Dieses Hotel liegt optimal gelegen. Der Strand von Miami Beach ist in max. Gehminuten zu erreichen, genauso wie der beruehmte Ocean Drive, in dem das Leben regiert, Tagsueber wie auch Nachts. Rund um das Hotel befinden sich ebenfalls eine Vielzahl an Geschaeften, in denen man entweder Lebensmittel oder auch Klamotten, etc. kaufen kann. Das Hotel selber […] ist zwar nicht das Groesste, aber absolut gepflegt, sauber und die Leute an der Rezeption waren zu jeder Zeit sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das einzige was mir persoenlich gefehlt hat war ein Kuehlschrank auf dem Zimmer, was ich jedoch fuer unseren recht kurzen Aufenthalt durchaus verkraften konnte. Mehr

Das Hotel Astor ist empfehlenswert für alle, die nachts ruhig schlafen wollen und trotzdem nah genug am South Beach Trubel sein möchten. Die Zimmer sind sauber und geräumig, die Betten gemütlich und der Hotelservice sehr zuvorkommend! Ein roter Teppich auf der Treppe macht zwar kein Luxushotel draus, aber das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt. Wir waren im Juni 2011 dort und waren sehr zufrieden mit der Unterkunft. Alles Nötige war da und trotz täglich wechselnder Rezeption, alle freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Astor-Hotel liegt ist recht gut gelegen, egal was man gern möchte, ob Strand, Shopping oder Party, man erreicht alles zu Fuß ein Paar Querstraßen weiter. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis […] stimmt somit und wenn man also nicht auf großartigen Luxus eingestellt ist und man nur ein bequemes Bett sucht um am nächsten Tag wieder fit zu sein um Miami und Umgebung zu erkunden, der liegt mit der Hotelwahl nicht all zu schlecht. unfreundliches Personal löchrige Wände sehr hellhörige Wände kostenloses Frühstück ist eine Lüge (sei seit November geändert worden, steht aber immer noch auf der Homepage) Das kostenpflichtige Frühstück in Plastkbechern, nur eine Sorte Toastbrot, das schon um 08:00 Uhr alle ist, Muffins ebenfalls. verstopftes Becken im Zimmer wurde nach mehreren Tagen […] endlich einigermaßen repariert. Zimmer wurde mehrmals erst gegen 21.00 Uhr abends sauber gemacht kostenloses Shuttle-Service, mit dem Werbung gemacht wird, gibt es auch nicht rund um die Uhr und nicht jeden Tag!!!!!! Mehr

Nur zwei Querstrassen vom Strand entfernt und daher am Abend auch kein Partylärm. Nachteil, die Zimmer sind ringhörig zum Gang und die Türen fallen laut zu, beim Bezug der Zimmer sind diese wie ein Kühlschrank runtergekühlt dies lässt sich jedoch beheben.

Obwohl auf der bestätigung stand das das hotel über einen fitnessraum verfügt war weit und breit keins vorhanden

Faulty install of air conditioning unit made noise all night long. Was kept awake by party goers slamming doors and yelling until early morning. Would not stay again

The location was perfect - once I parked the car I never used it because I could walk everywhere! It is a vintage hotel with vintage charm, but it could use some updates, mainly in the bathroom with old fixtures and pipes (e.g. the hot water in the tub turned on randomly in the middle of the night, but the following day I had only luke-warm water with […] which to shower). The restaurant was not open for business, which was also a disappointment. A quaint place, the price was good, but not 4-star quality overall. Mehr

We were extremely disappointed with the Astor. There were so many quality problems: 1) The key machine was broken. So everyone had to ask a clerk to open the door to the room and there were no virtually no security checks to get into any room. 2) There was no hot water; so, only freezing cold showers were available. 3) The telephone in the room did […] not work at all. We had to walk down to the front desk to speak to the hotel clerks. 4) The room was not cleaned when we returned at 4pm. We had to request that the room be cleaned. 5) I asked to speak to the manager and was told twice that he is unavailable during the weekend and will be back Monday, when we were checking out. Eventually, the manager apologized and gave us a refund for one of the nights. With high expectations as this hotel was listed at 3 1/2 stars, I would rate this as 2 star as it had few amenities, very high prices, and poor quality. Skip the Astor. Mehr

We had booked a room with two double beds, being a family of two adults and two kids. However, when we arrived we were told that no such room was available. The receptionist agreed to let us have a 'suite' with one double bed and a sofa bed for the kids. This was fine but not ideal, as the sofa bed wasn't really big enough for two people. We also had […] to put up with the bathroom water pipes whining every five minutes. I found no information about wifi use in the hotel so enquired at reception. I was given a password but it didn't work for any of the networks in our room. It turned out that we could only use our wifi while in the lobby. The reason given by a second receptionist was that they were having problems with the routers. The location of the hotel is in a really seedy part of Washington Avenue. When my kids and I went for an early evening walk along this road we passed numerous youths shouting out expletives, sex shops, which my youngest son tried to enter because he saw some DVDs and thought he might be able to buy aThomas the Tankengine one. Cars pulled up shouting out at female passers by - all in all, it was no place to be with your kids. We hardly slept at night because of all the party goers passing by at 3 and 4 in the morning. It left a really disappointing feeling about Miami for my wife and I, which was a shame because we'd really been looking forward to going. I'd also like to warn other travellers NOT to order any seafood platters which are recommended to you at nearby restaurants in Oceans Drive. We were stung for $150 for one platter! However, this does not reflect in any way upon the hotel's restaurant, in which we had really good food and service at a reasonable price. Mehr

We stayed 3 nights in Astor. The hotel was clean and quiet, location was excellent and staff friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Screaming people all night, Banging doors, Bed hard and sagging, headboard slants forward not comfortable to sit up for tv watching. Told manager and all he did was give us $19.00 back on bill!! We almost left at 2:00 in morning.

bed sheets had blood on them! gross!! no hot water! no internet access! no customer service! no one will call me back! will i ever stay again, NO!

After travelling eleven hours with flight delays and a long cab ride we finally arrived at the Astor. We had seven pieces of luggage, and no luggage carts are provided let alone help with bags to the room. We were on the first floor, so no elevator was needed. HOWEVER we soon discovered we had to lug each bag up two sets of stairs. When you pay for […] s suite, you would think you could get some help. Apparently not. It was not at all what we had hoped. BTW, Our room didnt even have a room number on it so we were totally confused and turned around, had to go back to the check in desk for directions again. We opened the door and the first 'separate' room had a couch, long counter with a sink and the air conditioning unit which is one of those ones you connect to the window. It couldn't be moved, and was not in the part of the 'suite' where the bed is. Bathroom terribly small with a really weird corner shower. My husband barely fit inside. The sink faucet was wiggling loose, and areas of the ceiling throughout had patchwork needing repair. The light about the sink was out, so made it very difficult to put in contact lenses and apply mascara, but I digress. The bed was somewhat comfortable, a small television, an armoire that had a closet mirror but no lighting if you wanted to use that as an extra are to get ready. Super inconvenient. The weirdest thing of all is there was NO PHONE in the room. If you want to pay an extra 2.50 per night they will bring you one... ??? Woke up to construction noise on the balcony directly across the alley outside our window. The second morning we were awakened by an incessantly squawking quarreling flock of little green wild parrots. We did not like the fact that air conditioning 'unit' was not in the main sleeping area. Who is gonna hang out on the couch in the small adjacent room when the comfort and tv are around the corner. Andres at the front desk made our stay top notch. As usual, its the little things that count - The Astor staff was great. Hotel was simple and clean. Very good value. Central location to fun spots, eateries, shopping, beach. Really, really fun time. Will be going back.

The hotel was NOT up to previous standards. Specifically re-booked this hotel because of the service, clean and comfortable rooms, friendliness of the staff, and amenities provided. The staff is still friendly, and the hotel is scrupulously clean, but those are the nicest things I can say. Hotel is under renovation, but with no notice of that on website […] or anywhere until you checked in. Lighting in the room was limited to one overhead and bathroom lights. Air conditioning was unreliable and noisy. No coffee pot and only one electrical outlet in the room - and it didn't work. Check-in time is ridiculously late - 4pm? Mehr

the hotel was in various states of being remodeled, no bar or pool was available. the air conditioning did not work in the first room that we were given. members of our party had to go stay at a different hotel because this hotel did not have enough rooms. the staff was very friendly and helpful.

I first stayed here ten years ago, after a great renovation that turned this into a destination hotel. And stayed several times since, extending business trips in corporate hotels in Greater Miami into personal stays. here It was beautiful back then, but the current renovation is actually diminishing the property's appeal. The renovation ten years ago […] was really chic and high style...The current renovation is a total third world non-designer attempt at trendy style. It is obvious there was no designer retained. My "so-called suite" had pergo floors, white laminate counters, fiberglass shower, and a free-standing AC in the corner...This is nothing like the design that was there the last time this place was renovated. I will definately not stay there again. Seems they are giving a cheap product that is relying on the success of their predecessors who had much butter design sense. A very cheap space wirth some over-the-top trendy furniture in it. Mehr

We were surprised at the amazing room which was given to us. Totally contemporary, bright and large with two King size beds. The bathroom was large and all updated. The most comfortable beds, spacious ample storage, and a super staff. Will definitely come back to this hotel anytime. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone. I have never had such a bad experience at a hotel. At 4am the first night of my stay, the ceilign started leaking. This is not the first time it has happened since the wooden floor was so soft in that area. Maintenance came up and sucked the woter out of the ceiling in the area of the air conditioner and that was it. At midnight the next night, the […] same thing happened. We were finally moved to another room at the convenience of the hotel. We were told to bring our stuff to the room and it would be ready shortly. Housekeeping was finsihing up cleaning when we arrived. We placed our bags in the room when a lady, that looked to be management of some sort, came and told us we had to leave because we couldnt be there when housekeeping was in the room. We convinced her to let us keep our stuff in the room and we left. When we returned to the room, one bed was blocked up with a piece of wood and phone books, the curtain covering the window in the shower had black mold all over the back of it and the toilet woudl not stop running. The first night when we arrived at the hotel, we waited for valet to take the car for just over 30 minutes. Finally the lady at the desk took our keys and said she woudl take care of it. Two out of the three times we requested our car during our stay, it took them 22 minutes and 19 minutes to bring the car. The third time it took them 13 minutes and the car was sitting on the side of the road just down the street in front of a restaurant that we had just had lunch at. The hotel has offered nothing to make this right. Mehr

Stayed in South Beach after a business conference. Astor was a great value - just a block off Collins and two off Ocean. Walkable to great restaurants and clubs. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, but don't expect a great view. No bar or restaurant at the hotel, but with everything so close it was not a big deal. Hotel has free shuttle to the air […] port. I'll make it short and sweet. Great location, staff was very friendly, room was spotless and nicely decorated. Anytime we plan on going back to South Beach we will be staying at Hotel Astor. Also check out the Crazy Mexican Taco Bar just up the street on Washington Ave. They are open late with awesome taco's and $2.50 domestic bottle. We stayed here for a marathon...the staff was extremely friendly, the location was great. Our room was large and bed was comfortable. Definitely would stay here again.

I work in the south beach area and recently had to stay in south beach for an upcoming photo shoot. Hotel Astor's lobby was very inviting and check in was smooth. My room was quaint and comfortable. It even had a Sony mini stereo which i enjoyed when I went to take a bath in the very deco-like tub. The bed was extremely comfortable and i was able to […] sleep soundly without any outside interferences from equipment or other guests. I would recommend this hotel to those that are looking for a convenient location in the heart of SOBE! The only negative was their was only Valet parking at 28 dollars a pop was a little high. I parked my vehicle two blocks away in a garage and saved $11 dollars. Mehr

Linoleum covered hallways, bedroom doors that slam every time someone enters or leaves a room (and, let's face it, people are not considerate or thoughtful) and a staff that shouts at each other and adds to the early-morning chaos is not a combination for a quiet weekend in Miami. Whereas the location is excellent, lighting in the bedrooms is not conducive […] to reading except by sitting on the edge of one side of the bed under a halogen pot light. I will add that on the Sunday morning of my stay it was cloudy and cool and staying in bed and reading quietly was a wonderful option, completely spoiled by the noise. Mehr

The first room we were put in had no AC and a broken TV. We were then moved to a second room that couldn't access the internet (which we were required to pay $15/day for), no hot water for the 2 days we were there, and no water pressure from the sink. We had the manager come to our room several times to show him that there was no hot water and he kept […] saying "it's fine sir". Then after arguing with him for a while he said they were having problems with the boiler and they had to reset it. Every time I went to the front desk there was another guest complaining about the water. I reported them to the Public Health Commission. The hotel would only take $20 off our bill and Hotels.com would do nothing for us either. I would never stay at Hotel Astor even if you paid me. Mehr

this hotel was great at one time, apparently. there are few staff, and the man in the lobby seemed slow and unfocused in dealing with us at check-in. it's a good value, and the room we had was huge and comfortable, but that's about it - no restaurant, no bar (like the hotel next door), no "life"...was a bit strange to be there. Washington Street itself is filled with tatoo parlors and peep shows if that is what you are interested in. Collins Ave is one street up and Ocean Blvd. is two streets up. Once you get to Collins Ave. the neighborhood changes for the better. The hotel lobby looks fantastic at night with the lighting but during the day you can see the wear and tear at […] the hotel. We found the room to be very noisey, doors slam at all hours of the night and echo throughout the hallway and our room. The staff was so-so at best. if you stay at this hotel travel a few blocks towards the ocean for the best entertainment.

We spent 8 nights at the Hotel Astor in Miami Beach. The area is great and the the hotel is near the major attarctions pof South Beach. Unfortunately the hotel bares little resemblance to the web site. There was no restaurant or bar , there was no pool or fitness centre. The rooms are sparce , but the beds are very comfortabloe and the frooms are clean […] .There is a daily resort fee of $15 + tax which is added to your bill and is unavoidable and doesn't really cover anything . Our overall stay @ The Astor was just OK. The staff at the desk during the day & the maintenance/cleaning staff were all very nice & helpful. The evening desk clerk however(female, blonde) was definitely not the friendliest person. That said, our room was as described on Hotels.com, very spacious, large bathroom, plenty of storage for our 2 day stay, […] & was clean. There were many downsides though... no wi-fi in the room, front desk clerk said it would be repaired the next day, 2 days later still not working. The phone in the room was dead as well, we told the staff & nothing was done. The air conditioner was running, quite loudly, the entire stay yet it never went below 76 degrees. Thank goodness it was January so they outside temps werent so bad that we were roasting. The pool & restaurant are both still closed, disappointing, but they did not charge us the "resort fee" upon check-out which was good. I would recommend this property if youre not too concerned with wi-fi, on-site pool, or any other amenities. The location is great & theres ample self-parking around the property. Mehr

No smoke detectors, phone, deadbolt, or even room number on the room. Had to place coffee maker on the floor to get it to an accessible wall outlet. Couldn't close one of the windows at street level . Upon check-in, valet spent half an hour trying to dissuade me from using public parking (by trying to tell me wrongly that I couldn't park where I had parked) […] and to use valet services instead. Luggage left with the hotel was left in the lobby and tags where not checked upon retrieval (by different front desk crew). Glad someone else didn't claim our luggage. Couldn't get a second key for the room -- only one key available. The door was so loose if someone wanted, they could have just kicked it in (no deadbolt or extra lock). Didn't feel safe at all with window open to Washington Street, no smoke detector, and that door. By the way, no early check-in available even though hotel was half empty. Wake up call was maid knocking on door. Worst hotel experience I've ever had. Period. Mehr

Hotel was really small and noisy . All furniture old and bathroom dirty and inconvenient. It looks great on hotel website but in real world it's not. They charge me extra 12 doll pool fee which was not include into hotel price. They don't have pool and using next hotel pool. No parking. Very noisy. Not recommended.

The car vallet was so slow (25min!) getting my car at check out that I missed my fligth!!! Besides that my experience at the Astor Hotel was very positive and I recommend staying there.

We stayd here for 2 nights, It is close to everything that you want to see in Miami Beach. The room is big There are no beakfast or no free parking, but you can park nere the hotel. Its close to night clubs on Washington Ave!!

The hotel was located in a very convenient spot. It was surrounding by stores, restaurants, etc all in walking distance. The hotel has an art deco feel and you can tell that it was recently renovated. We still smelled fresh paint in our room! The hotel restuarant was not open at the time of our stay, but we saw the design and it looks absolutely fabulous! […] The hotel was worth the one night stay for us. Will return in the future. Mehr

Very pleasant stay, only unfortunate part was the bar, restaurant and pool where all under renovation and going through a change. This changes the environment a lot in the hotel. I recommend checking that these are back open before you stay.
