Paradise Plaza Inn - Ocean City

The hotel staff was great, the room was nice and big. However, the bedside lamps did not work and the switch was disconnected which was possible hazzard. Unfortunately, the one morning we were there (was an overnight stay only) we were awakend by a mail outside our open balcany door (and curtains open) who was power washing the balcony. This was at […] 6am. Had we known this was going to happen we would have closed the curtains when we went to bed. Apparently this happens only annual and we had the misfortune of it happing the one night we stayed. Bad karma dude. Mehr

I arrived with my sister and my two nephews (3 and 5 years old) late in the evening. The first room they put us in was a smoking room. (Note: the 5th floor is a smoking floor!) The room smelled musty and there were cigaratte burns throughout the carpet. Later that evening, the people next door had a party which caused not only a lot of noise, but also […] caused smoke to fill our room, (the two rooms were connected by a door). We called the hotel lobby at 1 AM (no change in noise level of smoke). We opened up the screen door to the patio, but there were several people smoking on the adjoining patio, so we called the lobby again at 2 AM. We finally got a new room around 2:15 AM. Our next room smelled a lot better and was great, until the day we left. There was no hot water. So, we had to take cold showers that morning. Based on our own experiences, we will not return to this hotel again. Mehr

We've been going to Ocean City for thirty years, and have stayed ina variety of hotels. We were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The halls were freshly painted, as was our room. right on the board walk. Sunsations gift shoppe is attached, staff is nice, jacuzzi tub in our room, the PATIOS are huge on the side-view rooms. We're going back!

This hotel is awesome, and right on the beach. Our room has a balcony overlooking the beach. My only complaint is the restaurant in the hotel is only a bar that serves burgers. But there are tons of other restaurants a short walk on the board walk.

Stayed at Paradise Plaza hotel in Ocean City Maryland 4/10/2012 and perhaps due to off season most restaurants, bars and eateries closed. Front desk people not very friendly. Just put up with customers. Probably would pick another hotel next visit.

When we first checked in, we went to our room and saw that there was a bag and hat in the room and it seemed as if someone had recently took a shower in the room. We immediately went back to the front desk, notified them and with NO problem, they upgraded us to an ocean view room. This hotel is situated in the best location possible, our balcony view was breathtaking, the view was truly awesome, the hotel itself was dated with cosmetic flaws such as chips in the floor tiles, etc. it was well cleaned & maintained but DEFINATELY dated. The hotel staff was very pleasant to deal with as was the hotel manager. Friendly people w/ friendly […] service. That being said .... The hotel was full of thugs to such an extreme that we didnt feel safe, we even bolted our doors with the extra chairs sitting in the room. Big groups were hanging out in the hallways near our rooms and in the parking lot, gawking at me & my daughter. I won't go back bc I didn't feel safe even with my large husband and teenage son being with us. I'll pay extra to stay in a classier hotel, too bad bc the view is amazing & the staff had the temperament u'd like to see in nicer hotels. Mehr

Very disappointed in this hotel. Great location, right in the heart of the boardwalk, convenient to everything. Great oceanfront. Bathroom & kitchenette were clean, however, the tables, chairs, dresser, TV didn't look as if they had been dusted since last season! Part of the bedframe stuck out about 4 inches from the rest of the frame which caused a […] very painful ankle for me. Maid service was awful, left our garbage bags tied up on our floor. Maid must have had something on her shoe that tracked from the door throughout the hall, bath & kitchen. Didn't replenish anything, left wet washcloths in tub. Did show Tim, the manager, all the problems before we checked out & he assured me things would improve. Furniture had cigarette burns & sofa was thread bare in places. Coffee table in our friend's room had 4 legs so loose & wiggly, if you put anything on it, it would certainly collapse. Such a shame this hotel is so rundown as it is a great location! I liked the hotel very much, except for the horrible smell like cigarettes inside the room and specially on the hallway it was really strong! I also didn't like the bed and pillows they were extreanly uncomfortable. So i was sleep deprived the whole time. The heater/fan makes a horrible noise too!

The Customer Service was great, Mr.Tim was one of the individuals at the front desk and he was really nice. Ocean front room had an excellent view, however the room could really use some updating!!! The bed look really cheap, however the sleep was not that bad. Heating/AC unit is rather loud. located near the outlets in delware, where you can't go wrong […] with 4 different outlets.. If you just want a place to sleep and no luxury with being on the ocean front this is the place to be. Mehr

The staff was so very friendly and helpful. We needed another night and they recommended us to a lovely hotel not far from where we were staying. (as they were not open the night we needed) Hotel itself could use some updates. Minimal water pressure, mold in the bathroom, ceiling tiles in hallway out of place. For one night, it was fine.

We've stayed at the Paradise Plaza three or four times off-season for the last ten years. Its best-selling feature is being on the boardwalk. While it is clean and neat, has courteous staff, it is badly in need of updating the room carpet and furnishings, and replacing worn mattresses. However, the price would then have to go up! There are only a few […] places open at this time of year, so if you want to be where the action is, this is as good as it gets. Mehr

Hotel Staff was very pleasant, the room was neat and clean, the location is assessable to the boardwalk.

It's odd request but how about a $299 tv instead of a $2.99 unit!

Stayed mid-Oct. Rates were great. Had a ocean-front room and LOVED it! We plan on making the trip every year during this time. Had 75 degree days and had the beach mostly to ourselves. Nice bar on premises good selection of ales. Very clean and comfortable.

The hotel is at a vey convenient location. We had a oceanfront room at the top (8th floor) that gave us a perfect view of beach and ocean. The room is clean and large enough for a family vacation. The only shortcoming is the restaurant of which the service is not professional let alone food.

This is quite a little gem! The service is fantastic - everyone on the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Gi-Gi was as wonderful as everyone wrote about her! Our room was on the 7th floor on the side. Great view of the boardwalk and the bay! The boardwalk was right out the front door, and the beach just steps beyond that. The public bathhouse was […] right there, so we could wash off our sandy feet before going back to the hotel room. Parking is right at the hotel, with an overflow lot right across the street. You never need to leave due to the fact everything is within walking distance! Mehr

Stayed there week of 8/6/11. Stayed on the 7th floor. View was fantastic. Being right on the boardwalk was perfect. The rooms have nice size decks on them. The staff were very nice to deal with and professional. You are right on the boardwalk on 9th street. If you are on the beach, the OC bathrooms are right there. Very convenient. Within a block you […] have Thrashers French Fries, DQ/ Orange Julius, Arcade, Sunsations, Arctic ***, Milano Pizzeria, etc. Very convenient to a lot of things. The only down thing about this hotel was the pool. The pool is off the parking lot and is small. Plus it is only 3 feet to 4 feet in the middle to 3 feet on the end. Kiddy pool at best. If the pool was great, this place would be totally all around fantastic. Pool was the only downer. I would still stay again. it was fun. Mehr

The location is the very best thing about this hotel. We stayed on 7th floor which gave of a great view. The folks in the room smoked, and the smell of smoke was always in the air. The lobby ceiling fell in during our visit. Parking is scarce. There are NO utensils of any kind in the kitchenette. Yelling to 4am each morning. We went with 3 kids and had plenty of room. The ONLY thing I had a problem with was that the pillows were so flat and had no support, the mattresses need to be updated especial in the pull out couch. The pull out had a very old thin matresses and the bars stuck through making it very uncomfortabel. We were on the 2nd floor ocean side and loved it. You could see the ocean and the boardwalk crowds but yet had privacy. Even with a lot of people walking around outside, with the balcony door closed and the a/c on, you couldn't hear a thing from outside. No problem sleeping! The front desk people, especially Stephanie, were very friendly and helpful. […] The servers in the restaurant, that is part of the hotel, were also very friendly. We had a very nice Irish girl serve us and she was very helpful in suggesting places to visit while in town. The food was great and because it was connected with the hotel, it was very convenient. The only down side to the restaurant was they sometimes close for private parties at night. So you should call ahead to make sure they are open when you want to go for dinner. The rooms were clean enough, not perfect, but the building is older so that is to be expected. There certainly was enough space for my family of three! There is a pool in the back if you want and there is parking. When we got there the lot was full but the overflow lot is only about a block away. We were able to move into the main lot the next day. We had a wonderful stay at the Paradise Plaza Inn. We recommend this location & there is a lot to do in within walking distance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Paradise Plaza Inn and would definitely stay there again. The location is great and the price is good. The rooms are large and comfortable with nice amenities. The staff is very nice and helpful.

I was surprised to see how clean and friendly this hotel was. The employees were so nice and friendly. We got there before check in, I had to wait about 1/2 hour. No big deal because they gave me a parking pass so we could enjoy the beach or boardwalk. Overall a great experience. Going back next summer!

If you are looking for a party and enjoy staying up all night, this is the spot for you. We checked in and upon entering the room, we noticed that there was a musty smell to it. We opened the sliding doors to our "private" balcony only to find that the door handle was rusty and did not lock at all. Once outside, the view was great but the 5+ young "men" […] upstairs ruined it by shouting profanities to almost every person on the boardwalk that walked by. Along with the shouting during the day, they continued well into the a.m hours. We slept with the very loud air conditioner on every night and could still hear them. The folks upstairs from us must of had tiled floors in their room b/c it sounded like they were either bowling or re-arranging the furniture all night long. Everytime someone closed the door of their room, our door rattled like someone was breaking in...which they could have done with ease through the balcony door. For the price, we were very disappointed with this hotel. The only plus was the proximity to the beach, which was beautiful. Mehr

We stayed here for 3 nights. We were very pleased to see we had a sofa bed in our room. We called down for a set of sheets and they had them in our room in a matter of minutes. Our first full day there our room was not cleaned. We ran in to the maid late afternoon on our way out to dinner and told her we would be out of our room for several hours and […] that it had not been cleaned. She seems very put off by our comment. Upon returning a few hours later the room was still not cleaned. We called the front desk and they had the night housekeeping staff come up with in minutes. We just had them clean the bathroom as it was 10 p.m. and we needed to get our kids to bed. We were told in order to get our room cleaned the next day we need to put a sign on our door. I thought hotels cleaned daily with or with out your resquesting it. The bed we slept in was very uncomfortable. Our kids slept great in their bed and the sofa bed. Overall the hotel was clean, and very quiet. Mehr

Check-in was easy and our room was ready early! The room was clean and spacious. Beachfront with balcony...great views. Staff was friendly and nice. Very convenient, directly on boardwalk, couldn't beat the location. Easy access to beach. Had a great time! Would recommend it to friends.

Good hotel for the price. Clean and staff friendly. States .8 miles from boardwalk but you are pretty much right on it. Only disappointment was that hotels.com said the room had oceanview. I asked again to verify it was ocean view and they said that it was partial open view. I asked if that means you can see the ocean from our room and they said yes. […] You could not. You had to walk out on balcany and lean over to get ocean view. I thought it was definitely misleading. Mehr

Very nice, much better then expected. Will stay there when I can. Right on the boardwalk, clean, friendly and useful staff - all one can ask for.

overall the room was good, they do noy have enough parking at the hotel, so we had to drop off the bags and take the car about a block away, from hotel.

This is an older building, in our time there telephones didn't work, maintenance man did replace them, elevators stopped working when we were clecking out which was inconvenient, the staff were kind of cold natured but the location is great

The hotel was located right on the ocean. It was amazing to wake up with the ocean staring you in the face. great view! you are located midway on the boardwalk, so really not to far in either direction for a walk. all kinds of souvenier shops and restaurants in either direction. the room had a kitchenette so that was nice. we only stayed one night, […] but comes in handy if you stay longer. room was spacious enough to fit 6 people comfortably. the only thing i didn't like was the floor was tile, no carpet. when it gets wet, you can and probably will slip. This was a great value stay from Hotels.com! it was inexpensive (off season that is), the rooms were VERY spacious. For the price I paid I expected much smaller rooms. some of the duct vents were a little rusty, some cracks in the plaster, TV was old and should be upgraded to flat screens but nothing about the room was a major turn off. Lobby is VERY […] small and parking a little tight. Gift shop in loby goes right to the boardwalk. The Tiki bar restaurant was "closed until further notice" but there were a couple of local places that delivered and plenty of bars and restaurants with in walking distance. Again, not great but not bad at all. This is a price is right value stay. We would go back. Mehr

The brightes element wa the helpfulness of their staff. the location good on the broad walk and the rooms clean . I really enoyed the oceanfront room the view was unobstructed and I could even hear the waves from my bed when I left the door ajared. I have no majore complaintes.
