We upgraded upon arrival to a harbour view but were a bit surprised as its a harbour and motorway view so a little disappointed, however it was good to have the room when there was a fireworks display on the Saturday evening over Darling Harbour.The hotel was very clean and comfortable although the decoration needs a bit of updating and the bathroom […] a bit outdated. I couldnt fault the hotel, everything was perfect, although I thought a little expensive,If you are fit, well and healthy it was walking distance to cockle bay, shops, bars, resturants etc, but I had my 78 yo mum with me and she found it was a bit of a struggle to walk up the ramp and over the walkway on her walking stick to get anywhere for a meal, […] etc. Mehr

I've stayed at Parkroyal for little over a week while I was in a business trip. The hotel is located within walking distance to the CBD but has plenty of amenities nearby (Darling Harbour's restaurants, Chinatown, Queen Victoria Building: all within less than 10 minutes away). I was mostly impressed but the service provided, all staff was very attentive […] and friendly. Free membership entitles you to complementary wifi (good speed)... I was fortunate enough to spend 4 days at the Parkroyal Darling Harbour to celebrate my birthday. Our intention for coming to Sydney was to climb the Harbour Bridge and spent lots of time dining at Darling Harbour. In terms of location, the parkroyal is faultless. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, being absolutely spoiled for choice in […] the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend the restaurant in the Parkroyal, both my partner and I had what was possibly the best cooked steak either of us have had. My daughter and I had the best time, we went to the Lyric theatre to see Annie and had the best time, the staff at the Hotel where very friendly and helpful to first time visiters to Sydney, the Hotel is located close to everything, when my husband is able to fly we will stay at The Park Royal Hotel.

The staff were very helpful but our room had a number of issues... Shower leaked to the point in was running out bathroom door. The fridge froze all of the drinks and smashed them. For the price we were not overly impressed and parking costs were very expensive. Will not stay here again and wont recommend it to any one.

We were given an upgrade and the room was beautiful and very quiet. The bathroom was very easy for my 85yr old mother to manage safely. This is often a concern when travelling with elderly folk. Easy checkout and valet parking meant I could concentrate on caring for mum. The concierge gave good advice on arranging a taxi to get us to a concert at the […] Opera House on time. Cannot fault the service. One thing! if using sat nav - put in Bathhurst St as the cross street. A lot of confusion about getting to the hotel! The concierge saved us : ) Mehr

Close to Darling Harbour, restaurants etc which is good because breakfast in hotel texpensive. Clean and well maintained hotel which makes for a very pleasant stay.

The hotel was very nice and was centrally located; the staff was knowledgeable and attentive. We have a spectacular view toward the water, which was amazing. Our biggest problem was that the Internet connection was completely unreliable. We called several times to find out what the problem was and they always told us they were looking into it, but the […] problem wasn't either not fixed or it would work for 10 minutes and stop again. Good sized room and convenient to Darling Harbour and Town Hall. Nice smell in lobby similar to aftershave.

4 of us spent 3 nights. We were 5 minutes from the harbour. 5 minutes from Paddy Market. Reasonably priced for the location. Consierge desk was very good with restaurant and transportation info. Close to many great restaurants, water taxis, etc. Rooms were very clean. I would stay there again.

Old and tired, plus no swimming pool or spa - not good enough for 4 stars!!

On checking in we found that we had been given a free upgrade. We were pretty excited about this as it was the first time ever we have received an upgrade. Room was spacious and comfortable and the hotel was in easy walking distance to Darling Harbour attractions. Staff were very helpful with any enquiries we had.

We had some flight issues which caused us to arrive early in the morning, the day after our reservation. When I called the hotel to let them know about the delay, the desk clerk was very friendly and went as far as to do a pre-check in for us. When we finally arrived, our check in was painless and fast. The concierge service was great too- they pointed […] out the best locations to eat nearby, gave us directions, and set up our shuttle to the airport for the following day. The hotel room was nice- clean, large, big tv, wireless and ethernet, shower stall and bathtub, and a fridge. There was a charge for the internet use, but because I was a member (even though it was my first stay), they offered to waive the charge fee. The location was very central- really close to the harbor and shops. We would definitely stay here again! Mehr

Are you looking for a central location with most attractions in Sydney within walking distance, go for Parkroyal at Darling Harbour. You will get a high quality hotel with a superb location for a fair price.We stayed 2 nigths with 3 teenagers and used the hotel as platform for our Sydney visit. Just across a walkingbridge you will be in Darling Harbour […] with its huge numbers of restaurants and cafes. Take the opportunity to visit Chinese Garden for Friendship - it is wortwhile. Within 10 minuttes walk you will find China Town, Queen Victoria Building & Town Hall, Hide Park or Paddy Markets. Are you traveling with smaller children you will find a great play ground just 5 minuttes away by crossing the walkingbridge to Darling Harbour. We found the breakfast pricess too high 25-35 AUD but you can find a lot of fine alternatives close by in the harbour area. Mehr

The hotel was so close to the harbour...we had a 5min walk to most activities and transport. It was clean, quiet and staff were friendly. Highly recommended!

I booked this hotel with promotion. When I mentioned that I would like a room with Darling harbour view, they upgraded our room for free. The hotel smells really good, and the room condition is brilliant especially the bath room! I had bath 2 nights in a row! the location of the hotel is great as well, we can reach darling harbour, QVB in 5mins walk, […] and Chinatown in 10mins walk. How amazing it is! The only problem is the TV in my room didn't work. But they gave us $20 reduction because of this. I love this hotel!!!! Mehr

This is as close to a perfect hotelstay you ever can get. Nothing to complate about.

Very convenient to Darling Harbour and all the cafes around Cockle Bay. Also very close to Town Hall train station.

Bed was too hard. Windows do not open, no fresh air. Noise from connecting room...could hear what people were saying! Could smell food cooking, especially early in the morning. A three star hotel only.

I chose this hotel with a little bit hesitance however its proven very good. I stayed for 3 nights with a bunch of my VIP customers and everybody was happy. I believe it is a good value for the money. The hotel staff is helpful, the rooms are new in condition and cost is good.

Very very dissapointed the motel didnt have a working hairdryer in the room, and we were in a rush to check out on our way to the airport. It is the first time ever i did not bring my own hairdryer believing the four n a half star motel i had booked would surely have one

I was exapecting a lot from Parkroyal, as it is marked as a 4 1/2 star hotel. In my opinion it is a bit overrated. My room was comfortable and spacious, but there was no empty drawer to store shirts and other clothes. I would expect some more storage space from a 4 star hotel... It is unusual that there are no brochures about hotel facilities (where […] is breakfast served, where is the gym,....) My room was on level 2, meaning that I was facing an old building on the other side of the road. I could not get any glimpse of the harvour in any direction. I think it is possible to see the harbour only from few selecteed rooms on the top floors. The harbour was not far from the hotel, but it reuiqred a 5 minute walk which included crossing busy roads or taking a small detour to take a long pedestrian bridge. I did not consider this hotel particuarly good value for money, as I stayed at other hotels facing Darling Harbour in the past and had better experience. Mehr

I stayed at Park Royal Darling Harbour for 2 nights with my girlfriend. We stayed in a twin room which was clean and provided us with everything we needed for our 2 night stay. I was in Sydney for my friends Hens weekend and chose the Park Royal because it was within walking distance to all activities that were planned for the weekend. It provides […] a great location for access to both Darling Harbour and the CBD for shopping. We walked everywhere. The staff were helpful and friendly at all times. I used the valet parking for the 2 nights as I was not needing my car while I was there. Some might say the price was a little steep but I knew my car was safe. On arrival I handed over my keys as my room was not ready yet as I arrived early. I came back a few hours later. My bags had been removed from the car and they were in my room waiting. The day of checkout I was able to leave my bags in the room and have them put in the short term storage bay until I wanted to return later in the afternoon to collect them and pick up my car. Admittedly 2 bags were missing but after a quick search they were found in the room and as we had been left waiting we were given vouchers for wine to compensate for the time spent waiting, which was only 5 minutes. If I had to make a complaint it would be that the lifts were playing up a bit at the time and it would sometimes go up when we had pressed to go down. Not a great thing for me as I am claustrophobic and don't like lifts at the best of times. Was not a huge issue as it happened only a couple of times. I would stay there again and plan a romantic weekend away with my husband soon. I will for this pay the little extra for a water view room. A fantastic weekend was had. I wouldn't pay for water views if you are not planning on spending alot of time other than sleeping there(which we basically were). The room was comfortable, plenty big enough, beds were comfy too... Enjoyable stay...large room overlooking Darling Harbour with lovely views, especially at night. Close to all attractions and city centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast selection was excellent. Nice hotel and would return anytime.
