While this hotel is within walking distance of Gatwick terminal, is staffed by very nice people, is clean and has a good bed, there is nothing else to recommend it. It is grossly overpriced. The rooms are the size of a tiny shoe box. When you see the size of the room you will wonder why you paid so much. In my room, I could not find a hair dryer, there […] were very few amenities (given the cost) and the towels appeared shabby - one had a huge hole from wear. Find a clean room elsewhere, save your money and take a taxi to the airport! Mehr

I stayed this hotel one night, but it was fantastic hotel. I think I want to stay longer.

Great location for the airport - we stayed the night before our flight and it worked really well. Room was comfortable without being luxurious. Food was quite pricy but the meal we had was very good - we decided to get a better value breakfast in the airport before the flight

Very convenient for Gatwick Airport. Comfortable room and pleasant public areas. Drinks are expensive but overall, as good as it gets for Gatwick Airport

We arrived by Taxi and when dropped off the concierge directed us straight to reception. Quick check-in as well as check-out, the following morning. A very short walk to the North Terminal Building, as well as transit system to South Terminal. Ideal if you have any early flight. Facilities on site were good, although some prices were high. Excellent hotel which I have used on many occasions. Location is ideal if you require an overnight stay.

This is the third time I have stayed at this hotel and this time I was not pleased with my room. I had booked one room with a queen bed and when I checked in, I did not realize I was given a room with two twin beds until I got to the room. When I called the front desk, they said the room I booked was not available so they gave me a room with two twin […] beds. The person at the front desk said I could be upgraded to the room I paid for but I was already in the room and was tired after a day of traveling. I should have been given the option when I was at the desk checking in and not after I had already arrived in the room. Mehr

Can't fault the room as was extremely clean and comfortable. Used this hotel as was flying out of North Terminal early in the morning and so was very convinient for this. My only complaint would be that i could hear noise from the bar located on the same floor which was just around the corner, i always travel with earplugs anyway so didn't bother me […] too much. An excellent hotel for a preflight or post flight stopover en-route. It lives up to it's star rating. The staff went the extra mile to please. There was a Marks and Spencer foodstore a 3 minute walk away for extra supplies also other restaurants and pubs available in both terminals. The Inter-terminal shuttle train was conveniently next to the hotel […] and the hotel was very soundproof from aircraft or trains etc. we were able to rest and sleep well and it helped with the time change jetlag. Airport luggage trolleys can be wheeled to the hotel but not taken to the room. You can be dropped or picked up by car or taxi at the hotel. Mehr

Very clean and convenient to airport teminals from indoor walkways. There was no toiletries in my room but that was the only downside. I would definately stay again.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in... it has everything and staff are always more than willing to help!!... Fantastic.. wouldnt dream of going anywhere else when travelling !!

Super convenient for an early departure from Gatwick North. Not bad for south via teh shuttle train. Hotel is in great condition, easy covered walk, even with lots of luggage to teh terminal. I ate in the Chinese restaurant, its ok, not a destination eatery, but fine for casual dining. Only issue with the hotel is that it lacks a proper bar, somewhere […] to relax in a pub like space, there is a bar but it is all a bit French. Mehr

In terms of location to the airport, it doesn't get any better. Just a short indoor walk to terminal. Rooms very comfortable and clean. A bit more expensive than other airport hotels, but staying here did give us an extra hour in bed because it is so convenient to the airport.

We often stay in Sofitel as beds are super and rooms very comfortable. The Gatwick version is normally very good indeed and there is a decent enough asian restaurant which makes it a good overnight stay if you are off from the airport the following morning. Car Parking with a room also offers a good deal. Unfortunately, on this occasion, there was a […] problem and NOT HOT WATER meant a cold and not so good start to our day! Mehr

The hotel is convenient as one can walk through a corridor to get to Terminal 1 entrance. We arrived at 23.00, and all the restaurants were closing up. We had to order very expensive room service. There were no rooms for smokers, and no lounge one could enjoy a sigarette. One had to go outside (quite a little walk, as the reception area was on 2.n […] floor), and there was a designated around the corner from the hotel. Quite horrible to be standing in the freezing wind outside. The receptionist spoke English in a manner that was very dificult to understand, it was not his mother-language, so we struggled to get the meaning of everything he said. The hotel is clean and nice, the breakfast expensive, and it comes across as a "stop-on-the-way" sort of place, where they don't have to bother much, since the guests will keep coming anyway, because of the location. Good hotel - very convenient when travelling from Gatwick. Good quality but expensive in the bars and restaurants.

Good location for Gatwick departures. The only negative about this hotel is every time I stay there is always a long check in Queue.

Stayed he again as sooo good. Night before we went to Berlin. Amazing hotel, room was massive with view of airport, dinner was stunning at the French one. A must if flying from Gatwick.

as usual the hotel is 100% you could not ask for more well done

For a morning flight to the Caribbean, it is difficult to reach Gatwick from many parts of the UK. So staying the previous night at this hotel is ideal; there is no pressure on the journey down, and it is an easy stroll over to the airport next morning. Hint: British Airways allows check-in, and even bag drop, on the evening before the flight. At this […] time all their desks are very quiet, and it avoids queueing the next day. Mehr

Excellent hotel - convenient location within the north terminal. Bar prices are exorbitant - one beer and a glass of wine for £15.20!!!

Lovely Hotel very convenient for the North and South terminals, no shuttle service needed.

Sofitel Gatwick is a lovely hotel. The hotel is in a good location and very convenient. The atmosphere is relaxing. The rooms and the beds are comfortable. We would recommend to other people.

The convenience to Gatwick is incomparable. You can rent your car and drop it right next to the hotel, you are 5 minutes from check-in, and the hotel is first class.

Food excellent hotel too , the only fault was the tv in the room was from the 1950s worst picture I have seen on a hotel tv

This was the second time I have stayed at this Softel with an early morning flight the next day. It is more than convinient, with easy access, albeit, there is a lot of construction in preparation for the 2012 Olympics in London...but the stay was once again just right!

For the North Terminal at Gatwick, you can't do better. No worry about transfer times, just push your luggage to departures in a few minutes. Very comfortable rooms.

The staff do not appear to have been trained to make cocktails - we sent 3 back! different flavours

The only things lacking were a hairdryer and a coffee/tea kettle. For that kind of money you'd think you could make yourself a hot drink in the morning.

This continuesto be the most convenient hotel for users of Gatwick Airport .It is comfortable and efficient . The prices have gone up but are still bette value than central London

Best hotel if flying from North Terminal The only disappointment was that it was impossible to have a meal a all the restuarants were full from 7Pm and a waiting time of 2Hrs when you were told to stay in the bar until called

had to argue with the staff to get a power adaptor, among other requests. it seemed they would just simply not listen to what was being said.

What a great way to start a holiday. We had a fantastic suite with panoramic views of the local countryside and a free mini bar.
