Gutes Hotel, in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Wallstreet , am südlichsten Ende des Broadway. Sehr nette Bedienung. Enges aber sauberes Zimmer mit zwei Kingsize-Betten.

Großes Zimmer, gute Betten. Bei Zimmern nach hinten raus kann man bei offenem Fenster schlafen. Internet fürs Zimmer zu teuer. Im Bad leichter Renovierungsstau. Frühstück im Hotelrestaurant empfehlenswert, sehr nette Bedienung. Infostand für Sightseeing im Hotel sehr gut. Karten tlw. kostenfrei. Mexik. Pub +Chinarestaurant ca. 200 m entfernt. U-Bahn ca. 400m weg.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel. Das Zimmer war sauber, zweckmäßig und der Service freundlich und aufmerksam. In direkter Nähe befinden sich viele Sehenswürdigkeiten (Stock Exchange, 9/11 Memorial, Trinity Church) und man erreicht 3 verschiedene Subway-Stationen innerhalb weniger Gehminuten. Außerdem die Fähre nach LongIsland bzw. den Anleger für die Boote zur Freiheitsstatue und Elis Island. Da an der Wallstreet Abends/ Nachts nicht ganz so viel los ist, kann man - für NYC-Verhältnisse - relativ ruhig schlafen, v.a. im Vergleich mit der Gegend rund um den TimesSquare usw. Ein kleines, aber feines, familiengeführtes (so schien es) Hotel, dass wir auf alle Fälle weiterempfehlen würden!

Hotel liegt phänomenal gut, die Gesamtanlage und der Service sind sehr gut. Allerdings hatte man uns zuerst ein viel zu kleines und stark verschmutztes Zimmer im 3. Geschoss mit dem Auslass der Großklimaanlage direkt vor dem Fenster angeboten (Lärm!), das war auch so nicht gebucht. Reklamation war aber sofort möglich und iwr bekamen ein anderes Zimmer, das dann sehr schön war.

"2x Zimmerwechsel!"
Das Hotel ist zwar von der Lage her super, leider mussten wir die Zimmer 2x wechseln!!! Beim ersten Zimmer war der Teppich am Boden durchnässt, die Duschtücher waren nass, das Fenster ging nicht zu, die Kloschüssel war schmutzig. Beim zweiten Zimmer war die Hygiene besser, hat aber total nach abgestandenem Rauch gestunken. Ich bin wirklich überhaupt […] nicht heikel, habe auch schon in einigen Backpackers übernachtet, aber für den Preis finde ich es daneben, was die einem für Zimmer anbieten! Der Zimmerwechsel ansich war Problemlos, es gab keine Diskussion (da das Personal anscheinend selbst weiss,dass die Zimmer nicht okay sind). Da die Lage super ist, würde ich vielleicht wieder gehen, nur werde ich von Anfang an ein Zimmer in den oberen Stockwerken verlangen, je höher desto besser wurde mir gesagt! ;) Mehr

Das Hotel mit seinen Zimmern hat schmutzigen Gefängnischarakter. Keine ordentliche Heizung,zerrisene Bettwäsche, kaputtes altes Interieur, Fenster die nicht schliessen, etc.etc. Dieses Hotel nützt natürlich aus, daß es mitten in NYC liegt. Eine cash cow für die Besitzer !!! unempfehlenswert - bin nach einer Nacht ausgezogen, habe jedoch leider 3 Nächte […] im Voraus bezahlt ! Mehr
"Ideale Lage, sogar zu Fuss kann man viel erreichen"
Die Lage des Hotels ist wirklich genial. Zu Fuss und mit der Subway ist man schnell an den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten. Das Hotel ist relativ alt und nicht renoviert worden, deshalb ist der Zustand der Zimmer und Badezimmer nicht mehr so gut. Jedoch wird es vom Hotelpersonal geputzt und ist trotzdem sauber. "Tolle Lage mit bester Anbindung"
Das Hotel ist bereits etwas in die Jahre gekommen, dementsprechend sind die Zimmer - tw. bröckelt Farbe von den Wänden und sind Spiegel locker montiert. An Sauberkeit mangelt es jedoch nicht. Aufgrund der Größe ist es sehr unpersönlich und kann auf spezielle Wünsche nicht eingegangen werden. Das Frühstück kann man sich sparen! Es wird ein kleines Zimmer […] mit einigen Tischen als Frühstücksraum deklariert - die Auswahl ist gering und wenn man Pech hat, muss man im Stehen essen. Die Lage ist allerdings bestens! Direkt an der Penn Station mit Anschluss an mehrere U-Bahn und Buslinien. Zu Fuß kann man bequem den Times Square od. das Empire State Building erreichen. Für alle, die nicht zu großen Wert auf Komfort legen, sollten die Lage und der Preis ausschlaggebend für die Wahl dieses Hotels sein. Mehr
"Hotel sehr zentral gelegen"
Hotel liegt sehr zentral und Nähe der Subwaystation,Times Square und Empire State Building.Aber Zimmer sind alt, nicht gerade sauber und sehr dunkel,eigentlich renovierungsbedürftig .Das personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. wer ein günstiges Hotel im Zentrum such ist bei diesem Hotel genau richtig.
"Hotel Pennsylvania ist schrecklich"
Wir mussten 25 Minuten bis zum Einchecken warten. Wir kamen in das Zimmer, der Teppich war schimmlig. Also berichtete ich das dem Empfang. Als ich zurückkam, öffnete mein Bruder den Schrank, um fernzusehen, fiel ihm die Tür in die Hände. Also verfasste ich einen zweiten Bericht, und nichts wurde gemacht.

Wir übernachteten hier die erste Nacht unserer Flitterwochen. Die Lobby war hübsch, aber sobald Sie hoch in Ihr Zimmer kommen, ist alles anders, Sie kommen vom Luxus der Lobby zu den Slums von New York in ca. 30 Sekunden. Das Zimmer war überall an den Wänden bekritzelt mit Telefonnummern, Namen, etc. Die Spiegel im Bad waren gesprungen und die Badewanne […] war gesprungen und die Wandfarbe bröckelte ins Badewasser, es war absolut abscheulich. Sehr altes Gebäude und war damals zu seiner Zeit vermutlich sehr schön. Das Einchecken dauerte 1/2 Stunde wegen Personalmangels. Jedes Mal, wenn ich in die Lobby kam oder sie verließ, fielen die lange Schlange und die vielen Leute, die auf ihre Zimmer warteten, auf. Personal war freundlich, aber die Zimmer alt, benötigt Überholung, und würde dort nicht […] noch einmal übernachten oder Empfehlung aussprechen. Einige andere Hotels in der Gegend für ein paar mehr Dollar, tun Sie sich einen Gefallen und geben Sie die Extra-Dollar aus. Mehr
"Dreckig, veraltet, desinteressiert & teuer"
Sehr enttäuscht. Kann mir nur vorstellen, wie desillusioniert ein Besucher, der das erste Mal nach New York City kommt, sein würde über die Erfahrung zu dem Preis. Check-in war miserabel. Die Schlange war 30 Leute lang. Zwei Empfangsmitarbeiter. Eine Stunde Warten. Schlimmste Hotelerfahrung in New York City seit 1988. The hotel was right in the prime location to get to everything in Mid-town Manhattan. It is an older building and you there are some parts of it that are in a bit of disrepair. The hallways smelled like urine and cigarette smoke, but the room itself was fine. The internet didn't work which was a bit of a pain, but the room itself was in fine condition. The lobby is beautiful. The location is awesome. The rest of the hotel is no good and the service is miserable. You get what you pay for. Dirty rooms and pretty much everything there is broken.

"Nightmare"
By Far this was the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms were disgusting. Make sure you take a shower late at night. No Hot water in the morning. The front desk staff (that is the only staff I saw at this hotel) was very rude. 1 hr to check in. 30 - 40 people in line & only 2 checking in. the others just stood and watched.
"A Bit of a Rip Off"
We booked a night at the hotel almost totally due to its location opposite Penn Station, arriving after 7pm in the evening and departing before 8am the next day. The only positive statement we can make about the room is that the bed was comfortable. Apart from that it was delapidated: flaky paintwork, dodgy electrical fittings, leaky plumbing, threadbare […] carpet and curtains that had to be held closed with a hair clip. It was not cheap either. We accept that the location will command premium prices but believe that, if you charge them, suitable emphasis needs to be placed on the quality of the service offered. Mehr

"Great Location"
This hotel is in a great location and is value for money. The service is probably average at best with long delays in checking in and checking out. Access to wifi was not good, after purchasing 24 hours was not able to reconnect after the first initial use.The location and convenience of the hotel out weighs some of the negatives.

I was not satisfied at all with Hotel Pennslyvania. I had heard so much about it and when I arrived I was preety impressed with the lobby it was very modern. But when you take the elevator its like taking a time machine and going back to the 1920's or 30's. The old classic look is not impressive at all. The paint was chipping from the walls, the bathroom […] were old and dingy and not clean and to make matters worse when my wife and I arrived we got there on Saturday mornig around 9:00am and there was a gentleman there at the front desk who when I asked if there were any rooms available he told me rather rudely that check in was at 3:00pm and pointed to a sign on the wall. Then I asked if there was a place where I could leave my luggage and he said "$4.00" we gave him $4.00 and I was going to give him the luggage when he pointed to the elevator and said over there go over there. Before I coould give him a piece of my mind my wife took me by one arm and we went to the elevators where a young man who was standing there by the hotel told us to take the elevator downstairs and follow the sign to the luggage room. Last but not least toast and bagels is not a continental breakfast. I stayed in smaller hotels in Florida where I get scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal, etc for acontinental breakfast. What a gyp!!! I ended up not staying when I waited in line for 40 minutes and went to my room which was not made up. I went back to the front desk and the line was even longer. I called American express and went to another hotel. I would never recommend this hotel.
"Great location and price"
Hotel is old and it shows, but my room was very clean, comfortable, and everything worked. Can't beat the location if you are traveling in/out of NYC by train. Had a bit of wait at check-in and to speak to someone about a problem with the wi-fi in my room, but staff were efficient and professional and resolved the problem immediately.

OMG. If you are attracted by the price... Do not go. To resume: dirty towels, moldy floors, shower curtains and walls, dead bugs hanging freely for the vanity fixture..... gluey phone with brown stains... old cups from previous guests.... you are so worried that you don't want to walk on the carpet. This had to have been the worst hotel I ever stayed. The rooms were small and you going even more around it in. My first room was the dirtiest room ever. The toilet had a black ring around the inside of the toilet bowl and the toilet seats looked like it hadn't been replaced since the hotel was built. I've stayed at this hotel before, years ago, right after a renovation and it was great. Unfortunately the Owners are not updating anything at this time. I hear it could be demolished, please support historic preservation! Do not let this historic site go by the wayside. This is an awesome building and deserves to live! "Most Convenient"
The hotel is very nice and the location could not be better. The room is in need of an upgrade. The bathroom had lots of mold and mildew because there is no fan or ventilation in the room. The temperature control is only for heat and even though its not even summer yet, the room was really hot and humid. "Worst hotel ever"
The room we got was a smoking room when we specified non. We couldn't even breathe properly. The front desk have us another non smoking room which was better with air quality but the room was like a hostel. Location was very good but again you could probably find better hotels along time square

"Location is not everything"
The only plus this hotel has is location. Across the street from Penn Station. I have a non-smoking room with cigaret burn on the carpet. The bed is rock hard. Climate control does not work and window does not open. Do not pay for a room with Breakfast. For your money you are money ahead going somewhere else. This morning breakfast consisted of Bagel, […] choice of two small muffins, Apple and coffee. All this being severed out a room no bigger that 12x12. Also, once they run out it seems it is gone, so go early if you pay for this in the room rate. I was warned before booking, but chose to book anyways... Next time, location is not everything. Mehr

I was generally pleased. the hotel is old and needs work, but the room was fine and kept clean. The staff was also very helpful. Lack of convenient internet asset was a bit of a problem but that was less important on this occasion than it might be on others.
The lobby and halllways are well done. But the room had large sections of plaster missing on the walls, every wall in the room looked unclean . No wi-fi option in the rooms either. Cannot recommend this hotel.

Stayed in room 882. Room was infested with Bed bugs! Was later moved to another room for the duration where there more bed bugs but smaller. I cannot recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Manager was nice enough to refund me my money once I lifted the box spring to show them that there was a small family of bugs living underneath of it. Left with […] 6 bites across my body. AVOID!! Yes, the hotel is a bit old, and the rooms are a bit battered (stains at walls, dripping water-tap, etc), but -come on- it's not that expensive either. Our room was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. And the location is GREAT! I definitely recommend this hotel if you're going to NYC and don't feel like spending a fortune on super-expensive […] living. Honestly, NYC isn't about a fancy hotel room.
