Hampton Inn Helen - Helen

This hotel is ok but basically mediocre in every respect. If you just need a place to crash for a night, its serviceable, but that's all, I'm afraid.

I was very impressed when I arrived for my stay. From the cute appearance from the outside to a very clean and spacious room and within walking distance to all the shopping in the area. Service from the front desk was friendly and exceeded any service that I have received anywhere else! We will most definitely stay again when we visit Helen, Ga!

We just recently completed a trip to Helen and stayed at Hampton Inn for the two days we were there. First I want to say that overall I had a good time and the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the main town. PRO: The hotel is nicely lighted, clean and nicely update. Our room is bright, clean, comfort bed and pillows, spacious […] with a nice bathroom and a view of the stream on the back. The hallway to our room is nicely lighted, open and clean. The included breakfast is OK... limited hot items... it's just us, we are used to full breakfast spread. CON: we weren't aware that the swimming pool is closed and not open until May. This info was not listed on the website. So to my kids disappointment, there were no swimming for them.... was one of the biggest thing for the kids. I guess because of the normal weather for that area during these times that it is normal for them to close the pool. I just wish they post that on the website. Mehr

The Hampton Inn Helen was a very nice set up. The rooms are spacious and clean, nice balcony view of the creek/river, surprising breakfast (waffles, sausage, muffins, etc) and it is located within walking distance of all the hot spots on Main Street.

Great place to stay! Good location, within a few blocks of all the little shops and eateries

This hotel was located in Helen, Georgia. The service was excellent. When we walked into the room we has roses pettles on the floor and bed with all types of candies. It was really cold on that weekend, however we still enjoyed ourself in the room. The staff did a great job.

Hampton Inn in Helen was in a great location to the shops of Helen. It allowed us to walk a block or two and be right in the middle of all of the shops and restaurants. The hotel was undergoing construction, but the room (King Suite) was excellent. I was very impressed! My only complaint was that there was a construction crew working at night, right […] under my room. I called the night desk attendant at 11:45pm to ask them to instruct the crew to stop working. I was getting infuriated when I had to call again at 12:45am to ask why they were still working. The next morning they were at it again at 8:00am. After breakfast I asked the front desk about a bill I received under my door showing a charge and credit, but it wasn't my credit card number. Apparently the night attendant charged my account with someone else’s card or something. Anyways, I asked for the manager's card and explained to the daytime front desk attendant, Angel about my experience, and that I felt that I paid for a good night's sleep and didn't receive it. Angel informed me that Hampton Inn has a 100% guarantee, and she refunded me the night. She was extremely pleasant to work with and was proactive in ensuring satisfaction. I definitely will stay at this hotel again, as the construction was supposed to be over by time of this review. I wasn't happy with the night time attendant, but maybe she had a bad night. I am taking the time to write this to say thank you to Angel, you have secured me as a customer when I visit Helen! Your professional attitude and attention to customer satisfaction should be an inspiration to your fellow co-workers. Best wishes! Mehr

Great location, we had a great big suite that was very comfortable! They are remodeling the breakfast area and the 1st floor but I didn't hear any hammering after hours. Room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful

We were not sure what to expect in a small town like Helen but we were so happy to see the hotel being walking distant to everything and the room was very nice as well.

We did an overnight trip, so getting a cabin would have been a waste in my opinion. Im very particular about where my family and I stay when we travel and this one met all of my expectations. Seriously the best located hotel for visiting Main St. in Helen Ga!!!!!!!!! Was recently renovated and very clean. I do question whether they clean the white comforters daily. Breakfast was good, I think it could have been restocked better for the duration of the breakfast hours. Front desk staff was very helpful. Will definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Great location to all the shops! We walked everywhere we went because it's so close! Staff was very friendly and it was overall a great stay!

The hotel is the most centrally located hotel in Helen. Convenient to downtown shops and restaurants. A better than continental breakfast is included. Entry to rooms is from inside corridors. Very secure.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was newly renovated and they did an excellent job. We loved the room.There were no problems and the hotel staff was very helpful when we were locked out of our car. Excellent room, good service, free continental breakfast with waffles. We will definitely stay here if we come back to Helen.

Hotel was very nice. adequate parking for all guests. Lobby is very nice and comfortable. Room was very comfortable and clean.

We were visiting for only two days, and were part of a Porsche gathering. We were very pleased that the Hampton was so comfortable, inexpensive, and convenienet for us.

Good room, clean facility. My only complaint is I used my debit card to cover anything extra during our stay since my bill was prepaid on expedia. I did not watch any movies or require anything extra but the hotel charged $50.00 to my debit card anyway and did not tell me or give me a receipt. When I called to question the charge they said it was for […] any incidentals used during our stay. Well there were none and I feel this is wrong to charge our account for any amount and tie up funds they had no right to. Mehr

I booked a smoking room and that was not what I wanted or what I thought I booked. I need a non-smoking room they fixed my misstake and change my room with no qestions asked. Motercycle fans will like that the parking is coverd and out of the weather. the rider that where staying there loved that.

After a thorough search of the mattresses for bedbugs, we found none and thought the room was clean. Later while lying on the bed watching TV, I noticed a small black bug with a protruding head and little antennae waving. I killed it and took it downstairs to the front desk and demanded another room. They willingly obliged but seemed disinterested in […] my dissatisfaction. I later did an internet search of bedbugs and found the images and description to be consistent with the small bug found in the room. We moved into another room on the same floor that was also apparently clean but the toilet was unlevel rocking from side to side whenever I sat on it. The clerk seemed bored when i mentioned this at checkout. I am a member of the Hhonors program having syayed in Hampton Inns all over the USA over the past 15 years. This is the worst experience my wife and I have ever had. We do not pan to stay at Hampton Inns ever again. Mehr

We checked in Saturday afternoon and immediately noticed the hotel was undergoing some renovations. This is normally not a big deal, but at 7pm, we were still hearing hammering, drilling, and the usual construction sounds. The upside is future guests will enjoy the renovations I’m sure. The hotel is within a two minute walk to Alpine Helen so we could leave the car at the hotel. Breakfast was the usual affair including self-made waffles, biscuits & gravy, bread, muffins, and so forth. All in all, a nice stay and I’d recommend the hotel. Mehr

They were in the middle of construction witch I know will be nice, but on Tuesday night they were still HAMMERING AT MIDNIGHT!Great location but will not book thru a third party again because we did buy the non refund. package. This was our first and probbably last stay with a Hampton Inn.I went down twice that night to the front desk and no one was there. We called twice and a lady did answer and said they were not to be working that late. We have been waiting to take a vacation over a year, we are not looking for anything but someone to say they recieved our concern.The stay at the country inn we booked thru you was very nice in stone mt. I was a little wary about the 4pm check-in time but they let us check in a little after 2 o'clock which was awesome! Everything was clean and the staff was very gracious. It's within walking distance of a town grocery/convenient store and the main shops were an easy stroll down the road as well. Really great value for your stay.
