"10 Dollar Aufpreis"Bewertet von einem Hotels.com Gast am 4. Mai. 2012

Dort also Vorsicht!
"Abigail Hotel"
This is my second time visiting the Abigail Hotel. The emplyees are very nice. The only problem was when we attended our room, there was very few things in the closet from the last people who had the room. Also, when we checked in we were told that breakfast was from 7am- 11am. However when i went down for breakfast at 1030am, the woman at the desk […] said they had closed breakfast early. I was a lil disappointed because I was hungry and looking forward for some orange juice. Other then that, Abigail Hotel is a nice hotel and i recommend it to others. Just as long as they dont make that mistake again. Mehr
"Better than expected"
To tell the truth, when I booked one three cheapest hotels, my expectations were very low. I booked the Abigail due to its proximity to where I needed to be. However, upon my arrival, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and comfortable. But the biggest surprise was the service. The staff was genuinely interested that my stay was enjoyable. […] Diana in particular was truly a gem. I will stay at the Abigail the next time I am in San Francisco. Mehr

"A polished Terd by the bay."
The price per night was very appealing but now that old saying "you get what you pay for" holds true. The door was cracked, elevator was not working and there is no customer parking. You are forced to use valet parking service which was very pricey. The valet service cost almost as much as the room itself. I recommend you spend a few extra $$ you'll […] thank yourself for doing so. Mehr
Decent hotel for the price, didn't really like the old portable heaters but they worked!
"Very Noisy"
The elevator was out so we took the stairs up four flights. The electricity was not working right, so we had to run an extension cord from the bathroom to run a portable heater. However, the most unexpected aspect of our stay was the all-night pattern of noise, including car alarms, screaming from neighboring building windows, and frequent sirens of […] emergency response vehicles. Mehr
"Not bad, I will stay here again!"
The staff is friendly, the hotel is tidy, the location is great, PLUS breakfast and WiFi are free. When was the last time you heard that? But remember, this is a very basic tourist hotel with super low rates ... set your expectations accordingly. I moved rooms 2 times before I got reliable WiFi. Rooms are a good size, the staff is generally friendly. […] There's cable tv, but the sets are really old. The furnishings are well kept, but have seen better days. I felt safe [ even though the neighborhood is sketchy, the location is FANTASTIC (transport - BART, airport link, Muni and Zipcar) plus it's walking distance to downtown attractions and cultural centers. Even if I wasn't on a budget, I would stay here again. Mehr
"good place if on budget"
This place is okay. Staff was nice but scattered& unfocused. I also saw 6 roaches in 2 days. Hmmm...

"What is the best thing about the Abigail?"
The main reason one would choose to stay is the price. That is probably the only reason!
"Abagail isn't a hotel"
The hotel isn't finished, no working elevator, and the rooms that are finished are on the 6th floor. No bell hop, so you will be carrying your luggage up 6 flights of stairs, through the ruined 4th and 5th floors which still have plaster all over the floor, and unpainted walls where they repaired (?) holes. check in time isn't until mid afternoon, so […] if you show up at 2 or 3 plan on walking around San Fran for a few hours. Room service came knocking on our door at around 6pm, and because I didn't have a do not disturb sign they barged in on me while I was in the bathroom without even knocking. Homeless surround the hotel because the Public Library is across the road, so you have people begging and waiting for you to drop something in the garbage so they can go diving after it. And yell at you for not throwing away Burger King Fries because "those are best". Oh and it's loud, with the windows closed i still was woken up throughout the night by sirens and people yelling on the street. The rooms are tiny, but its a cheap place which is expected. If you go bring your own blanket or sleeping bag. The only positive thing about the hotel was the staff, they were nice and kind, and though the lady at the desk was brand new, she knew the city. However it doesn't inspire confidence if they can't keep permanent staff for very long. All in all it was pretty awful, unless you like lots of stairs, in a condemned dirty building surrounded by the sounds of police sirens and homeless fighting... wait, you could just look for a condemned building and throw down a sleeping bag upstairs. Oh yeah the TV didn't work, but that's not a problem because you wont want to spend to much time in this place. Mehr
"Just remember you get what you pay for!!!!"
Not enough parking to safely park so that valet service can take your car. Can only help one person at a time in the check in process, the employees never made eye contact, that was weird to me. Elevator out of order. Room was on 3rd floor and the stairs were quite steep, especially the first set. The room was small, we had 4 people and if 1 wanted […] to move the other 3 had to sit down. The bathroom sink felt like it was ready to fall off the wall, the water pressure in the shower was the only good thing about the room. The cold air came through the old windows and the space heater they provided worked until they shut down the power and was not turned on until approx 8:30am. It is just a poorly managed hotel. We handled it because it near the venue and we just need to have somewhere to change and sleep for a few hours...we did and it was a cheap hotel and you get what you pay for!!!! I do not see myself or my other 3 guest staying there in the near future!!!! Mehr

"good service, nice people, but u get what u pay fo"
This is not a hotel for everyone. If you looking for a fancy hotel and all the possible amenities a hotel could have, skip this one. No parking, but they will offer valet parking at an extra cost. Wifi does not work in everyroom, continental breakfast is really limited. But the worst was that the elevator didn't work. But at least they acomodated me […] properly, game me a too On the second floor so I didn't had to carry my l Lodgage to much. Overall if u staying for a few days and need something cheap and don't have a csr this is ur place other then that skip it. Mehr
"ICE-cold"
Here we are in a San Francisco that have a warmer winter than it have in a long time. Arrive Abigail and are shocked by the cold air that met us in the lobby. The girl in the reception is friendly and helpful. The hotel is old and smells a bit like cat urine, but all old hotel do. The first night was a nightmare. It was super cold in the room. The extra […] blanket wasn`t enough. Lucky for us, we had our winter blanket in our car. The location of the hotel is not a problem if you know what kind of area it is. But please dont bring your kids here, it can be scary. The old, cold and smelly Abigail Hotel is not to recomend to others. Find a better hotel in a better area. Hopefully you get the same nice weather as us and a great time in San Francisco Mehr
"Abigail"
The only good thing about the hotel was location. The staff constantly changed night and day shifts and only two staff members on days were friendly, the night staff seemed a bit slow or were unable to answer a question without making a phone call (even as easy as where a near restaurant was). Elevator still broken, will it ever be fixed? Luckily I'm […] active to stomp up the stairs but quite an incline and steep for four flights of stairs! Breakfast was juice, coffee, and your choice of toast (not a big fan of breakfast so it didn't matter much to me. Now I'm not a difficult customer or expect lavish treatment so I'll only speak of what really annoyed me. It was annoying to sleep through the cold, no heater in the hotel; the space heaters provided in the rooms offer little heat and I still woke up frozen. The bed was extremely lumpy, felt like a sinkhole or an enormous man had slept there before and was awkward to sleep in a bed w very little springs it seemed. My shower hose did explode so luckily I was given another room right away on the fourth floor (which was better). And the valet parking seemed to have secured my rental car but when my bf asked if he could ride w the valet driver to the garage the manager wouldn't allow him to without giving us reasons. So overall ehhh it was fair, def get what u pay for Mehr
"Abigail hotel in San Francisco -Ideal for visting"
very impressed by location , service , and confort of our stay in San Francisco.we will be back to enjoy another stay at Abigail hotel
"Abigail Hotel SF"
Windows stuck open. Heater didn't work. Breaker kept tripping. 45 minutes to get car. No in room phone. All bad. Stay away.
"Not as bad as the other reviews said"
After reading the other reviews, I was very concerned about taking my girlfriend for a three-night stay at this hotel. Chosen for the convenient location (one block away from the Bill Graham Civic where we would be seeing some concerts) and the low rates, I was nevertheless very concerned about descriptions of a filthy, vermin-infested fleabag. Thankfully, […] the Abigail was not like that. Yes, the out-of-order lift made for a tiresome trudge up three steep flights of stairs to the fourth floor every night after dancing our rear ends off. And the thoughtfully-provided electric heater kept blowing out the electricity to half the room. But the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the concierge was friendly, and overall, we were happy with our choice to stay at the Abigail. Mehr
"The Abigail Hotel in San Francisco - not a joy"
This hotel is run down to the point that water poured out of my bathroom ceiling in the middle of the night and the staff at the front desk couldn't even find me clean towels to replace the ones I put on the floor. The rooms don't have telephones, so you have to use your cell to contact the front desk. There is no way to turn on heat in the rooms and […] there are no extra blankets in the rooms. The front desk staff looked at me like I was nuts when I asked for an extra blanket and had to take one off of a bed in a vacant room. The only good part was that they were able to move my room assignment from a higher floor to the second when I saw that their lift was broken. Overall the location is good, but the rest is not. Mehr
"Abigail Hotel in SF"
The elevator was not working requiring us to climb a steep set of approximately 25 stairs with luggage. The heat in the room was a space heater. The bathroom door would not engage and therefore would not completely close. The deadbolt did not work properly. Paint was peeling off the ceiling near the entry door. There was nothing to set our luggage on […] except the floor. Continental breakfast consisted of choice between white or wheat toast. However, the in-room snacks were comparable in price to vending machines so that was nice since there were no other food or beverage offerings available. If you're 20 something and on a very tight budget...go for it! Otherwise, I'd recommend just about anyplace else!! Mehr

"Great for the price!"
I was there for a concert across the street at the Bill Graham Civic center. It was a perfect hotel for the price. The room was fairly clean plenty of hot water and friendly staff. I did not spend very much time in this hotel, only to sleep. It's perfect if you're on a budget and you just need some place to sleep and your not be spending much time in […] there. the rooms are very small. It's not the safest neighborhood, but during the day it's no big deal. Mehr

"Decent stay"
Definitely not a posh or fancy hotel, but great for the price. Wireless cut in and out, but the showers are fantastic.
"Chillin'"
The staff were pleasant enough, but although the weather was quite pleasant in San Francisco, the room was freezing! I asked for an additional heater which they provided, but all it did was to puff cold air around the room. I didn't have the promised internet connection in my room either which was inconvenient. Even trying to warm up in the bath or […] shower was of no use at the water even on the highest temperature setting was at best juke warm. The Abigail Hotel was not an experience to be recommended. Mehr
"no heating"
San Francisco is cold during December. This hotel doesn't have heating
"Not Bad For $100 dollars an evening and two beds"
If you need a place for a couple of days in a good location and easy access to bart, bus and a cab this is the spot just make sure u ask for a space heater b/c it gets chilly in the evening. If you are a snob about specific things then this place isn't for you
"Abigail, san francisco"
Hotel condition very poor. Lobby under construction. Elevator off line. Stairs narrow and steep.Boiler out--no heat. No phone in room. Alarm clock not working. Lost power in room--circuit breaker. Also, "free" breakfast very poor, except OJ. As accomodation, mgmt. did waive valet parking fee. You should remove this hotel from your list until you conduct […] detailed inspection. Mehr
"Brrr"
No heat in room. Front desk clerk offered a tiny space heater, which didn't work.
"Was perfect"
The concierge Guy was really sweet he was from Tennessee or Alabama somewhere along those lines and he was amazing really helpful especially when we needed directions on how to get to our hotel he was very warm and inviting and made us feel like we where at home i will definitely stay here again if i need to stay in San Francisco for business
"Run away!!!"
Did not even spend the night I paid for. Dirty room, Elevator broken. Poor service response to complaints. Skip this one
"My stay at Abigail Hotel in San Fransisco"
It was obvious that the hotel was under reconstruction. The lobby had many things that still need fixing. And it was in plain sight. This was something that i didn't like because this showed that the hotel didn't care that it showed so clearly they needed reconstruction. And the breakfast was terrible. Instead of giving us the food they could have just […] said that they didn't serve breakfast. So if i knew that this hotel looked like it did, I wouldn't have chosen it. But the room was good enough. Mehr
"Great location for our purposes..."
PROS: We had tickets to an event at the Bill Graham Civic Center and it was nice to be able to just walk to and from the event.; also, coffee in the lobby in the morning was a welcome sight. CONS: No elevator service, so you have to haul your luggage up at least one very long flight of stairs. Our room was located in the front of the hotel on the third […] floor and the noise from the street was quite loud. Mehr
"Abi hotel"
the hotel is centrally located, in the end all you need is a bed and a bathroom and the hotel does the job it is quiet and the bed was comfortable, you see craked paint on the walls and doors nut that is fine with me, there is no parking but they have a valet service wich is 24 hrs and unlimited in and outs, a little expensive but you hve the iece of […] mind that your car is safe, i would defenitly stay there again Mehr
"Abigail could be good"
This could be an quaint place to stay near Asian Art Museum, symphony, etc. but all renovations need to be completed. Some are done, others sadly lacking. Check out condition first. The advertised breakfast was almost nothing...bread, coffee, juice. The elevator did not work. Still, could be good but check first.
"Abigail Hotel - Needs Major Work"
My wife and I stayed at the Abigail 3 nights. Here's a few of the pluses and minuses. Pluses - price much lower than other hotels nearby, staff was friendly, room was neat and clean Minuses - No heater in room (though staff gave us one of 2 space heaters they had for entire hotel of probably around 50 rooms)(no rooms had heat, but there were heaters […] which had the gas turned off), no telephone(could see a phone chord though), TV only gets local channels, elevator out of order (has been out for months, I think) and we were on the 3rd floor, lots of unfinished painting in and around lobby, with scaffolding by front window area not in use, almost all lights out in long corridor leading to our room - complained but nothing done for all 3 nights we were there, terrible neighborhood because of thousands of bums living on all nearby streets, no security guards, hardly anything for continental breakfast (mostly stale bread, frozen orange juice, some coffee and hot chocolate - if you can find the hot water), unused rooms in lobby which look like they once were great for a restaurant and a bar but are just used for storage, leaks in the lobby which a staff member caused him to slip and now he plans to sue, nice sign outside which has power but wasn't lit up, tub in shower didn't drain at more than a trickle. Sounds dismal, doesn't it. Mehr
