the location was great walking distance to several resturants and bars, hotel service poor, small rooms and worst of all I was woken up by a blaring train every hour from 2am to 5 am and street cleaners from 1am to 2am was not very happy, went to check out and the velet was no where to be found had to get my own car. Good central location to downtown Lakeland. Staff is friendly and helpful. Free Internet/Wifi is a plus. The Amtrak and CSX trains are a little loud if you're on the track side of the building. It's about a block away.

Staff was wonderful and very willing to help in all ways possible with meeting our requests. They allowed an early check in and had our pack and play for your baby ready for us. I really couldn't have been happier with the staff, location and price.

The hotel is located in the heart of Lakeland's charming downtown. Our room had a view of the lake. Hotel is not new and shows its age in some regards but the people were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed out stay/

We had an issue with our stay that's not worth mentioning at this point because the manager was kind enough to offer us a complimentary lunch in their restaurant. Too bad the waitress was new and broke glasses on us and forgot a few things....but all in all.....this is the best hotel in town. Public areas are nice. Rooms are starting to look a little rough around the edges.

A fine example of historic luxury hotel, in heart of olde lakeland fl. walked to downtown shopping, restaurants, mirror lake and ellis gardens. train passes nearby hourly, we were used to it after the first night. dining room excellent. all staff courteous and friendly.

1 night stay for business. Needed something centrally located away from I-4. Pros: Great view overlooking Mirror lake. Clean, updated looking room and amenities. Self parking in the garage across the street. Cons: the hotel is located near a train track and fire station. Both were quite loud. This was a really cool hotel. Restaurant was awesome...don't forget to try the key lime pie!!!

The Terrace Hotel is located right in the heart of downtown Lakeland. Great bars and restaurants in the area. A quick taxi ride (less than 2 miles) from Joker Marchant Stadium, home of the Detroit Tigers spring training. Staff is very accomodating and the look and feel of the hotel is very classy.

Lovely hotel - we especially enjoyed sitting on the verandah. Our room was small but well-equipped and comfortable. One suggestion would be to upgrade the fitness room.

restored old hotel in downtown Lakeland-close to Amtrak and ballpark-seemed to be catering to the local business people in dining room ,not traveler friendly-complimentary breakfast was coffee and a few stale croisants-bottled water was available in the rooms but was tagged with a sign that read if you drank it, your room would be charged a$1.00 per […] bottle, just take the bottles out of the rooms -this was incredibly tacky!! Very nice historic hotel conveniently located in downtown historic area. We enjoyed our stay at the Terrace while visiting Florida for baseball spring training. We highly recommend downtown Lakeland as a place to stay instead of chain motels.

Came to town to see the Tigers, had a great time at the came. Enjoyed our stay at the Terrace and had fun walking around downtown Lakeland

This was a great boutique hotel however there is no pool or no parks in the nearby area for kids. I would only recommend this for adults. The rooms were small but charming. However, the bathroom did not appear very clean or updated. Overall great location and charming hotel but not good for families with children.

I liked the fact it had free WiFi, the hotel was clean but our room looked a little beat up. The bathroom tile floor had cracks and the walls were chipped, not what I expected from a "luxury" hotel. There is no pool and not much to do in the hotel if you have kids with you. Our room was on the 5th floor with a view of the parking garage and the blaring […] train horns in the middle of the night kept me up. I must admit the surrounding area was very nice and pleasant. The location is fantastic, and the building is a fabulous piece of historic architecture. However, the desk reissued our room to someone else, who would have walked in on us if we hadn't set the inside lock. Also, the wood furniture in the room was cracked and scratched up, the tiles in the bathroom were all cracked. The rooms need an upgrade. Great location if going to Legoland. The room was very small, but clean with very nice linens and down comforter. The service staff was excellent. Upscale place with fine dining. Restaurant not convenient for kids, but there are plenty of options within a block or two.

I never write reviews, and I've stayed in a lot of hotels. This hotel being newly rennovated, was charming, clean, and a bit nostalgic; just a comfortable wonderful atmosphere. Everyone was helpful and professional. I loved the location, everything I needed was in the area within walking distance.

When i heard this was an old building that was renovated, I was worried that this hotel would smell and not have the style I am accustomed to. To my delight, it was lovely. I was surprised at the room size and the contemporary decor. The restaurant is delicious...highly recommend the crab cake. Negatives: thin walls and an occasional train passing through […] town. I chose to stay at The Terrace to be close to Florida Southern College (to visit my son) and to be able to walk around downtown. It was perfect for both of those objectives. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is in need of some renovation, i.e. stained and peeling wallpaper, shower doors sticking, loose faucets, etc. Also, do NOT […] be swayed by the offering of a continental breakfast! It was literally one tray of pastries, one tray of apples/oranges and an urn of coffee all offered on a very small table beside the elevators. There is valet parking and a very n$$$ce restaurant. With all of that said, I would stay here again for the proximity to Fl Southern and the downtown atmosphere. Mehr

We really enjoyed our stay. We had 3 rooms with 1 suite, which was great to gather in. Rooms were very clean and the bed were so comfortable to sleep in. The breakfast are unbelievable. Try the fruit with homemade cream -- yummy. All the meals were generous portions and seemed like home made. The location was good and the hotel employees were very […] friendly. The hotel itself is charming and the surrounding area is lovely. Our bathroom wasn't as clean as I would have liked and the coffee mugs in the room weren't exactly clean either. Don't be surprised if you wake up to the passing train blowing it's horn! We just had to laugh! Great happy hour! With all that said we will stay here again.

I like walking in the quite town. Love that business close for Sunday. Great place for down time. Love the pond with all the wildlife. Disney is not far either if I want excitement.

The only negative was a small area of wallpaper tear by the shower. It's a beautiful old hotel in a great location across from Mirror Lake and convenient to walking around downtown. There is an Amtrack station nearby, but no big problem for us.

I stayed at this hotel before and always liked it. It is the only "elegant" hotel in the small town of Lakeland. Maybe because it is a "small town mentality" they think they are more than what they are. It is unfortunate to feel uncomfortable during your stay. Not a place to relax at all, better dress with a gown to go for breakfast. Terrible mattresses […] and dirty windows combined with rude and pretentious personnel specially at the restaurant, very sad. I would only come back for the location and the quaint vintage stores in downtown. Mehr

Our stay at the Terrace Hotel was nothing but great! We were treated very elegantly by the staff and we could not have asked for anything more. The location was beautiful and we enjoyed walking abound the lake across the street....very very nice.

We rode Amtrak from Miami to Lakeland and walked to the hotel around beautiful Lake Mirror. The Terrace was immaculate, the staff was courteous and helpful, the location downtown is wonderfully convenient. We really enjoyed our stay.

I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THE ROOM SHOWN IN THE PICTURES WAS NOT THE ROOM OFFERED AT THE RATE I BOOKED AT. IT WAS A PICTURE OF A RENOVATED SUITE AND THE STANDARD ROOMS WERE NOT RENOVATED AND DID NOT LOOK THE SAME AS WHAT WAS REFLECTED AND ADVERTISED ON THE WEBSITE

While the service was great, we had to switch rooms because the water in the toilet, sink and bathtub was dark orange when it was coming out, as if the water had iron or the pipes were rusted. They moved us without a problem to another room and we did not experience any water issues that night. However, the next morning, the same thing happened-orange […] colored water pouring out from the sink and bathtub. Such a high caliber hotel should not have issues like that and should be fixed asap. I have lived in lakeland for 40 years, but wanted to try out a local well known hotel. We had a nice stay, staff were very friendly, only confusion was the handicap room request. The bathroom was not handicap appropriate, but we managed fine.

This hotel is situated right in the heart of downtown Lakeland. I lived in this city for 20 years and never realized how great the downtown area is. We had an awesome weekend and it mostly had to do with the location of the Terrace. Waking up in the morning, walking around the lake that right across the street. Walk down to Jimmy Johns and grab a sub […] for lunch, people watch out on their front patio. Then at night time you head out for a few drinks and walk back to the room. The hotel is a little bit outdated but that has to do with how old the hotel is, its a historic hotel so don't expect much more than that as far as the rooms go. They are very clean though. Service was great, free valet parking (although we didn't use it that much lol). The restaurant is amazing! Breakfast and dinner at the Terrace is a treat. Highly recommend you stay here, the downtown area is the best place to be to have fun. Mehr

I had to change rooms 3 times once I got there. The first room ~ the door to the closet came completely off when I opened it. When I called for help I was told there was no one to fix it for 3 days. Second room was on a low floor and since this is in the downtown area, I found it too loud. Next room was on the ninth floor. It seemed ok at first, but […] the day I was leaving I noticed a huge moldy stain on the ceiling in the entry hall area. Room 91. That night I began getting a cough. Two days later I had a full blown infection and had to go on very strong antibiotics to get better. All in all, this is a very old hotel that needs some upgrading and better personnel to service the guest. Mehr

We stayed at this hotel for my daughters wedding. We had a few gliches and the staff went above and beyond being courtious and helpful in making our stay a delightful one.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and had a classic feel to it. The bed was excellent. It was very nice to be able to be within walking distance of Lake Mirror and the little town area of Lakeland's Munn Park. Would highly recommend it.

This is a very quaint hotel located in downtown Lakeland overlooking Mirror Lake. It is very convienent to downtown shopping and the surrounding lakes. That said...we were very disappointed with our stay at the hotel due to the multiple problems that occurred while there. We had air conditioning problems, problems with the room safe, and on our last […] day COLD WATER. Now, the STAFF is to be commended for their handling of these problems and there graciousness. But for the PRICE we paid we could should not have had these types of problems. We had planned on using this hotel at LEAST 3 more times but will look at other options. Mehr

This is a great hotel in downtown Lakeland. Just know it is not a modern hotel chain, but a classic that has been updated and maintained nicely. Rooms are small and walls a bit thin, but the level of service is unmatched. The staff will bend over backwards to accomodate you and truly make you fell like a valued guest.
