Super schöner Kurzurlaub... wir bekamen aufgrund einer privaten Veranstaltung (wir konnten die Sonnenterasse für 4 Std. nicht nutzen) ein Upgrade, d.h. statt Doppelzimmer die Suite mit Blick auf den See und Balkon. Einfach nur herrlich!

die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter (besonders an der Rezeption) ist uns sehr positiv aufgefallen, zudem konnten wir bereits früher einchecken als eigentlich angegeben, tolles Frühstück, ich hätte mir nur noch gewünscht draußen frühstücken zu können, zwar nicht mittendrin, aber immernoch toll gelegen, so dass wir fast alles zu Fuß erreichen konnten

Lage

Nette Bedienung, sehr nah am Hauptbahnhof, Gegend sehr gut -tolle Kneipen und Restaurants in der Gegend. Preis super gut für Zürich

"Eine gute Wahl"
Das X-tra Hotel liegt sehr zentral am Limmatplatz, direkt an der gleichnamigen Tramstation. Diese Tramstation ist besonders touristenfreundlich, da sie eine persönliche Beratung bzgl möglicher Wochen- und Kombitickets bietet. Auch ein PkW Stellplatz wird angeboten, sodass man mit dem Auto anreisen, die Besichtigung der Stadt aber mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln […] vornehmen kann. Das Hotel selbst ist meines Erachtens schlicht und sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig, die Angestellten sind alle außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit. "Gute Lage - Strassenlaerm"
x-tra liegt nahe am Bahnhof, und der Rest der Stadt kann gut von dort mit der Tram erreicht werden. Restaurant und Bar sind zu empfehlen. Leider ist es ziemlich laut von der Strasse her, so dass bei offenem Fenster nicht wirklich geschlafen werden kann. Es gibt keine Klimaanlage in den Zimmern.
"Strassenbahn fast vor der Tür, Nähe zum Bahnhof"
Wenn ich das nächste Mal nach Zürich reise, werde ich wieder im X-Tra Hotel absteigen. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist O.K, Der allgemein zu nutzende Computer ist allerdings sehr alt und könnte mal erneuert werden.

Hotel mit guter Lage. Zimmer grosszügig und sauber, teilweise etwas altmodisch (Badezimmer). Nicht genügend Parkplätze in der Tiefgarage. Ohne vorherige Reservation stand kein Parkplatz zur Verfügung.
"Zentrumsnahes Hotel zu gutem Preis"
Das Hotel liegt Zentrumsnahe und ist mit Tram und zu Fuss vom Bahnhof gut erreichbar. Obwohl in die Jahre gekommen, ist das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis für Zürich sehr gut. Lärmempfindliche Personen sollten dieses Hotel eher nicht auswählen, da es direkt an der Tramlinie liegt und die Trams ständig fahren. Zudem hat es auch eine Disco im Haus, die aber […] während meines Aufenthalts nicht geöffnet war. Das Personal war super freundliche und hilfsbereit. "Top Lage zu fairen Preisen"
Das X-Tra Hotel liegt sehr zentral und bietet seinem Gast unzählige Möglichkeiten für den Ausgang, Essen und vieles mehr. Auch die Preise sind für Zürcher Verhältnisse fair. Das Hotelpersonal war überaus freundlich und stets hilfsbereit. Der einzige Minuspunkt, war dass wir ein Doppelzimmer bekommen haben welches stark nach Zigarettenrauch gestunken […] hat. Wäre vorteilhaft gewesen, wenn wir dies im Voraus gewusst hätten, oder man uns beim Check-In informiert hätte. Auch gab es etwas Aussenlärm, aber dies ist wegen der zentralen Lage und der naheliegenden ÖV Mitteln auch kein Problem. Man konnte die Storen nicht richtig zu machen, bzw. war es nicht komplett dunkel im Zimmer. Da wir aber nur 3 Stunden geschlafen haben, war dies auch nicht weiter schlimm. Insgesamt kann ich das Hotel X-tra weiterempfehlen vor allem wegen seiner Lage, dem Personal und der günstige Tariff. Mehr

Das Hotel X-tra ist zentral gelegen. Leider, wenn man das Zimmer nach vorne raus hat ist es ein wenig laut.

"Innenstadt zu Fuß erreichbar"
Das Hotel bietet für 3 Sterne guten Komfort. Innenstadt ist zu Fuß erreichbar, Tramstation direkt vor dem Hotel. Frühstück sehr gut. Dünne Wände. In der Nacht Lärm vom Nachtclub nebenan und leider auch vom benachbarten Zimmer.

"Unglaubliches Preis-Leistungsverhältnis"
Ich fühlte mich in jeder Beziehung wohl in diesem Hotel: Service, Einrichtung des Zimmers, Restaurant (ich genoss zwei kleine, aber feine Mittagsmahlzeiten), Lage zwischen Westend und City, Strassenbahn gleich vor der Tür, aufgeräumter Geist des Hauses. Zwei kleine Einschränkungen: -Sowohl im Zimmer als auch im Bad fehlen Kleiderhaken. -TV-Gerät in […] einer oberen Zimmerecke montiert; nach 10 Minuten fühlt man die erste Nackenstarre. -Lärm von der Strassenbahn Die wummernden Bässe aus der im gleichen Haus untergebrachten Disco störten mich eigentlich nicht, zumal ich au Reisen stets Ohropax dabei habe. the location near the mail rail station is the only good thing about the hotel. The receptionist(male) does not know how to behave with guests. He is rude in answering. The person in charge of Breakfast was quite good.
"Good location on a budget"
Early check-in was very nice. You pay for what you get - it's a bit dated. X-tra Hotel's location however is great and the tram takes less than 5 mins to get to the main train station. Yes the hotel could be nicer, but when you're on a budget this hotel does the trick. Hopefully you'll spend more time in the city than at the hotel, and since the tram […] rides are so efficient, why spend 3 times as much to save you a 4 min. tram ride - well unless of course you're a BOSS! "My 1st Stay"
Good value for money. It is walking distance to bus and rail station. Tour of Zurich is available at the bus station that make life easier for us to tour around. Shopping center is also within walking distance. Be sure that you do your shopping before Sunday as all retail shop are closed.
"Okay for a night"
The X Tra Hotel is really more like a hostel than a hotel. VERY basic furnishings and tiny bathroom is all you're getting. The tv is the bulky type suspended in the corner of the room. The front desk service is fine and there is free internet in the lobby. Location is maybe 8 blocks from the train station.

"excellent choice"
X Tra hotel in Zurich is a very good choice. It is clean, comfortable and well located close to the train station and public transportation. The staff were very helpful and provided us with pack n plays for the babies. We slept extremely well and the breakfast was fabulous. I would recommend this hotel anytime. The price, too, was to our advantage.

If you are looking to step of the train and walk to your hotel and immerse yourself into a funky evening with the locals, Xtra is the place for you. Do not expect creature comforts but all is well and available from the friendly, helpful staff with some more modest but clean rooms in the hotel. "stay away"
The poor experience started right from the beginning when the hotel receptionist was arrogant and rude. We were told that the club/bar at X Tra was a private party and we were unable to attend. We asked for suggestions as to bars we could grab a drink and he gave us barely any guidance. We later found out that the bar at X Tra was open to the public. […] We had reserves a non smoking room and the stench of cigarettes was so strongin the room that we had to leave the widowa open all night even though it was 0 degrees C outside. "Get this hotel only if ..."
... 1 - you want an unhelpful reception person 2 - you want smoke smell all over the corridors and your room 3 - you can sleep in an extremely noisy room (because of music from the club below) 4 - you want to stay in a dingy lighted room 5 - you prefer to bring your own toiletries 6 - you want a place near main train station
Nice hotel. Clean and basic. Good location about 7 mins walk from the main station. Even though the hotel is above a nightclub it was very quiet. The hotel staff were pretty unfriendly. They were helfpul enough, but pretty blunt and rude. Free wifi access only available in the lobby (you have to pay to use it on a laptop in your room).

I have stayed in this hotel before so know what to expect. Zurich Hotels are mega expensive, but i think this is one for more of the bargain hunters. Rooms are clean, tidy and in good nick. The shower is hot and powerful. Televison works well and the staff are friendly and the hotel feels safe. You are at the top end of langerstrasse though you are […] not in the red-light district. Walking to the main station takes 10mins and is safe.# The negatives are the price of the restaurant (in keeping with Zurich) the cost of the internet (though it is free in the lobby) and the fact that my bed only had a single duvet, even though it was a double bed. "Extremely Satisfied - Hotel Xtra in Zurich"
I stayed at Hotel Xtra on 1st November and the first thing is that i was made to feel extremely welcome and although i arrived 3 hours prior to my agreed check in time, my room was made available at no extra expense. The Direktor and the staff were all great regarding directions and it was not only myself, they made everyone feel like they were at home. […] Even when i foolishly locked my passport in the safe, it was rectified without any fuss and immediately. I will now always use Hotel Xtra for my stays in Zurich and would thoroughly recommend this Hotel to anyone who requires somewhere that is home from home, close to the centre and very reasonably priced. When booking this hotel my main objectives were price and vicinity to the train station, both of which are pretty good. I was a bit worried about the area being the "red" district but we saw nothing that would cause concern. It is a nice clean, modern hotel with a fast working elevator. They had a free computer terminal in the lobby and breakfast downstairs for an up charge. My only complaint was the night club downstairs. Fortunately I was so tired that I fell asleep despite the pounding music. Very basic hotel looking like a student dorm with old carpet ,small metal table, a tiny TV attached to the sealing. asked for an extra piloow and never got it. No service of any kind. not very close to any attractions, but a tram is close to the hotel.

My 2 college age daughters and I stayed at the X-TRA Hotel in Zurich and were very satisfied. We found the front desk staff at check- in helpful and accomodating. The room had three twin beds that were comfortable and clean. Yes, there is some noise from the street since our room was on the side overlooking tram and street noise, but the front desk […] will provide free of charge ear plugs (however, we brought our own for our 4 week trek across Europe). The housekeepers were so helpful to me when I had difficulty using the laundry facility. Best of all was the manager (I think he was) who gave us valuable information to go to Lucerne and catch a boat tour and cable ride. Loved the entire experience. You must know that Switzerland is the most expensive country out of the 12 we visited, and we did pay more for this hotel than any other, but compared to the rates of the other ones, it was well worth the cost. The hotel is situated at excellent location. This would be my first choice in Zurich if some improvement are done. Like Air conditioning of rooms. Improvement in house keeping services and porter service.

"Ten minute walk from train station & Swiss museum"
This was a good hotel for just needing a place to stay while touring Zurich. It was an easy walk from the train station (about 10 minutes) if you are traveling light. Or there is also a tram that stops nearby if you prefer not to walk. It was also close to the Swiss History & design museums. The shower was big by European standards and the room was […] clean. We did not choose to purchase breakfast at the hotel, but there was a Starbucks at the end of our street, close to the train station. However, it was much more pricey than in the U.S. There are most quick food stands in the train station. Overall, our stay was fine & we'd stay there again. Mehr

This is on tram lines 4 and 13, or an easy walk from Hauptbahnhof and downtown. Try to get a back room, as the ones in front get the tram noise. Also there are shades on the outside of the windows which should be used, but they were not pointed out to me. I saw them next morning. Unlike most hotels in Switzerland, breakfast is not included.
