Holiday Inn M6 Jct 2 - Coventry

I have stayed at this hotel regularly over the last two years prior to attending a dog show the following day; each time I have taken my dog into my room at night without ever being charged extra. On this occasion, i was told that company policy states that there isa £15 charge, I explained that previous reception staff were well aware that the dog […] was in my room but that I'd never been charged before. I know a lot of dog show exhibitors use this hotel prior to a show, so anyone who has kept their dog in the room without paying a charge in the past, be prepared to stump up extra the next time!!! I would like to highlight a new take on health and safety at this hotel.The waiter told me that there are no toothpicks available in the restaurant as it was deemed a risk to health and safety.Anyone heard that one before?

Very comfortable room - spacious. Hotel surrounded by lawns, so quite peaceful, despite proximity of roads and traffic. Nice pool.

For the cost we spent, this hotel provides adequate facilities, such as indoor warm water swimming pool (15 meter), sauna room, steam room and a Jacuzzi bath, with good service and cleanliness. My husband and I did not get any sleep due to the poor mattress quality, the frequent noise generated by water pumps in the hotel and the constant noise from outside the room, because of the big gap under the door, which also led to excess light into the bedroom during night time. . Close to the M6, good for a quick stopover. My biggest complaint is that it was time wireless was provided free.

This hotel delivered exactly what we expected. A room for three at a very reasonable price. Only issue was it was very hot overnight and only had a tiny window to ventilate the room. We had a meal in the restaurant which was pretty unexciting but served with a smile.

I chose the hotel as it was convenient. On check in the same thing happened as the previous ,six months ago. I had booked a non smoking and again I was told I had been booked into a smoking. I showed the check in clerck that I had booked a non smoking were she told me this wasent the case form the web site I'd used!!! I simlpy re iterated my request […] and showed her the confirmation. She left me and upon return put the reservation infront of me pointing out the small print which read "requests may not be fulfilled", with that all knowing I'm doing u a favour face.Why she felt the need to project her power over me I do not know but chose to enjoy my evening and not comment, although my collegues were more than keen too.U never get a second chance to make a firt impression and she sure is prity unforgetable.A great tone to set for my visit. The room was ok, the hygeine in the bath room could and should have been better with the last guests hair around the edges of the bath and toilet! On the whole the hotel is ok but its always the people that can let a place down. Mehr

Pros: - Online price for one night was very low compared to the displayed tariff in the hotel. - Very close to shops, restaurants + Petrol stations (Restaurants include:- Taybarns (all you can eat+drink for £12), F+B's, Pizza Hut, Burger King. There is also an Asda, Tesco, Showcase Cinema nearby too.) - Just a short journey down the motorway to birmingham. Cons: - […] Restaurant prices were too high. Cessar Salad, £10 or something??? Especially with all the competition around the hotel area. - Windows facing the rear where all the grass and rabbits are, were not clean (on the outside). - Hotel Swimming Pool, didn't go there but was kinda put off with the clear visibility of being able to see the pool and all it's swimmers from the car park. All in all, a comfortable nights sleep! Just needed somewhere to Eat + Sleep for the night and a combination of the Hotel and local businesses made it a cheap and worthwhile stay. Hotel was fine as expected from holiday inn, however the pool was literally green with algae. Not pleasant.

Very nice and quiet, comfortable bed and good pressure on the shower!

The hotel is situated well and staff are friendly. It is clean and comfortable and is a good all rounder. Its not exotic or special but great for business or a stop over. I would stay again and recommend to colleagues.

Good experience and convenient for the sights in Coventry. Very good value and excellent food. The leisure club was a big hit with our daughter and helped to make the stay a good one. Not the most picturesque setting but excellent as a base for sightseeting.
