We enjoyed our stay, even with the blackout!

The only problem was other guests that were yelling outside our door at 11:30 at night. They were talking loud, laughing and yelling for about 15 minutes, it woke us up and it was hard to go back to sleep. We did not contact the front desk because we thought it would just last a couple of minutes.

If you get caught in a historic blackout as I was this is the place to be. Hotel is near the ocean and even without power the room was comfortable. Staff was as helpful as possible under the circumstances-which were difficult. Good staff makes the rating.

For the affordable price- I was surprised, Alexis at the front desk was absolutely courteous, friendly, professional, and helpful. Legoland tickets cheaper from this hotel. Staff was kind, Room was clean and comfortable. Free Continental Breakfast was very good and filling. Location was perfect, easy fwy access, beach,stores, and restaurants/ fast food […] places walking distance. Will definitly go back. Parking was free and easy, bigger plus. We had planned on staying in Del Mar close to the Race Track but nothing was available as there was a huge race that weekend ($1,000,000) so we called hotels.com and were directed to the Days Inn Encinitas. The hotel is a five mnute walk to the Transit Centre which was perfect as we just hopped the Coaster to Del Mar and shuttled to the race track. […] The room was clean and comfortable and even thoughit is quite close to the highway we weren't bothered by the noise at all. The fridge and micorwave was a bonus and the breakfast just typical fare for budget hotels. There is a Denny's in the parking lot however we were dissapointed that they didn't serve wine or any alcohol. The beach is a 7 minute walk and town with it's great shops and restaurants is about 7 minutes too! We enjoyed our three night stay very much and will be back next racing meet. Mehr

The staff were helpful and rooms were clean and well maintained.Ideal location to beaches and shopping.

This hotel is awesome! The staff is very friendly and kind, and the service is really good. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody. If I were to say anything that wasn't good for me personally, it was the fact that I was on the third floor, on the other side of the house form the elevator. With two really heavy suitcases, it was a fight […] for life to get to the room. There was no service for my phone there, so whenever I needed to make a phone call, I had to step outside or even go downstairs and move away from the motel a little. Breakfast was nice, and the fact that there was just a 15 minute walk to Moonlight beach was extraordinary convenient. Mehr

The room was OK. Because we had requested queen size bed the only room available was a handicapped access room. Kind of weird!

Our stay was average. It's one of the most affordable hotels in the area and I liked that it was right down the street fro m Moonlight Beach. The rooms are average but again, affordable. On a budget, I would stay there and recommend it to others understanding that it's a means to save money to spend on your vacation instead of your room.

small but nice

Good value in proximity to beach. Did not feel very secure with my kids being outside hotel due to the interesting choice of people lounging throughout the property. One area outside of pool had day laborers looking for work all day long. Room was good. Service was good.

Our rooms were clean and well maintained. The mattress was very comfortable. The rooms were very quiet even though the hotel is located next to the freeway. We would definitely stay there again.

I had a friend in town and wanted a place for us to stay since I had to work during the day, leaving her with no transportation. From the outside the motel doesn't look like much, but the rooms were very clean and quiet. My back hurts many times after sleeping at a hotel/motel, but my back didn't hurt at all. You are within walking distance from Moonlight […] Beach, the train and the town of Encinitas. The price was very good. I would stay here again. Mehr

NIce room for the family 2 queen, fridge & microwave in the room. Free wi-fi all around with good reception. Cable TV. Denny's Restaurant next door. Wendy's across the street. Close proximity to beaches. We'll glady come back here.

The room was in good condition very, clean and comfortable. Stayed here after a concert at the Belly Up and it was perfect. Great location close to the beach, shopping and good food.

All the other reviews had me worried but this hotel was a great bargain. It's no Marriott, but great location at a reasonable price. Neighbourhood was safe, beach about a 10-15 minute walk away, Denny's in the parking lot, Wendy's and Subway across the street plus many other businesses. The bad was no cell phone coverage for AT&T at the hotel in the […] back since it sits against a hill - which is actually good for sound (it was quiet). Hotel staff were great. I'll be back. Mehr

Really nice hotel. Clean. Quiet. Really nice location. Right off 5 but it's set by the side of a hill so you can't hear the freeway at all. We went to Legoland and Seaworld and it was a short drive to both. Denny's in front and continental breakfast every morning. We would absolutely stay again.

This is one of those times I wish I'd paid a little extra to stay somewhere nicer. Both my wife and I were woken up both nights we stayed here due to noise from surrounding rooms well after midnight including people slamming doors and screaming between people making noise and people woken up by people making noise. Had to park by the Denny's since the […] hotel did not have enough parking near our room but that's not unexpected for any place near the beach. Very basic room and horribly thin walls and creeky floors. Small and threadbare towels with a near sandpaper texture to them. "Breakfast" is coffee, juice and some bread or muffins plus a couple apples and bananas. The worst part is the fact that low class people tend to stay at cheap motels like this, hence the screaming and slamming stuff into floors and walls all night long by the people in neighboring rooms. Next time I'll spend extra to not feel like I'm at a drug dealer/user motel. The only plus is that the surrounding area is reasonably nice and it's walking distance to the beach, otherwise I'd rank it the lowest score. Mehr

Hotel was in a convenient location to the highway and the beach. Room was clean, but small. Heard loud yelling from one of the other floors late at night. No elevators.

We called ahead for late check in, still they gave us a 3rd floor room. Beds were OK, cleanliness was average, and breakfast was muffins. It was OK for a one night stay for us, because we were on a road trip with different hotels each night. And, we picked this hotel because it was reasonably priced and 30 min away from Sea World.

Never checked in ..looked like people were living there with laundry hanging all over the hotel rails, tried to get in contact with the hotel with no success, cheap rate for a cheap place

The hotel was located within walking distance of the beach, so that was convenient. It was also close to stores and a variety of restaurants. They were remodeling and painting while I was there, which caused a few inconveniences (fumes, difficulty parking, etc.) and would have been nice to know about in advance. Further, there was a group of about five […] to ten men that hung out around the hotel everyday for about six hours, presumably waiting for work (ironically, they would congregate immediately surrounding a "No Loitering" sign). I admittedly found that a little odd, and I wasn't very comfortable walking past them when I was alone. All things considered, my stay at Days Inn Encinitas was unremarkable. I was there to spend time at the beach, not spend time in a hotel, and my room was perfectly adequate for the tasks of sleeping and showering. Mehr

the days inn in encinitas, ca was perfect for what i needed. the location was near my friends and the breakfast was nice. i would stay there again.

This is an inexpensive and convenient place to stay while visiting Encinitas and the surrounding area. It is right off the freeway and close to the beach. We did not spend much time in the hotel and this worked well for us as a convenient base of operations for our visit.

A very clean hotel and a great stay at a very reasonable price.

Small but clean and there is a nice local bar across the street within walking distance which was important to us!

The room was very nice for the price, but we did not get a Queen Bed, which is what was advertised.

Since hotels were a bit more expensive in this area, we made our decision mainly on cost. Hotel is dated but was clean. The breakfast is only continental (so no eggs, waffles, etc.). The desk was friendly, the hotel was in a nice area (well-lit, clean, close the the highway and restaurants, 3 blocks from the beach), and the rooms were what we paid for. Great Mexican and sushi nearby. It's not a fancy hotel, but it isn't rundown. I would definitely stay here again.

Very satisfied. I am a clean freak and a hotel in this price range scares me.....But the room smelt clean and WAS. Great Value and Great location , Quiet on the back side ... Pool is not much...breakfast Just ok....You will NOT get a better hotel at this price in this area. Close to a nice beach and Train to San Diego a Good move. Encinitas is a good […] beach city and Solona and Del Mar very close. I would stay or recommend this hotel to anyone at the price. When I was leaving they said they were putting in new carpet etc next week. Hope prices don't go up. Great place if you need a clean room. Lucadias Pizza on corner very good and a Denny's in the parking lot. D Street bar very good also. 2-3 miles east on Encinitas blvd. Original Pancake house good ask the locals for info. very nice area. Good firm clean beds!! Check out the Horse track if it is in season. Oh and The Fish House by Track is excellent ..up scale. Mehr

Very close to I5, gas station, Dennys, Subway. Clean rooms. Complimentary breakfast included - muffins, cream horns, cornflakes, milk, juice, bread, bagel toaster, instant oatmeal, apples and coffee. Had blockage problem in bath tub but house keeping was prompt and solved it. They provide electronic safe, microwave, TV, iron, coffee maker in the room.
