Auch für amerikanische Verhältnisse ein sehr eingeschränktes Frühstücksangebot. Haben wir in NY anderst erlebt. Auch sind die Frühstückzeiten für einen Urlaub etwas stressig. Um 9.00 Uhr ist Schluss und das ist auch so. Punkt 9.00 wird abgeräumt. Die Zimmer sind groß und das Badezimmer ist ok. Das Fernseheprogramm falls es gebraucht wird, ist nicht […] vorhanden. Liegt außerhalb des Zentrums, dafür guter Preis. Sauber, freundlich. Hotel etwas versteckt, ohne Beschilderung!!! Mittelklasse, aber OK.

Vom Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut, aber rund 20 km außerhalb von Washington.

Besonders praktisch ist der ganztägige, halbstündige, kostenlose Shuttle-Service zur Metrostation New Carrollton und zurück

Vom Metro Center in der Innenstadt fährt man eine gute halbe Stunde bis nach New Carrington (orange line), wo jede halbe Stunde ein Hotelshuttle Gäste zur U-Bahn Station bringt und gleichzeitig auch abholt. Im Prinzip kann man vom Hotel aus auch zu Fuß laufen (etwa eine Meile), allerdings nicht bei über 90 Grad Fahrenheit und hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit […] oder mit Gepäck.Ich habe dieses Hotel gebucht, weil ich mit Amtrak vom Flughafen in Baltimore kam und New Carrington direkt an der Bahnstrecke lag, sodass ich mit meinem Gepäck nicht zur Union Station in die Innenstadt musste, und weil das Hotel preislich ausgesprochen günstig war, trotzdem einen guten Komfort bot. Das Frühstück war entgegen der Beschreibung im Preis inbegriffen (und gar nicht so schlecht!). Service habe ich nicht in Anspruch genommen (ausgenommen der Gratisshuttle), da kein Bedarf, ich kenne mich in Washington aus, und die jungen Leute am Empfang keinen hilfsbereiten Eindruck machten. Ich empfehle das Hotel jedem, der Ruhe und Anonymität schätzt, und außerhalb wohnen möchte. Mehr

Das Hotel Metro Points liegt ca. 20 Geh-Minuten von der Metro entfernt. So kann man Washington sehr bequem erreichen. Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind sauber. Die Frühstückszeiten werden allerdings sehr genau genommen und um Punkt halb 10 bekommt man nichts mehr. Ärgerlich war, dass bereits ab 9.15 Uhr kein Saft und auch die Speisen nicht mehr aufgefüllt […] wurden. Es kann also passieren, dass man um 9.15 Uhr kein Frühstück mehr bekommt. Mehr

Der erste Eindruck vom Hotel hatte uns zunächst ein wenig Angst gemacht. Das Zimmer hat uns dann jedoch sehr überzeugt, sehr groß und sauber. Sehr nettes Hotelpersonal. Hotel liegt zwar etwas entfernt von der nächsten Metrostation entfernt, aber man kann ruhig auch mit dem Auto in die Stadt fahren. Es gab viele und günstige Parkplätze.

In 2010 wurde alles frisch renoviert, die Zimmer sind sauber und modern eingerichtet. Zimmer haben zusätzlich Bügeleisen, Kaffeemaschine, Kühlschrank und Mikrowelle zu bieten. Das Personal war stets freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man hat alles was man benötigt direkt vor der Tür Supermärkte, Schnellrestaurants und Tankstellen. Die Umgebung hat Vorstadtcharakter […] und auch Abends fühlte man sich stets sicher. Das Hotel bietet einen Shuttle Service zur nächsten Metro Station die einen dann nach Downtown Washington DC bringt. Man kann bei Bedarf auch 10Min zu Fuß lauen. Ab der Station New Carrolton braucht man ca. 25 Min. zur Smithsonian Station und dort hat man schon fast alles was man als Tourist sehen sollte das Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, White House und die ganzen Museen sind in fußweiter Umgebung dieser Station. Wen es nicht abschreckt erst eine kleine Fahrt auf sich zu nehmen um ins Zentrum von Washington DC zu gelangen, dem kann man dieses Hotel nur empfehlen. Mehr

It wasn't good. Don't believe what they tell you about the shuttle service because they won't ever be on time, and half the time they don't even show up. All the employee's are disespectful and rude. I loved my time in D.C but I will never stay at this hotel again.

The complimentary breakfast was inconsistent with the quality and type of foods offered each day. My trip was business with a tight schedule, and I had no time to search for other hotels. The rooms were small, needed maintenance and the beds not comfortable to accomodate a 6'3'' man. A fire emergency and evacuation occurred in the middle of the night […] on one of the nights and it was cold as guests were left outside without blankets in nightclothes. I will not stay at this faciity again. I let my agent know and she was unable to get relief or changes. Mehr

Front desk personnel were very accommodating and friendly. There were maintenance issues that took two of my three day stay to resolve....running toilet very annoying. Carpeting in room and hallway was dirty and needed to be cleaned. Metro Shuttle Service was a huge plus and service was great.

We chose this hotel as it offered breakfast and shuttle svc to a metro station (only few miles away). We would’ve given a better rating had we not experienced an unusual incident. There was smoke coming from the basement!! When I usually commented a hotel per cleanliness, basic service, etc., this incident reminded me that, none of these seem to matter […] when compared to SAFETY. Around 12:30am, a hotel guest living across our room knocked our door couple times, making sure we were awake to get down to the lobby. When I opened the door, smoke came toward me. Many guests walked down the stairway, some complaining "why there's no alarm for such smoke?" We stayed at the 9th floor, and fortunately arrived at lobby safely with our 6-yr-old. People at the lobby looked tired, young and old. We were told to return to our rooms at 2am. In between, we got only 2 updates from hotel. I was worried about inhaling smoke or residue. The front desk said they could spray the room in the morning. When we finally got to the bed, and just when I almost fell asleep again, the front desk knocked the door to spray the room. The next morning, breakfast time wasn't extended for the incident last night. When we checked out the room, after 2-night stay, the front desk didn't mention any compensation about the incident. Another negative experience is that, the hotel room we stayed wasn't sound-proof well. We’d been hearing noise from traffic all the time. Mehr

GOOD PLACE TO STAY.NOISE WITH CHILDREN RUNNING HALLWAYS EACH NIGHT.

The service was great and the location with a shuttle to the metro was great. They don't do enough maintenance to the building, however. The rooms were clean and the neighborhood safe.

Not bad but could have been much better. Not the best customer service.

This hotels descripton is WAY off. It does have a shuttle to the metro, but it only runs once every 30 minutes some hours of the day, 1 time an hour other times, and not at all after 10pm. It is '10 minutes from dc' if you mean the very edge of dc. To get to the capital area takes 30 minutes. It takes amost an hour from the front door to downtown dc. […] It was a motel 6 type room. It was cleanish. The breakfast was watery powdered eggs, stemed sausage , and a toast bar. No other restaurant. The area around the hotel is rough and we would not have walked to the metro. Do yourself a favor annd pay a little more to stay closer and in a nicer place. Mehr

The shuttle service is very good, but the only problem is that you need to call in advance. When you arrive at the Metro station, there are a lot of phones but guess what... None of them actually work. So you have to pray that the shuttle arrives and if it doesn't, then you will have to pay for a $13 taxi cab that will only move you 5 blocks to the […] hotel. Very disappointing. The only positive during my stay was the staff - friendly and courteous.

For the biggest part the staff was great except for the people in the breakfast bar. The women that worked the weekend that we were there was very rude she had no personality at all. Your picture on your web site was very deceiving you could have been more honest with your location when called to the motel to ask about the neighbor around the motel […] . Mehr

Friendly desk personnel. Friendly staff. Free shuttle service from the hotel to the metro station. Breakfast arrangements were comfortable. My room had an excellent view. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is the second time I've stayed here, and I'll gladly return. It is a great alternative to the outrageously-priced hotels closer in. The Metro Points Hotel is but a mile from Amtrak's New Carrllton station, (also the end of the Orange line of Washington's Metro) and there is an on-demand shuttle bus to/from the hotel from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. […] The hotel staff in knowledgable of Washington attractions, local dining options, and transportation. Within the same block there is a modestly-priced, but good Mexican restaurant (where there are many more options than tacos and tortilla), and also an IHOP, pizza parlor and fried chicken joint. The hotel offers an impressive--and HOT--breakfast buffet. The rooms are clean, well equiped and quiet. Mehr

I did not expect much from this hotel, it was far away, but it was cheap. When I got there my room was huge, it was impeccably cleaned every day, the shuttle was on time and the driver's friendly, breakfast was free and good, manager was very friendly and gave me a lovely buy one, get one free drink card one night for their bar. This was far away from […] where I had to work in DC, but not a challenging commute, and the hotel was clean, friendly, and a hidden gem. Really far out of town at the end station of metro. Coach to metro station does not go every 20 minutes, it is less, depending on times. Nothing extra, but OK overall. Breakfast better than most. price OK

great stay. room was clean although the coudl use a different look with the credenza..seems like wasted space...front desk staff was friendly....Shout out to AJ the bartender...without him, the trip woudl have just been ok, and I'm not talking about the drinksm but the real conversation

We got our room for half price for the weekend of the 2012 Cherry Blossom Festival. Consider the price, it's a great value. However, we found some negative things about the hotel. On one of our bed, we found the sheet was not that clean. We have 4 guesses in our room but only get two towels. We didn't bring this up to the management so I guess we can't […] complain about it. Overall, we think it a great hotel locates at a very convenient location. We would recommend it to our friend if they pay what we pay. We not sure if we would pay full price for it. Mehr

TV/cable didn't work for 3 days, lots of sirens in the neighborhood. Great shuttle to Metro and easy ride into city.

We booked a king size bed but were originally given a two double bed room upon arrival. The hotel explained that if booked 3rd party (hotels.com), our room selected was not guaranteed. This is in the fine print, we just must have missed it. We were originally told we could not be moved until our 3rd night because they were solidly booked. When we agreed […] to this they had a king size bed/room available (not sure how that occurred.) The first room we were given smelled strongly (not in a good way.) When we were moved to the 8th floor, there was no smell and the room was furnished nicely. We were issued two key cards and one didn't work. We exchanged it and the other didn't work. (We just used the one key.) It is obviously an older hotel that has been updated. Housekeeping cleaned but didn't give us towels back- the front desk corrected this within 1/2 hour. The free shuttle to the Metro was convenient but often late even when scheduled (we waited between 15-30 minutes for pickups both at the hotel and train station.) The immediate area is strictly fast food. There was one Red Lobster and an IHOP attached to the plaza with the hotel (from the reviews we expected more sit down restaurants.) The neighborhood was not safe at night. The continental breakfast is very basic but serves it's purpose. It we visit DC again, we will spend the extra money and stay closer. Mehr

The room was clean, good value for money. It was quiet with everything in working. The staff werent over friendly. The shuttle was set up once an hour. The metro is about one mile away. The taxi fare was $8 to the metro. The metro commute into the city center takes about 25 minutes. If you are headed for BWI in the morning, plan on at taking at least […] an hour and half to get there between the metro and the bus- possibly look into getting the Greenbelt bus all the way from New Carrollton station. Breakfast was mediocre and staff couldn't wait to clear us out. Location is close to some fast food restaurants and about 1km to the metro which brings you downtown. There is a shuttle service to the metro which is convenient (if it leaves on time). Scott, the front desk clerk was very helpful and professional.

Reserved a room with a king bed and were given a room with 2 twin beds instead, and hotel was booked so we couldn't change, and we were not offered any kind of discount. Fit and finish of the room was nothing spectacular, but it was the cheapest hotel in the area that we could find, so that's what you get. Had to really play with the hot water to get […] it to work. Walls were thin, and room was connected to another by doors, and we could hear every little sound and all the traffic. On the plus side, shuttle service to the Metro was convienient, and there are at least four different resteraunts right on the premisis (Italian, mexican, Chinese, and an Ihop) so once you are there you won't ever have to venture out in the terrible traffic in your own vehicle until it's time to leave again. Overall, the pros outweighed the cons for us, and we would consider staying at again. Mehr

My boyfriend and I stayed during April break. When we first got there the staff was rude to us! The complimentary shuttle is not at all convenient and sometimes did not show up at all! The breakfast was horrible and coffee was gross! The location of the place is in a ghetto and many people staying there were drunk locals! It was a decent hotel.. definitely worth the money if you get it for cheap because it is close to the metro and they have a shuttle that takes you there every morning and picks you up throughout the day. Dont plan on spending any time around the hotel though because its not a very nice neighborhood.

it was a good hotel, but there was no tv in the rooms!!! the only option was to pay to rent movies. This was very disappointing.

Hotel was Ok for value, but was NOT how it appeared on Web site or advertised. Is actually more like 10 blocks away from Metro station and the surrounding area is horrible. No where close to eat other then IHOP, Starbucks, or a few bad sandwhich shops. The Hotel is old and in need of updating and repair. Nothing worked correctly in room such as TV, […] internet, etc.. However, the staff was EXCELLANT and the Gym was great. Would stay there again if alone, but not with the family. Mehr

There was a fire on the first night. The hotel did NOT offer any compensation. (The 7th floor alarm never went off.) We woke up to a noisey hallway and a smoke filled room! House keeping NEVER gave us enough towels. Calling for 2 more towels took over an hour. House keeping did NOT refill tissue or coffee. Notes were left after the first night asking […] for tissue ang coffee refills and it was NOT fulfilled! Mehr

We got a special discount on hotels.com, room rates on the hotels website were higher. Good choice if you are on a budget and want to save money. While the hotel was not a luxurious stay, it was definitely above the average in terms of cleanliness and comfort. Free breakfast was over before the stipulated time, however one look at the available choices […] will tell you that its not worth getting up early. Stayed only one night, recommended for budget travellers and those who plan to bring their cars with them (free onsite parking). Mehr

A friend and myself stayed at the Metro Points Hotel for 2 nights. It was very economical and the shuttle to the metro made our trip work perfectly. The room was very nice and breakfast was easy and very convenient. I would certainly recommend it.
