Ramada Limited Sea World - San Diego

This motel is quite a dump and we were definitely disappointed.

Our room (non-smoking) had the foulest odour. Lucky I carry a bottle of room freshner, it helped. Also the air conditioner was missing from our wall and no attempt had been made to seal up the area. With only the slatted vent seperating us from the carpark it was like having an open window all night and the hotel was full which mean it was quite busy. […] Wouldnt stay there again. Mehr

The hotel is located conveniently by the freeways and close to get to downtown and the beaches. The tenperature of the room was either too cold or too hot. We were not able to get the room a good temperature and smelled like an old stale smell of smoke even though the room was "non-smoking". The walls are super thin and you can hear the neighbors in […] the room next to you talk softly. The bathroom might have just been this particular room but the handle to the bathtub/shower almost came off as we attempted to turn it on. The bed was too firm that it can cause you back pain. You don't get quite the comfort for what you pay. If you are looking for the convenience aspect this is it. Mehr

comfortable & close to beach.

The pictures are very deceiving of this hotel. The rooms are very small and very dated, Felt like I was back in the 50's. Rugs were very dirty and the air wall unit was very loud. Thankfully we only booked it for 1 night and got in the room late at night and out early the next morning. The price wasn't even good, we paid enough that for about 10 dollars […] more could have stayed at a much nicer place. I thought the Ramada had a good reputation, not any more. don't waste your time. My stay was pleasant given the modest price relative to other hotels in the area. The accommodations were pretty modest but so was the price.

We were a bit worried given the good price and nearby establishments, but we were very pleased overall. Staff was great, breakfast was good and location was excellent for beach access and access to seaworld. would reccomend.

The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the location is convenient. There is a direct bus to Sea World and the bus stop is less than 200 meters away. The bus stop also have services to the old town and the bay area. Although we drove but the bus services allows us to stop and see more things. The only thing is that the room has a woody smell probably […] because the hotel is quite old. Mehr

The only negative thing I have to say about this hotel is the construction going on in the parking lot during our stay. The parking lot is a very small, horseshoe style (one way in, one way out) kind of area and we were woken by jackhammers at 8am. We were not given any warning that they would be performing the work. The continental breakfast was VERY […] fresh, all bagels, muffins, and bread were soft. Even the milk for the cereal was cold. That impressed me considering we ate late that morning and I thought it would be warm sitting out all morning, but it was nice. The staff was VERY friendly. Bed wasn't comfortable and the room had a musky smell to it, even after I sprayed lysol the smell would come back. Charged $5 a night for parking plus a deposit that they told me about @ check in and breakfast was not good. Good prices, great location but I probly won't stay there again.

Overall this motel was adequate. No frills, clean but a bit worn. What you would expect for an economy type room. I would stay again.

I would never stay there again nor would I recommend it to anyone! From the minute we arrived there was a lady walking around the grounds who looked intoxicated. The 2 days we stayed saw lots of homeless people walking around, people hollaring, neighborhood in the Ghetto! After check in went to the room and smelled musty and just didnt feel like it […] was clean (wouldnt walk barefoot). when it came time to take a shower no hot water from the bath. Called office they sent someone to check it they could not get it to work so they gave us the room next door to use as needed. That was ok if thats what needed to be until they fixed our shower. Day 2- time to take a shower still no hot water! went to use the room the manager promised us and they rented it to someone with all my shampoos along with it. So the manager wanted to give me another room down the hall. I was frustrated and tired not to mention we had to wake up to a bunch of drilling in the concrete, I was done with all the nastiness! The front office was not friendly. There was hair all over the pillows and sheets. Banging occurred in the early morning. Airport was too close.

Near Sea World, yes. Pleaseant stay, no. Hotel in need of renovation and clean up. Towels and bed wear feels like they been uesd for a long time.

This hotel is very close to a alot of the want to see pllaces in San Diego and the rooms were decent. I would stay there again.

The location was ok and the price was right but the room was musty, smelt like mold and mildew.

The beds were too firm. Didn't sleep well at all. Other than that, it was very clean and conveniently located to the areas we visited. Wish there was a microwave.

Typical motel. Very noisy, not just the cop cars sirens but the tv's from the other rooms, and the opening and closing of other rooms doors. Great location for Sea World. Good selection of nice places to eat nearby. Good breakfast for a motel like this. Good value overall in my opinion. If I can't afford a hotel, this will probably be the motel […] I say at next time I take my kid to Sea World. Oh yah, and we extended the stay another night. Almost booked it through hotels.com again, but the price at the front desk was definitely cheaper! Mehr

The hotel service was great. But the hotel structure was very bad. As soon as you walk in to the rooms, you can tell that it is a very old building. The doors were bad; you had to pull and push the door handle everytime to close or open the door. The knob in the toilet flush was broken. The hotel was very nice and adequate. It was a little noisy being near a main road but otherwise was perfectly suitable, clean, and accessible for sightseeing in San DIego.

We weren't expecting very much out of the Ramada Limited, after reading all the crumby reviews. Aside from a lot of homeless people walking around the area (which is near almost all hotel areas down in San Diego) our room was clean. The front desk staff was very friendly, helpful and even offered great places to eat! We only went down there to watch […] my brother graduate from MCRD. So it is unlikely I will have the need to go down there again. Mehr

My husband and I were very pleased with this hotel. It was very clean and quiet and the service was great. It is also very convienently located. We will defintely stay there again.

Bed smelled like pee. Strange smell permeated whole room. Did have fridge, which was nice.

This hotel is good for a good night stay.

I spent 6 sleepless nights at your hotel. Sleepless? You better believe it. This hotel is located along the flight path for San Diego International Airport - it is as if the planes are landing on the roof. The location is also on a main road with tons of traffic, sirens, etc. As a woman traveling alone I felt unsafe returning in the evenings as the […] location was a bit rough. The breakfast left something to be desired...there was nothing healthy to eat...just danish, white bread, frozen waffles - not a piece of fruit or egg in sight. I bought my own food and ate in my room after the first day. Sometimes I had a wash rag, sometimes not. Sometimes I had a pack of coffee in my room and sometimes I didn't. It was most inconsistent. Difficult to keep attention of desk personnel.

Great deal if you just need a place to sleep!

Older rooms in a less than desireable part of town. Desk service was not too great, though the room was more comfortable than expected. Decent room for the price, but I would not likely go back.

We stayed here on a trip to Sea World and were very happy with it. It is less than a mile from Sea World and very affordable. The rooms were clean and everything worked well. If you're thinking about staying here, read the reviews and know what you're getting. It's certainly no 5-star hotel, there's no pool and the neighborhood isn't the greatest. After reading some of the other reviews, it was much better than what I expected. Hotel was in a decent area, convenient to other places by car. Decent value for the money. Even though I had an end room right on the street, the noise was not excessive. Only problem I had, which was same as some others, the key card stopped working. I had to go to desk […] twice to have it reset with no success. Clerk had to come to room to open door. I was here for 2 nights and I'd stay here again next time I'm in town. Mehr

My stay at Ramada went very well, as expected. For this price, I got a nice and clean room, breakfasts, and important - free wi-fi internet connection. One more advantage is hotel's location. I decided to do a walk from the hotel to Sea World, and it took me not more than 30 minutes. I really enjoyed my stay at Ramada and would definately choose this […] hotel again and again. Mehr

I will be staying here again.

This was a nice hotel and was close to everything. Great value. Neighborhood seemed a little shakey. Needed better lighting or security. No pool.

The location is wonderful, but there have plently of choise near by. The quality of hotel just okay....not as good as pictures shown in webside! I think there are better choises.

Needed a place to stay the night nearby and for cheap...the hotel worked for exactley that and was a little cleaner than expected. Overall a good value.
