Holiday Inn York - York

Had a pleasant stay at the hotel. We were only staying one night as meeting friends for a real ale day in York! The room was large and clean and had everything you needed. The bed was very comfortable. The only negative feedback was that I thought room service charges were was expensive. We didn't experience the bar or any other facilities.

The sound proofing in this hotel is not good, we had very noisy people in the room above us and we could hear the people talking next door. We had dinner in the hotel in the evening and it was very poor and not value for money at all. I would not use this hotel again and will think twice about Holiday Inn as a whole.

although the hotel is not right in the centre of york there are buses running constantly to take you there. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean and comfortable

Having been previously residents of York we knew already about the hotel and were not disappointed

Chose this due to free parking(hard to get in York) , got up to quiet area on fourth floor. Wasn't busy for a sat/sun. Nice big 32 inch tv. Big breakfast for eight pound. Taxi about six pound into centre. Got a a great half price deal with this site for a week end. Staff good too. Bed comfy. All in all a great stay. Pubs over the road nice. too far from town centre, had to wait for a long time to check in as only one person on the front, i gave up and went across the road for a couple of hours until it was a bit quieter. Had to phone a taxi as reception staff were reluctant and handed us the numbers. Other wise as usual standard which is very good

the rooms were lovely, staff very good, service with a smile thankyou it was a nice break in a lovely city.

We chose this hotel because it was dog-friendly. We were very happy with the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room of excellent quality (although the bathroom as a bit "tired". The buffet breakfast in the morning was varied and of good quality. The overall value was excellent, we will stay again.

We arrived at the hotel on Thursday at about 1pm. The hotel has a very large car park, on which we never struggled to find a space (a definite bonus in York!). Despite stating on the website that check-in only began at 2pm, we were given our room keys straight away, which we were very pleased about. The room was perfectly adequate with everything we […] needed for our stay. It was also extremely clean. Reception staff were on hand to give directions and local information which we found to be quite useful. The hotel is situated just off a main road on the main bus route into York. It is however too far away from the centre to walk (would take over an hour to walk). Getting the bus into the centre was fine and the bus conductor was extremely helpful. However, getting the bus back to the hotel from York was an absolute nightmare as the bus queue was enormous!! I would recommend doing what we did and walking to the rail station and getting the bus back from there. The downsides to the hotel are the prices of amenities - WIFI connection was a ridiculous amount per hour. In addition to that, I wouldn't recommend eating at the hotel's restaurant as i though that prices were extortionate! Overall a good stay. i would stay at a holiday inn again due to the consistent standard of the rooms and the service given. Mehr

Great hotel, next to the racecourse and about a 10 minute taxi ride into town... Nice and clean, modern rooms, staff were very helpful and friendly, plenty of parking Highly recommended and would stay here again, the only downside are the bar prices are a little high, but hotels are not renowned for being cheap

Really good hotel, good location (it is possible to walk to city centre) and good service as usual with Holiday Inn branch

Great hotel, lovely staff warm welcome. Perfect room & spotless bathroom - bed just a little too hard for me tho (if I had asked for another duvet to sleep on I am sure it would have been no problem at all judging by the customer service we received :-)

The room is too small for that kind of money, and not as aspect as see from the pictures. Although, on Hotel.com said there is a room for 3 people, but in the room there is only one double bed with a really small sofabed, the size of sofabed is only suitable for a person who is short than 1.55m. Dejligt hotel, søde mennesker, maden er rigtig god. Alt i alt en god oplevelse.
