Sauber und ordentlich.Sehr gut ausgestattete Zimmer.

Privat habe ich zwei Wochen in diesem Hotel verbracht. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut. Überall auch sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Die Zimmer wurden täglich sehr gut gereinigt. Das Hotel war auch ansonsten sehr sauber. Supermarkt und Ladengeschäfte in unmittelbarer Nähe. Auch befinden sich einige Lokale in der näheren Umgebung, so daß […] man nicht mit dem Auto fahren muss. Mein Zimmer war nach hinten ausgerichtet (nicht an der Straße), wodurch es natürlich dementsprechend ruhig war. Die Straße ist aber abends auch nicht sonderlich stark befahren gewesen. Parkplätze sind in der Regel ausreichend vorhanden, Internetzugang kostenlos. Frühstück ist in Ordnung, nur wird es in dem Frühstücksraum (an der Rezeption) morgens teilweise etwas "eng", wenn gleichzeitig sehr viele Personen frühstücken gehen. Es stehen nur wenige Tische/Stühle zur Verfügung. Man kann sich aber auch etwas mit auf sein Zimmer nehmen. Waschmaschinen und Trockner stehen für je 1,50 Dollar den Gästen zur Verfügung. Waschmittel kann man ebenfalls für 1,00 Dollar im Hotel erwerben. Das fand ich bei zwei Wochen Aufenthalt sehr praktisch... Wenn man nicht gerade im Berufsverkehr nach San Diego möchte, ist man in ca. 25-30 Minuten in San Diego (Downtown). Alles in allem war ich während meines Aufenthaltes sehr zufrieden und kann das Hotel ohne Einschränkung empfehlen. Mehr

was very impressed with quality of hotel given its affordability. only downside was fluctuating temperature in the shower. otherwise it was perfect.

I was pleasantly surprised at the clean spacious room. Loved the fridge and microwave in the room. The breakfast was just average. Skip the coffee and go to Starbucks. Great Thai food restaurant next door.

The condition and comfort of the room were just great; very spacious and thoughtfully equipped, a very nice mattress and very clean. There is a fabulous Thai restaurant next door. The hotel staff counts people walking in the door, noticed that we had an extra child we had not reserved for, and called us on it later that evening. WARNING: The coffee […] is deplorable. When we asked if they could make it "just a little stronger" (as the woman was carrying the brewer basket away) the clerk said that the attendant has a routine she cannot deviate from. We are talking MUCH, MUCH lighter in color than a 5 second teabag in hot water. There was no coffee flavor AT ALL. I believe they are trying to compensate for the great deal on the room by reusing coffee grounds for a whole year. Mehr

Very nice hotel...only if receptionist had the common sense that 1 room with king size bed doesnt have to say that 2 people will be staying. She had to charge me $10 because my booking had only 1 person on it. Other than that, very nice hotel with cringy parking space.

If you don't expect fancy you'll be pleasantly surprised with what you get for the money with this place. It's conveniently located, the building is a little dated and no view - but the rooms are great and the area is surprisingly quiet for being on such a busy street. The best part is the value - I've always been able to get a great rate at this room […] in such a fantastic city. The free breakfast is a bonus. This is my go to when I'm in San Diego on my dime. So this hotel was ok the room was actually big was nice and clean the beds are great. I didn't like the old elevator so we took the stairs the three days we were there good work out.. Breakfast was good waffles bagels toast and juice there's a little bit more stuff but that's what we ate.. Great area there's food and a vons all in walking distance.. […] The hotel also sales a few things that are priced right.. I would definitely stay again!! <3 SD!!! Mehr

Not new, not old. Not necessarily uncomfy, but not luxury. I mean, it IS a Travelodge. It was a good stay for the price. The desk clerk was awesome at 10:30pm when the kids next door were screaming and jumping on the beds, thudding into the walls, threatening to wake my sleeping baby! She took care of it and we never heard a peep after that. Nice toiletries. Quiet […] area. Mehr

Great hotel. Great price. Big room. Very clean. Small cold pool. No hot tub. Good breakfast.

The only problem that I have is that there is never enough parking. The front desk guy didnt really care and told me to park on the busy street where my car wasnt visible.

Nicely decorated, clean, and a great rate. We were there on a Friday night and each Friday night next door between 5-8 were about 5 catering trucks with a variety of food choices that all looked tempting. We chose BBQ and were not disappointed. I would definitely stay there again if in the San Diego area.

I have stayed in the hotel several times for the money , breakfast and room it cant be beat.

This hotel is definitely very good value and everything is fine, except check in time 4pm....really?!!! I've never seen that! Not even in Times Square hotels in New York, where they're usualy madly BUSY and they could probably use the extra time to get ready. This was during the week, the hotel seemed pretty slow. In fact as I'm leaving the next day, […] I'm noticing they have rooms with the door open that they already cleaned and I guess they're "airing" them out, but esentially all those rooms were ready and it wasnt 11am yet. So why they dont want you to check in till 4pm? But of course, check out is not Noon either...they want your butt out of there by 11am! One more thing...the clerk possible Manager (or even owner) with gray hair and glasses, was polite but very cut and dry, I dont think he smiled at all, but maybe he was just busy. Again, I do still reccomend the place and after all he did allow me to check in by close to 3pm but I did have to go away and come back. Mehr

I love the location of this hotel. It was a little tricky to find (this is partly due to google maps). The neighborhood is convenient to the freeway, but set away from it in a residential type area, so it was really quiet. There was no street noise and we really didn't even hear other guests. I felt safe being outside at night, and loved that there […] were several places to eat within walking distance. It's a little dated, but we weren't there to lounge at the hotel, so it was great for our needs. I would absolutely stay here again. Mehr

The water temperature in the shower kept fluctuating between hot and cold no matter how I adjusted. This is very annoying.

Far better than expected; in fact I was hesitating to get this as the price was too cheap and it just didn't feel right, the price vs. costumer ratings, but now I strongly recommend it to everyone

First of all, I must thank this website and those who left reviews. I chose this hotel because of the cost first, then I read the reviews. The ratings were better than other 3 and 4-star hotels. No thrills, good place to lay your head and travel in and out of San Diego. Reasonably priced. Had to have someone fix the dead bolt first night, but very responsive.

We have family that live in La Mesa and this hotel works out perfectly for us each time. The rooms are good size, especially if you get one of the top floor corner rooms, its like having a suite as far as size goes. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was very clean. During my recent stay here, I had a very comfortable stay. The rooms were very spacious with modern styling. The only issue and I hope it was just my room was the water temperature control. The water would be warm then after about 5 minutes randomly changed from cold to warm to hot then repeat. But overall, it was a very nice hotel and very comfo […] rtable! Mehr

Rooms were clean, and large with 2 queen beds, microwave, fridge, bar with sink. The hotel has a small lobby which they use in the morning to serve a light breakfast. Wafflels,cereal, fruit, etc. The hotel is located in La Mesa, a small city about 15 minutes from downtown San Diego.

we were surprise with the price we paid we get free breakfast , internet wifi , free parking , very good comfort.

This hotel is a bit off the tourist path but for the money worth a few miles travel and especially great if you are doing something locally (our daughter is at the nearby university). It is clean, well appointed, and staff are very friendly! It lived up to all reviews I'd read, and I have paid double for hotels I liked much less. Will definitely stay […] again! Mehr

Excellent value for the money, if you're willing to drive to it. "La Mesa" means "the high plain" and that's what it is, a plain located east (and somewhat higher than) San Diego. The drive to San Diego's attractions such as Seaworld and the San Diego Zoo is only about 15 to 20 minutes, but for some people that may be already inconvenient. However, […] the large rooms (I joked with the kids that we should put a ping-pong table into the room) and the cleanliness and level of service make up for the out-of-the-way location and are more befitting a 3 or 4-star hotel than this inexpensive 2 star hotel. Complimentary WiFi is available. The breakfast buffet was better than expected for this price - waffle maker, toaster, corn flakes, several different kinds of muffins, fruits, fruit juices. Within walking distance to the hotel there is a Chinese buffet place, two Thai restaurants, an eat-in pizza joint, a take-out-only pizza joint and a Mexican restaurant. Overall: Recommended. Mehr

This is the nicest Travelodge I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. Is it fancy? No. Is it comfortable, with large rooms, free wi-fi, free breakfast, with interior corridors and lots of nearby conveniences? Yes. If you are looking for five star frills, go elsewhere. For what I paid, I was astonished at the hotel I got. Enjoy!

For an economy hotel we were very impressed with the hotel. I have been dissapointed before by hotels in this price range. But the TravelLodge in LaMesa was very nice. The concierge was professional and the rooms were very clean and comfortable.

The hot water was not reliable, it kept getting freezing cold and scolding hot. The air conditioner did not work. There were 3 very small pillows on the bed, very hard to keep your head on when sleeping. The staff sat and watched you while you ate your breakfast. This was not a good experience...........

I do not expect 4 star hotels for this price, just a good, clean, and comfortable stay. This Hotel fits the bill. There has been some remodeling since my last stay, brighter colors - updates to front desk services. Lots of places within walking distance for food. I will check here first for my next stay in San Diego.

I work in San Diego often and it can be diffiucult to find a hotel with a decent location for a decent price. This hotel was clean, the staff was helpful and courteous and the room was very comfortable. I travel quite a bit and find the quality of this hotel to be well above what you would expect to get for the price. The good: The hotel itself and […] the rooms are very well maintained and clean and the front counter staff were very helpful (provided directions and traffic information and gave me information about restaurants and entertainment in the local area). There is a decent selcection of restaurants in the area and other services right near the hotel. Free WiFi is a big plus for business travelers or people vacationing as many hotels charge upwards of $10 for 24 hours of internet access. Free breakfast is included with the room, the food looked fresh and many people seemed to be enjoying it, however I just had coffee. The bad: There is insufficient parking and the stalls are very small. Even a midsize rental car is generally too big for the parking spaces and this means that you have to park on the street. Also, if you stay in a room on the front side of the hotel the traffic on University Ave. can be a bit loud. All in all I can say that I was very pleased with my stay and the value. Mehr

I read all the nice reviews before booking and I was not disappointed when I arrived. This is definitely far exceeded all the other Travelodges I had stayed before. Hotel is very clean, very large room, reception lobby is quite small but has a nice feel and there was a nice music playing. Be aware the check in time is at 4pm, not 3. It is not a 4, 5 […] star hotel certainly, but for the price, it is well worth the money and I will definitely recommend to others. Mehr

yes, it is cleanly.. and the service is fair.. people at front desk very helpful but not that nice or friendly.. Breakfast room SOOOOO SMALLLL!!!!! Hotel location is not all convenient if you want to be close to san diego's attractions. Next time I'd like to try one of the hotel at circle hotel... is kinda of the same price.. Is not that I'd not […] recommend this place but I'd rather say look for better options.. At least a little more happily decorated it.. Mehr
