This is a great location if you want to explore DT Tampa. The hotel is undergoing some renovations, but it is in pretty good shape. The front desk personnel were not always that friendly, but maybe they were having a bad day. The parking attendant was GREAT, but parking is $12 a night. I especially liked having a balcony. We stayed the night before our cruise. It was great with some good places to eat near by.

Lots of nice places to eat nearby and free shuttle service within 2 miles. Able to walk to the convention center without issue.

I was in Tampa taking the bar exam. The hotel was close to the exam location, and the staff was fully prepared to assist with the process. The shuttle was on-time, and the front desk was knowledgeable and friendly. The rates were reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was nice, affordable and my room seemed like it was recently updated. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is also conveniently located to just about all that Tampa and South Tampa has to offer. I would say over all it a solid 3.5 stars...or a solid "very good".

Rooms were fine, convenient location for Gasparilla (right at the end of the parade), but the hotel service was lacking. They oversold parking so they had no room left for guest vehicles. No one offered to assist us with our bags. The elevator broke down during our stay and it didn't seem like there was any urgency to have it repaired. Hotel was nice and clean. The staff was generally very helpful. A couple of issues were the Valet Parking was full and they didn't have a clear way to park, the elevators didn't work for a while and the vending machines on my floor didn't work. Minor inconveniences for a nice weekend stay.

I booked the hotel in advance through hotel.com and after I booked it I read not so great reviews. I was anxious! I was POSITIVELY surprised. They renovated most of the rooms. I stayed in one of the renovated room, Great bed, and Internet connection. You can also open the screened window for some fresh air. I was told that they will be renovating the […] rest of the hotel rooms and lobby in the next couple of months. Breakfast was great and inexpensive. The service is the best ever in every single shift. From the bell staff, front desk, cleaning staff, and wait staff. The shuttle to the convention center is a short ride and readily available. If you are in a rush, the bell staff will call you a cab. If you are 2 people taking a cab to the convention ctr. cost is totally unbelievably cheap. There is a mini refrigerator in the room. They hold a large refrigerator downstairs by the front desk , stocked with reasonably priced items:sandwiches, salad and drinks, not forgetting necessities such as chocolate, cold medicine etc. The staff is appreciative and goes out of their way for their guests. There are a bunch of good small restaurants within walking distance or you can use shuttle for fancier ones. The neighborhood restaurants deliver with NO delivery fees and give you discounts at times. Mehr

Was out here for a conference, and the rates here were better than the 2 hotels closer to the convention center. Everything about my stay was good. The room was nice, staff was nice, and location was good. There was a free shuttle that runs within 2 miles of the hotel (taking you pretty much anywhere you need to go downtown). The Convention Center is […] about a 10-15 minute walk away, and there are a bunch of great restaurants within a couple blocks of the hotel. I'd stay here again for sure if i had anything at the convention center. Mehr

The Marriot satisfied most of our needs. But was disapointed that when I booked this hotel that there was shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. But found out that they didn't and had to pay an extra twenty dollars for a cab to get there. In most hotels you should get the buffet included in with your hotel stay but this was also extra.

Great location for us to catch a hockey game. Excellent recommendations for restaurants by the front desk staff. Pleasant valet parking staff. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This was a 2 night stay before we took a cruise. In the reception they had free cookies and they were able to take us (shuttle) to a closeby church on Christmas. The location was in downtown during the Holiday so pretty much everything was close including museums and the Aquarium. The shuttle took us to the pier were we took our cruise.

This hotel was wonderful, the rooms were just renovated with great style and convenience. Everything was spotless. I would recommend this hotel 100%.

I've been to many Courtyard Marriotts. This one seems to need a renovation or is under way & I won't stay at a Marriott again. We booked two rooms. One room was satisfactory. One had a flat screen TV that didn't work & the HVAC's heater didn't work. The front desk put us in another room. The breakfeast buffet for $9 is not to the Marriott standard […] & should be complimentary like at Hampton Inns or Holiday Inns. Go elsewhere for breakfeast. The shuttle driver allowed other hotel guests to board the shuttle bus with a partially lit cigar with my 3 month old on board. When we complained to the guest & the driver took no action to stop the shuttle & ask the guest to get off & dispose of the cigar. As a result I cut my hand opening the sliding windows so we could breath. Rest of the hotel staff were very helpful. Mehr

We had a great stay in the hotel. The staff from the moment we got there were extremely nice and accommodating. The room was very clean and welcoming and had a great view of downtown Tampa. The shuttle service was a great feature as well.

This hotel charges you per night to park in their parking lot. If you go on a five day cruise and spend one night, you still have to pay per day to park there. They also do not disclose this information when you book the room.

we stayed here before a cruise, and room was clean, took hotel shuttle out for dinner that night, & shuttle to cruise port. Not too much to see in surrounding neighbourhood but a great beer & wine bar across from the hotel

The employees were very considerate and prompt with everything. We were always greeted with a smile. The valet and bellboy were very fast. All in all I have no complaints. Would definitely recommend to anyone with an event at the St. Pete Times Forum.

Travelling alone as a female felt safe in hotel. Clean and pretty view of courtyard. Free shuttle to convention center one of the best features.

The hotel is in an area that was kind of rough around the areas but convenient if you are want to be close to the University of Tampa. You have to valet your car and the men that were in charge of that had no sense of urgency. Not only that but we recorded our miles when we dropped it off, and when we picked it up it had 43 more miles on it. Very unsettling. […] I would definitely just recommend paying more if you can and stay somewhere nicer that prides itself on customer service. Mehr

I figured since it was a marriott it would be a really nice room but it wasn't. The drapes were torn and it smelled funny. But since my original plans fell through, this place was there in a pinch. If I had to do it again, I would opt to pay more for a different place. Definitely not worth the 10 savings.

The Courtyard in Downtown Tampa was very nice, though Tampa's downtown attraction is definitely not great. We were in Tampa for a concert and wanted an affordable hotel within walking distance of the Forum for the show, and this hotel certainly delivered that. There's not much surrounding the hotel attraction wise though at lunch time there are an array […] of little cafes and interesting stops which makes this a worthwhile weekday venture. Mehr

The hotel staff was very friendly and the valet parking was wonderful for us. I really enjoyed the shuttle service to and from the port when we went on our cruise. That alone was worth it for me.

Overall this hotel met my expectations for the Courtyard brand. The front desk staff was superb, extremely helpful even calling to make dinner reservations for us. The shuttle service is very convenient due to the limited parking situation. We waited about 10 min. each time for the shuttle. Main complaint would be the lack of parking in the area, so […] we paid for the valet. Mehr

Great accommodations except for an obnoxious guest partying a little to hardy in the early hours of the morning. Could not figure where the noise was coming from until morning, however the staff took immediate action once identified. Shuttle to the cruise terminal was great, just remember to let the staff know so they'll put you on the list. Comfortable […] places to eat within walking distance from the hotel. Great vacation, great service with the parking, and great location!

The surrounding neighborhood is somewhat isolated - a little insecure for strolling the area. However, access to the Performing Arts Ctr., children's museum, library, etc. was excellent.

great view of the pool from balcany.big sreen tv and a comfortable bed .put them all together and thats all you need for a great stay +nights sleep.

The hotel was nice. The only problem was a water stoppage on Saturday. However the folks tried as much as possible to accomodate. Sunday morning I had to leave by 6:45 and there was no brekfast as it opens at 7am. This might be something you address. Thanks

$25 flat rate taxi fare from Tampa International airport.Convenient position for Downtown Tampa and Greyhound bus station. Excellent buffet breakfast.

Did not feel like a Marriott. Hotel was fine but just felt old and worn down.
