The room smelled badly and we almost didn't stay even though it was paid for. We were up and gone as soon as possible. The heat was on 90 and the room didn't heat up, even though it was about 50 degrees outside. I would never stay there again even if someone paid me.

Days Inn Dubuque was a pleasant surprise. Service was excellent, room clean, no unusual smells, dog friendly for our two Maltese. The food was plentiful and good in the morning. A good value!

I got exactly what I paid for - a decent room at a decent rate in Dubuqe, Iowa. For what I paid I certainly wasn't expecting a four star hotel. The room was fairly clean and had a slight "hotel room" smell to it, but it wasn't bad. The beds were so-so, plenty of pillows and clean towels. What more do you really need? The location is very conveniently […] located just off Route 20, and I liked the fact that you can pull right up to your room. Overall not a bad hotel for a couple guys traveling through. Excellent location to get most places in Dubuque. Quiet and nice that they accept pets.

The hotel was pretty much what we expected. The first room smelled funny. We contacted the front desk and were granted a new room which was much better. Overall it seemed clean, but is not an upscale motel by any means. We got what we expected.

Nice and quite. Ok for the price i paid. Maids service was bad, they only took out the trash and made the bed, didn't clean really. Bar in lobby was neat and had good food.

This hotel is setup for and caters to fishers of the MS river. I would recommend it to those who are going to do this or, some other activity which required you to be in a motel, but few other travelers.

Rooms in need of some updating and maintenance,( bathroom grout) but were clean. Great location, close to shopping, and downtown area, easy to get to and from. Great value for the cost. Would book there again.

The hotel room was disgusting. My clothes and CPAP machine still smell. The bed was hard as a rock. I would only suggest this hotel to people I don't like. The breakfast and the staff were very good. I feel bad that they have to service such a disgusting hotel.

1st floor dump,Toilet ran all night,Black cob webs on ceiling,Window air conditioner sounds like plane starting up, Notsure what stain was in sink that I couldent clean, Our friends room upstairs had bed made up,we got trash & towel, but they could have emptied the coffee pot out. Room was clean and comfortable. Exterior/stairwells were showing their age. It would have been nice if there was some indication that the door handle had to be pulled up instead of pushed down--learned that after I walked the equivalent of 2 blocks in sweltering heat back to the office because I thought my key card wasn't working. Close to downtown Dubuque, and Galena. Hotel had musty odor, but seemed clean, ok to sleep but would not have wanted to stay longer than 1 night

The chairs in the room were filthy, the paint was peeling off the walls and ceiling, the decor reflected the 1970s and it smelled of mold and mildew. I would not recommend anyone stay here. Was pretty quiet. THERE WERE ABOUT 25-30 MOTORCYCLE THERE ON FRIDAY NIGHT, BUTN WE DID NOT HEAR A THING. THE GROUNDS COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE CLEANER BUT OVERALL EVERYTHING WAS GOOD.

The price was right, and the room was clean when I got there. I stayed for 4 days, and the cleaning standard slipped; no trash bags were replaced, I had to ask for towels and bags at the desk so I found that annoying. And the mattress was getting to its last days. Overall it was slightly nicer than Motel 6 and Super 8.

This hotel seemed like an outstanding bargain. It was too good to be true. Its true that the breakfast and updated lobby were the best part of our experience. The room we were given had bed bugs and we became itchy and broke out in rashes after being in the room a few hours. We saw a bug. A few rooms down from us some rough looking people were hanging […] around with their pit bull dog in the walkway. All night we heard sirens and tractor trailers and loud noises from the nearby highway. Additionally the shower head was too low and you had to duck under it to stand in the water. The mirror had fingerprints all over it that were leftovers from the previous guests. Our room was not ready at check in because it was a holiday weekend and we got the impression that they didn't allow the staff adequate time to thoroughly clean the rooms. They suggested we switch from non-smoking pet free room to a different room type for faster check in. Judging from the odors in the walkway coming from those rooms, I'm really glad we didn't take this offer. Mehr

We always stay here when we're in Dub. This time we added a night for a total of 3 nights. Check the rates: This is a great rate for a nice room, comfortable beds, and a very good breakfast. The rooms are not the Ritz but are very functional. The rooms are getting individual HVAC units which made ours even more comfortable and quiet. It .was rather noisy at the Days Inn in Dubuque. The room was rather small and it was hard to keep the temperature moderated. However the continental breakfast was good and the breakfast room was clean and cheerful

"A comfortable place to stay while in Dubuque"
Our room was clean and looked out at some lovely limestone walls. Although the price was a bit higher than what we normally pay, we understood that it was a prime weekend and nearly every hotel and B&B in town was fully booked. Even though there was a "Dock Dogs" event happening in the area, and many of the guests had their dogs with them in their rooms, […] the noise was minimal. In fact, we only heard barking when their owners took them for a walk and they met other dogs. Unfortunately, we didn't get out to the outdoor bar during our stay (we have during earlier visits and enjoyed it very much), but the hotel is close enough to downtown and the the riverfront attractions that the drive time is relatively short. The continental breakfast offered a wide variety of food and was kept well-stocked. All-in-all a great place for a weekend getaway. Mehr

Don't let the lobby and lounge fool you. That is all the ownership invested in. The rooms are the same as they were when it was a Holiday Inn 30 years ago. Spend a couple of extra dollars, and stay somewhere else.

"Would stay again."
Rooms were nice for the price. Beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows. All entrances are exterior and it was a little noisy, but we were close to the main entrance. We had another room on the back of the building, and they said they didn't have any noise.

It was nice, and definitely the cheapest place to stay in Dubuque. I wouldn't feel the greatest about my family staying there, but for just a guy on a business trip, it met my needs.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The room was not clean upon arrival, then still not clean after the staff supposedly cleaned it. Shower barely worked. Motel is NOT air conditioned and has only one tiny window above the door for air. Overall, completely garbage motel I wouldn't recommend to stay at.

Check-In & Out was great, room was exactly as we asked. Only downfall of the place was paper thin walls, you could hear EVERYTHING in the rooms next to you and outside. (Loud drunks made it a little hard to fall asleep.)

If you're into hotel / motels with outdoor walkways, showers that act like liquid strobe lights (HOT cold hot COLD every 3 seconds), and a constant flow of motorcyclists right outside your door at both 2am and 9am, revving their engines for 15 minutes before grinding out of the parking lot, then this is your place. Oh, and if you plan on going out […] other than the hotel bar, there are no taxis, there is also no HBO or Showtime, and definitely no pay-per-view. This hotel is conveniently located to many tourist attractions. The staff is personable and informative. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. We did have an issue with the tub not draining correctly. Maintainance corrected it immediately. The view from our window was beautiful. On one side of the parking lot was a very tall and beautiful rock […] cliff with ivy growing throughout. Not only was it pleasant to view it blocked all noise from the nearby highway. the employees were friendly enough but the reservation was incorrect had to change rooms to get what we asked for and as warm and humid as it was outside during our stay would have been better if the air conditioning worked to cool room off. don't think I would stay there again
