Zimmer war laut, Internet im Zimmer funktionierte nicht, nach Beschwerde wurde darauf verwiesen, dass man diesen Service ausgelagert habe, die Servicenr. war am Wochenende nicht erreichbar, trotz geschlossenem Pool wurde eine Resortfee von $25,- plus Steuern erhoben, Parkplätze waren weit weg. Anspruch und Wirklichkeit klafften weit auseinander. Sind nach 2 Tagen ins Bar Harbor Inn umgezogen.

Ist ja irgendwie romantisch in kleinen Cottages oder Gartenhäuschen zu übernachten und wenn sie so gepflegt, sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet sind wie hier, erst recht. Wenn sie allerdings ungschützt direkt neben der Landstraße stehen, ist es doch etwas laut. Die Lage ist ansonsten perfekt, nicht weit vom Nationalpark und doch noch bezahlbar. Vor 11 Uhr abends, wenn die Autos weniger werden ist allerdings an Schlaf nicht zu denken.

Enjoyed seeing family and theprice was right at this motel so Pool was nice hottub even better staff friendly place needs some updating but hand drawn murals were beaUtiful and should never be covered would recommend this place!!!

"Cheap price and convinient"
Don't expect too much for the price you paid. Don't get ne wrong, the place is ok. Close to shops and close to tourist areas and Acadia National Park.

Wonderful to find a room in the middle of winter priced at off season rates. My overnight stay was for business and I found the room clean and comfortable. The Thai restaurant next door was excellent.

We found our stay very comfortable . Pool and hot tub were clean and inviting. Staff were very accomodating to our special needs. Price was very acceptable. Would return without question.

The only reason the Colonial Inn is able to charge what it does is because of its proximity to Acadia National Park. In the winter, when the park is closed, that rate should be much, much lower. The hotel badly needs to be updated. The hot tub was filthy - brown foam, and pubic hairs floating in it. I would find a cheaper hotel. They charged too much for one night and didn't have a complementary breakfast.
"A motel desperately needing updating"
We were given a room that overlooked a propane tank and a tractor. The room looked like it hadn't been updated since the 60s. The A/c was a box in the wall that din't cool the room properly. Convenient to Bar Harbour, otherwise a basic hotel. Cheap and ok for one night.
Way overpriced for what you get. Checked into 1st room, sliding door would not lock. asked front desk for screwdriver to fix, had none. Checked into room #2, sliding door would not lock either. Checked back into room #1, went to parts store and bought screwdriver and weld putty and fixed door myself. Too far from Acadia, sits on 1 way street. Because we needed 2 rooms with 2 beds each, this limited our choice of motels and this was one of the least expensive in the area. But it was old and one of the rooms reeked of cigarette smoke. The staff, however, was very pleasant and we were surprised to find a Continental breakfast available.

The Colonial Inn is a motel located in Ellsworth on the way to Acadia. It's location was excellent and staff were polite. However, the place was a little run down and is a no frills establishment. The carpets were dirty and our room smelled.

Loved our stay. Slept better than usual on the mattress. Pool and hot tub were great. Grandson wants to live there permanently. Only drawback was smell of cigarettes in room. We will definitely stay again.

Overall picked hotel due to price and location to Acadia National Park. Only real issue with hotel was noise due to a nearby restaurant that went on till 12-2 in the morning which wasn't great when you were trying to sleep. It's a bit dated but clean. Otherwise wouldn't mind staying there again.

"OK but not more"
The carpets and furniture were tired-looking and the staff, very very casual. It was a bit pricey for a basic hotel, but it was one of the cheapest places we could find in high season. Our room in the back building was surprisingly quiet though. It was good enough.

Spacious rooms, mini-fridge was a good addition, accommodating hotel staff. Getting to the hotel very easy from Bangor, but very complicated from Bar Harbor. Pool charge of $6 was not a nice surprise.

Room was clean, price fair and the location great for a visit to Acadia National Park, Maine. We were on a budget and this made the trip possible for us!

Average hotel for average rates. This is not a first class resort but what can you expect for the inexpensive rates. Very accommodating for my Boston Terrier at no extra charge. Comfortable beds. Within 20 Minutes to Acadia National Park. This is a hotel that local people can rent a room for week or month so many locals hang around; but they are friendly […] and tend to leave tourists alone.
