We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. We were delighted to be upgraded to a beautifully finished two-bedroom suite, which provided plenty of room for ourselves and teenage daughter.

Good location, colse to shops and restraunts, transport at your door.

It was a nice clean hotel and the service was very good. For a 4star hotel the gym and pool was good but the only fault was that it was in other building which made you walk out of the hotel and into the other building. Excellent location. Right in the heart of the city. short stroll to shops, restaurants, trams and Botanical garden.

Hotel is located right on Cathedral Square and is very convenient for Christchurch CBD Shops and restaurants. Issues at Check-in were dealt with in a kind of "This is always happening to us" manner but it is the hotel systems that caused the problem. No real apology was given for the delay at check in. Concierge team were more attentive and were quick […] to respond to requests for help or information. The Room (301) was huge, one of the largest I have ever seen and the king size bed looked almost lost in the middle of it. The appearance of the room was somewhat spoilt by the large roof beams and support column that dominated the room. No attempt had been made to decorate these to soften their appearance. (Even a couple of Pictures would have helped to break up the mass of white) Furniture and fittings are dated and in need of refurbishment. The Hotel, along with many Christchurch Businesses, has bird scarers fitted to balconies and roofs. The constant chirping of this device throughout the night did not assist a restful night’s sleep. Main Facilities, (Restaurant, gym, bar, etc) are in a separate building a short walk across the hotel concourse. We did not use any of the facilities other than the Bar. When we walked in, the Bar was unattended but there were staff in the Restaurant. After 5 minutes of waiting, and some polite coughing, no-one appeared and I had to go across to the Restaurant and request that someone come and serve us. Overall, the hotel is tired, with poor service levels and there is very little about it that can be recommended. Mehr

Easy to find as Cathedral Square stands out on a map, being at an angle to the street grid. Well located to get around on foot and there is free parking adjacent to the parks not far away so saving the parking cost. The adjacent ex-Gov building houses the restaurant where they serve an excellent breakfast.

There were 4 of us, and stayed in a one bedroom - 2 double beds. The room is modern, extremely spacious (can even fit 1 more king size bed there) and we had a beautiful view of the Christchurch cathedral and the mountains. Free wireless internet in the lobby, friendly staff, spacious bathroom and shower, and walking distance to restaurants, takeaways, […] shops, etc that are open til late. Smack in the centre of town. Will definitely stay again. It was way more than what we expected. Mehr

Great service from the staff. Very accommodating.

Excellent central location. Generally very happy with the hotel and service provided, the only negative was external noise at weekends, despite being on an upper floor.

This hotel is one of several around the city centre. The area it is in is near the city's landmarks.

Every staff member of this hotel delivered excellent service every day of my 5 day stay. With the exchange rate from the US dollar, this hotel was an outright bargain. Centrally located and easy to reach from everywhere in the city. Convenience and other stores were open late at night and the hotel was within walking distance of several nice restaurants […] (lots of Chinese restaurants close by) and a couple of blocks from the downtown night life scene. This hotel is ok and staff is very friendly. Rooms a bit worn and old it has seen better days.We were informed about an inroom safe but it was only included in the executive rooms. The gym was big with a lot of machines but no towels were available.

We stayed in the historic portion of the hotel (Old Govt bldg) and it had great character. It was beautifully restored, clean, spacious, and comfortable. The meals in the hotel were good, but not great. The location couldn't be better as it's right in the central part of downtown, so most things are within walking distance. このホテルに決めたのは、町の中心部にあり、どこにくにも比較的便利だったことと、日本人スタッフがいたことです。ホテルのすぐ近くに｢無料シャトルバスのバス停があって、歩いて５分くらいのところに｢バスエクスチェンジ「（バスセンター）があり、すごく便利でした。また、娘の｢誕生日のためのレストランを、日本人スタッフに相談したら親切にしょうかいしてもらいました。お手軽な値段で、おいしく、デザートもお誕生日プレート「にしてくれるところでした。レストランの予約もしてもらい本当にありがたく思いました。あと、ホテルには、コイン式の洗濯機と乾燥機が２台ずつあって、使用中で使えなかったということがなかったのでよかったし、大変助かりました。
