I stay at this place twice a year and I am always satisfied. The rooms are clean and nice, the staff is always nice and helpful, and the location is perfect. The little kitchen is handy too. I will stay here twice this coming year too. No reason to change!!

The room was clean except for the carpet so we put sheets down from the other bed to be able to walk on the floors. The air was stagnent and there was a terrible stench of cigarette smoke. We had wanted a non smoking room. Only soap, towels, and coffee were provided. The very basics. The towels were clean. It is right across from Worlds of Fun if thats […] what one is looking for. I went to Kc booked this hotel and it is terrible I reserved a non -smoking room and got a smoking one that they had left as soon as I walked in it was terrible alot of garbage in the stairs and the room was dirty the air did not work horrible called hotels.com and went somewhere else not a good place to go if you have kids.

I have to say that this is one of the hardest beds I have ever slept (what little I got) on. I think Fred Flintstone had a more comfortable stone bed than Crossland did. But that was not the worst part. Immediately upon check in, my kids spotted a bug scurrying across the bathroom floor. I killed it and no other bugs were spotted. And the general […] condition of our room at least was poor at best. The carpets were stained and dirty. I already mentioned the bug, and the toilet paper holder was ready to fully detach from the wall. While the room did have a kitchenette, there was no way I was going to use any of the supplied pots, pans, dishes, or glasses. And be prepared for long term guests and residents that like to hang around the parking lot during the day and into the evening. The only 2 good things about the hotel was that it was extremely close to our destination and the clerk that checked us in was very friendly. Mehr

This is a residence type rental. Arrived at midnight. Checked in and went to locate room. There were people in lawn chairs out front of the room, obviously having a relaxing time with friends. There were catcalls, whistles and general harassment. Traveling with 3 children alone, single 30 year old woman, I was frightened. We were in our room only a […] few minutes when the neighbor knocked on the door to tell us to "quiet down". We were getting ready for bed. We needed a room with a bed and that's what we got! Its a no-frills hotel. No soap, shampoo, crappy cable TV, hard bed, but it got us through the night.

If you are going to Worlds/Oceans of Fun, then the location is a great place. However, we had asked for non smoking rooms as we do not smoke and have a daughter with a trache. 1 room the smoke scent was terrible, so heavy. When we called the hotel to address our concerns they said non smoking rooms is based on availability, even though we had our resevation […] 2 wks in advance. They said they can't guarantee non smoking rooms because they are an extended stay hotel. Our rooms were not together or even close to each other. So we had our 19 yr old with his younger siblings at one end of the hotel and my husband, myself and daughter at the other end. We also found a bug on the floor, which I understand may happen. However, finding a bug in my daughters bed, very unacceptable. Again, when we addressed our concerns with the hotel manager, she stated they get water bugs from time to time. Stains in carpets, cigarette burns in bedspreads of no-smoking room. NO SOAP IN ROOMS. Vehicle broken into at night.

The hotel was nice but for the price I paid and the room that it was, there was no complementary soap or shampoo. i have gotten that from lesser hotels.

This was a terrible hotel experience. The room was smelly, a terrible odor. No soap for the shower. The carpet was filthy. Whenever the next room flushed the toilet or turned on the water it sounded like the pipes were coming through the walls. I will never stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

This hotel was clean but there were no pots or pans, nothing at all. There were also bugs 2 in the bathroom sink and one in our bed - this made for a very unpleasant stay. However, it was close to worlds and oceans of fun. There is a waffle house and wendys right next door. Bring some ice because they don't have ice makers and the soda machine doesn't […] work. If you want a cheap nights stay just to get to WOF or OOF then this is the spot but right next door is a super 8, I suggest you try that hotel. I won't be staying here again! Mehr

We tried to check in when arriving in KC about 1:30 but the rooms were not ready. We were told that check in was not till after 3:00. This wasn't the problem. The problem was upon returning at 3:30 and our rooms still were not ready. We were unable to check into our rooms until nearly 4:00. I felt, because we had already paid for our rooms, there for […] weren't a threat to leave and find another hotel, the desk manager had no reason to accommodate us. I booked a non-smoking room, and the comforter had cigarette burns on it. Then when I checked the sheets, the first thing I saw was a small black bug. I immediately took my stuff out of the room and went to the front desk. They blew off the fact that there was a bug in the bed, and then switched me to a smoking room that had no towels. I have stayed here twice a year for many years now and always have a nice, quiet stay.

The room was supposed to be non-smoking room, but it really smelt like a smoking room. It seems like the walls/floor was thin. we were talking normally and got complaint from the front desk. The room is big, two queen beds, small studio kitchen with a pot, pan, dishes, cups. The bath room is very clean. I have stayed at two other hotels around this […] one and this is the best so far. Hate the service, smoking smell in non smoking room, No hot water in restrooms and basin, Big Blood spots on the Window curtain, mattress was ugly, it had stains. I was pretty much happy with my stay..the staff was friendly , and the location of the hotel was great. It was a little noisy at night and hard to find a place to park but that was ok. the only problem i had was i ask for a non smoking room and someone had smoked in the room before me..there was cigarette burns on the floor and in the blanket on the […] bed and the smelled was really strong in the curtainsand when you turned the heat on. We enjoyed our quick stay at Crosslands. We were impressed with the cleanliness and the amenities of such a well priced hotel! We go through Kansas City each when we visit my grandparents in Iowa and will definitely make Crosslands our usual stay! Thanks for the great service and great furnishings!

It was a good hotel for a quick cheap stay. It was located right off the highway and easy to find. the beds were not the best but I would stay again. Room was clean and nice.

Would not recommend this hotel. I couldnt sleep all night because of the prostitutes next door. Then the Drug dealings going on outside my door were just as annoying. I got what I paid for. I should have slept in the car.

I am extremely picky and I have nothing but praise for the facility, the management, and the area. Management was extremely friendly and helpful. Property was EXTREMELY clean. Room was great with a view of the amusement park--NO BUGS, NO STAINS ON CARPET OR WALLS; NO SMELLS; FRIG AND MICROWAVE WERE EXTREMELY CLEAN; SINK WAS SPOTLESS! Although it […] was located right next to the freeway, there was very little noise from traffic going by. Very little to no noise from other rentors. A gas station and a couple of restaurants were less than a block away. Downtown was less then 10 minutes away. Whenever I book in Missouri/Kansas again, I will ask for this specific hotel. Mehr

19" tv--small bed-not a regular hotel room

The room was good, the beds comfortable. The only downside was no coffee pot in the room. The staff was nice and helpful.

Was recently renovated so accomodations were nice. Hotels walls were a little thin so picked up lots of outside/other room noise.

I was a little leery of what to expect with the price of the room being so reasonable... let's just say I was totally shocked! The room was very clean and comfortable! I plan on staying there again!

For the price, the small room had a kitchenette and all seemed recently remodeled, new carpet, etc. Very clean. Nicest part was that they offer a free shuttle to a local venue where many of us were going for a concert that night. How many hotels offer that?? Front desk ladies were very helpful and nice, as well.

This is the bad aspect of my experience on my journey at Kansas City. I booked for a non-smoking room because I have smoke induce allergies but was put in smoking room. They refuse to change when complain. I booked for 3 adult and 4 children yet charge me extra person fee. It is rediculous.

Hotel was good for the price ,problem staff knew nothing.They didnt even know they had brochures and discount coupons were in them for Worlds of fun.Plus they dont even know the area they are working in.Towels shorthanded.,two towels for 4 people.The money was worth the refrig and microwave.

The Rooms were great but they over booked the double beded rooms so we either shared a bed or slept on the floor but the good thing about sleepin on the floor it was even comfrotable thats a good thing. But they worked things out but they need to get some roll away beds or something just to be safe so that things like that cant happened again. Oh well, […] things like that happens and the rooms where great though loved the condo looks great way to just cook in a hotel room instead of orderin out all the time when you dont have too. I do know we all enjoyed our stay. But had a great time there great area outside you can see worlds of fun oldest wooden roller coaster, and some new ones you can see just by standing outside looking the kids would love the location. I didn't mind that the room's contents were very worn. For the rate I paid that was almost a given. What I didn't care for was the toilet overflowing (clean water) and no maintenance person being available until the next day to look at it. I ended up sopping up the water w/towels I got from the front desk so it wouldn't seep down into the room below […] me (the caulking next to the shower wasn't sealed well). Also, there were no towels or washcloths in our room and had to be requested from the office as well. On the plus side, the woman at the front desk seemed genuinely sweet and as if she was doing the best she could with what she was given. Mehr

The hotel was acceptable for what we paid. The elevator had "klunky" sounds so I used the stairs. Our room smelled terrible of smoke even though we requested a non-smoking. When we requested a room deodorizer the gal game me a spray bottle with water in it.

I was on a trip with some friends to Worlds of Fun. The location of the hotel is excellent for that. In addition, it was nice to have a microwave and a mini fridge in the room. However, the hotel seemed a bit run-down. The room was not very clean, the sheets had to be changed upon arrival, and insects were a constant annoyance throughout the night. […] The bed was also uncomfortable. Stayed for one night while visiting Worlds of Fun. The hotel was a in a great location for visiting Worlds of Fun. Also, it was nice to have a mini fridge and a microwave in the room. However, the room was not very clean. We had to request new bed sheets because they had obviously not been changed before our arrival. The bed was very uncomfortable. […] And bugs were a constant annoyance all night. Overall, this was unacceptable even for a short stay for a group of friends. Clearly, not a place I would bring a family. I would recommend one of the nearby hotels and simply pay the higher price. Mehr

I paid for a non-smoking room because I think smokers STINK and it gives us headaches to smell the smoke residue. I walked into a non-smoking room and it had obviously been smoked in ALOT. Went to the office to get something to take away the smell and sprayed almost a whole bottle of fabreeze to get it somewhat removed. Still smelled but was at least […] somewhat tolerable. Mehr
