Das Zimmer war fuer 3 Personen etwas klein. Das 3. Bett war auch nur ein Schlafsofa. Leider gabe es keine richtigen einzelnen Bettdecken: Nur eine Doppelbettdecke und eine einzelne Wolldecke mit Laken.

Faultless apart from one key fact! Hotels.com stated rooms contained one double and two single beds. Rooms actually contained one double, one double sofa bed and one mattress.

Nice hotel, good facilities, helpful staff, good breakfast, great central location. My only complaints were that the room was cold and although we were promised that a heater would be placed in the room, this did not happen. we have stayed here before great hotel should be a 4 plus as its of high standard close to the sights and bars resturants and trams,buses my mother stayed here too many times when she was alive and loved the hotel being a lady from Gent and got married in the town hall around the corner such wonderfull memories so central for the family and friends […] to call on us ,this hotel staff will bend over backwards to help you ,nothing is a bother everyone in there own role and are there to make your stay so comfortable and enjoyable hard to get this hotel you must be fast and the swiming pool in the summer superb Mehr

Location was great for going anywhere in Gent. The only small minus was that the hotel only offers double beds. The other bed mentioned was a opened sofabed. Both bed were comfortable though.

The room was large enough for a European room and the breakfast was quite delicious. However, the hotel had a sewer smell throughout and the cleaning staff never cleaned the toilet unless specifically asked to do so. Staff at the front desk was great and Maria in the restaurant was absolutely wonderful and pleasant.

Hotel is great. Right in the centre of town. Looks like its been recently refurbished too. Just be careful when driving to it. One side is pedestrianised and the other a little awkward to get to...Tom Tom managed to take me to the pedestrianised side so you will be better to call the hotel first. Parking on site is limited but there is a municipal car […] park 400m away. Don't let this put you off as this is fairly minor compared to the benefits of a nice clean hotel in the middle of town. The hotel is modern and has a wonderful central location. However, it is very expensive compared to other hotels we have stayed in. The breakfast shpould be included as standard.

A fantastic location in the heart of a gorgeous little Belgian gem. Everything was superb except for the night staff member who was annoyed we arrived late despite emailing the hotel and then refused to let us out of the hotel as it was too late! Ah well that aside it was great!

Lovely impromptu family break. Loved it. Breakfast a little pricey so, with so many great caves around, we'd recommend eating out. Will return.

I wasn't expecting this hotel chain to be such a high standard. Not quite as 'swish' as some of the other hotel chains but much, much better value for money. And it had a pool. Flawless location. The hotel is located next to the cathedrals, about two blocks from the River Leie. Almost any "tourist" site is within a quick walk. Although it is a bit of a hike, you can walk from the train station by simply following the tram lines back to within a block of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for the Ghent festival. We found the central location perfect for events. One of our party was feeling ill so could easily return to the hotel as necessary. The security was also excellent as they monitered people coming and leaving. The staff were extremely helpful and answered all queries offering suggestions. Exceptional service, nothing was too much to ask. Great central location, the pool area was lovely for relaxing. A free X-Box and computers in the lobby were an added bonus. I would stay here again.

We had a lovely family room on the 1st floor. Everything was clean and tidy and nicely decorated. There were only two things that let the experience down slightly: firstly there was a bad odour in some areas of the hotel - perhaps something to do with the drains and secondly there was quite a lot of late night shouting in the street below us, so I would […] recommend a room away from the main street entrance. The hotel was in a good location near the central square - however on arrival we were greeted daily by a terrible smell of raw sewage in the hotel lobby. I was allocated a room where the smell was completely unbearable ad made me feel ill. I did swap rooms to a beter one - however they are not exactly the cleanest in the word!!! This is an exceptional Hotel. I never write reviews normally but felt I should share this ! For a 3 * this is very impressive. We travelled as a family of 4 with an 11 yr old and 13 yr old sharing our room. We had a kingsize sofa bed for the kids that split into 2 singles....ideal. The buffet breakfast was wonderful ,with a huge choice and excellent […] standard. We normally stay in 4 or 5 * and could see no difference. ALL the staff were very friendly and quick to give local tips on where to visit. The kids loved the free Christmas chocolates and gifts on arrival and we couldn't pull them off the x box in reception ! We will definitely visit again as the kids eat and stay for free up to 16 years of age. Thanks for a lovely weekend. Mehr

This is the second time I have stayed here with the children. The value of this hotel is good for Belgium and Ghent is very nice. The kids ate free breakfast which makes it a good deal. Overall I found the hotel to be clean, rooms ok, beds comfortable, bathroom a bit worn, but pleasant enough.

Sadly lots of building/maintenance works going on everywhere. But it didn't stop our enjoyment of the music festival. Will be going back in a couple of years time so hopefully all the city improvements will be done by then and the hotel view will be vastly improved. Have stayed at this hotel several times now. I fully recommend that you book with B&B […] included before you go, as it is better value. The food choice in the morning is extensive and breakfast starts at 7 until 10.30am. Not so geared up in the evening though, but there are plenty of restaurants in the area to eat out in the evening. Overall a good choice of hotel, comfortable and central to everything going on in the city. Also brilliant double glazing blocks out the sound of the late hours music, so you do get some sleep regardless of all those late night revellers!!!! Mehr

This hotel was convenient to all sights. An excellent place to stay in ghent. We were there for the start of the festival and were sorry that we couldn't have stayed longer. The breakfast was good. The rooms were well organised and the staff very very helpful. Overall very pleased with the accommodation.

This is a very well maintained hotel. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Front desk extremely helpful. Breakfast was great. It is in the center of all of the action and close to several tram stops. Also reasonable price for its location.

Cons: Getting there by car is a bit of a nightmare due to the many one way systems and pedestrian areas in Gent. We had to ask someone to find the hotel (my Tom Tom did not find its location). It was midnight when i arrived with our 2 children and the check-in was quick and easy. Tried to order room service but nobody answered the telephone so we went […] to bed hungry which was a real shame. There is a massive building site right outside the hotel so you cannot drive your car anywhere near it (luckily we only had hand luggage). We parked in the nearby Vrijtagmarkt car park from where it's a 5 minute walk and only stayed one night. Pros: Having said all that, the centre of Gent is a beautiful place and I'm sure once they finish the massive building works, it will be easier to access the hotel as its location is brilliant! I would give it a 5 rating then. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, kids ate and stayed for free which was an excellent bonus. The beds and room were comfortable and I would definitely stay again particularly as I want to spend longer in Gent. Top Tip: If you are going to stay here with children, make an effort to visit the castle which is only 5-10 minute walk. It's fabulous (I'll write a separate review on tripadvisor.) Mehr

The Novotel is in a great downtown location with access to bus and tram service extremely closeby. The only downside is that the hotel is next to a huge building site. We traveled over the weekend so cannot report how noisy the site may be.
