Das hotel war zwar am hw 101 gelegen, doch da wir eins der hinteren Zimmer hatten, war das kein Problem. Zu Fuß ist man innerhalb einer Minute in der old town von eureka und an der Bucht. Das Hotel liegt zwar etwas außerhalb, aber das Hotel bietet einen kostenlosen Shuttle-Service nach Oldsacramento an. Ein Anruf genügt und der Shuttle Bus holt einen auch wenige Minuten später wieder dort ab. Wir waren am Anfang etwas skeptisch wegen des günstigen Preises aber es war sauber und das Personal war sehr nett. Definitiv empfehlenswert!

Wir waren in West Palm Beach in einem Hawthorn Suites Hotel und es war super. Dementsprechend waren unsere Erwartungen bei diesem Hotel. Sie wurden in keinster Weise erfüllt. Das Wasser des Pools war nicht klar, das Geschirr im immer nicht richtig sauber, der Zimmerservice nicht gut. Mal wurde das Zimmer gar nicht sauber gemacht, mal wurde die dreckige […] Bettwäsche auf dem Boden im Zimmer vergessen. Sehr schade. Mehr

The staff were courteous, patient and accommodating to me and my family. We felt at home away from home and didnt want to leave. We stayed close to my daughter's pageant but I will stay there again for just a mini-vacation. Thank you!

My bathtub wouldn't hold water for a bath. There were some sketchy people all around the hotel. I hope my car is safe for 1 week there. A little worried for my safety as a single woman, but it was quiet and cool at night. Airport shuttle was on time & courteous.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We did have a little trouble getting in with the door locks, however everything else was excellent!

The hotel was pretty dumpy...smelly, musty hallways and bare minimum in the room. Get what you pay for. We needed a hotel near the airport with a shuttle. We were only there from about 10pm-4am, so we weren't there long. if we're in the area again I will try to find somewhere else to stay.

This place is really large. There are 3-4 buildings of rooms. It is right off Interstate-5 and there are a handful of other hotels (like the Ramada) on the same street or within 1-2 blocks. We stayed one night in a room with two queen rooms. The best thing was the space for the price. There was a fridge, microwave, storage, a kitchen table. Great space. […] The location, maybe because it seems like this is a stop right off the 5, is not great. It's fine right where the hotel is, but the general vicinity is nothing to write home about and the Discovery Park surrounding area is a little dodgy. That wasn't too important to us. However, it was a busy place and our room faced the parking lot. There was a lot of noise that kept me up. There was a high school basketball team that stayed at the same time as we did. Although nice, we did have to tell them to keep it down. There was a lot of foot traffic outside our door and voices. The parking lot seemed to have a lot of action. I was awaken at 1:30 a.m. by a loud car stereo sitting outside waiting for someone. There was a motorcycle that went by. This may be part and parcel for the location, I don't know. It served our needs for one night: clean, spacious, free decent breakfast, and inexpensive. I would not be interested in staying there for an extended stay due to the noise and the questionable surrounding area. Mehr

Overall, the room was clean and the customer service was great. The hotel needs some upgrade.

Very nice room, comfortable bed. Only complaint was poor hot water pressure in shower .

Overall the hotel room was huge for the price. However there was stains on the pillows, the light was out in the bathroom, had to use the heat lamp for light. The light switch by the front door controlled two different outlets, not just the one the light was connected to, so my laptop ended up using up all it's juice through the night instead of ch […] arging. Nice room, nice linens, good size room. Full breakfast was a bonus!

Everything was good but... Had to call for towels twice and they never came.

The hotel staff was a gem. They excelled in customer service. I will stay at this hotel again.p

Definitely ask to stay close to lobby. Walked thru some of the other buildings on way back to our room and the hallways smelled not so good. Breakfast area was super nice and clean with standard continental breakfast.

The room was nice. The bed was wonderful. There were some broken things in the room we noticed upon arrival. Good for a budgeted stay.

Hot breakfast buffet was excellent. Staff was friendly, responsive, and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Very satisfied. Thinking of returning for a cycling weekend simply because it is close to the local, extended bike path.

If you live north of Sacramento, and don't need to go downtown to the Capitol, or some where near there, then this is a great place to stay and avoid the congestion in and around, the Capitol. The suite had everything you would want in a place you were staying in multiple days or if you were on the road for multiple days.

The hotel was wonderful and so was the staff!

The only real drawback was some of the carpets in the hallway were stained. The room was comfortable. The cover sheet on the bed was weird. Plenty of room for my family of 3. There is a nice little fridge and microwave area. A few different restaurants were either on property or across the street. The breakfast selection at the buffet was very good. […] If I have a reason to go to downtown Sacramento again and need a hotel room, I will definitely consider this hotel. Mehr

THE COST OF THE ROOM IS FAR WORTH IT. THE BREAKFAST IN THEM MORNING IS GOOD, THE BEDS ARE COMFORTABLE, AND THE ROOMS ARE CLEAN. THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE LOBBY BY THE BIG FIREPLACE IS RELAXING, LIKE HANGING OUT IN A CABIN. THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOOD IS KIND OF RUN DOWN BUT NOT SCARY, NO ONE BOTHERS YOU. I HAVE STAYED THERE 3 TIMES […] IN THE PAST FOUR MONTHS AND WILL CONTINUE TO STAY IF THINGS CONTINUE TO BE AS THEY ARE FOR NOW. Mehr

There was a loud private party at the pool still going on at 1am. Management offered to give me another room. I did not want to move. I wanted peace and quiet. Not customer service oriented.

Can't beat it for the money!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room decor was outdated but the room itself was very spacious. The common areas had stains on the carpets but everything was kept clean and well maintained. The location was convenient to downtown Sacramento. The complimentary breakfast was good (although the scrambled eggs were too overcooked to my liking). This is a perfect choice, close to downtown and arco arena. I would and will stay here again worth every penny. Clean nice rooms, great morning breakfast area and staff was very nice.

If you like old western times..this is the place to go..If you like eating and shopping...must visit the K Mall and other stores. If you like good seafood..uhm right across the street..just a short quick walk..

Our stay at Hawthorn was extremely pleasant. The staff were more than willing to answer our questions about the surrounding area and gave us good directions on places we wanted to visit. Hotel is convenient and located a block from freeway. Parking is a little bit of a pain if you arrive after seven o'clock. Breakfast buffet is more than decent. Dislike not receiving a copy of the bill. Have to get it from hotels.com

According to front desk, the hotel was full for New Year's Eve but check in was fast and easy, receptionist was nice, and I was lucky to find parking near my room. There was a no partying/excessive noise contract which I thought was funny but understandable. I had a second floor, corner room with double beds. Microwave and refrigerator were a plus […] for NYE dinner leftovers. Decor, carpet, tv, bathtub are outdated but overall, the room and more importantly the bed was clean and mildly comfy. As a personal preference, I try not to go barefoot in hotel rooms, and the carpet here was no exception - clean but outdated/worn. Easy solution: bring slippers! Hawthorne is great for the price, value, and location. Complimentary continental breakfast until 9am but I didn't check it out. FYI housekeeping will start pounding on doors at ~10am to make sure the NYE late-nighters and the hungover are up and out by 11am. Comfortable stay, would recommend, but don't expect anything fancy. The bed was comfortable and room was reasonably clean. I chose a non-smoking room. As far as I could tell the entire floor of the wing I was in was non-smoking. However, at any given time the stairwell and landing had smokers puffing away night and day. The smell penetrated my room detracting from my stay.

Not new but very nice. Great complimentary breakfast in the morning and full bar at night. Fun room with king bed and kitchenette. Really enjoyed our stay.

The room was very clean and large. We loved the mini kitchen!! My only complaints are there is no bath tub, shower only, and our heater didn't work so we were very cold all night.

The room was nice and beds were comfortable. The staff is very nice and accomodating. The outside area has homeless people around, but they mind their own business.

This was a gem among a bunch of low priced motels in the area. Clean large rooms, great breakfast, convenient parking and walking distance to both the Sacramento River and the American River.

Had a great stay. The breakfast was wonderful. Lots of variety, fresh and plentiful!!! Room was old but clean. Bed was very comfortable. Lots of homeless people wandering the street in front of the property but that's just CA. I was awakened by a couple having a fight outside at 4am but called the front desk and they responded immediately. None of these […] things were in their control. I would be happy to stay here again. We stayed overnight here while we were visiting relatives in Sacramento. The location is great - close to both 5 & 80 freeways but not so close as to be noisy. The lobby, breakfast and bar area has a nice atmosphere complete with a fireplace. There is free wine and beer during "Happy Hour" every evening.
