Washington Marriott Wardman Park - Washington

Hotel is clean and modern; staff is friendly. Metro stop literally right outside the door and just a short walk to the zoo. Great for our family trip to DC. Also, able to get adjoining rooms.

The Wardman is an old hotel that hasn't been spruced up in a while. I couldn't get the wi-fi to work in the lobby and had to pay $16 a night in my room. There's no decent coffee shop for several blocks.

Hotel staff very friendly. The "children eat free" deal is only good if your children select off the children's menu which is limited. The Burgers were large but bland. Chicken fingers were good. Breakfast buffet was fair at best... My room was not very clean. Beds were uncomfortable.

Smaller and less expensive hotels are now offering free wi-fi service in rooms.

The location is great. Buffet breakfast was very good. We stayed there during cherry blosson festival, the hotel had beautiful flowers all over the place.

this hotel is so good very comfortable~! but... roomservice didn't work. I don't know why.. i hope they're fix this system. other things are very good

Nice Hotel, Updated lobby, Nice gym, Friendly staff (as is the norm at Marriott properties)

Located immediately across the street from the Woodley Park/Adams Morgan Metro stop (Red Line). Nice hotel, great service.

The hotel is too far away from shopping eating districts and is exorbitantly expensive in it's own shops. $12/day for internet access is criminal. Forget about room service.

I like this property because it has metro access, good restaurants nearby and is an easy walk to Adams Morgan and Dupont. Has more of a DC neighborhood feel than many of the downtown hotels.

Right on Metro line with several restaurant options within walking distance. Very large corporate type hotel, but friendly helpful staff.

Was attending a convention in the hotel so stayed there overnight. Clean, very convenient to the Metro, nice restaurants nearby (The Lebanese Taverna was great). There is a nice place for breakfast items and sandwiches in the lobby, Woodley Market, but it has a huge line during peak hours. Harry's Pub in the lobby is a great place for a beer.

I stayed in this hotel because my conference was housed there. I found the hotel to be poorly equipped to handle large groups of people especially in the morning, when everyone is seeking a cup of coffee and some sort of breakfast before heading to the first session at 8:30 am. The lines were immense; there was only one coffee bar and at first with […] only 2 people working. Later they added 2 more staff people to handle the crowd. But even that was extremely slow going. Also, the restaurant selection in that neighborhood was average at best, and there was not a single coffee shop in the area!! Last, the hotel really needs to be updated and refreshed. It really was showing its age and I had a lot of allergies in the room especially (eyes itching, read, sneezing, etc.). I discovered many of my colleagues at the conference suffered from the same thing... I would definitely not return to this hotel. Mehr

Everything was good about the hotel, except the bed and pillows. They were adequate, but compared to others I wasn't impressed. Great location right at Woodley Park Metro Station. No free WIFI in the room.

We were in room 957 which apparently is right under the 'Club' and even though the club was closed for a week some men must ot snuck in or they were doing tepair. Someone spoke on the phone from 11pm to 2:30am and the proceded to move furniture. The talking happened both nights the moving furniture ocurred the last light. When I checked out I at 8am […] I was told that that was not possible because the club was closed for a week. The hallway and our roon smelled a little musty but the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Mehr

I am a frequent visitor to DC and this hotel was excellent. The location (across from the Zoo) was great for my needs. The hotel was very clean, well maintained and up to date and very quiet (no noise from surrounding rooms). There were lots of places to eat in the area. Great hotel. Clean room and next to Metro. Almost too big, their own staff did not know where all conference rooms were located. Only complaint.

Terrific hotel with convenience all around. Subway stop was right on the property. We found a great sushi place about two minutes from the hotel. We stayed there hoping to explore DC, we found a terrific spot. We will stay here again

This was our fourth stay at the Wardman Park Marriot for a quick one night get away. They allowed us to check in before 11am which was not expected but appreciated. Everything about the hotel is quite nice. The underside of the toilet seat was not spotless....but that doesn't bother me all that much. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. It's […] a long walk up the front hill from the Metro but there is another way to get to the lobby by using the elevator from the Metro stop and then walking to the back from the corner of Connecticut Ave. and Woodley Road. There are some beautiful neighborhoods nearby for walking if one has some extra time. The grounds are very nicely maintained. Will definitely stay here again. Mehr

The hotel was very convenient and comfortable but the staff really made it special. Every person we met during our stay was friendly and helpful. It is obviously a staff that cares about what they do. Very impressed.

When I arrived there was no place to leave my car for the few minutes it took me to check into the hotel. I had to park in the underground lot. I was only in the hotel for 30 minutes and came back out. It cost $30 for that parking time. The staff at the reception desk was aloof, did not make eye contact, did not smile, they merely said, "next." There […] was not "thank you." I felt like an intruder. Mehr

The Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel is a special treat for an overnight trip to Washington DC. Though it is a big conference hotel, the staff took every bit of good care of us on our one night visit. The Wardman is beautifully styled from the gardens to the lobby to the guest rooms. The staff impeccably trained to cater to guests. Near the Washington […] Zoo Metro stop, it was easy to go anywhere. Our only dissappointment was that the nearby neighborhood was closing when we returned from a DC United soccer match at 10:30 pm. We ended up at Harold's Pub in the Wardman for late night fare and drinks. We were not dissapointed. Mehr

If you like sleeping in shopping malls and are more comfortable with a gigantic chain facility than a boutique hotel, then this is the place for you. Once inside, you can barely tell you are in DC, which is sorta weird. Staff is very friendly, and hotel is very clean. Just too big and homogeneous.

Nice hotel, close to the Woodly Park Metro (Red Line) and the Zoo. Large selection of restaurants of all budgets and ethnicities within 1 block of the hotel. 1 block from Rock Creek Park running trail. Had a conference directly across the street at the Omni, and this was a less expensive and much nicer hotel overall. Staff and amenities were as would […] be expected for a fairly expensive hotel in DC. Nothing stood out as amazing, but nothing to complain about either. Mehr

Massive hotel in a quaint neighborhood with tons of restaurants. Wish I could have spent more time both in the hotel and surrounding area.

Location is ideal for the DC Zoo, Trip started out as a birthday present for my sister to take her grandchildren to the zoo,......... Hotel is just 3 blocks from the zoo...... Neighborhood was very pleasant and historical. I enjoyed the trip as much if not more than my sister and the children.

We had a great time in DC and hotel was close to Metro. We would stay again!!

Hotel was close to metro. Room was adequate although the bathroom was very small. There was a good deal of noise because of the location, 3rd floor near a busy road and right off the elevator. We had to wait 3 hours after the check in time for our room, and the reason we got our room then was because we complained and then they "moved some things around" […] and were able to find us a clean room. The wifi didn't work on my Wife's smart phone. The pool closed at 10pm even though it said 11pm in the hotel information binder in the room. The parking charge for a two night stay was over $90. On check out they never asked how the stay was, just told me the WiFi charge was $24, they did remove the charge when I informed them it didn't work correctly. If you want a hotel close to the metro and you can't find anything else in the area then you could stay here, but I wouldn't recommend it. Mehr

I have been to many places that look nothing like the pictures they posted. When my family stepped into our room it was like stepping into the picture. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was closer to the zoo than we thought. Which was great! We are already planning another trip down to DC. We will be staying here again! Thanks!
