Rocky Gap Lodge - Flintstone

Spent a wonderful weekend at Rocky Gap Resort. Will add it to my list of favorite hotels

location is beautiful

Large, comfortable, clean room with a beautiful lake view at a reasonable rate. Definitely worth repeating.

I booked a deluxe room and received a Junior Suite, which was very nice. I assume a got a free upgrade due to availability. The surrounding park and area are beautiful -- great for hiking and site seeing. BUT ... the hotels.com information stated all rooms have refrigerator and microwave -- not true. A refrigerator is an extra $15 per day based on availability. […] It is included free only on the most preminum accomodations -- mine did not include it. I did not inquire about a microwave. The Rocky Gap website seems to be accurate. Mehr

Overall, Rocky Gap is a nice place to stay. My only disappointment was that I called one of the restaurants during business hours and had to leave a message to request dinner for carry out. I never received a call back and never got dinner.

Amazing place to stay if you value the outdoors. Food at restaurant mediocre.

Scenery was magnificent and staff were very helpful with tips to help enjoy the area offerings. Conference facilities and catering were very good.

It is just a beautiful, beautiful place to stay. Quiet, clean rooms. Service was exceptional. The surrounding park and lake is just gorgeous. There is much to do in the particular area. Golfing, hiking, swimming, fishing, biking in the warmer weather. It's nice for retreats, weddings, and banquets.

This was our second visit to the lodge and was not quite as nice as the first one. The cost of the room was not worth what we paid plus it was right next to the elevator. Talk about a two noisy nights. The food in the restaurant was good but not worth the prices they were charging. The staff service was very good but they need to acquire more luggage […] carts. Had to make three trips back and forth to get our luggae to the car when checking out. Overall the stay was okay. Mehr

The hotel food was pretty good. I do not suggest the Garden Spa. Highly overpriced for the worst manicure I have ever had!!!

The hotel was wonderful and the views were great. The room was very nice and the staff very accommodating. There just isn't much to do there. They need a game room or more comfortable seating for relaxing and lounging. The bar is too small and boring. It was too cold to hike around and there wasn't much else to do but go to the pool.

My husband and I stayed here for an anniversary trip. It was scenic and peaceful, with a beautiful view from our deluxe room of the lake. The resort is very convenient to the nearby town of Cumberland and the Western MD Scenic Railroad.

The black mark on an otherwise pristine get away weekend in the mountains was terribly marred by guests in surrounding rooms partying in the hall till nearly 1AM before neccessitating a call to security. This resolved the matter promptly. The only other problem was a flyer in the room indicating a brucnh buffet to begin at 11:30 AM on Sunday which we […] purposely waited to enjoy since the previous night's meal was so good. Only upon going to the restraunt at 11:30 did we discover they no longer served the bruch and were only serving lunch which we did not wish to have !! Mehr

Everything perfect - except for the fellow who makes up the egg concoctions - a real sourpus!

I staid there 2 days for Columbus Day. The environment was amazing, the forest displaying a lot of very nice colors. The hotel is ok. The swimming pool is very nice and the lounge is quite cosy to have dinner.

This hotel was wonderful. There is so much to do on the property, from hiking/biking to fishing to paddle boats. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who was looking for a fun weekend getaway in the countryside. We are definitely going back.
