This hotel was quiet in spite of being near a busy interstate; however, it is in a poor location. The only driving entrance to the hotel is easily missed in spite of a small sign near the driveway, and one has to drive through an industrial area and parking lots to get to the motel. We had requested a suite when the room was booked, but we just had […] a regular 2 queen bed room. I didn't want to complain about this so just let it go. Our TV didn't work properly so we were moved to another 2 queen bed room. No suite again. Overall, the motel was clean, the room clean and quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. There were not many guests staying at this motel--I counted only six vehicles parked there including ours. I would have to say that the biggest deterrent to this motel is its poor location and accessibility. Mehr

we paid for a room with a hot tub in it and when we checked in we ended up with just a standard king room that was dirty and had someone elses clothes in it as well as blood on the bathroom door. we ended up having to pay more money to get what we had originally paid for when we booked the room. For all the confusion and after being put into 2 rooms […] prior to paying more for what we had origanally paid for I can say I wont think about staying here anytime soon. I believe if they had accomodated us with out us having to pay more after the experience with the mix up and the 2 dirty rooms my opinion would be a bit different. It just seems as though they didnt have belief in customer satisfaction. I am just sad. Mehr

I was disturbed by the uncleanliness of the room. There were sticky glass rings on the bedside table and the sheets were musty. The halls had a very unpleasant odor which reminded us of human sweat. The breakfast buffet was limited as there was only one staff member to replenish food items and this was done slowly as the staff was frustrated with the […] responsibilities placed on one person. The staff at Collins Inn and Suites were very friendly and courteous! Room was clean and comfortable. The pool was warm and fun!

We booked a 2 queen bed suite because I was traveling with my mother and my aunt and both tend to have sleep issues and felt a suite would better suit their needs if they had trouble sleeping. I called to notify the front desk I would be checking in late and they informed me that would be no problem since my room was guaranteed with a credit card I […] would not have to worry about my room being "given away". However, when checking in about 8 pm I found out they had no 2 queen bed suites available even though I had reserved one. So, not sure how/why that happens. I see my hotels.com reservation mentions "*Please note: Room preferences and Special requests cannot be guaranteed. Special requests are subject to availability upon check-in and may incur additional charges.", so kind of defeats the purpose of reserving a certain room type, don't you think?? I have never used hotels.com before. The hotel offered us a complimentary room and we ended up with adjoining rooms, so overall our experience was good. Mehr

Our stay at the Collins Inn and Suites in Cedar Rapids was a pleasant surprise. The 2 Queen Bed Suite was spacious and comfortable. The Pool and Hot Tub area was very nice. The FREE breakfast was also good.

The hotel is in need of basic repair to elevator, wallpaper, trim, and carpets

Bed Good Room Noisy AC Unit and Old Slow Internet Conectivity Reasonably clean

We had a great stay. The room was clean and the couch worked out just as well as a recliner that my mom has to sleep in when at home. The breakfast was plentiful and good. Thank you.

Bathroom very small and do not like vanity outside the bathroom and by the entrance door. Chemical smell in the room. Room very small. Carpets and floor felt dirty and overall feeling of room not clean. Overpriced for the room and quality. The bed was comfortable and sheets and towels clean so made it acceptable for a one night stay. Would not stay […] again. Mehr

We recently stayed at the Collins Inn and everywhere we looked when we arrived in our room, we saw dirtiness. First was the pillow cases...they had not been cleaned for awhile. They looked like they had throw up on them. Next we went to get some ice and our ice bucket had not been changed and had water and dead bugs in it. Towels were very stained and […] worn. The hallways stunk, and the floors were very dirty. The pool and hot tub were ok, except for the little kids constantly going in and out. The continental breakfast was average at best. I would not recommend this place, and hope everyone pays a little extra to find a better hotel than this! Mehr

It was very obvious our room had not been cleaned. There was stuff on the carpets that showed it had not been vacuumed. There were stains on our sheets and the extra blanket for the sleeper sofa was just shoved in the drawer and not folded which makes me think it had not been cleaned. When we talked to the front desk about this issue they rudely stated […] that all rooms were always clean. I beg to differ.... Mehr

Nice hotel for a night stay. Hair Dryer and Iron box stand broken, but mostly no one use. Other than two issues it was a lovely hotel, reasonable breakfast.

Hotel was very nice and clean. Desk clerk had special needs and was somewhat hard to understand, but we made it through it. Didn't eat continental breakfast because left too early in the a.m. so can't rate that. That is always a plus for me, though.

The bed was a little to firm and it hurt my back.

this hotel was ok for the price, and I needed a place that accepted pets. the a/c in our room didnt put out a lot of air and made a noise everytime it cycled off and on...it was clean enough and the kids enjoyed the pool, even though it felt like a sauna. the cont. breakfast was minimal, but was ok. as a stop over for a road trip it was fine...wouldnt […] recommend for anything more than one night. Very bad smell in hallways.

We arrived quite late from the road, tired and wanting to relax. Hotel was convenienly located, rooms were fine, not too loud, comfortable enough. Good value for the price we received on Hotels.com. When we first arrived it seemed AC was not working, the day was 95 degrees outside and not much better in the room. I called the front desk and receptionist […] came up immediately and gave us the vacant room next Dior where the AC had been running much longer according to the young woman. We appreciated the quick resolution. Hallways were not air conditioned, we slept in pass breakfast however it looked more involved as a set up than most places we have been on our trip so far. Mehr

Ok so its not really nasty but 4 the price its a dump. I guess their idea of a suite is 2 change the desk chair in the room 2 a swivel chair. Seriously if I stay in a suite can I @ least get a flat screen TV??? Not 2 mention the dresser looked like some1 had an accident on themselves on top of it. Lastly it looked like a remodeled super 8 only they […] 4got 2 remodel yet still thought it was ok 2 raise prices 30% traveler beware stay away!!! Mehr

A very nice comfortable room; wireless internet service was great. The only negative comment was that they have shut off the hallway A/C units which made it rather warm and muggy getting from the elevator to the room.

Not at all a good experience. From Peeling wall paper to dirt in the corners of the room to 1/2 inch bug in the bathroom. The bright side was a quaint but nice pool and hot tub area with a basic complimentary breakfast. We definitely scratched this hotel off of our travel list.

The motel was in good shape. The room was not ready yet in late afternoon. The scary thing was that in a large place there were only about five rooms rented out. Breakfast was good, but Spartan.

I will never go back to this hotel although the beds were comfortable. Walked into a room that had no air conditioning running and was hot. Forgot a telephone charger in room and called to see if I could get them to return it by mail and the person who answered the phone was lazy and refused to help. Told me to call back the next day for house keeping. […] This place was a total joke. can't believe I got suckered into staying there. Mehr

A small group of us on motorcycles stayed here. We were greeted by very friendly staff and check-in was fast. Unfortunately there was a large wedding party also staying the weekend and minor league ball tournaments in the area. The small pool quickly turned into an out-of-control chaotic daycare with no parents in sight. We spoke with the front desk […] regarding this. Soon one parent appeared and there were about 50 screaming kids back in the pool. The kids were even louder now after knowing we spoke with the front desk about their behavior. The stares and whispering soon go old. They would not listen to hotel staff or the one parent so both nights we ended up returning to our room very early. We were there to relax and it just wasn't going to happen at the pool. There were no pool rules regarding noise.... but there should be! It was insane. There was not a dry towel to be found anywhere near the pool because every time the kids got out they had to get a clean dry towel. It was easy to find the pool...just follow the wet floors to the pool. In my opinion the staff should have sternly warned the kids, then banned them from the pool. Kids will be kids...but these kids were retaliating, and won. Well, they didn't pay for my 2 nights stay here, i did. Hotels are not daycares but it's obvious that several parents feel that they are...and they got by with it. Fortunately we were put on the second floor, but 2 of my friends weren't so lucky. The wedding party and the people there for the ball tourney were on the third floor with my friends. They said the noise there was overwhelming all night long with kids running down the halls screaming and having ice fights from the ice machines at 4 in the morning. Again, where are the parents? The hotel itself is very nice for what we paid, breakfast was good, staff was friendly, but i'll leave the rating up to everyone else. Maybe staff could have been more strict to these parents think hotels also serve as daycares. I don't know...bu Mehr

The hotel was quite. The pool area was well kept. Only down fall was that the sauna was locked but we never asked for help we just left it alone. There were lots of pillow and the beds were comfortable.

Had a little trouble finding it. Its not in a bad spot, just kind of hidden around a corner. Hotel was clean and comfortable which is exactly what we wanted on a simple overnight stay. Nice swimming pool for the kids. For the price this is definitely worth a stay.

In the first room we were given, the Air conditioner did not work. The desk clerk had forgotten to turn it on. After it was on, it still did not function properly, so we moved to a second room. This room had a smell of past smoking, but it was tolerable, and we stayed there. The breakfast was minimal. There was no newspapers available. The hotel room was clean and very comfortable. The pool was very nice and pretty clean. But dont expect anything from the staff but a bad attitude. Had to ask 4 times to have drunk parting guest in pool and patio area to quite down (pool closed at 11pm and they weren't asked to leave till 3am). Tried to fit a queen sized sheet on a king bed and asked […] all three days of our stay to have them changed. One of the days the women at the front desk was very rude when we asked. Pool area was never stocked with towels and staff always rude when asking for them. Not worth the price because you could only use hotel for sleeping and even then you might get tangled in a fitted sheet that doesnt fit the bed. Mehr

Clean, well maintained, staff quick and good nature, and quiet. Hotel is right by interstate yet I never heard ANY traffic from room. Pool and hot tub were in good condition. I would definitely choose to stay here again for any future trips there.

A very comfortable bed and decent continental breakfast (including fresh waffles) made for a very pleasant one-night stay. The manager was also extremely helpful in the morning when I called looking to see if they had a wire hanger that I could have. He brought an entire selection of hangers. Very thoughtful.

This hotel has the most comfortable beds, pillows, shower pressure, cleanliness, etc. However, I stayed for the weekend and stopped at the front desk to ask for housekeeping to tidy up the room while I was away for a couple hours. There was a sign in the room stating this was an option or I wouldn't have even asked. She said they were still on my floor […] and it wouldn't be a problem. Um, never happened even after a polite call was made to the front desk again. Mehr

This is a very clean hotel. Our room looked recently updated. We have stayed in several hotels in the area and this was the best value by far.

Two night stay and encountered very clean hotel and lobby, decent breakfast, friendly staff and convenient location.

A much bigger room than we expected was a good room for the money and the pool and hot tub was a nice addition to the weekend.
