfast average but the overall quality and place really good. We had a great time.

The service was friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is much more a converted Venetian mansion than a standard hotel, and has a real local atmosphere in a town where far too many hotels now have no character inside. The rooms were well air conditioned, and had good beds and bathrooms but were small. Do, however, call or email to make sure you get the right local boat connections and don't trust the hotel location maps on the web. They imply the hotel is a street further north than it really is, and don't show how hard it can be to find. Get a map from the Hotel. It is, however, right across the Grand Canal from the Casa D-Oro, and five minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge. A great location for either using the local boats or walking. Mehr

We enjoyed our stay at San Cassiano; it is a lovely old Venetian Hotel. Just what you would want to experience in Venice. Ornate gold carved headboards, beautiful Morano glass chandeliers and antique furniture. The staff treats you like royalty. The hotel was a good place to stay for location -close to the water taxi stand and in a good neighborhood. desk staff were helpful. Having breakfast out on the patio overlooking the canal was a great way to start the day. The hotel was very clean and quiet - a good place to stay out of the mainstream of traffic but close enough to the main sights.

Venice is very expensive and I don't know what you get for your money in other places. We booked this hotel thinking we were splashing out. It's a lovely building and a great location. Hotel was in a good location just caught the #1 water bus to hotel and didn't have to drag our luggage too far. If you email hotel they will send you a map on how to get there. only issues I had were there was no lift and if you have any issues with stairs this won't be the hotel for you. We had a room with view on the grand canal... it was magic

We had a beautiful room overlooking a side canal and the Grand Canal. It was on the second floor and just remember there are no elevators. This is true for most of Venice and I won't recommend this city if you have a problem with climbing stairs as there are hundreds of bridges to cross. Even as a young 36 year old I found it tiresome and I do run 30km […] per week! The room was comfortable and very clean. It was on the same floor as the breakfast room and I found it very annoying to be woken up every morning by kitchen noise and other guest's loud talking. The Breakfast room is very tiny and you might have to wait to be seated. The breakfast itself is not spectacular and very basic with no personal service. The TV channels , there are 4, one English News, one French and two Italian. Our remotes batteries kept in place by sellotape. There was extra pillows in the closet and towels were changed if you left them on the floor. Staff in general are very helpful and will try their best to accomadate. The rate is to expensive for what you get and we found it ridiculous that we had to pay to use the internet. There was also no WiFi in the Hotel. Is this a four star hotel? Mehr
