Super 8 Clinton Ia - Clinton

Going into the stay, I knew it wasn't going to be a five star resort, but I was shocked by how awful it really was. The bed was a mattress with a sheet on it and was somehow lumpy and hard at the same time. The room was half underground and everything was damp and had a musty smell all the time. The tub in the bathroom had a ring of mold around the […] drain. The worst thing, though, was the smell. Granted, it's not the hotel's fault that it is RIGHT NEXT TO A FACTORY, but the exhaust from that filled the room with a smell that can only be described as burning garbage with extra diapers. If I'm ever out there again, I'll shell out the few extra bucks a night to stay somewhere else, or sleep in my car. Mehr

The service was okay and the room was clean; however, it smelled like manure in the parking lot. The smell was so bad that they actually put air fresheners on top of the a/c units in the hotel so it wouldn't smell as bad. To the hotel's credit, the air freshener made a HUGE difference. Well to start with reserved rooms weeks in advance, Got there staff very friendly, got rooms went to rooms seen air was on as low as it would go thought just turned on, went to go to freshen up and turned faucet on which came off in my hand. Called down to front desk they said they would have maintance check it out and when he came he said its been […] like that for a while. Im like really. Well they had no more rooms so I thought oki I can live with this. Then left came back hotter than hell in room still, air didnt work, tv remote didnt work, then went to take shower and no shampoo or soap, Called front desk again and they said sorry were out but will try to find you something. This was the worst hotel ever. The great contential breakfast was also very lame. Kept running out of coffee, and all they served was cereal and bagels. They had one piece of fruit in bowl which was there for two days. I emailed and also tried to contact the general manager and still no response. I highly recommend you do not stay at this super 8 EVER!!!!!! Mehr

We were notified at the last minute that our reservations were cancelled! We were moved to the Regency Inn and Convention center. The rooms were in rough shape and the continental breakfast was probably the worst that we have ever had. Not a very good overall experience

The room smelled of cigarette smoke, could hear every time the neighbors left thier rooms. The bar next store was loud and rowdy, had police there twice in two hours I will not be staying here again.

The hotel was extremely noisy with someone walking above my room back and forth all evening stumping on the floor as they walked. The ceiling felt as if it would collapse. I got the same feeling as I walked on the hall way floors back and forth to my room. There was a bar less than 50 feet outside my window. The bar and parking lot was extremely noisy […] until I took sleeping pills to fall asleep. I have never been so unsatisfied in my entire life of traveling. It appeared as if arguements outside of the bar at some point would escalate into shootings. It was actually a very frightening experience as well. I'm shocked! Mehr

I had a great experience during my stay, I was able to check-in early and hotel staff was very freindly and helpful. the morning breakfast consisted of serve your self waffles and cold cereal as well as fruit yogurt and assorted pastries as well as coffee juice and tea. My room was freashly cleaned and looked like it even had a mint on the pillow, […] Hotel was very quiet. this is a must stay hotel especially if on a budget Mehr

The hotel was very clean and inviting. Unfortunately it is located next to a sports-bar. It is not the Hotel's fault that the patrons of the sports-bar got rowdy in the middle of the night. This Super 8 is not a bad place to stay for a short stay and the price is right. On our night the hotel was sold out and the place was noisey all night long. I think there were just some inconsiderate guests. There was not enough hot water in the morning for the full hotel so our showers were cold. There is not much for their free breakfast but they […] do have hot waffles. Mehr

Except for hotels.com canceling my reservation 2 hours before arrived, it was fine. They got me another room. I didn't spend a lot of time there. The water was hot. The sink hadn't been ran in a while because when I turned it on, it smelled like old water. But nothing major.

Staff was friendly

The Clinton, IA Super 8 has by far been my favorite Super 8. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was quaint even though it is a chain. Breakfast was perfect for our family of 4!

This was a quick overnight stop for us on a motorcycle ride during the Memorial Day weekend. On a tight budget, we chose to book this room. Our expectations for the price were met - clean room, easy check-in, nice staff. The only negative experience was choosing "Diet Soda" in the vending machine and receiveing regular! I'll take it!

since i do alot of booking with hotel.com i didnt think i would find this quality of a hotel when we got there. they other couple with us were very disappointed. the fellow has hip problems so clinbing up to 3rd floor to look at the room was not a good thing. we could write our names on the tv screens it was very dusty and the house keeper just kinda […] laughted about it. so we left and had to pay twice the price since we didnt have other reservations.. sorry, not good Mehr

Bring your earplugs...one side of the hotel is next to railroad tracks with trains running by on the hour all night, the other side is next to a sports bar with people partying and yelling till the cows come home. When we were there the outside key card door was out of order, we had to stand outside in freezing weather several minutes to get inside […] because nobody was at the front desk(we had to call motel clerk with our cell phone to get someone to come to the door to let us in) Mehr

The rooms were very nice and clean. Our remote did not work. They tried to replace batteries, still didn't. Could have given us a working remote. Bathroom was clean.

to start with. The after hours entry door did not work ALL WEEK. The bar behind the hotel had a LIVE BAND IN THE PARKING LOT!! The cleaning staff did not remember to put new trash bags in the cans, did not vacumm the floor, even left a cleaning rag on my night stand. The recliner chairs reclining handle was broke off.
