Sehr schönes Hotel. Lage ist top. Wenige Minuten bis Union Square, Cable Car und der traditionellen Straßenbahnlinie, die bis Fishermen's Wharf geht. Dadurch auch super Anbindung mit BART vom Flughafen zum Hotel. Die Angestellten waren stets freundlich und hilfsbereit, was zu einem sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt geführt hat. Alles in allem ein tolles Hotel, das defintiv beim nächsten Aufenthalt in der engeren Auswahl ist.

Preisgünstiges Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Empfang und sauberen Zimmern. Leider etwas laut (Lüfter). Das Frühstück ist recht nüchtern.

Das Palace, ein Luxury Collection Hotel, liegt zentral in Downtown San Francisco, Kalifornien, an der Kreuzung Market und New Montgomery Street.Die Züge der BART halten direkt vor dem Hotel.
Charakteristika des Hotels

Auf der Speisekarte stehen Ziegenkäse-Soufflé, Sonoma-Lammrippchen, Black Angus-Filet mit Wildpilzen und Brownies. Täglich Mittag- und Abendessen.
Pied Piper Bar - Blickfang ist das Wandgemälde von Maxfield Parrish The Pied Piper of Hamlin, das anlässlich der Wiedereröffnung des Hotels im Jahr 1909 gemalt wurde. Das dunkle Holz und die Kasettendecke erinnern an einen Gentlemen’s Club des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts. Täglich werden Cocktails, Bier, Wein und Kaffeespezialitäten serviert.
Das in der vierten Etage gelegene Fitnessstudio lädt mit einem lichtdurchfluteten Pool sowie einer Sauna und einem Fitnesscenter ein.
Das Palace Hotel ist ca. viereinhalb Meilen (7,2 km)vom historischen Presidio-Golfplatz entfernt, der unter Aufsicht von Arnold Palmer Golf Management modernisiert wurde.

"Perfekte Lage für Touristen"
Freundliche Angestellte, super Hotel, beim Zimmerservice mussten wir ein bißchen nachhelfen, da nach 2 Tage das Badezimmer nicht gereinigt worden ist. Ansonsten sehr zu empfehlen. Direkt am Hotel die "F-" Bahnlinie, die zum Pier 39 fährt, Cable Car zu Fuss erreichbar (ca. 10Minuten) Market Street direkt am Hotel.
"Top Suite"
Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis hat die Erwartungen übertroffen. Ein wunderschönes Hotel und eine Top Suite zu einem Preis, für den man sonst ein Zimmerchen erhält. Das Frühstück ist teuer, aber erstklassig.
"Nobel und exzellente Lage eingepreist"
Altes, nobles Haus mit sehenswertem Speisesaal sowie modernem SPA (Fitness, Sauna, Jacuzzi und großer Pool geeignet zum echten Sportschwimmen), sehr freundliche Bedienung. Die Zimmerqualität war in Ordnung, entsprach aber nicht dem hohen Preis (Blick in grauen Hinterhof, Normalbad mit Duschvorhang, Qualität des Zimmerservices stark schwankend, dicker […] Staub in den Ecken, Kühlschrank im Eispanzer, kaputte Leuchte). Den Concierge – Service (begleitete PC-Auswahl) kann man sich sparen, das geht schneller mit kostenloser WLAN vom eigenen Zimmer aus. Die Lage ist exzellent. Sehenswürdigkeiten, Theater und Shopping zu Fuß. Straßenbahn, Cable Car, U-Bahn und Regionalbahn (Flughafen, besser als Shuttle und Taxi) direkt vor der Tür. Hotelparkhaus kostet 48 Dollar pro Nacht. Gute Lage im Financial District, nähe Union Square, Cable-Car-Endstation, Shopping-Center und vielen Verpflegungsmöglichkeiten. Grosses Hallenbad mit Glasdach bietet abends einen tollen Ausblick auf die umliegenden Hochhäuser und viel Spass für die Kinder. Mitarbeiter sehr hilfsbereit und kompetent. The service was impeccable. The hotel beautiful and it turned out to be a very convenient location. Plus, we were given a room that faced a quiet street. It was very quiet, which is a real luxury in downtown SF!

Great location. Staff very nice. Great time in San Francisco.
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times and have always enjoyed it; it has become our favorite. The service and amenities have always been topnotch. We usually arrive by BART which brings us right to their door. Most of the things we want to do and see are within walking distance.

"Grand stay in the heart of the city"
We stayed with kids for a night here. The place is grand and my 2 yr old daughter had fun just exploring the hotel public places, stairways, chandeliers etc. The hotel can be a bit expensive but overall given the location (right next to BART and in the heart of the city) and the decor, it's well worth it.
"Outstanding service"
The front desk manager went out of his way to assist us when our key failed to work. When we checked out, he even carried our luggage to the BART station as he could see we were loaded on. It really made the difference in our stay.

"Nice hotel in SF, convenient to FiDi & Union Sq"
Interior of the hotel is nice, it has a certain charm to it especially during the holidays. Service is great, prompt & very welcoming. Hotel itself is historic so the amount of space can leave something to be desired but its SF, there's not a lot of room in any hotel rooms to begin with. Parking is expensive & typical of the hotel parking rates in […] SF, but there's convenient 3rd party locations nearby. Only complaint is receiving your car if you choose to park in their structure, the mandatory valet parking can result in waiting quite a while since everyone's trying to get their cars. Mehr
"Palace Hotel in SF is fantastic!"
I wan't sure what to expect at this hotel, looking great on a website has fooled me in the past. We stay in SF frequently and usually try a different hotel each time, just for kicks. This place was the nicest one! (OK we don't stay at the Westin St Francis) The location is unbeatable by ANY hotel. Just outside is the underground for the Muni & BART, […] one minute walk from a quiet Starbucks, and not anywhere near the Tenderloin, which most downtown hotels are adjacent to. Inside was BEAUTIFUL. It is one of the classiest and nicest hotels in SF. The on site restaraunt and bar were overpriced, but gorgeous. Dozens of other choices are within a three minute walk. Parking, like at any other downtown hotel is pricey. If you must have a car there, which you should avoid using anytime during your stay, park in Japan Town. Across the street is the start of Geary which will take you directly there and has quick cheap bus travel. If you read any complaints about people not enjoying their stay in SF, you know they were using a car. Don't do it! Ditch your car somewhere cheap (Japan Town) and don't look at it again till you check out. The room we stayed in on the 8th floor was a little larger than most downtown rooms, but still small. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens and the bathroom was large. The room had everything you would want with a big desk, tons of outlets, operable windows, large closet, nice hangers, a robe, small fridge, large TV, etc, etc. The room was beautiful, as was the rest of the hotel. The carpeting shown signs of a little wear, but the overall quality and location make up for any preceived shortcoming. The service level of each person we encountered was top rate. The bellmen, customer service agents, and wait staff were all very friendly, efficient and good natured. I think I will have to end my hotel swapping and stick to this one for a while. Mehr

Excellent location. Union Square, Embarcadero, Church and many others places you would like to see, restaurant and and must-see sights is by it. You are park your car in the hotel with no worry.

Location superb, service and personnel were great. Walls were so thin that you could hear conversations from the next room on both sides. We could hear a cell phone conversation next door, where we could hear both sides of the conversation through the thin walls. On a busy weekend, where both rooms next to you are occupied, this makes for a very unpleasant […] stay. Rest of hotel is great and has old world charm, but would not stay here again for that reason. We recently stayed in the Palace Hotel for six nights while visiting my daughter in San Francisco. When we wanted to get a reservation for high tea (a must!) in the lobby on Christmas Eve and were told it was told out, the wonderful concierge, Debbie, got us reservations at 2:00 p.m.! She also took care of a rental car for a trip to Half Moon Bay. Another […] good recommendation from the concierge for dinner--Waterbar--made our last night together very memorable. Excellent as always...this was a day of booking and everthing turned out extremely well considering it was Christmas eve.

"Old, Crowded, Dirty"
The lobby of this hotel is beautiful, but the rooms are pretty old and in need of rennovation. My bed sheets had stains on them. Luckily I had two twin beds in my room, so I just slept in the opposite bed. The only good thing about this hotel, aside from the lobby, is that it is within walking distance from a few major shopping centers. A luxury hotel, well-located with a Bart station on the corner. Free morning coffee especially appreciated. The breakfast buffet is expensive but the service and the beauty of the room make it a lovely experience. Lobby was busy due to holiday activities and displays but this did not detract from my visit.

Beautiful old hotel, nice public spaces. Rooms are decent size, bed was comfortable. Great shower/water pressure. However, we could hear everything in neighboring rooms (including people having sex), every sound in the hallways echoes and is amplified. Especially Sunday when people were checking out. "They made it a great weekend for our family"
The vallet parking was very convenient. I was pleasantly surprised to be allowed to check in early and most of all I loved that after we checked out we were able to leave our car in their parking lot for several hours while we did more shopping and had a late lunch. I can't wait to stay there again.

My husband and I periodically spend a weekend in San Francisco, and we chose this hotel recently because of its historic character (and especially beautiful public spaces). We had a wonderful experience as a result of some special attention from the front desk manager, who went out of his way to help when we had difficulty using our door key ( leaving […] champagne in our room by way of apology). When we left, he even walked us to the Bart station to help us down the stairs with our luggage. This kind of service is rare nowadays, and it definitely earned our loyalty. the hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are quite comfortable. An excellent choice, in my book. Mehr
"Quiet and comfortable"
Upsides: Room was spacious and comfortable, and slept like a baby in the bed. The bathroom was also really nice and clean. A free bottle of water is a nice touch too. Didn't try the internet so can't comment on that. Location is also really handy. Within 10mins walk of an incredible selection of nightclubs and restaurants. Downsides: They closed their […] beautiful lobby area off at night so there's nowhere to go to relax outside your room - tough if the other is sleeping and you want to read. Everything was great except our keys only worked once in awhile and that was frustrating. The coffee in the little machine was not good and no tea except green was offered. The bathroom at the pool was not clean.

Thought that the staff at the front desk was snobby, but the location was right . The room was fairly clean, but there was hair in the bathtub.
"OK hotel, overrated"
the higher ratings didn't seem to match the experience I had at this hotel. The common areas seemed run down and the rooms were OK. I had to have someone come fix my heating system that only blew cold air into the room, and none of the rooms have the individual coffee/tea makers.

Great stay at good location..the trolly out side our door was only$.75 down to the Ferry Bld. and wharf cause we're old. The Hotel was well maintained for an old,historic hotel.The only complaint was the week spray in the shower. Staff was very helpful when I phoned re: my lost jacket. House keeping had it in the lost and found and the conseirge agreed […] to mail it to me. Mehr

We absolutely loved the hotel!! unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy it as much as we would have loved to. I loved how quiet it was and we were able to rest all night without any noise. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful, the gym was great as well as the pool usually this hotels don't have pools and they are very small the receptionist at the gym […] was very helpful and sweet. Coffee was great in the lobby !! The service overall was wonderful, unfortunately I think the breakfast was too expensive and didn't have much of a variety. They were very accommodating and definitely we will be back next year and spend an extra day to enjoy the entire hotel, and get to take the tour of the hotel. Thank you for everything !! Mehr

I went with my boyfriend and parents to this hotel, and we were very satisfied with our stay. The people were very helpful and nice. There was always someone free to help whenever we needed it. The room was very nice and clean. It is however a downer that the hotel doesn't offer free internet. Also the parking is quite stiff, but is seems to be everywhere. […] Instead of having the breakfast for about $30 you may want to go to The Grove, very nice place nearby that the hotel recommended. The Palace does, however, have a jazz trio playing while you eat. "Excellent Stay at the Palace"
This is the third time we've stayed at the Palace and, as usual, everything was excellent. The concierge was extremely helpful in finding a fun Italian restaurant nearby, even making the reservations for us!

We stayed here last minute because we didn't want to deal with driving home after a party on a rainy night. We parked on the street nearby to avoid paying $50 for overnight parking at the hotel and our car was just fine. The hotel felt grand, the staff treated us like royalty, and the room was beautiful!
