We were in for a night and the staff was very accommodating. Room was clean and complimentary food was great. A little tight on the parking though.

This place was an absolute blast. It would be great for a group, as it has a comfortable group feel to it by the way the rooms are arranged (a bit like a grownup dormitory). It also was clean and a very comfortable room. I was so pleased. I didn't want to leave. Then they offer an evening hour and breakfast. Very nice.

Best part was that we could walk to Aspen downtown restaurants and also the bus service to all ski locations. Hotel and service was good.

Easy, cheap, convenient. All we wanted for 7 people. Great that breakfast was included. Good for a cheap-ish Aspen trip.

Overall our experience with the hotel was good. The only thing that we did not like was the noise. Our room was close to the stairs and there was constant noise of people stepping hard on the stairs at all hours during the night, which made it difficult to stay asleep.

My husband and our two children stayed at the Aspen Mountain Lodge in December and had a wonderful stay. Their friendly staff are as warm and inviting as the beautiful fireplace set in the middle of the hotel. The breakfast and apres-ski were delicious! Good location, right in the downtown area. Room is clean and well maintained, free wifi is good.

I've stayed here before and keep returning - the location is great, the breakfast is decent and the place is well maintained. The Aspen Mountain Lodge is one of the least expensive places in Aspen to stay. The lower level rooms don't have a view, but for a place to stay right in Aspen, this is a good choice.

We found our room to be excellent. The continental breakfast offered a very large variety of items to choose from in a comfortable and pleasant room. Certainly would stay here again.

... and in this case that's not much. As a bargain accomodation, AML is OK. Location a few blocks from central, but OK. Beds are very small, not reallywide enough for two adults. Housekeeping and cleanliness were fine. Property maintenance lacking. Service is absolute minumum. Example: breakfast is served from 730am. Five guests were sitting in dining […] area, waiting. At exactly 730, one of them folds his newspaper, stands up, goes in the back to bring out the food. He had been sitting there with us, watching the clock, determined not to work one second longer than required. Mehr

The staff was nice, not overly friendly, the room was large and clean. We had a room with 2 queen sized beds. The room was directly off the breakfast room but we didn't hear the breakfast crowd. The hotel is a true 70's mountain ski hotel, with big dark beams and ski pictures. Was a nice place to spend the night after the Aspen Jazz Fest.

The hotel was very nice, easily located along main street and close to the central downtown Aspen. Staff was extremely polite and knowledgable of area and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again if return to Aspen.

For those who desire Aspen and are on a tight budget, this is a good choice. The rooms are dated and the mattress old and soft, but the location is convenient and puts the heart of downtown in walking range. If you go with the least expensive rooms you will be downstairs, adjacent and opening up to the shared living area and breakfast space. THE ROOM WAS NOT WHAT I BOOKED AND HAD TO COMPLAIN FOR 10 MINUTES UPON CHECKIN. NO ELEVATOR TO THE 4TH FLOOR. MY OVERALL STAY WAS VERY UNPLEASANT.

This was kind of a "bargain hotel". The owner/manager was most accommodating and did everything to make things run smoothly. We were a little surprised that our "garden room" was actually more subterranean and the high windows looked out on the parking lot. I guess you get what you pay for... We wanted to stay within walking distance of downtown Aspen. Though still not cheap, Aspen Mountain Lodge came in significantly less expensive than most of its competition. Pros: - The hotel is very clean and tidy. - The staff was pleasant and helpful. Cons: - Each room has an in-wall air conditioner - ours kicked […] on and off throughout the night, and sounded like a motor home generator. - The bathroom was very dated (circa 1980-ish). - The iPod docking station crackled to the point we didn't use it. This hotel is centrally located, rooms are comfortable and the breakfast was substantial. It's a no frills place but perfect if you need a low-key spot in the heart of Aspen!

This small hotel was very nice, well appointed, free breakfast and air conditioned rooms which is not often the case in these Colorado mountain hotels. It is easy walking distance to the Aspen center mall.

The hotel had a friendly atmosphere and good sized room. Ours had a nice balcony. Only a short walk to the restaurant area in Aspen.

This hotel was very nice located to less than four block from downtown Aspen. The room was nice and clean, and the staff were friendly and informative. the continental breakfast was a plus, since it saved us a great deal of time in the morning. Less than a mile from central part of Aspen, bus stop right across the street, rec trail nearby, dog friendly, OK self-service breakfast, and friendly staff. Hot tub outside was a bit dirty and pool (small & heated) had lots of dirt & debris in it.

The breakfast was top notch and apres ski is offered but we did not partake. The bedding was soft and fresh with down comforters and nice pillows. For the price this is one of the tidiest places we have stayed in Aspen.

Decent enough place, but parking/unloading was a bit of a hassle, as their tiny lot fills up super fast. The room was nice enough, but the bed was not comfortable. Also, we were on the bottom floor (basement) and we could hear every little footstep in the room above us all night. We would probably try a different place in Aspen next time we go.

If you are in Aspen and only need a place to sleep as you will be out and about all day, then this is it. Cheap, clean and only a few blocks to downtown Aspen. On the main road so easy to find. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A continental breakfast is provided for free and it's a little better than one might expect, but pretty basic, bagels, […] toast, fruit and cereal etc... Mehr

Also close to the Jazz Festival (9 blocks away). Our tv was messed up. According to the front desk they had just changed service providers. We couldn't get the tv to stay on. The toiletries and freebies they provide in the room are excellent for us bike riders that don't carrying much on their bikes.
