Close to downtown attractions and close proximity to UNMH which is why I chose it. However, although the area is visually appealing, it seems to attract a scary crowd. The hotel is unpleasant from the outside, but the interior is maintained beautifully! The room was comfortable, modern and clean! On a sunday night there was loud traffic until after […] midnight. Overall, location ruins it. But I slept well and thats what I needed. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was great. Parking is very limited. Mehr

Suite was nice and big. Breakfast better than it could have been (yea, waffles!). Neighborhood was sketchy, but hotel is close to good stuff. Staff was friendly and helpful. Price was right!

While the outside looked a bit run down, the room was very nice with a big flat screen TV and a very big, comfortable bed. Location was perfectly on the edge of downtown and conveniently located near Old Town. I was very impressed with this place.

Rooms were newly remodeled and very nice. Outside of hotel and surrounding area very uncomfortable. Hotel did not have sufficient parking inside of it's fenced, locked parking lot so guests were forced to park on the street and in our case walk blocks to the hotel. Most outside gates did not work with the key card. Doors locked early, second night no […] one at front desk to let us in. We would never stay here again nor could we recommend it to anyone. It seemed to be the hotel that the drunken college aged people prefered. Spend a few dollars more and stay somewhere else - which we would have had there be availability. Mehr

Good place to stay for convenience and cleanliness. The Italian restaurant across the street is very pleasant, parking is easy and secure, friendly staff.

You could tell that the rooms had been renovated from an old hotel only because how new the counter tops and appliances were verses the appearance of the old style externally, but it was very clean, great bed and a fake fireplace. When I go back TO ABQ, that is where I will be staying without question.

I was not overly impressed w/this hotel. While it is evident they are in the process of remodeling, and the rooms themselves were very nice and clean, the outside was definitely "seedy." Where were the cookies in the lobby everybody raved about? The "Deluxe" breakfast was nothing special; I have had much better at other motels/hotels. There was a lot […] of noise from some tenants directly above us. While they did quiet down after police/security arrived, it was still quite loud. The breakfast was delicious and it was so nice to have a shuttle available to get us to the convention center. The drinks - juice, hot chocolate, tea - available all day was also very nice. Comfortable Tempur-pedic beds. However, we had really loud neighbors, our door was knocked on several times (around 2am) and several other people complained about […] the noise. I used earplugs and didn't hear a thing - everyone else in our room couldn't sleep. (The noise could be due to the NCAA tournament and those who travelled to watch their team play that weekend). Overall, good food, decent room (fridge and microwave nice), good location and shuttle. Just bring earplugs :) Mehr

Found this hotel on Hotel's.com in Grant's NM, as we knew we would have to get a room for the night on the way to Colorado. A little off the freeway, but easy to find with GPS. Staff was VERY kind and helpful. The hotel is a little dated on the outside, but we liked the "retro" atmosphere. There were a few folks "enjoying" the complimentary breakfast […] that might not have been guests - maybe homeless, but they did not bother anyone, so maybe the hotel was extending a helping hand, which is nice. Nice for the price. I like the downtown location, but use caution walking at night. Room was small, but very comfy bed. Decent breakfast buffet and computer acces in lobby.

Close to everthing, secure, convenient, and well maitained. Best kept secret, a good value at twice the price

But still a great hotel. I was hoping for something a little more "fancy." The outside of the building could use a bit of a pick me up. And it is directly in the heart of downtown so you tend to see the local weirdos walking about but the parking lot is gated with room key entry only. Not a lot of parking space, if you get there too late you might have […] to park on the street! But it is downtown and right down the road is a lot of shops and restaurants and further down is the zoo which you should ABSOLUTELY vist! Inside the room is kind of plain and not exactly cozy. But the bed is a tempurpedic and was extremely comfortable. A faux fireplace was in the room, the only romantic element to this hotel, so if it is a romantic getaway you are looking for, look elsewhere. The bathroom is typical, although I was hoping for a more spacious tub or shower. Maintenance man is very nice, he helped me pull in to a tight parking spot (the last available for the night) Mehr

Great service. Hotel provides a shuttle to and from the airport and convention center. Close to restaurants and conveniently located to everything. Nice room, new renovations, great temper pedic bed and flat screen tv with direct tv.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel undergoing upgrades - appreciate the green efforts and the excellent mattresses. Do not get one of the rooms that views the wall.

Better places around

Waited a very long time for the shuttle to get us from the airport, but once we got to the motel (outside entrances), check in was quick. Free Wi-Fi in the room, which had a bit of a musty smell. Neighborhood surrounding the location is a little questionable, but there is a secure fence surrounding the property. Rooms were real clean. Location is very convenient, downtown, just a block away from restaurants, nightlife, cafes, shops. Morning breakfast is nice and saves time and money. A great location if you want to walk downtown and have a fun night. Located near Old Town as well and near the Zoo. I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. It is like an older hotel that has some great amenities.

Everything was satisfactory, overall a nice stay. The male front desk clerk was always too involved playing on his computer to notice people coming in the front door.

This hotel is great stay in downtown ABQ right down the block from just about anything you might want to do during the evening. We also had a pet with us, so the park right next door made the morning and evening walk very easy. Card accessed gates meant no worrying about the vehicle and the staff was very helpful and kind when we had a key issue. Would […] definitely repeat my stay. Mehr

I enjoyed my stay there, the staff is very attentive and friendly. They even offer me to drive me to Old town if I did want to walk ! I liked the fact you have access to a computer in the spacious lobby. The continental breakfast was very nice and the dining area was very quiet and pleasant . This hotel was exactly what we wanted for just one night. It was close to what we wanted to do that morning. Not over-priced.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Cookies when you check in. Free breakfast was a great benefit. There were no cooked eggs, only hard boiled, but there was cereal, bagels, orange juice, coffee, WAFFLES THAT YOU MAKE ON YOUR OWN (FUN)!!. Computers and internet service in reception area, free local calls and they offered free shuttle service to the convention […] center when I needed it !! Overall, a simple, not very fancy hotel but it does the basics VERY WELL!! Only 10-15 minutes from the airport. Mehr

hotel Blue is a wonderful older property, the rooms are a little small but well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the staff friendly, even at 2AM, when I checked in. The hotel has a secure parking lot, which is a bonus. There is a lovely park across the street with a Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings, which is fun. The one downside to this […] property is the weekend cruising on Central, which can be very loud and disruptive as cars cruise the downtown main drag. It lasts well into the night but there is a heavy police presence and they do keep it under control. I would stay in this hotel again and recommend it for someone who likes to be centrally located, in a nice property, with walking access to restaurants and entertainment venues. Mehr

Although my room was prepaid, the clerk required a 30 dollar damage deposit by credit card that still has not been reversed to my account. The TV did not work properly, the maintance man was very helpful and together we were able to turn on the TV, but later I was uable to turn it off. The comfort of our room was outstanding. We experienced the ease of walking to downtown for dining and to see a movie. We enjoyed the Tempur-Pedic Beds, and had the advantage of watching Direct TV on their new Samsung 40" flat screens. The customer service was appreciated, as they prepared the room with all the basic neccessities for an enjoyable stay. […] The rates were beyond reasonable for ALL that was offered. Thank you! Mehr

Don't be fooled by the pictures. This hotel is more like a motel. The lobby is semi-modern, there is a nice area for breakfast and the free hotel shuttle was great. The actual room was less appealing. The entrances to the rooms are all outside (hence motel feel). The bathroom sink seemed to be redone but the rest of the room was late 90s furniture with […] a large HD tv. The iron had "Ramada" handwritten on one side. Overall, I wish I spent more money to stay at a better hotel. The shuttle service and staff were the best part. If you need a cheap place, this will do. Mehr

The hotel is right off of a busy road that "youth" frequent every weekend night from 7:30 until midnight when it is broken up by the police. There are loud kids, cars, and sirens. We thought we could be shot if we had stayed on a lower floor. We bought dinner and took it back to the room and thank god because we did NOT want to be out and about after […] dark in this area. the staff at this hotel is terrible, they treat everyone as if they are a criminal at check in. and the night staff is even worse. AVOID IF POSSIBLE

Needs updating in a big way. The location was pretty good. The poeple were nice and the breakfast was nice. Thanks for the tv in the breakfast room.

The rooms at this joint were clean and comfortable. Located on central in downtown made for an easy walk to bars and clubs. Old town a short 5 min drive. The biggest drawback for the hotel was the exterior really needs to have some upkeep/update. Not very welcoming looking from the outside. Overall a decent place to stay downtown.

was a very positive experience after a family member warned us - more about the neighbourhood than the hotel. The personnel was very friendly - could have spoken a little bit more English though. The room was nicely done, very clean, the mattress "Tempura" is already badly missed. The complimentary breakfast left nothing to wish for considering the […] climate. Old property with a lackluster attempt to modernize. A fake fireplace the size of a carry-on bag - please. Carpets looked dirty and decor was mismatched and outdated looking. No TV guide and confusing Direct TV. Mattress was the only saving grace.

I will keep this short and sweet . . . I would only stay here if you have to. Oh yeah, do not go outside in the neighborhood after dark!
