Gutes Hotel, in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Wallstreet , am südlichsten Ende des Broadway. Sehr nette Bedienung. Enges aber sauberes Zimmer mit zwei Kingsize-Betten.

Großes Zimmer, gute Betten. Bei Zimmern nach hinten raus kann man bei offenem Fenster schlafen. Internet fürs Zimmer zu teuer. Im Bad leichter Renovierungsstau. Frühstück im Hotelrestaurant empfehlenswert, sehr nette Bedienung. Infostand für Sightseeing im Hotel sehr gut. Karten tlw. kostenfrei. Mexik. Pub +Chinarestaurant ca. 200 m entfernt. U-Bahn ca. 400m weg.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel. Das Zimmer war sauber, zweckmäßig und der Service freundlich und aufmerksam. In direkter Nähe befinden sich viele Sehenswürdigkeiten (Stock Exchange, 9/11 Memorial, Trinity Church) und man erreicht 3 verschiedene Subway-Stationen innerhalb weniger Gehminuten. Außerdem die Fähre nach LongIsland bzw. den Anleger für die Boote zur Freiheitsstatue und Elis Island. Da an der Wallstreet Abends/ Nachts nicht ganz so viel los ist, kann man - für NYC-Verhältnisse - relativ ruhig schlafen, v.a. im Vergleich mit der Gegend rund um den TimesSquare usw. Ein kleines, aber feines, familiengeführtes (so schien es) Hotel, dass wir auf alle Fälle weiterempfehlen würden!
Im Juni 1012 erstrahlt The Roger nach umfassenden Renovierungen der öffentlichen Bereiche und der Gästezimmer in neuem, elegantem Glanz. Das elegante The Roger bietet das Beste aus beiden Welten: Ein Boutique Hotel fernab der Touristenströme und gleichzeitig eine gute Anbindung an die wichtigsten Attraktionen der Stadt. Das zwischen Downtown und Uptown gelegene The Roger befindet sich an der Madison Avenue at East 31st Street in dem großen Manhattaner Wohnviertel Murray Hill. Die Park Avenue ist nur einen Block entfernt und das Empire State Building liegt drei Blocks nördlich. "Mittelklassehotel in zentraler Lage von Manhattan"
Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal. Zimmer freundlich eingerichtet, mit Kingsize-Bett ausgestattet, Bad/WC gut. Frühstücksbuffet gut, aber sehr teuer. Gute Frühstücksmöglichkeiten und Subway Line 6 in der Nähe (östlich gelegen).

Wir als paar Anfang 50 wollten uns ein schönes Wochenende in NY City zur Vorweihnachtszeit machen. also buchten wir 3 Nächte im Roger Williams für das letzte november Wochenende. Wir waren schon mal vor einigen Jahren hier. es ist immer noch genauso gut. absolut ordentlich. Kompetentes und freundliches Personal (Rezeption ist manchemal etwas sehr professionell, […] also kühl), aber ansonsten absolut top. Wir hatten ein zimmer mit 1 Bett (Kingsize, unbedingt angeben), welches herrlich gemütlich war und mit richtiger Winterdecke bestückt war. Nicht diese dünnen amerikanischen Decken, die sich immer aufwickeln. Herrlich ruhig gelegen. absolut central. wir sind vom central park zu Fuß gegangen, also die ganze Madison Avenue runter, was ca. eine halbe Stunde gedauert hat. Also Top Lage. In der umgebeung kann man gut frühstücken, auch im Hotel (aber teuer!). Metro ist um die Ecke, bringt einen schnellstens Uptown und Downtown. insbesondere zu loben sind auch die absolut sauberen Zimmer, welche auch geschmackvoll modern eingerichtet sind. Irgendwie so Richtung japanischer Stil. gemütlich und modern. In der Lobby kann man gut relaxen und noch einen Kaffee trinken. Top aber teuer. Wir haben den Limoservice vom Hotel zum flughafen nach newark genommen. Für 80 Dollar kam eine Strech - Limo vorgefahren. Ein cooler Abschluß des Wochenendes. also : wir sind sehr anspruchsvolle Reisende - aber hier gibt es nicht zu meckern. Macht es einfach - NY ist super. Von hier aus zu starten ist optimal. Mehr

Das Hotel Roger Williams liegt nahe bei Empire State Building und ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um NY zu erforschen. Die Zimmer sind klein und eng, für zwei Personen gibt es einen Stuhl. Das Badzimmer ist absolut minimal: Kaum Platz, um sich zu bewegen. Die Zimmer sind sauber, die tägliche Reinigung und der Service ausgezeichnet.Die Bedienung an der […] Reception ist sehr unterschiedlich, von zurückhaltend, distanziert bis zu sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Tolles Frühstücksbuffet mit etwas ungepflegten, manchmal unapetitlichen, nicht sauber geputzten Tischen. Die Preise des Angebotes im Zimmer aus und ausserhalb der Minibar sind absolut überrissen!!! Da fühlt man sich geprellt, selbst das Shampo ist nicht gratis (nur eine kleines Seife steht unentgeltlich zur Verfügung). Das alles hinterlässt einen zwiespältigen Eindruck. Mehr

Nice staff, good location, reasonable price. Just be warned they charge a daily "fee" that you can't opt out of, so the price you are quoted is less than the actual cost of the room.

The hotel is refurbishing, hence the aircondition (warm and cold) is down. We were freesing our arses off. Only one elevator functioning during daytime. at checkout they w anted extra 25j USD per day for service? What service? Maybe the noice,the cold or...the one elevator???? A no no at the moment

At first glance, this is a grea hotel. Very small and cozy and tucked in the cute part of Manhattan but there was a lot of noise going on (about to start construction) and the mystery of no heat in the evening and hard to get hot water late in the day and the evening. "NYC Roger Williams"
Made reservations via HOTEL.COM; was not happy when I went to check in and found that I had to pay two hidden FEES.......$20 a for the use of WiFi and $20 a day for the use of the gym. If I know this before hand via HOTEL.COM at least I would have packed my gym gear and lab top. I could have use the $40 for a meal.

"Terrific Find"
The hotel was recommended to me by a friend knowing I prefer small, boutique hotels. Even though I arrived late at night, the staff was helpful and cheerful. The ambience is contemporary with many bright color accents. Add to this an excellent location and it would be hard to find a better place.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in december 2011, shared the room with 2 others. Rooms were a little small but clean. Hotel was close to alot of attractions and we walked everywhere. Very nice european style hotel...read small rooms but excellent breakfast and perfectly located. The down side was a very weak view from the room and the TV was kaput...so no NFL playoff joy.

Bright rooms and reasonable size. Stayed here last year but this time on checking-in was told that there was a daily charge of $19.99 for internet access & use of the gym. When questioned about this (as the facilities description on hotels.com mentions internet access but does not mention additional charge for this) the receptionist said it was not […] included in the original reservation price. Having not needed internet access or use of the gym during such a short weekend stay this should be an optional charge and not mandatory. V disappointed by this. Staff at check-in was not very efficient and had to ask for credit card to be returned. Mehr
For the past 2 years we have been searching for a hotel generally near Madison Park so that we might be close to the relative whom we visit. For price and location, Roger Williams is the best so far. Typically the rooms at other hotels are smaller and, at our price point, closer to the street noise. The hotel was very nice, great location, clean rooms and pretty spacious for Manhatan, friendly and helpful staff. The only downside was the bathroom. It was small but very nicely done. However it had a sliding door and both the sliding door and the wall separating the bathroom from the small entryway were made out of glass. There was etched film covering […] the glass so you could not see straight through it, but once the lights inside the bathroom were on... you did not have much privacy from the rest of your roommates. I wish the film they used to cover the door/wall was darker or at least more solid. With this said overal this was an excellent hotel especially for the price. Mehr

"Location, location"
I will simply say that location is the key to this hotel's success and attraction. In comparison to other hotels I've stayed at in other cities, this one was average. While the room was comfortable, the bathroom was something less desirable. The hot water in the shower would take about 10 minutes to come up, not to mention that the drain would constantly […] get clogged up. Also, I was surprised when checking out of the hotel with a 'service fee' that was supposedly added when booking through this website. "Anniversary stay"
For our anniversary, I wanted to bring my wife to a decent boutique hotel at an affordable price in a nice neighborhood. We were very pleased with the room; not huge, but who needs that? Bed, linens, bathroom all great (though it took a while for the hot water to reach our 5th fl shower). Initially, we were sent to a room that was not even put together […] -- the box spring was leaning against the wall! When we laughingly reported this, the hotel found the (computer) error, gave us another room, and comped us on brunch -- which was really superb! Mehr

this used to be a really nice hotel but I feel like theyve lt it go..My room smeeled really bad - damp and moldy. Plus they charged for EVERYTHING: a toothbrush, a razor...

The bathroom was extremely small, it had residential plumbing. We had to call twice in 3 days, plumbing problems. The cable didn't work on some channels. On check out we were told that there was a $19.00 fee per day plus tx for hotel upkeep. This is a Clip Joint!!!

The Roger is a nice hotel, spacious for NYC, the bathroom is tiny, but nice. There's next to no closet space & no drawers to put clothes away. The bed is comfy and the towels are soft. This is a nice hotel, close to Penn Train Station, Empire State Building and Time Square (all in walking distance). After booking online and paying taxes and fees we were hit with an addirional service fee at checkout.

We have stayed many times in various hotels in NYC. Hotel Roger Williams is the best. Fine workout facilities (not big but adequate), great breakfast and they allowed me to take a second plate to my room to eat while I worked, very fresh decor, well maintained, and very helpful staff at door, desk, and restaurant (which was open until midnight). If location is more important, choose this hotel. If comfort is the main creteria, do not choose this hotel as the air-con is very noisy and unbearable. Toilet vanity is so small that even the hotel's amenities could not find a proper space to place them on the vanity slab.
"A smart choice in an expensive city"
Hotels in NYC are very expensive. This hotel was very good value. It is small but it had eveything I needed. My room was bigger than expected although the bathroom was ridiculously small and I would have much rather the bathroom take up more of the total room and be a decent size. One of the reasons this hotel is generally cheaper than others is that […] they charge for EVERYTHING extra except wifi - right down to basic toiletries. If you are not going to be using these thing this property will still be cheap - if you indulge in their breakfasts, mini bar, robes, toiletries etc it will quickly add up. The hotel is in a good location for tourist activities - basically the closer to times square, the more touisty the areas. The staff were all excellent (particularly the door-men). It was a very pleasant, good value stay in an expensive city and I would happily stay there again if concentrating on touristy activities. Mehr
