"Schönes Hotel in bescheidener Lage"
Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 1. Feb. 2013Schönes neues Hotel mit schönen Zimmern, gutem Frühstück und hervorragendem Essen an der Bar. Eigentlich habe ich nichts auszusetzen, außer die Lage. Man braucht relativ lange um zum Zentrum zu gelangen und da ist der Zusatz "Midtown" einfach verwirrend.

"Hotel war gut"
Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 18. Sep. 2012Hotel lag zwar an einer Schnellstrasse, vom Laerm war im Zimmer nichts zu hoeren. Das Zimmer war sauber. Downtown war gut mit dem Bus zu erreichen ( Haltestelle vor dem Hotel ).

Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 19. Jul. 2012Ich war dort ganze 2 Wochen und ich war zufrieden. Das Gebäude ect. ist alt aber sauber. Das Pesonal ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Der Pool war bei der sommerlichen Hitze sehr angenehm. Das zimmer hält allerei annehmlichkeiten bereit, Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle, Kaffemaschine (+ tägliches auffüllen des Kaffevorrates & Becher!) Föhn jede Menge Handtücher....... Zum Frühstück kann ich nichts sagen, außer das es morgens nach frischen Waffeln gerochen hat ;o)ich habe auf dem Zimmer gefrühstückt! Die gute Verkehrsanbindung benötigt natürlich die Nähe zum Highway ;o) Ich fand es trotzdem nicht laut! Meist verbringt man ja den Tag irgendwo "draußen" und kommt nur zum schlafen ins Hotel! Ach übrigens; meine Klamotten konnte ich auch waschen und trocknen ;O) Die direkte Gegend um das Hotel ist nicht sehr einladend. Man braucht, wie sowieso in USA üblich, ein Auto, um die schönen Mall`s und Einkaufsläden zu erreichen! Zur Not kann man in ca 8-10 Minuten zu einem Walmart laufen. Ist aber ein Weg direkt am Highway und an Straßen, an denen NIEMAND zu Fuß unterwegs ist!! :-( Also bei einem Aufenthalt unbedingt vorher ein Auto mieten!!

"Close to Downtown"
The hotel was okay. The central location was amazing, very easy to find, and get around in Austin. There was one staff member whom was incredible, Angelique. Everyone else working at the hotel was rude, and unattentive. At one point there was a man working behind the desk who was speaking with one of his friends, and did not even acknowledge me until […] I coughed. The hotel was extremely clean, however our ceiling fan did not work at all, so we were really hot while sleeping. To be quite honest, I will never pay 160/night for that hotel again. My wife and I stayed here for a single night on our way out of Austin. We found the hotel very comfortable, and the staff helpful and accommodating. "Sub Par for Homewood"
I have been to Homewood Suites before and have been very pleased. This was not the case with this particular Austin location, however. We had booked this hotel for a wedding to save a few dollars on the pricy guest block at a neighboring hotel, but in retrospect, should have paid the extra $30! We had a child with us and arrived very late. By the time […] we lugged our bags up the elevator and down the hall and brought everything into the room, we realized that we were not issued the non-smoking suite we had reserved. This one had a lingering odor of smoke and cat! The decor was very outdated and the sink in the kitchen was clogged. The mattress on the sofa bed was ancient and the mattress cover had broken straps so we weren't even able to use it. On the plus side, the room was quiet, the bed was comfortable and staff were very friendly. For the price and the hotel name, we definitely were disappointed. "Thanksgiving visit"
We especially liked the small living area separate from the sleeping area. We seem to always have leftovers when eating out, and the full-size refridgerator is great. "Ruined Austin Week-End"
Our first room smelled musty and smoky; the bedspread had a smokehole, and of course the hallway smelled like smoke---need I say more! The manager very kindly showed us six more rooms, which also smelled musty, so chose the least musty room. We were very surprised that this was a Hilton hotel! first impression: the person in the front desk was busy on the phone and when she talked to me the only thing she said was what was my last name. She did not greet us. The bed was good. I slept on the sofa bed which one could immediately tell was very old and worn out. The refrigerator and air conditioning unit was very loud, I even had to wake up in […] the middle of the night and turn off the refrigerator. The breakfast was good. Will stay again when we are in the Austin area. Did not get to use the pool, but on our next stay we will make use of it. The pool looks excellent and inviting. The rooms were very clean and well set up for an extended stay, kitchen cook ware, plates etc were sufficient for four or five people. Extra blankets, pillows were at hand should they be needed. We stayed in a 2 BR suite. When we had a problem with our room the front desk employee and manager were very helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed the hot breakfast every morning. "Convenient, Comfortable, Need Anything Else?"
The AC blasts in the sleeping portion, but seemed to have trouble cooling the living quarters. Your full kitchenette includes an ice maker in the fridge, so turn it on as soon as you get there and don't go looking for one down the hall. Perhaps a heads-up from staff upon check-in would make this excellent convenience a little more, well, convenient. […] Decent spread at breakfast, and a very nice touch to have fruit accessible to guests off-hours. For food, you have your aforementioned full kitchenette and GAS GRILLS in the pool area. My room was very clean and well put together. It's not only conveniently close to the highway but in a secluded area providing a needed buffer to the highway noise pollution. met my sister and her husband and asked for across the hall rooms. and they accomodated. nice to have a full kitchen also. comfy bed and 2 hugh flat screen and the Windows Opened up... sounds silly but i like to have fresh air in the room esp on a night a storm came thru austin. there was a BBQ pit by the pool and we bought hamburger fixin's and grilled […] our own supper on sunday night but the other nights there was food. Were in town for a six day conference and made the right choice with this hotel. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the Air conditioning helped out a lot with the 100 degree heat outside. This hotel is very nice and clean. The room was spacious for the 6 people that we had. It was cozy and comfortable. What a great hotel! The staff is friendly and accommodating, the hotel is new and the rooms are fantastic! "Nice hotel, alittle out of the way"
The hotel itself was very nice. The personnel were friendly and helpful. The only thing we hated was that we weren't lucky enough to get a nonsmoking room. O verall I love this hotel - convience and comfort. I was disappointed that I couldn't relocate to a non smoking room, but the hotel was full. Maybe make more non smoking rooms available so if something like this happens again, there will be an alternative.
