Das Mediterranean Inn liegt etwas außerhalb des Zentrums Seattles in der Nähe des Seattle Centers (mit Space Needle). Es ist bequem per Bus (tageszeitabhängiger Preis zwischen $2,25 und $2,50) zu erreichen. Gleich nebenan ist ein Starbucks, dessen Kaffeeduft in die Lobby des Hotels zieht. Unser Zimmer war mit einer Mikrowelle, Spüle und einem Kühlschrank sowie großen Flachbildschirm ausgestattet. Leider hatte es keinen Safe, was aber nicht schlimm war. Das Bad war sauber und groß. Leider ohne Fenster. Der Ausblick aus dem Zimmer ging in den Innenhof des Hotels. Schade aber nicht so schlimm, denn die Dachterrasse des Hotels erlaubt einen Blick über Seattle. Die Angestellten des Hotels machten einen netten und hilfsbereiten Eindruck und haben uns auch um 4 Uhr morgens bei unsere Abreise geholfen. Das Hotel verfügt über WLAN und ein Business Center. Das WLAN ist für $5 pro Tag nutzbar und kann mit einem Fahrradausleihprogramm (in Summe $7,99) kombiniert werden. Im Sommer bestimmt sehr sinnvoll. Das Business Center ist kostenlos nutzbar (ebenso wie die Drucker und Faxgeräte darin). Außerdem verfügt das Hotel über einen Fitnessraum und diverse Münzwaschmaschinen und Trockner). Noch etwas zur Umgebung. In unmittelbarer Nähe (3-5 min zu Fuß) sind diverse Restaurants, Kneipen und auch ein Kino. Ebenso wie ein Safeway Supermarkt.

Komfortable großzügige Zimmer, unseres mit komplett eingerichteter Küche. Sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet mit Obst, Joghurt, Müsli etc. Minishop und ebenfalls ein kleiner Starbucks sind auch im Hotel vorhanden. Die Lage ist der einzige Minuspunkt für uns gewesen, da sehr weit vom Innenstadtbereich entfernt (zu Fuß ca. 25 Minuten). Ebenfalls direkt an der Interstate gelegen, somit 24 Stunden die Autos zu hören.

Die Vorzüge des Hotels sind eindeutig: 1.) Die ausgezeichnete Lage für Reisende die möglichst schnell (ca. 200 m zu Fuß) vom Hotel bis zu Check-In Schalter kommen möchten. Wegen der Kürze des Weges geht das sogar zu Fuß bei Regen ohne Schirm! 2.) Die unmittelbare Nähe (ca. 250 m) zum LightRail Link zwischen Flughafen und Seattle Downtown, wobei die Tageskarte ca. 5$ kostet. Fahrtzeit ca. 35 Minuten. Ansonsten war das Hotel älter in der Ausstattung (ungefähr 70er Jahre Bauzeit) mit einigen Upgrades (z.B. zwei neue Flachbildschirme). Das Standard-Zimmer (Bad, Schlafzimmer, Auftenhaltsraum) war sauber. Die Lounch und der Frühstücksbereich des Hotels gepflegt. Das Frühstück war hingegen nur Durchschnitt, so daß man eher in Seattle Downtown frühstücken möchte. Der sehr Nahe gelegene Flughafen bietet diesbezüglich auch nur wenig an. Einzige Kritikpunkte meines Zimmers auf der Seite zum Flughafen war der laute Straßenverkehr des 'Internationl Boulevard' for dem Hotel (der Fluglärm hingegen war gut erträglich). Und die Klimaanlage, welche in Seattle aber selten nötig wäre, wenn man das Fenster öffenen könnte. Das ging zwar mechanisch problemlos, aber bei dem Straßenverkehr-Krach ... Ich würde das Hotel dennoch weiterempfehlen. In der Summe war es rund.

Die Innenstadt von Seattle erstreckt sich entlang des Puget Sound vom historischen Pioneer Square im Süden bis zum schicken Belltown im Norden. Dazwischen reihen sich Bürogebäude, Einkaufsgalerien und Apartments in Backsteinhäusern an den grünen Boulevards aneinander. Hier befinden sich das Kongresszentrum und Pike Place Market, wo Lachse fliegen können. Gäste sollten auch unbedingt die futuristische öffentliche Hauptbibliothek besuchen. The Inn at the Market is a great choice if you plan to visit the major tourist attractions in Seattle without the need for a car. The hotel is charming, the rooms are comfortable and the service was very attentive. If you book here, try to request a room in the higher floors since the foot traffic around the market can be easily heard.

I was only at this hotel for 1 night, but wish I could have stayed longer. I was upgraded to a suite. It was a nice, big room with a deck overlooking the water. Plenty of restaurants and things to do nearby. Will be staying here again.

I have been wanting to stay at this hotel for years and finally had the opportunity to do this. My wait was rewarded by excellent service and comfort in this intimate hotel. Impeccable service and a great location next to Pike Place Market. Fifth floor terrace overlooking Puget Sound was a private haven. I look forward to returning to this hotel.

We've stayed at the Inn a few times, each time in the past was either a King City View or King Harbor View. This time we booked on a "Special" rate and got a queen room. We were very disappointed. The room was tiny and dark. Nothing like the rooms we had in the past. The King rooms were well worth the price, while the Queen room was not. We weren't […] even sure that the bed was actually a queen as it seemed to be more like a double. We almost couldn't tell it was the same hotel. We also found the housekeeping to be just passable this time, noting several failings in the daily service. It is worth noting that the hotel offered to switch us to a King room after the second night, but it would have been only for one night and we didn't want to bother with moving. Of course the location and convenience of this hotel and overall service can't be beat if you just want to bop around town. Despite the problems I experienced, I will always return to this hotel when I visit Seattle. Mehr

"perfect hotel for a perfect location"
You can not get a more convenient location than across the street from the famous Pikes Public Market. You can walk to all the major shops and restaurants in a couple of minutes. I only wish I had discovered the rooftop deck sooner so I could have spent more time gazing at the waterfront with my feet up!

Finally had a chance to experience pure luxury in D/T Seattle near the Market. Room ..... one word....spectacular. Booked the city view room but when we arrived we were upgraded to partial water view. We loved this hotel. It was exactly what we were looking for-an oasis close to the excitement of the market. We did not count on 2 cruise ships unloading on our 1st morning but we ran down to the market to get coffee and yummy pastries then ran back up to the awesome 5th floor rooftop garden overlooking the market and the sound. It was a perfect beginning […] to a great day. Although the cruise crowds mobbed the streets below, we were above it, observing and enjoying the day. We came to Seattle for our honeymoon. The staff went out of their way to help with any question regarding sites and restaurants. They even snuck into our room and brought us a card with cupcakes to wish us a happy honeymoon. The room was beautiful, spotless and the bed was fabulous!!! I can't wait to come back.

Overall, a great place to stay. Wonderful location. The only bad thing was that the air conditioner was located right next to the bed and blasted onto your face, even though they had placed a plastic shield to divert it. We ended up having to leave the window open all night so it wouldn't get too hot in the room - and so we were treated to street noises. The Inn at the Market is in a great location to soak up the atmosphere of Pike Place and is ideal for accessing downtown also. The terrace on the 5th floor has great views and also offers a haven away from the busy streets below - would highly recommend. The room itself was comfortable - nothing special but perfectly adequate. We did have a problem […] with the TV reception, which we didn't really follow up on as we didn't really spend time watching it. You are really paying here for the location, the terrace and the views. Given it's location, some street noise is inevitable, so you may want to bear this in mind if you are a light sleeper. Mehr

"Great place to stay"
This is a wonderful place to stay. The Pike Place Market is about 30 yards away and the fifth floor deck has great views of Elliot Bay. It is the perfect place to recap the day with a drink or two. Some reviewers have mentioned street noise as a problem. All I can say is it is no different than you would find in any big city. I travel quite a bit, […] and this is notg really a bother.. What a fantastic location. Right in the middle of Pike Place Market. A short walking distance from many other neighborhoods and the waterfront piers. The view from the 5th floor balcony balcony is breathtaking. Buy a bottle of wine, get some cheese and fruit from Pike Place Market, sit on the 5th floor and just relax. The staff was very friendly!

We stayed here before leaving on a cruise. The hotel is lovely and the service is exceptional. We could see the water from our room. It's just steps to Pikes market. I can;t imagine how this hotel could be any better.

We loved this hotel! We were upgraded to a water view without even asking. The views of the bay were amazing. We lucked out and had a clear view across the water to bainbridge island. The room was extremely clean and very spacious! The staff was friendly and we did not run into a single issue. I would stay here again when we come back.

"Lack of Tempurpedic Mattresses"
We were disappointed in the hotel because we had been told that they had Tempurpedic mattresses and we had gone there because we wanted to try out a Tempurpedic Mattress. (I even called the hotel directly to confirm that they had Tempurpedic Mattresses and was told that they did.) Otherwise, the hotel was good. Not sure if it is a nightly occurence, […] but we were awakened by a car alarm 6 times from 11 PM to 1 PM. (They need some sound silencing?) We had a good view of Elliott Bay. So, overall we had a pretty good experience. Mehr

This place is walking distance to anything downtown. The public market, belltown, pioneer square. The rooms are great and we got upgraded twice! I highly recommend this place if you can afford it.

"Great location, but a bit tired"
Although the beds are super comfortable, the upgraded room/suite I had was very dated and nothing special. Furthermore there was no central heating (only a wall unite) which meant you either overheated or froze during the night. Bathrooms although clean, very basic. ...the one good thing is it couldn't be more centrally located and you also have access […] to a fabulous gym, although that is an additional charge. Mehr
