Our room was comfortable enough. We had to put a pillow over the beacon of a clock radio, and the doors made a lot of noise shutting when let go (which most people seem to do - hello, born in a barn?). The parking could be scarce when an event was happening, and the whole valet area in front was closed off. The most cars we saw inside it was two. The […] buffet breakfast (included) was incredible: roasted potatoes, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese blintzes, cereal and fruit. Plus rolls, pastries, etc. Really good orange juice. The location is pretty good - a car is needed for pretty much everything, since it's a couple of miles from South Palo Alto and further to downtown. Just south, on El Camino Real is the best Chinese restaurant on the Peninsula: Chef Chu's. Mehr

The staff was friendly, and despite TWO major and potentially loud events going on, our clerk found us what turned out to be a very quiet room. The location was great for the things we wanted to do in the area. The room was spotless, the wi-fi quick and easy. I only stayed one night, but the staff was great, accommodation were nice and the hotel renovation was done well. The room was quiet. It was expensive for the area, and I had to pay for parking, which didn't thrill me, but what can you do. Would recommend staying there to others and would stay there again myself if required.

Loved it. Great views of the hills to the west and over the pool area. Very quiet. Desk staff very helpful and gave us a "free upgrade" to a great room in the tower. The toilet was broken and required several visits from the maintenance person. He never fixed it completely and didn't want to replace the toilet even though it was clear that that would have been the best way to solve the problem with the least amount of inconvenience to us. We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is really nice, up-to-date, rooms are comfortable. There is a nice bar area and restaurant, and overall there is a good feel to this hotel. Staff is great. The only negative thing we experienced was a non-stop whistle noise. We finally figured out it was coming from the AC. Something was broken. We were pleased with our stay at Crowne Plaza. It was very comfortable. We will stay there again when visiting Palo Alto. Next time I will request a different room because there seemed to be some machinery running at all hours behind our walls or coming through the ventilation - it was a bit disturbing at night. Arrived at midnight and checked in quickly. No problem parking in non-valet area that was right in front of hotel. Called maintenance one night on a plumbing issue and they responded promptly. Fantastic Thanksgiving day all-you-can-eat brunch that included champagne, shrimp, crab, turkey, etc. - waitress only charged us for two (we had four present) […] since she felt we hadn't eaten very much - a nice gesture. While it appears like it hasn't had a great deal of new renovation in the last few years, everything is extremely clean and comfortable. The $5 water made me chuckle in the bathroom, but I was very impressed at the sophistication and luxury for the less than expected price to stay there, especially in Palo Alto. Would absolutely stay there again.

Our stay here was ok. The beds and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable, though. And isn't that the most important part of the hotel room? The service was fine. Not spectacular, just fine. I asked for a room with a balcony and they were unable to accommodate me since they were full. There was a wedding going on, so it felt like you had to yield to […] them. The first night someone kept calling our room and hanging up about fifteen times. That was annoying. Not sure if I'd be back. Not exactly worth it for the price. Mehr

We ere not pleased wit hthe location of our room which entered from thre parking lot as if wwe were at a motel. That was terrible. The inside of the room and view of the pool was nice. I found the hotel perfect for fun or business in Palo Alto. My only suggestion to hotel is to make available a bare bones breakfast items starting at 6:00am for those needing to make early flights or get a jump on the day.

I was there for a funeral-from New York and was exhausted and came in very early--and they accomadated me and got me a room immediatly. I was pretty scattered and lost my room key and later my car keys and they helped me find them with great humor and very quickly. It is a funky little hotel--that I think was owned by Doris Day at one time. They are […] very proud that the Beatle's stayed there in 63. Overall the hotel is OK. The public spcaes are good... the bar, the breakfasy area, the lobby. The pool and hot tub are very good. The location is also very good. In my […] first room the airconditioner dripped in side and it made noise. In the second room, the airconditioner was very slow to cool the room and the drain in the tub came out. So overall, Palo Alto is expensive and this was the best choice under the circumstances. I couldn't afford $400 a night and I wanted the facilities (pool, bar etc). So this was OK. Mehr

Began my stay with a small hiccup. I booked the Cabana One-King-Bed Room on expedia, but only got through to them as Deluxe Room, so they assigned me to a Two-Queen instead. After I told them that I had booked a king, I was moved to an UPGRADED king the next day. Everything was perfect afterwards!

We were just staying in Palo Alto for the night and this hotel was exactly what we wanted. It was clean, quiet and had a great pool for lounging.

We spent three nights using this as our base for the bay area stop on our family(4) Highway 1 tour. The hotel and surroundings were perfect for winding down a bit at the end of our tour. Got some quite nice rates for the weekend+monday. Pool area and facilities very cosy, workout room ok, and room clean with everything you'd expect. Personell very accomodating. […] I think we chose the no-breakfast rate. When we arrived and found how nice it was, we immediately wanted to upgrade to breakfast included. They gave us that for free/said we had it included, and the breakfast was very good, though not available on Sunday, when they arranged a brunch instead. The brunch was rather costly so we did something else. The best hotel experience during our 14 day tour! Mehr

No fan in the bathroom made it difficult to style my hair and apply makeup after showering. The room was lacking natural light due to the beautiful foliage. More lamps would help . I also do not like to pay an extra 10.00 for parking in a lot that is not shared by any other businesses or street access. On the postive was great food, helpful staff and […] a lovely pool. Old building that is doing it's best to be upgraded. Not worth the week day rate but a a substancial saving on weekends. Give it a try. Mehr
