La Quinta Inn & Suites Lakeland West - Lakeland

I have stayed here before and knew enough to book far enough in advance to get the best Hotels.com rate. Just off I-4 and Hwy 98, it's easy to get downtown or to the mall and 8 major restaurants (nearby). The AC's inthe room are run by a separate thermostat and make the reoom very comfortable. The beds are also very comfortable, TV's are all flat screens […] with good cable access and the breakfast is more than adequate. A definite return to hotel. Mehr

Was given a smoking that stunk. A/C would go off during the night. Hotel room was not maintained very well at all.

Nice friendly staff, clean hotel has been upgraded a little. lacks a business center to print out boarding passes or anything else, like tickets to Tiger Spring Training games. Exercise room has old, old equipment. Restaurants close by and close to I-4. Not the best hotel in Lakeland.

Everything was great except I had asked for a non smoking room and didnt get that

Generally fine, except for a few things - a chair positioned where you trip over it going from your bed to the bathroom in the night; toilet too tall to allow my feet to reach the floor, and very loud flush. There happened to be a basketball tournament in town, so the guests were noisy late, but that was probably true at all the hotels that night. Breakfast […] was poor - hardly any fruit, no oatmeal, no real butter for toast. It was clean and generally acceptable, but nothing I would recommend. Mehr

Check in was good, room was clean, very nice. Went to concert arrived home at 11:30pm, there was no where to park the car, Front Desk told us we would have to park at the I Hop (not). A/C did not work right was hot in room. Saturday we left at 12P.M for another concert, arrived back at 5:30P M to a dirty room. Housekeeping never made the room up. No […] clean towels to shower with. Talked to F.D they said to come to desk to get clean ones. Elevator did not work, ice machine broken. The floor we were on was smoking, even though F D said it was not. I have a lung problem, and my Daughter is diabetic. The walking up and down stairs was not good nor the smoke smell in the halls. I just wish the maintenance at the hotel had been up to par. This was the first time the both of us had been away together for a long time. My daughter even wants to go next year and would like to stay at this hotel again. The maintenance needs to be up to par like the room was. Mehr

Room was very reasonable and nice.

Hotel was very dated. It really needs remodeling, rooms were clean but paint and wood work need updating.

One thing stood out.....The helpfulness of the front desk fellow........Then The Jacuzzi was nice and clean it felt good after atough day!! the room was big and the beds very comfortable. I will stay there agin easily!!!

The only thing I would have liked is a room with a microwave & fridge. The hotel itself was very comfortable and CLEAN!!!

Very clean and comfortable. Will stay again.

The a/c is control by a senor termostad and is control to at the front counter so if u run with any problem with a hot room call the front counter because they dont say nothing unless u said somthing.

This was the third or fourth visit to this particular location. We have always been happy with our stays. Service and comfort were excellent.

We were very, very surpised ! We will definately stay here again!

THE day clerk was very helpfull as we arrived early&he found us a room & we were able to check in .This was very helpfulas I had a busy schudle. Our stay was very pleasent &the room very quiet.

I must start by commending Russell (working front desk late Sat. night). He saw some men follow us into the hotel and called the police to check on us and ensure we were safe. Quite impressive. Kudos to Russell. We can't figure out how he knew what room we were as he did not check us in. As for the rooms, my only complaint is other rooms had flat tv's […] and microwaves and we did not and it does not look like the cleaning crew vacumn under the beds. We were in room 518. This was my first trip to Lakeland in years. I wanted a motel close to the ball park for Tiger games. This motel was located less than 1 mile from the Stadium. The facilities were fine, and many other Tiger fans were at breakfast.

Great hotel but they moved some of the breakfast electrical appliances around and it kept tripping the circuit breaker. The had to turn off the tv and eventually moved some of the appliances but it was about halfway thru breakfast and the house was full. The breakfast bar was great with plenty of selections

This hotel was very easy to find off of I-4 in Lakeland Florida. Just about 4 miles to the center of friendly little town center, straight travel. Plenty of retail surrounding hotel. The rooms were clean, slightly in need of refreshing, eg: rugs worn. Staff nice. Nice pool but shaded. Good breakfast selection. Gym poor however due to the broken treadmill […] hotel guests could go the Golds gym less than a 1/2 mils away. Good for a couple of nights stay for business. Mehr

We booked a room that was non-smoking and two beds. We were given a smoking room with one bed. We asked to be switched and were told that was the only room they had and it was non-smoking. It clearly was a smoking room since it was on the 6th floor and had an ash tray in it. The whole room smelled of smoke. It was late so we stayed but the experience […] was very bad. Turning on the air just made the smoke smell worse. We have always tried to stay at a La Quinta but the rude way we were treated I doubt we will again. Mehr

Hotel was perfect, it was nice and CLEAN!! We did have our pet with us and it was excellent. We felt right at home and the staff was very nice. Will stay here again.

It's no Ritz but it was a decent room for the price. I've paid much more for worse rooms. I travel to Lakeland often and will be willing to be stay here again.

Could not believe such a nice hotel would allow dogs, but they treated me very well and were welcoming to my two large working dogs. They had a nice breakfast and coffee every morning and there are tons of eating places and shopping places close by. IHOP is walking distance. I was very surprised at how great this hotel was, and how inexpensive, and […] I could bring my dogs...it was perfect! I am telling everyone. And it's only a 20 minute drive to Plant City. Mehr

Hotel staff were polite & professional; room was comfortable & clean. Dings are that the breakfast offerenings were scant (bananas, cereal, waffle & coffee, milk, apple juice & terribly watered down OJ). Only hotel I've ever stayed at where the maid service showed up before 10am. Close access to interstate, mall, gas, fast food & casual family rest […] aurants. Mehr

always stay here when in lakeland

I stayed there once before with no problem but this time there was no internet connection. The iron was broken. The outlet at the desk was broken. I did not have time to try and correct these issues so noone there is aware.

Simple hotel with pool. Pool area aging and not the cleanest. However, the room and breakfast were great. The room was clean and very comfortable. Location was very convient to Route 4 and a lot of restaurants and shopping.
