This is a no-frills hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was very inexpensive, the staff was courteous, the room was very clean. Breakfast was very basic, just milk., (fake) juice, coffee, muffins and cereal, but you can't ask for more for the room price.This hotel is within walking distance of ASU/Barrett, so it was convenient for us. I have stayed […] at a different hotel across the street (something University), and it was terrible, where I decided to leave a day earlier and loose a prepaid night because I could not stand the smell. Overall, I will stay at this hotel on my upcoming visits. Mehr

All was quite good and the price and quality did match.

Bad mattress but okay for a cheap overnight stay.

Nice place for the price especially if you can avoid the rooms in the back as the hotel borders a rundown apartment complex.

Facilities were adequate for the price; good location relative to the university

This Hotel is very close to the ASU campus so if you are looking to visit the campus it is with in walking distance. The hotel was overall in great shape and the staff seemed friendly. I was happy with my stay.

Everything was very satisfactory besides the extremely slow wireless internet connection

Good hotel, very convenient and close to students at ASU.. A little noisy on our side because of the highway and rail line but that didn't keep us awake. Our second time there and I am sure not our last.

Now I know Motel 8 isn't top of the line but even by their standards this one is far from nice... Someone (my guess is employee) has a bowl of water under their truck attracting all the stray cats...

Upon checking in and going to my room, I discovered that the bed was half made, with one pillow thrown in the middle fo the bed. When I looked at the sheets, the top sheet was stained, and did not smell fresh. There were three clean, fresh-smelling towels in the shower/tub/toilet room, however there were two used hand towels on the vanity. The room […] had a strange odor. When I went to the Office, the clerk was SUPER ncie and very apologetic. He assigned me another room, which was satisfactory and clean. The breakfast was marginal, with nothing hot, nor any fresh fruit. I would recommend this facility for a very budget-minded individual. It was acceptable, but certainly not very nice, nor in great condition. It was older and showed the age. Again, the clerk was very nice and apologized the next morning when I checked out. Maintenance and room service were not his responsibility. Also, the computer was down during checkout and he could not give me a copy of my room charges. He did e-Mail me a copy later on, which I received when I arrived home, however it did not include the total amount of charges, which I will located at my credit card company, on line. Mehr

You pay for what you get!

Room smelled, linen was in bad shape. Furniture was outdated even back in the 80's. Surrounding area was ghetto and towels smelled as if they hadn't been washed. Avoid this place because there may be bed bugs or other parasites in the rooms. I slept on top of the bed's comforter and used my jacket to cover the pillow because of the despicable condition […] of the rooms linens.....whew stay clear of this joint! Mehr

my five year old found a benidryl on the floor next to the bed and i also found some change on the floor around the beds so obviously the mades didnt vaccume very well and while we were laying down my wife got up to check on our daughter and found a bed bug crawling on the sheets.....we had a hard time sleeping with the knowledge of the bugs in the […] rooms Mehr

If you need a hotel for a night and are on a budget this isn't too bad. there is a holiday inn express literally across the street, and I would probably stay there over this one if I had the money. The room wasn't too bad, a little dirty (scuff marks on walls under the sink, work carpet. stuff like that), but it's an old hotel, what do you expect. Clean and inexpensive, this location is perfect if all you need is a bed, TV, good shower and an Internet connection. Great service was a bonus!

Good location, helpful staff. Was not impressed when I saw a toilet plunger outside of the room next to mine.

I wasn't expecting much as I have stayed at this chain in the past, however, I have to say I was more than pleased with this particular hotel. The room was large, clean, comfortable and modern--not my previous experience at this chain. The bed was very comfortable too, which was a pleasant surprise, along with the decent complimentary continental breakfast. […] The staff was courteous and accommodating. nice, comfortable, had a pleasant stay.

Due to extraordinary circumstances I was in desperate need of accommodation for a couple of nights. Local motels were all either full or charging more than I ideally wished to pay? It's 'snowbird season' here in the far SE valley and so a search of the 'net revealed Motel 8 as one of my more affordable options. On arrival the night clerk was very friendly […] and helpful and the room was exactly what I neede and even offered wi-fi, a fridge, and coffee making facilities. There was an outdoor heated pool and hot tub - but I never used either. Generally I was impressed and the all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Well tempe is not that far from scottsdale, With penty of Shoping a great eating places very close. So if SHe doesn't want go look at the cars.

The hotel is very affordable and is in a convenient location.

I walked in the lobby and the place smelled like raw onions from the clerk not washing himself I guess. The room he checked us into at first smelled like dogs, the Refrigerator was leaking water. They checked us into another room after the clerk had a attitude and the room was much better. They didn't change the sheets daily and the towels were like […] sand paper. I had to walk to the front desk for a iron and board. It was the worse hotel experience We have ever had. Mehr

Nothing extravagant, just the basics. You get all that you need and nothing that you don't. Comfortable, reasonably clean and maintained. Great location for being a short drive to anything on campus and more and the mass transit train was a 10 minute walk to pick up terminal. You can't compalin about the price. There really isn't anything to the breakfast […] however, cereal or toast...just the basics. All in all, perfect for what we were looking for to be in town for a college bowl game and some shopping. Our room was unexpectedly large and very nice, and the pool and hot tub area were well maintained. The hotel is a short walk from the light rail and within easy driving distance (and plausible walking distance) of Mill Avenue. There were some towels in our room that didn't look like they'd been cleaned though. But overall, it was a great value for […] the price. Mehr

We were pleasantly surprised at the location, cleanliness, and accommodations of this hotel. Normally we stay at Motel 6, but from now on Super 8s will be our first choice.

No variety to breakfast. Fruit and/or orange juice would have been nice. Unsweetened cereal was not a choice. There was no heat in the room

Spacious and clean room over looking the pool. Walking distance to ASU REC and mill.

My first impression wasn't the best with a broken-down car parked in front of the lobby entrance but the lobby itself and the desk clerk were bright and welcoming. The room was pretty clean except the shower drain was full of hair. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet all night and the location wasn't bad being across the street from a light […] rail stop. I felt safe as a single female. Mehr

I am not a demanding traveler, but the Super 8 exceeded all my expectations. The room, pool and heated spa were immaculate. Even though it is near the downtown Phoenix airport, the jet noise was scarcely noticeable. Traffic on the street out front was light, perhaps because the nearby university was out of session. Even the corners in the bathroom were clean. That's a first. Linens were a little old, but very clean. Pretty good breakfast although I would have liked to have a nice warm waffle with a little syrup, or a toasted bagel.

I stayed two nights on business. The room was comfortable and clean. That is the most important thing to me. Transportation is the only issue. I had no car so i did not pay the fee to park, however, shuttle is contracted so they only allow two trips. I like to walk, however, pedestrians are prohibited under the runway.

This hotel is a nice place to stay for a few nights. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. They even opened the pool up early so our daughter could swim. Breakfast was very limited, but enough to get you going. The bed was very comfy and clean. The room was dirty on the walls with smudges and things like that. our room stank and you could tell that it had been a while since the last thorough cleaning was made. There are cleaner options available in the area at around the same price. Do some research before booking.

The bed was so comfy and the location was great! right around the corner from Mill Avenue and tons of food stops and stores withing a minute of walking. Staff was great, breakfast was substantial. Hot tub worked well but didnt use the pool, too cold. Would def stay here again :) We stayed with our baby too, there was enough room. Only downer where the […] towels.
