This was the WORST experience I've ever had at a hotel and I've stayed at many hotels all over the country. I had too many major issuse to list, but the minor issues included requests to the hotel staff that were unfulfilled, the hotel was not adequately staffed, and one of the elevators required maintenance that seemed to be ignored. In addition the […] hotel held a party that I did not attend that required armed security and for those in attendance to be searched. I asked if this was a dangerous crowd and is that why they needed so much armed security. I was basically told yeah don't worry about it, we hope nothing goes wrong. I'd recommend to anyone staying there that they call ahead to find out if a club type party is being held there. The "hotel guest" parking lot was filled with party goers that were not even guest at the hotel, I know this for a fact because I was able to move my car from across the street into the "hotel guest" parking lot after the party ended. I was highly disappointed in this hotel and Marriott in general. Mehr

We were very pleased with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The shuttle to the plane went very well. Overall, we would stay there again.

Convenient location to my business needs.

This was a terrible experience I ever had, the front desk staff has NO manner/patient; unhelpful, in-polite phone manner. They need to have more customer service training before start working!! Very disappointed, such a good hotel with NO standard/Poor customer service. (Only the Concierge was very helpful)

Great location. WIthin 20 minutes drive to airport. Very nice and clean although this hotel is suited for business, as the inside is very business look. Great gym, if you must use it on vacations (not mua). If you don't have a car, it's best to eat in the hotel. Did walk for 20 minutes and didn't find anything worth walking that distance. Another thing […] I was a little dissapointed is the parking fee. Stayed one night only and had to pay $20.00, not sure if you pay for the complete stay or per night. I understand if you are in like downtown area where parking is very rare, but c'mon, this hotel has its own parking lot with hundreds of spaces and when I asked the lady at the counter she reply it's the norm in SF, say what? Other than that, if you are spending one night and don't mind the $20 for the parking and need to be close the SF but not that close that the noise becomes an issue?, then this hotel is for you. :) Mehr

Stained carpet, stained furniture upholstery, room was not super clean... tray that held coffee pot/etc clearly had not been cleaned in a long time... general state of room was "pretty clean" but not "super clean." I would not have been disappointed if this was a lower end hotel, but it was not spic and span as I would expect from a Marriott. Rusty […] old fixtures still in shower from previous shower heads, including one in the ceiling that dripped...toilet did not flush properly... had to fix myself, the little fridge ran the whole time and was loud... I could not unplug, as plug was behind giant piece of furniture. And the lighting. Ugh. They are waving energy using the compact fluorescents, but they are using the cheaper/older bulbs that give off a horrible florescent quality of light. I would not recommend this hotel, just because for the price, there are tons of other hotels in the airport area. I do want to say that the staff was very friendly and helpful. Mehr

While the hotel was a bit further from the airport than I thought (It does have airport as a reference) it is a beautiful, comfortable hotel and I would definately recomend it to others. I would suggest that they increase their shuttle service to at least two times an hour.

I truly recommend staying here. My wife and I had a wonderful stay and the service was Amazing! Great staff with mannerism and class!

Had to have my room moved twice. First room was musty smelling and had no flat screen TVs. Second room was completely smelling of mildew and the A/C did not work. 3rd room was acceptable, but still musty/mildewy. The people were very nice, but this place needs some serious room and infrastructure overhaul. Few other options in San Mateo sadly. Substandard […] for Marriott. Mehr

A very nice ambiance, however, the little elevators had a very strong smell...perfume, air freshener overload, couldn't quite put our fingers...noses...on it but we could actually taste it in our mouths! Then we were charged $4.00 more a piece for taking "hot items." All of the employees should be able to tell the patrons what's a go and what's not. Overall it is a very nice place. Location was perfect for event. Close to stores, malls, dining, freeway.

The only thing that I did not like about my stay was the cost of parking. I do not see why they have to charge as they are not near any kind of shopping or dining. It is not like you can park and walk to some activity. I may not have bothered me so much if they would not have charged so much. First of all it was 18 dollars to park which was not told to us. We had a king sweet and there was no fridge, and when I called the front desk the women that I spoke to said that fridge raters only come on your request. I've never heard such a thing like that before!!! The bed was very uncomfortable and there were only 3 pillows and when I called for […] some more pillows to be brought up the women said that they were out of them, and as a result I had a horrible nights sleep. Adequate hotel but not a stunner. Room layout somewhat awkward, parking arrangements somewhat awkward and gate system didn't work when we arrived, dining limited, lobby dated. Still; nothing really wrong with this hotel.

Nice hotel with very friendly staff. Lots of amenities and decent drive to SF....took us about 35 minutes. Only con was self parking is $18 a night.

This hotel is close to the freeway, but not close to any restaurants. Without a means of transportation, you have to eat at the restaurant in the hotel (California Grill) which is very overpriced for poor quality food. It would be nice if the hotel provided a shuttle to downtown San Mateo where there are many, many restaurants to choose from and is […] only about seven blocks away. Our suite was clean and beautiful. The king-sized bed was especially comfortable, but the pull-out sofa bed needed a pillow top! There were three adults in our party, and we had to request extra linens even though the hotel knew how many would be staying in the room. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the shuttle driver at the airport, but then he […] gave us some great tips on how to get downtown the next day (take the shuttle to the airport and take BART downtown). We didn't check in until 11:30 pm and we were put in a room right by where they hold weddings. So we were first awaken a 6am to sound check for music. VERY LOUD! Then 3 times starting at 8am house keeping kept walking into our room without a knock. VERY RUDE! I called the front desk and they laughed at me and said if I would have reserved with them […] I wouldn't have had these problems. ALSO RUDE!! I have never been so unsatisfied. I feel like since my husband and I were not part of the wedding party, that they felt we were not important. I also feel I could have gone to a Holiday Inn and been treated with more respect. Mehr

The hotel was decent, the room was decorated very nicely with modern furniture and nice colors all around. It gave the room a much more relaxed feeling instead of the usual generic hotel decor. The only thing I expected differently from a 4 star hotel was a refrigerator in the room. That was the only thing that was missing and needed. Also the map of […] the hotel listed a vending machine/ice being located just outside my room but it was only ice. Besides that, everything was what I expected. Mehr

Wasn't a fantastic stay, although decent workout facilities and pool. Very typical Marriott.

I strongly suggest taking advantage of the breakfast buffet, if the price is right. It is splendid - omelletes made to order, lox, sausage and bacon, scrambled eggs. I also recommend a suite, again if the price is right. Only drawback is that hotel is a half-hour away from San Francisco.

They let me check in an hour early, and quickly changed my suite when I discovered I was next to the pool. The pool was nice, hot tub big, gyms nice, and lobby beautiful. The rooms were large enough to fit some big furniture and not be cramped. Closet was small, bathroom was big. No minibar, which was fine because we brought our own snacks. The breakfast […] buffett that came free with our stay was AWESOME! omlette bar, salmon and bagels, variety of fruit, it was delicious. The bartender was very friendly. The only cons were the cost of parking and wireless internet. Its not free in the rooms, only in the lobby. Mehr

First I checked in late and was given a room key to a room that someone else was already checked into. I then had a room that the tub did not drain. Ick! Also the pipes shook when I turn the hot water on the sink all the way to the left (annoying) and it seemed to be same for the rooms around me because I was awoken many times at 4 am, 5 am to hear […] other similar sounds in the walls and ceiling above me. We were treated very well. The breakfast was excellent, not just your regular boring buffet. the valet service was outstanding. Only down side was the pool and hot tub were packed with parents and kids...too many to enjoy the facilities. They have a Starbucks coffee shop as well. Enjoyed our stay.

I was surprised that I had to pay for parking in the hotel. Food choices could be better.

La calidad del hotel es muy buena. No me gusto que cobraran para estacionar el vehiculo ya que el hotel no tiene restricciones de aparcamiento y el cobro me parece exagerado por lo que deberian notificarlo en la descripcion del hotel.
