Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb von der Innenstadt & an einer viel befahrenen Straße, die man auch Nachts hört. Wenn man nur ein paar Tage in Washington DC verbringen will & etwas knapp bei Kasse ist reicht dieses Hotel zum Übernachten völlig aus. Die Zimmer sind ok & werden täglich gereinigt. Geht so......

Das Hotel liegt an einer stark befahrenen Strasse und ist deswegen etwas laut. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis für einfaches Reisen mit dem Auto stimmt. Das Morgenessen war ebenfalls in Ordnung (für amerikanische Verhältnisse)

There were some cobwebs in corners of the room, and the neighborhood isn't the best. The hotel was, however, a five-minute walk from the Florida Ave, Metro stop (on the Red Line).

it was ok for the price... clean & comfortable is important and it was.

The room was very noisy and adjacent to the main street.

The previous comments we reviewed before booking this hotel were for the most part true. It could have been cleaner but was a value compared to other hotel prices. We did get a room further back from the street that helped with the noise. We called the hotel very lost in DC one night and the gal that answered patiently helped us for at least 20 minutes. […] She was marvelous. I doubt you would get that patience from a bigger expensive place. We had no problem with taking the Metro and thought other negatives were unwarranted. Mehr

Good service and nice staff, but we got stuck in a smoking room. We stunk the next day, so did everything that was in the room with us.

The hotel itself is a very good value for the price, but it's a little hard to get to while the nearby road is under construction. If you are driving, it's fine, but if you're taking the Metro, be prepared for a 10-15 minute walk including a steep hill. Over the course of my 3-day stay, the temperature fluctuated by about 40 degrees, but the room was […] comfortable at all times anyway (both AC and heat worked well). The hotel is what you would expect from a Quality in a so-so enighborhood of DC. The room was normal, fairly clean, The bed wasn't the best i've slept on, the pillows were small but it was what it was for the price. However the noise level was such that it was almost impossible to sleep. (one night I didn't sleep more than an hour, and one about 3). […] I was near the ice machines so the constant people outside plus the traffic noise from the road sounded like they were in the room with me. Plumbing noises as well. Perhaps the rooms farthest from the road ar a bit better but it's not worth the risk. The metro isn't that close to this hotel either. Stay farther out from DC but close to a metro station and you'll be better off. Mehr

The hotel was a disgrace there was drug activity prostitution going on I was mortified.the room was dirty the sheets werent changed the bathroom was small I was very disappointed with the hotel the food that was served was outdated the breads wrapper had use by February 4th and it was the 22nd of February.i will never go to that hotel again I feared […] for the life of myself as well as my family. The corner room we stayed in with one king bed had a uniqe floor plan that made room feel nice & big.

I had a very late check-in close to midnight and appreciated that hotels.com put a note in my reservations to guarantee that I would have a non-smoking room. The front desk personnel were polite and they were behind bullet-proof glass as other reviewers mentioned. I noticed that gas stations and other businesses close by had the same set-up of bullet-proof […] glass so I was not too shocked. Just use caution and common sense anywhere you go and you should be fine. In case you are wondering, I am a female on a business trip and did not feel scared during my stay. It was an extremely cold winter's night and the heater was on when I arrived which made the room very warm and cozy. The bed was comfortable with clean sheets. The furniture looked old-style and the carpeting had a somewhat worn out condition. Definitely wear slippers or socks! I can usually overlook that kind of thing since I am on a budget but if you are looking for something more fancy, this is not the place for you. The towels were clean and there was the usual soap, shampoos, and lotions provided free of charge. The bathroom had a tub and toilet only. The sink, mirror, coffee pot, and hair dryer were located on the outside of the bathroom. Water pressure and heating/ cooling elements were fine for the shower. I liked that there was a small refrigerator and microwave to store and heat the food I brought with me. The microwave had an old style turn knob rather than the digital kind but was easy to use (make sure it is plugged in first). The t.v. was o.k. but I only watched the weather forecast. My major complaint was that there was a huge ironing board but no iron anywhere in the room. I put my clothing in a nice suit bag and they were not too wrinkled but it would have been nice to do a quick touch-up ironing of at least the shirt. I did not complain since I didn't have much time so I used the heat from the hair dryer on the front of the shirt and it looked good. If you have time, I would suggest asking the Mehr

It is a Motel a little away from public transport but apart from that it is good value. Taxi to Union Station 12.00

The hotel is excellent given the price, which is less than a quarter of what some hotels charge just two miles away. The hotel is physically unimpressive, with a dilapidated exterior, but there is nothing wrong with it, and the rooms are clean and have all the usual hotel amenities. Did not feel safe walking home from Subway, although we did not encounter any problems, I did not feel that safe, it was not a nice area and a long way from any sites.

When I sat in the ONLY comfortable area to work on my laptop, as the crews cleaned the rooms, I was told I had to move to the lobby because the "Breakfast Area is closed...that's policy." So I was moved from an EMPTY room with dozens of seats into a lobby crowded with luggage and THREE chairs...when I pointed this out to the Manager, I was basically […] dismissed from the conversation. Smoking in an adjacent room was very irritating. Use of marijuana was obvious.

Hotels.com was the best part of this experience - accurate, efficient and helpful (including the email reminder). The reception clerk was friendly and helpful with providing a telephone book through the security window. The hotel entrance did have an accessible computer with internet access. I had come to visit the Capitol Building and the Whitehouse […] - which do not allow luggage. I found the hotel after long walk in the rain through a rundown neighborhood away from everything with some abandoned and boarded up houses and an intimidating empty warehouse district, no restaurants in sight, service counter with a sign notifying that check in is not before 2 pm and checkout is before 11 am - and they will not accommodate luggage storage outside these times, the swimming pool closes in August even though it was very hot and humid here at the end of September, the breakfast was only cold food and cheap, I found 2 cockroaches on my shower curtain and homeless people all night outside my door and at the ice machine. I have found better quality and more convenient accomodations elsewhere. Mehr

When we arrived the person on front desk was on the phone and didnt even look up or acknowledge us for over five minutes as we stood there waiting. When they finally did we were checked in through hand gestures while he remained on the phone, VERY rude. We were put in a smoking room and it STANK so badly it made us feel ill, but were told we couldnt […] change rooms. The bed was comfortable but the smell still made it hard to sleep. There were 2 cockroaches in the bathroom, gross. The breakfast was good but the breakfast attended was also SO RUDE, when we asked for more cream cheese she first ignored us, and then when we repeated her request she literally snapped back at us! She was wearing a gross dirty apron as well, and she sat at the only free table watching the TV, so we had take our breakfast back to the smelly smoke room - not good. The location of the hotel is also rubbish, although it is close to a metro station you still have to walk 10 minutes through a smelly dirty warehouse neighbourhood. I would never reccomend this place, especially as we have stayed in other quality inns which have been ten times better than this. Mehr

The staff was friendly, the room served it's purpose. I wouldn't have enjoyed spending more than a night or two there. The complimentary breakfast wasn't anything to get excited over, but nice that it was offered. It was a place to lay our head before heading home.

When I first arrived at the quality hotel I was approached by a very nice receptionist who was warm and welcoming. It was a good start to a vacation in a country I was unfamiliar with. I did not have such a good experience with the other reception workers. One of which gave me the wrong directions and another was unfamiliar with the tourist attractions. After […] checking in I went to my room and unpacked and opened the internet which was free to occupants. However, I discovered my internet connection was down. After reporting the bad internet connection and being in contact with the internet provider I discovered my connection was very very low and often times would not upload a webpage. This was very frustrating to me as I was in Washington for a research conference and needed the internet to prepare. I also found a few bugs in my hotel room which made me very uncomfortable. Mehr

The room needed maintenance. The person working the breakfast set up gave an impression that everyone was inconveniencing them and we should eat elsewhere. The room needed maintenance. The door seal was loose. The shower needed sealing. The location was in a terrible traffic jam area. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Except for the close distance to the city highlights the whole stay was a nightmare. The room's carpet was soaking wet when we arrived and the whole room stank as if a cat had peed in every corner. The breakfast room has 17 chairs serving for 97 rooms. It was crowdy in it like during rush hour in the metro. We asked two times for the manager to complain […] but he/she never appeared. This hotel was fairly priced for the quality of the room, but it is in a very unsafe area. The parking lot is very well lit, but very crowded. Breakfast was always very crowded so go early if you can. This is an older hotel that needs some TLC. Most of staff was very friendly, and in fairness to them there were some rooms that probably had way too many […] people staying in them and they were trying to feed the whole room for the whole day off of the free breakfast. The hotel was not what I anticipated. The room smelled of urine. The plug outlets did not work. There was no alarm clock in the room. The hotel was not well kept. I will not stay at the Quality Inn at this location again.

This was by far the most digusting, filthy, unsafe and poorly located hotel that we have ever stayed in. Unsafe area

People at front desk are very nice! Great location, walking distance from metro and Capitol! We are going back soon and will choose this hotel again.

quality inn, washington, dc within walking distance to most attractiions. at the time of my visit thee ny avenue bridge was under repair and a walking detour was needed. the continental breakfast was a big disappointment. no fruit, only corn flakes or fruit loops for cereal selection, mini bagels with cream cheese or toast with i thing butter and jelly. […] weak coffee, the list goes on. would recommend to friends, but tell of its failings. the worst hotel

The hotel is not well kept. It hallways smell of urine especially downstairs. I was formally given a room downstairs, but due to the odor I asked to be moved to another room.

It was not the same as in the pictures...it was ok but not what I expected...the beds were too small as well as the room. And we were put all the way in the back and in the dark. The view was terrible...it was power lines and a fence that we saw out the window...and the air condition was not working properly.

This place was just average. Just what I expected for a sight unseen, over the telephone generic reservation. Close to downtown DC with straight easy access. Room was small, carpet worn, kinda smelly (they tried to cover it up with carpet fresh) which made it worse. Bed not that comfortable, pillows were too small., I fully realize this is not nor is […] it trying to be, nor did they charge like a four or five star hotel.The receptionist at the front who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Nice lady! Breakfast was provided, again just what I expected, but it was laid out poorly, and people had to keep going from one side to the other and back to the middle in order to get the food, utensils, plated, napkins, and condiments. The hotel comfort was great. However, the construction made it impossible to walk and taxicab services was slow.

I had a trouble! I think the manager's head is filled with $20 bill. - As a result, my family(2 kids and wife) and I had to stay at lobby(6ft x 10ft, 2 chairs and small bench only) >90min at night when I came back from one-day walk. I went on vacation trip and stayed there. On the 2nd day, 8:00PM, when I came back to the hotel, the door lock was broken […] so couldn't opened. I requested Manager to have another room for us until he fix th e door. My family were tired out so wanted to lay down to take a rest. However, the manager refused my request and had us wait at lobby. He called a guy to fix the lock but the guy would take 45 min to arrive, and stil not sure when he can complete or if he can fix. The guy came in at 9:35PM, he opened the door at 9:45PM. He tried to fix it until 10:45PM but couldn't fix it. From 8:00PM-10:45PM, My family were patient. Next day, the hotel changed my room,,,, !? The manager discounted only $20! - not received yet. I think this is terrible decision. I verified those decisions were made by the manager. I didn't want money, I wanted to take a rest for my family. I don't think there is "customer service" on the manager. I never heard "Sorry for our inconvenience" from the manager. While I was staying at lobby, several customer came to reception and said they had problem on door lock. Would better to go others if you expect "taking a rest or be relax" for a hotel. In case of accident, the manager makes customer unconfortable to save some $$. There may be so much risk. Mehr

The room was very cold the unit did not work properly. Under the door you can feel the cold air.

The location of this hotel is very convenient. The neighbor hood is on the edge of scary but ok. Convenient to train station but don't recommend staying there in winter as the through wall heaters don't warm the room up enough. This is an early design motel with outside car parking. It has been re-done inside and is probably ok in the summer. The heater/air […] conditioner is not strong enough for the room. Mehr
