Hyatt Place Austin/Arboretum - Austin

When we arrived on site at approximately 11:30 PM, we were told that the king room we PAID for was not available, all that they had were rooms with 2 double beds but we could check with the front desk the following day to see if a king room can available. I stated that I would not want to move once we were in a room. After explaining that we did not […] reserve the room, we actually paid for it via hotels.com and stating that we called much earlier that day to inform the staff that we would be a late arrival, the front desk agent was able to locate us a handicapped room with a king bed. This was appreciated. Once we were in the room for a bit, we realized that the a/c was not cooling properly. We thought maybe we were wrong. With a very busy day planned, we did not have an opportunity to speak with the front desk the following morning but upon our return that night, with the a/c running at 70 degrees all day, it was still not cooling. So, at 10:00 the second night we had to move to a different room. Both front desk agents that we encountered were very helpful, just poor circumstanes. Mehr

I was amazed at the beauty and amenities available at this hotel. And the room! Spacious, comfortable, with real glasses and coffee mugs. And the price was perfect!

The room was a extremely warm and there was nothing that the so called front desk did about it. The bath tub had a mat in the bottom and there was rotten mildew underneath the mat. I asked to have my tub cleaned at 445 and when i got back to my room at 11 pm the tub was still not cleaned. I could not get comfortable in the room because it was so hot. […] This is Austin, Texas the room should get colder than 76 degrees Mehr

Always one of our favorite hotels, and thanks to hotels.com they had a great deal, on a hotel we usually can't afford....comfortable , clean, and a safe area....

Extremely slow Internet. No drink or snack machines. Made to order breakfast seemed to be pre packaged. Employees were well trained. That appeared to be the only thing that was Hyatt quality. All in all, this is not the type of Hyatt one expects!!

The hotel is located in a great area surrounded by some stores as well as restaurants including a Dave and busters for the kiddos! The room was better than I expected! It was very spacious! It felt like a little apartment! Temp control settings in room was also amazing! will definitely be coming back to this hotel for any future visits to ATX...

very comfortable beds very basic breakfast and a smaller tv would have been nice for the kids to use. An indoor pool would be wonderful. Mostly it was wonderfull quiet and peaceful and staff was helpful in helping our guest find a room at last minute also. Would stay again no problem!!!!

Very spacious rooms. Very clean. Nice television with multiple inputs for various electronics.

The area was nice and the room was great! There was plenty of room and we had five adults in the one room. There was alot of space in the desk, fridge and sofa area. There was plenty of room if you needed a travel baby bed. The sofa was so comfy that my son (6 feet tall)slept on it without opening it up. The sofa seated all five of us nicely and the […] large TV was on a swivel so you could watch it in bed or from the sofa. It was very clean and comfortable. The ac cooled the room off in a few minutes. We were all very comfortable and would definitely stay there again. Mehr

Hyatt Place hotels are one of my personal favorites in the mid price range. My (very picky) wife likes these as well when we don't stay at a Westin or Hyatt hotel. The hotel is conveniently located to highways, restaurants and shopping at the Domain and convenient to the West side of Austin. The provided breakfast is fine for us as we are usually light […] eaters. More substantial food is available for purchase and is typically ok though I would go elswhere if I wanted something more than a quick continental breakfast. Mehr

The room was wonderful- clean, very comfortable, and spacious. The staff friendly and helpful! The location close to everything and access to highway easy. Great stay!

A lovely hotel that felt cozy and comfortable. Staff was exceedingly gracious from the cleaning staff to the front desk. NO COMPLAINTS

We were very pleased with our stay here! The staff was friendly, the room was a great size, and everything was super clean! What more could you ask for?! Closer to North Austin, there are many things to do in the area. Would definitely recommend!!

I had a great stay at the Hyatt Place Austin/Arboretum. The room was very comfortable and the free continental breakfast was very good. Easy on/off from Mopac and a great price.

Besides a wonderful room with great comfort, I must remark on the staff. I was there for several days and every single staff member was exceedingly gracious and helpful from the maid who cleaned my room daily, to the desk staff who handled my senior moment with skill and a smile.

Whats not to like about this hotel. Great staff, spacious room with sitting area and dek. Free wifi, coffee and cocktail counter, dining kiosk with pastry case. Wouldnt hesitate to stay here again. Would choose this location over North Central because of better proximity to dining and shopping.

Our room was quite nice and the large screen TV a plus. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The only minus in our stay was that if someone is trying to sleep, the lighting for the vanity is quite bright. However, the layout of the suite is also very useable with the couch, desk, and coffee maker. I will stay in this hotel again. Very courteous staff […] and good breakfast. Close to other Arboretum area hotels, this Hyatt is probably the best option other than the expensive downtown Austin hotels, if you don't mind driving a bit further north..

It was a very impressive hotel for the price! The only down side was the beds, they were extreamly uncomfortable.

This hotel was nice, however I wish they had a better breakfast. The room was comfortable, although maybe a little expensive if just staying one night and not being in the hotel most of the time. I liked staying here and it was close to everything we wanted to do. It was a good night's rest.

I arrived tired, late at night, after having trouble finding the hotel. When I got to my room, it was occupied by someone else and dirty with wine glasses and dirty towels and unmade bed. I called the front desk and they told me to wait there, as they would immediately bring me a new room key. 15 min. later, I had to return to the front desk and found […] the hotel rep laughing with 3 guests at the bar. At breakfast, they had NO coffee for 30 minutes with a full lobby. Mehr

This hotel is in a great location. However, the room we were in was a huge room with a TINY bathroom! I mean, the door wouldn't open all the way!! It really was ridiculous. The light in the bathroom also turned on a loud fan with the light. The room had a living room that was huge with a large amount of wasted space. That space could have gone to the […] bathroom!!! Also, no bathtub. Shower only. Oh, and the lobby smelled really bad. We won't be staying here again. Mehr

For starters, there's no such thing as room service here. Which I'm not sure if that's a Hyatt thing, or just from this location, but you go to the lobby and enter a dining room called a "galley" I believe it was, and input your order on a terminal. After which, you wait about 20 minutes for it to be ready, and then take it to your room or eat it there. […] Aside that, the hotel is nice, the room has a great layout, and everything was fine except.. The room was covered in dirt from someone's shoes. Looked like they took a trail from the door to the AC and back out, leaving a trail of crusted dirt everywhere. This wasn't noticed until we stepped on it barefooted on the carpet, and needless to say, a tremendous amount of additional chunks of dirt were already demolished into pieces all over the carpet. I was most pleased with our stay at Hyatt Place. Hotel was very attractive, room very comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfast very much. Excellent coffee! Staff very friendly and helpful - above average in fact! Fitness room was very nice. Pool was nothing special but was adequate. We did order the a la carte eggs on our last day and found them to be […] very good, if a tad overpriced. Worth it for the convenience though. Will definitely be back! Mehr

I've been to a few other hyatt place hotels and this is one of the better ones, it was located within a few miles of the locations I needed access to and was close... Very close to some great restaurants and stores. Even though I only stayed for one night it was great! The rooms were nice and quiet even though its smack dab next to a highway and the […] staff was super friendly even though I used the kiosk to check in and out they still acknowledged me which was unexpected but a warm welcome! I used the express check-in at the door to receive my room key. Opened the door to the room to find another guest already in my room. She said housekeeping let her in because her key did not work. Come to find out that she was let into the wrong room. The front desk staff didn't seem to care. If housekeepers are letting guests into rooms based on "my […] key didn't work," you should be very careful not to leave valuables in your room. Mehr

Very nice. Friendly staff. Just ok on continental breakfast - no meats, biscuits, waffles. Did have bagels and English muffins, cereal, fruit. Convenient to shopping in northwest Austin. We will stay here again!
