Found the staff to be cordial and helpful. The interaction between the staff in the registration desk and the restaurant was excellent.

Very pleased with my stay. Room was small, but I didn't need anything bigger. Price was right. Clean, comfortable. Staff was very nice.

We stayed here for one day and found this place to be nice. They gave us 2 queen beds for no extra charge. This place is next to Grand Central, so we can visit any place in Manhattan by Metro or by walk. Only minor thing, non issue to most people is the bathroom doesn't have exhaust fan.

This is a great hotel. Yes, rooms are small, but for Manhattan standards plenty of size. The location is extremely convenient being 1 block from Grand Central and a 6 block walk to Times Square. The rooms are very clean and our weekend stay was great. We would come back here in a heart beat. BTW - The pub next door is a great place for an afternoon […] or late night drink. Mehr

Great hotel near Grand Central station, within walking distance to a lot of great areas. Found the hotel very comfortable, but they didn't have a king and put us into a double that was ready. We found it clean and the bathroom very up to date. The check in area was a little strange (2 sit down desks) and the person who attended us could have been a […] little better trained. We stayed in two other hotels during this trip (Waldorf and Marriott Downtown) and found this one to be the best - both in character and comfort. Mehr

Great centrally located hotel very clean easy walk from Grand Central Tain Station staff friendly and helpful we had an inside room which we liked very quite!

This was the second visit to The Fitzpatrick and I was not disappointed. The room was small but comfortable and very clean. It was my Granddaughters suprise birthday present and the hotel staff made a real fuss of her even sending a cup cake to our room. Was a great deal on hotels.com. The location was perfect. The price was right. The staff was nice. Rooms aren't huge (come on, this is NYC), but there's more than enough space so that you don't feel like you're in a closet. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

I've stayed at the Fitzpatrick before and always find the personnel just a notch nicer than at many hotels. Facility is clean and well appointed, if not especially luxurious. Two minor negatives this time. First, I checked in around 11. Since room wasn't ready and I was going to return after midnight, I asked if they would put my luggage in the room […] when it was ready. They said they would do so, but when I got there around 1 am they still had to retrieve it from the checkroom. Second, I decided to try the Irish breakfast Sunday morning. When I arrived there was only one serverr, who seemed overwhelmed. I waited a long time to be seated, then sat for a long time waiting for a menu. I finally just left. Mehr

We've stayed at mostly Marriotts and Sheratons in Manhattan. So glad that we decided to try something new and that was Fitzpatrick Grand Central Hotel. Extremely comfortable, clean rooms. Friendly, courteous staff. Much more personalized experience. We will be back.

Just needed a place to crash for one night after a late dinner with friends. Decent rate, clean and comfy room (though small), nice bathroom, good location barely a block from Grand Central. Irish pub in-house.

Great location, comfortable room, and pleasant staff

It was nice to stay at the Fitzpatrick Grand Central again. The modest but charming lobby made us feel quite at home in mid-town Manhattan. The staff was very friendly. We found a problem with the furniture in our room and our bellman quickly moved us to another one. We like being in a smaller hotel and just across the street from Grand Central Station. […] We can get anywhere on the subway from there.There is quite a range of places to eat in the station and in the neighborhood. I stayed overnight in a Deluxe Guest Room. Nice decor. Room was compact - didnt feel tool small or cramped, though. Generous sized bathroom. Robe in bathroom was a nice touch. Wifi charge of $14.95 for 24 hours seems a little overpriced in this day and age. My room was at the end of the corridor, but I could still hear people all along hallway (noise […] carried a bit). We had a good stay. Only three problems, 2 big, and one small. There is no computer for guests to use on site. That is very difficult if need to print anything. The concierge gave us BAD directions. He was very nice, but told us the place we were going was about 6 blocks more East. We did not have an address, because he just drew the destination on […] the map. That was frustrating. The only small thing was there was no fridge in the room. We have stayed in like hotels; like the City Club or the Iraquois and they did, so we were expecting that. We had to wait 10 mins and then they finally gave us a room, but upgraded us to a king, which was very nice. All that aside. The number one thing for me in NYC...is cleanliness and no bed bugs. This hotel was spotless with no signs of critters. We would definitley stay there again....with portable printer in tow. Mehr

We loved the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location suited our needs.

This hotel was situated in a great location - it was convenient to the subway and hailing a cab on Lexington. Front desk service was good when we checked in - friendly and informative. Our flight landed earlier and we checked in slightly earlier to see if we could drop our bags off. Luckily, our guest service individual Dave was friendly and kind to […] have found a room that was cleaned already so we were able to check in. The room was very cute and comfortable for my friend and I, bed was super comfy! It was a 10-15 minute walk away from Port Authority and Time Square. All in all, the location, service, comfort of room was great! We'd love to come back again when we return to NY! Mehr

when we checked in, we were lead to believe tht we would have a room w/ 2 beds the following day as was the original regquest upon booking and checking in. the room was not changed and we had the same room after having packed up and returning at midnight - back to the same room. this room was next to the stairs and elevators and i complained that we […] got little sleep due to all the noise. the a/c didnt work in our room and there was a tremendous break down in communication within the staff. the only helpful person was John who did his best to help us on our last night. The Fitzpatrick is located close to Grand Central, good shopping and restaurants. We had a problem with the air conditioning, and the manager was very responsive to our concerns. Hotel is very clean and comfortable, nice amenities.

The staff were just excellent to deal with. The location was perfect for sight seeing & catching transportation. The room was exceptionally clean & comfortable. I will use this hotel again & recommend it highly!

A funky hotel with a few strange smelling areas. It isn't clean like the best five star hotels, but it has charm. The staff is mostly friendly some more than others. They made a mistake on a room service order and comped me the dinner free of charge which was a pleasant surprise. The food is hardly exotic but good enough to eat more than once or twice. […] I think it is a little like some small English hotels I have stayed at, being Irish in tone throughout. From pub to menu items, to employees, this is an Irish hotel. I enjoyed y stay and would return. I very nice hotel for the price they charge which is a bit of a deal certain days. We got a good rate for this hotel. It is located next to Grand Central Station, with a Duane Reade (drug store) 2 blocks away. The room was a bit smaller than expected, but it was very clean, and the bathroom was lovely. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and willing to help. There are many restaurants nearby. One thing many don't know is that […] at the bottom level of Grand Central there's a food court and then a wonderful food market on the Lexington side entrace of the station - fresh bread, sausages and cheese from all over the world, pastries, you name it. Great value but there is no fridge in the room, and no pay per view movies in-room. The room was functional and the beds were very comfortable. For the location it was a good price.

I was very, very happy with the hotel. The room was large, the bed comfortable, 2 bottles of water were provided free of charge, the staff courteous and professional. The location was great, right across from Grand Central. There is a wonderful courtyard restaurant next door, with access through the hotel. Great coffee shop next door, other easy access […] restaurants. Although we did not have any view from our room, I was pleased that it was completely quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to book another stay soon. Mehr

Great position - 10-20 mins from Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, Times Square, Broadway, etc, and literally over the road from Grand Central Station, giving access to all of Manhattan. Didn't hear any traffic noise from either of my rooms, both of which overlooked the street. I've been to over 30 countries, and the Fitzpatrick has the most comfortable […] beds I have EVER slept in. Had a great overnight stay! Only problem was the air conditioning stopped in the middle of the night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay again!

i stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in July.it had clearly gone through some re-modelling since my last stay there a few years ago.Check in was quick and easy.I was in room 614 on the 6th floor.I was pleasantly surprised at the good size of the room.No view but i didn't mind.The bed was very comfortable, pillows way too soft for my liking.I also was […] not a fan of the red leather headboard. It didn't quite fit in with the rest of the room. Bathroom was a good size with fresh towels everyday and a complementary bathrobe. The housekeeping service was very good. They appeared to clean the room around 3pm each day. Location wise- very quiet street and its right across the street from Grand Central Station. If you want to get to any of the major sites or shopping areas you have to take the subway as this hotel is not actually overly close to anything in particular. However, the subway is an excellent and quick way to get to where ever you need to go. Buy the 7 day unlimited metrocard for 29 dollars. I would definately stay here again in the future for the right price. Mehr

Good Location - Good Price...

This hotel lives up to its name, it is grand and central. Very reasonably priced and very comfortable. The staff was professional and I could not have asked for more.

This hotel is two steps from Grand Central. It's somewhat of a boutique small hotel. Neighborhood is good and close to subway, restaurants and other great NYC sites. The outdoor patio was a real surprise and treat. It was sandwiched between two buildings with a retractable roof to view the stars. It has heat lamps for the winter. I would stay there […] again. Staff is friendly, room was just what I expected, location is great, value is exceptional. The only minor downside is the tavern that uses the interior courtyard was a bit noisy. Not bad, but you couldn't call it quiet either.

I definitely recommend staying at this hotel. Good location, very comfortable, clean, quality room.

This hotel is a great find in a very convenient location. It is away from the congestion of the theater district and Times Square but only a short walk or ride from it! Rooms are well-appointed and staff were concerned with comfort and detail. Dinner in the restaurant (Wheeltapper) was very good and reasonably priced, with different entrees reflecting […] the Irish ownership/tradition of the hotel. Breakfast the next morning was something of a disaster with poor and inaccurate service. That was certainly a detractor, but will not keep up from staying at this property again. "Things happen," and I'll certainly give the benefit of the doubt for this single "faux pas." Overall a very nice hotel, a good value for the dollar, and well-located in a neighborhood that on the weekends is very quiet and low-key! Mehr

I go to NY a lot and had never stayed at the Fitzpatrick. The location, service, room and price were all above expectations. I understand rates can vary a lot based on demand, but this is one I will keep on my short list of favorites. The outdoor patio bar is very nice.
