- freundlicher Service - Zimmer war sehr einfach, Matratze ziemlich durchgelegen, aber alles sauber. Alles in allem ok, wenn man für einen kurzen Aufenthalt eine günstige Unterkunft sucht. - WLAN kostenfrei - Lage: Industriegebiet - ca. 15-20 min Fußweg bis zur Innenstadt - Preis/Leistung ok

Das Hotel ist zentral gelegen und die wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten und die Innenstadt lassen sich zu Fuß erreichen.

Das Hotel ist total süß, Zimmer und Frühstücksraum typisch englich eingerichtet. Das Personal sehr zuvorkommend und spricht teilweise deutsch, wenn es mitbekommt das man aus Germany kommt. Frühstück typsch englich und reichhaltig. Es hat einen kleinen Wellnessbereich mit Schwimmbad, was wir leider aus Zeitgründen nicht genutzt haben. Im großen und ganzen ist das Hotel sehr zu empfehlen, wenn man die Gegend erkunden möchte. Es fahren ausserdem Schnellbusse von Chipping Norton nach London und Oxford, was aufgrund der Parksituation zu empfehlen ist. Wir werden wohl zu Wiederholungstätern bei diesem Hotel. P.S. Keith Moon war Drummer bei The Who und bekannt für sein Partys im Ort.

Das Zimmer ist neu renoviert und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, tolle Farbgebung. Frühstück tiptop, Abendessen jedoch etwas enttäuschend: sehr kleine Portionen, Qualität und Auswahl durchschnittlich - obwohl im Zimmer speziell für die Küche geworben wurde > preisgekrönter Chef. Schlechtes Preis-Leistung fürs Essen.
Lage
Macdonald Alveston Manor Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon befindet sich im historischen Viertel in der Nähe von Stratford Butterfly Farm, Shakespeare Monument und Swan Theatre. Nicht weit entfernt befinden sich: Royal Shakespeare Theatre und Anne Hathaway's Cottage.

lovely old hotel, nice clean room but rather small, did enjoy the evening meal although rather expensive, breakfast was lovely with a great selection of hot and cold food, would i stay again? yes.

"Great hotel in a great city"
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We were able to get an upgrade to the "old part" of the hotel, which offered a wonderful room to spend our trip in. The rooms were clean and bright and very comfortable. The staff were extremely polite and friendly and had great knowledge of the local area. The breakfast was also amazing. "Brilliant Value For Money"
Brilliant value for money because of the quality of the actual hotel and convenience of the location (Five minute walk to RBS). The only thing I would say is that the drinks in the hotel were very,very over priced which I know is quite usual for hotels but OMG.......!!

Excellent location 5 mins walk from centre of town. Beautiful facade and public rooms not matched by the bedroom which was average. On two of the three occasions we used the restaurant we had to wait while a table was cleared and made ready. Breakfast at £15.50 I considered to be expensive for 1 sausage,1 rasher of bacon,1 mushroom,1 egg and 1 tomato […] plus toast cereal. Reception was often unattended. I would recommend but don't expect 4* service Mehr
"OK but not Great!"
The hotel is in a great location but the room where we were situated was so noisy from 6am onwards due to the maids and othe guests! It was awful, I was honestly happy to get back home for a decent sleep. The rooms are far to compact compared to other McDonald hotels we have stayed at. The bed is literally a foot from the door leading onto the hall […] way so you hear everything! Stratford itself is an amazing place and would recommend it to anyone for a get away, Mehr
"Beautiful looking hotel in an ideal location."
When you drive into the hotel, it is everything that you expect - beautifual Elizabethan building set in lush grounds. The reception is every bit as enchanting, with low beams, luxurious decor and the staff were incredibly helpful. Unfortunately, the rooms lacked a bit of care and attention and as most people have said, the extension to the hotel could […] do with a bit of a makeover. It is definitely a 4-star hotel, and very comfortable, but there was pealing paint in the bathroom, the towels were very hard and crisp and it just took away from that edge of luxury that you were expecting after checking in. The spa, however, is lovely and I would definitely recommend getting your money's worth there. The treatments are VERY expensive compared to regular places and I was a bit annoyed that they bumped their prices up at weekends - seemed a bit penny pinching to me! Stratford is beautiful, though, and this is the perfect base to explore from. Mehr

"OK except when leaving"
The hotel was fine until we left. Reception presented the bill and this included room which had been pre-paid. Unfortunately the very polite and pleasant young lady on the desk was alone (perhaps not a good idea at check out time) and this problem cuased a lengthy queue whilst she contacted someone on the telephone to clarify the position and then […] the bill had to be re-presented Mehr
"GREAT HOTEL FOR LOCATION AND QUALITY!"
Great place to stay for a couple or a family. First impressions were great. The actual quality of the hotel and the room were fantastic. The only down point was the service at the bar was very slow and even when we ordered our drink they got it wrong, but maybe they were having a bad day...! Overall I would recommend it to anyone as it is in walking […] distance to everything, even the racecourse is only 20mins away if you like to walk. A definate must stay!! Mehr
