La Quinta Inn Kansas City North - North Kansas City

Very pleasant staff. Good location, close to everything, nothing fancy but very comfortable.

We have stayed in La Quinta in San Antonio, TX, Wichita, KS, Kansas City, MO and Fort Wayne, IN on our way home from Mexico to Canada. The best was in Fort Wayne. We booked through Hotel.com because it had better rate $$ than booking online with laquinta.com. We would have booked with laquinta if you had matched the hotel.com rate.????

This hotel is located in a fairly industrial area, with train tracks being fairly close by. The trains going by were not a nuisance to us because they didn't seem to go by at night. The location of the hotel allowed for very easy access on and off I-29. The hotel staff were a little flustered as there were issues of rooms being assigned to new patrons […] when they were either still occupied or not cleaned yet. However, the staff resolved the issue quickly and called the room shortly after to check in to make sure the room was satisfactory. We were pleased to have a microwave and refrigerator at that price point and there was a nice, big desk for work and eating. Additionally, the free breakfast in the morning was also surprising at that price. The bathroom was small and a little dingy, and even though the rest of the room did not smell smoky, the shower curtain had a strong smoke smell. At that price, we just ask that a room be clean and feel safe. This hotel provided both of those things in addition to a few extras one would not expect to find for the price. I stayed at the hotel on a Thursday evening and evidently there was a concert that night. Yes the people in hallway late in the evening were loud. But that is somewhat to be expected and part of dealing with being in a hotel. My issue was with staff and their walk-talkies. My room was right next to the elevator. Three times that night 12:30. 2:15 and […] 4:10 someone got off the elevator and had a conversation with another staff member with the walk-talkie. Beep, chatter, Beep, chatter, Beep more chatter. That is what woke me up. I understand they need to communicate which rooms to be checking but there must be a way to turn the sound down on the phone. That is a basic function on any phone. I had no other issues with the hotel cleanliness or location. The staff just needs to be more aware. I can say it did not give me a good impression of the La Quinta hotels. That is something that the manager should be sure to point out to their workers. Mehr

The hotel room was okay. I didn't like how the bathroom was set up cause it was like a normal bathroom at home. I thought it was way too small. The add said breakfast included, but I have never been at any other Laquita were they just served waffles, toast, yogurt, and juice. They usually have meat, biscuits and gravy with a variety of cereals too. […] Needless to say I was very disappointed in their breakfast. The front desk people were really nice, but the housekeepers were so great. We stayed for 5 days and left some personal belongings on our bed the 2nd day. (Obviously I knew they would make the bed, they won't touch any of you personal stuff) They however used this as an excuse to only clean the bathroom and not take out all of the trash. Our room's sheets were never changed bed was only made 1 day, counters never whiped off, and the trash never completely taken out. Mehr

A great place to stay on our way to Mn from Az---gets us on the north end of town for leaving in the morning

This is an older hotel in need of a facelift. The hotel staff was very personable and most helpful.

We barely got any sleep for all the rucass above us . It finally stopped by 3 am. Will not stay there again because of that.

The room was great. It was comfortable. It had a desk with electrical outlets. It was clean. (except for some mold in the tub surround) It had a mini-fridge and microwave. It was for the business traveler! I had a very early flight the next day and went to bed at 7:30PM. I was awakened at 8:30PM!!!!! by the staff wanting to clean my room. No knock at […] the door - never mind it was 8:30PM. I was then kept awake a couple hours longer while they banged around in the rooms next to and above my room. Mehr

This hotel is great for the smoker, but not so much for the non-smoker. The entire hotel reeked of cigarette smoke, even in my non-smoking room. I would try to avoid this hotel at all costs unless it were the only place I could get a room. The bed was comfortable enough. The room needed a better vacuum job,

My girlfriends came in from out of town for a girls weekend and had no idea about the neighborhoods of Kansas City. We went to World's of Fun, which was only about 5-10 min away which was great. The neighborhood where the hotel was at made us feel like we were in the ghetto. We went shopping at Legends Mall which was about 20 miles west and we will […] definitely stay over in that area next time. The staff at this hotel was very friendly. We had a no-smoking room, but the hallway smelled of smoke, but that is probably from the workers since we were on the bottom floor near the laundry area. We also found a small bug when we went to iron our clothes and thought it was a bed bug but we researched it online and don't think it was. Nice staff, bad experiences! Mehr

I was there only a couple of days, the hotel is clean but the neighborhood doesn't look nice, but it's not unsafe as long as I could see... the Cost/Benefit it a little below the "Fair"

I was pleasantly surprised at the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, as well as the convenient location for the places and activities in Kansas City. The hotel was clean and nicely appointed and easy access to the freeway without the freeway noise.

too much money for this hotel

hard to sleep in mildew stench room. shower curtain was disgusting and caused entire room to reek of mold and mildew

Good value with very friendly staff making the difference. Breakfast was underwhelming and over crowded in a tiny room, but all in all a good experience.

I had reserved 2 non-smoking rooms with double beds. when I arrived I was told we had to have one smoking room. NOt happy! We did take a non-smoking room with a king but that was not the best. When I have a confirmation for the rooms I wanted, I expect to have those rooms.

Our stay here was clean, comfy, and affordable. The beds were soft and staff was friendly. Breakfast was a little skimpy, we would prefer more hot breakfast options. The fan in the shower room was noisy. It was a nice place to get some zzzz's!

Basically it did the trick with a clean bed and room. Clearly the hotel has seen better days and is in need of an update. The television was a little 25 inch and the picture was very dim. The parking lot was clean, but falling apart. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Nice room. Good breakfast-Including boiled eggs & make your own waffles, fresh fruit, etc. .Friendly Staff.. Convenient to Downtown.

nice clean room and hotel overall. wasnt far from downtown power and light district so cab fare was cheap. not to much to choose from on continental breakfast, but had good make-your-own waffles, and was pretty well in line with what other hotels offer in this price range. only problem was after midnite there was no food delivery in the area and not […] much to choose from as far as delivery in the area. luckily there was a dennys right beside hotel open 24 hrs. We were very pleased with this hotel. It was clean and well-managed and close to all we needed. The free breakfast had a good variety of items. I'd stay here again and recommend it to others.

There is construction on I-35, so you are unable to reach the hotel from the south; You have to drive to the next exit. This wasn't very convenient. Our room wasn't very clean either. :(

This hotel, was unfortunately in the middle of road construction, which is nothing they could help but would have been nice to have a blurb or hotel.com info that we would need to find a different route to get there since the exit ramp was closed. Check in staff was extremely nice, accommodated a request that hotels.com didn't get right. Super clean, […] very nice, looked brand new with one exception - the TVs. We had two rooms and both TV's were tube TV's (which you would not expect given the great look and feel of the place) and both had channels that had squiggly lines and fading in and out. Both TV's also had fading colors of green and purple like they were about to die out. Since we had the kids, and the one channel we could use for them was a bit off, we improvised but it was a bit disappointing. The other disappointment was that the A/C's only had one setting - the fan which was set to be on all the time, which I like to sleep with on would still kick off and on all night as if it was on auto. It stayed cool in the room, but the A/C kicking on and off was distracting trying to sleep. Other than that, the price was spectacular for the rooms we had, again - super nice and clean. The Service was great. The desk clerk even took time to find and print out the best directions to get from the hotel to our destination in Kansas City. The roads were bad because of construction at the interstate exit and we had to detour out of the way to get to the hotel. The air conditioner worked good and the beds were just average. For the price, La Quinta North Kansas City is not a bad place to stay. Continental breakfast was a plus. Location is not great as it is located in an industrial area, but it's close to the city. Unfortunately, during my stay there was freeway construction which made access from the freeway to the hotel difficult. Fairly clean hotel, but couldn't understand […] why room service didn't empty the trash cans in my room daily even after commenting about it to the hotel front desk staff. Recommend only if you're on a budget. Mehr

I loved the super soft beds and soft bedding. The location is great for the casinos. Resturants nearby.

Not bad place to say. There's a resturant that was near by for quick bite to eat. Didn't care for the comp. breakfast that much but it was sufficient for that is was low budget.. Would recommend it for anyone who goes here.

This hotel was very clean. Quick check in and the staff was so kind and extremely helpful. The front desk clerk wrote out directions to the I-35 on ramp to avoid some construction areas and included a map of Kansas with it. Parking lot was well lit and clean. A nice, clean hotel for the price. Hotel staff had my room key prepped and ready which made for a quick check-in. Close and convenient to Harrah's casino.

5 minuter till Downtown med Taxi, nära till motorvägen så man kan ta sig överallt enkelt. Personalen var trevlig, rummen var väldigt rymliga för att vara hotellrum i den här standarden, sängarna som normalt är stenhårda på budgethotell var bekväma och båda renlighet och fräshhet var förvånansvärt bra. Väldigt positiv helheltupplevelse, det enda negativa […] är läget (jämfört mot downtown) men i USA är det aldrig nära till nånting så jag antar att nära till motorvägen är rätt bra ändå. När dessutom frukost ingick så kändes det helt klart som att man fick betydligt mer än vad man är van att få när man betalar de här summorna för ett hotellrum. Mehr
