Insgesamt ist das Hotel etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Sehr hell hörig. Schlafen nur mit Ohstöpsel.

Das Einchecken ging hier reibungslos, schnell und unkompliziert. Das Zimmer entsprach auch unseren Vorstellungen und Erwartungen.

Dieses Hotel ist absolut weiterzuempfehlen. Es ist sehr schön gestaltet. Die Renovierung ist Ihnen 100%ig gelungen. Die Zimmer haben allen Komfort, Flatscreen, gratis WiFi, super bequeme Matratzen mit toller Bettwäsche. In diesem Hotel kann man sich wohlfühlen und auch längere Aufenthalte geniessen. Das King Kam wurde letzthin renoviert und die Zimmer sind dementsprechend freundlich, hell und sauber (Stand: Besuch Februar 2011). Es liegt mitten in Kona, gleich wo die Ironmen/women ins Wasser tauchen, um die Schwimmstrecke zu absolvieren. Ein ideales Hotel für solche, die nicht viel im Hotel sitzen wollen, sondern die Insel erkunden. Die Zimmer […] sind geräumig mit Sofa-Ecke, Falchbild-TV und sonstigen Annehmlichkeiten. Die Lobby des Hotels lässt noch ein Wenig an alte Zeiten erinnern, als das King Kam ziemlich heruntergekommen war: Die meisten Ladenflächen sind nach der Renovation noch leer. Bald wird aber ein Lava Java Cafe eröffnen! Das beste Cafe der Insel mit hervorragendem Frühstück und Spitzen-Kona-Kaffee. Auto-Parkieren im Hotel ist mit 10$ teuer, wie halt in ganz Kona. Das Hotel hat einen eigenen kleinen Strand, wenn man das so nennen darf... lieber mit dem Auto woanders hin fahren und die vielen tollen Strände auf BI geniessen. Mehr

Overall a nice hotel. My main destination was a boat boarded at Kona pier which was right next to the hotel. My stay was four days and this hotel suited me fine. I had a rental car and visited Volcanoes National Park one day 2 and the Waipio Valley on day 3. This hotel worked fine for a hassle free one stop stay prior to boarding from the pier. The location of this property was perfect for our stay. A beautiful view from our room. Service was excellent,with knowledgeable staff. Pool,beach,restaurants and shopping;all there right out your door. Park the car and leave it. We would come back.

Clean, friendly staff, room was nice with balcony. Breakfast was amazing, best omelette I've ever eaten, you sit with all the doors open looking at the water - nice. Pool area was very nice, small beach area, but very clean and well kept. We had dinner at the pool, the food was really good, and the lady who served us was fantastic! No complaints! The location is awesome....walking distance to many things in town. We had an ocean view room which was great but would probably upgrade to oceanfront next time. Definitely would come back here.

The sell some rooms as "partial ocean views". Our original room, had no discernable ocean view, but there was a dumpster and a parking lot. They moved us after we complained and put us on the street side, which was better, where you could see some water; but it hardly felt like a Hawaiian ocean experience. Other reveiws said they were still renovating […] the hotel. I called Hotel's.com and they assured me that the renovation was complete. This was true, but they were doing major renovation on the street and the sound of jack hammers lasted all day long. This place was a disappointment. Mehr

Great location, pretty hotel, friendly staff, rooms a little dated, we had a room with a carpark view, but for the price, great value. The buffet breakfast is fantastic with a lovely outlook to the ocean. Valet parking would have been nice, bit of a walk, but the hotel is not set up for that. Would definately stay again. Free wifi was good also.

Great hotel in a really good location. Service was excellent. Tour booking agent located in hotel. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Room was nice but a little cozy for four people.

This hotel had a beautiful remodel. Good food, good service and an ABC Store is connected. A rare sandy beach for Kona and a disappearing edge pool. The concierge was extremely helpful and I would recommend this hotel very highly. Housekeeping was fantastic, as we had two adults and three children in our room. Everything about this property was terrific. The location, quality, comfort, amenities, proximity to tourism sites, the restaurant (and proximity to many others), and the price made it a great choice for our four-night stay in Kona. We especially appreciated the private snorkeling area and outstanding swimming pool. The only thing close to a down-side […] is that parking is not free - but there were many other resort hotels in the area that were charging for parking as well. Great hotel, I may have found a new hotel in Kona, I travel here every 3 months. The wireless Internet was a bit sketchy but I may have needed to go done and get a CAT5 cable, it appeared they had a CAT5 Jack but I didn't tak the time to investigate.

This hotel with the very long name is now better known locally as the Courtyard Marriott, as the chain recently bought the hotel. It is very nice with a great pool and it's own small but private beach, which most of the hotels in the area do not have. Our room was just as advertised, a partial ocean view, and also had nice views of the street with its […] various bars and restaurants. King Kam was in a very convenient location because I did not have a car. I think they could make better use of their outdoor dining by providing a musician or nice background music and larger table candles. More chaise lounges with umbrellas would be nice and I think there should be a policy that guests do not leave their belongings on the chaise at […] 7:30 A.M. and not show up until 11:30 (how inconsiderate is that?) The hotel was newly renovated both lobby and rooms. Located within walking distance to shops, resturants and boat pier. Spent a day at the pool and beach very nice time. Went snorkeling in the little lagoon at the beach and saw many tropical fish. Next day took a whale watching boat right off the pier in front of the hotel, saw a couple whales and many […] dolphins and even a hammerhead shark. Kids loved it. Mehr

Really good location cor enjoying Kona.

King Kam was a buzz of activity - everything you needed was right there - restaurants, beach, fitness centre etc. It would be nice if there were more umbrellas at the pool. It would be nice if people shared the lounges and umbrellas instead of putting out their towels at 8 A.M. and not showing until 1 or 2 P.M.

We stayed in the hotel with our four-year old daughter. The rooms are big enough with very comfortable beds. We enjoyed the peoximity to the beach and a number of restaurants. The staff was helpful but (with few exceptions) lacking the friendliness I would expect from a hotel of that standard. This hotel is close to the Kona airport, 15 minutes by car from the airport. It has a ABC store inside open tili 11pm. And there are many restaurants and shop near the hotel. Also, there is tide pool so kids can enjoy so much!

Located right next to the beach and the waterfront. Close to everything. Nice hotel with everything you need. However, the front desk staff was rude and they surely didn't feel obligated to help the guests with simple problems like booking additional night etc.

Having survived the tsunami earlier this year, the staff are still finding their way and the front desk staff seemed a little overwhelmed when groups arrived to book in. If choosing to book an ocean front room also request the west tower as the rooms in the east tower have a varied view due to the road, large tree etc. The traffic noise would be less […] in the west tower. Don't expect assistance with luggage and car parking is an additional cost despite the very large car park. Walls are thin so privacy is not always ensured and enjoyment of your room may be spoilt by noisy neighbours, especially if they are jet lagged. Great location in terms of handy restaurants and shops. Mehr

The recent renovation of the King Kamehameha Hotel is still in the renovation phase as there was construction being done on the weekend just outside the pool area in the Spa. There was hammering and saw squelling while tryign to relax at the pool. The room was nice but the bathroom wasn't very clean. The bed was super uncomfortable. We enjpoyed the Hotel King Kameameha Kone while we were there. Itwas comfortable and clean.

This hotel is in a prime location right at the pier where the Ironman World Championship Race starts. We happened to be there one week prior, and it was really fun people watching. Very comfortable room, the whole place is being redecorated and updated after the recent tsunami.

I stayed at the Hotel for 5 nights and found it to be in a quiet area and found my room which was a partial ocean view room to be very comfortable. The surrounding area included 2 supermarkets and other convenient stores plus close access to Alii Drive and many fantastic restaurants. Would recommend staying at this Hotel.

This is one of the two nicer hotels that are within easy walking distance of Kailua-Kona. Other comparable or nicer hotels in Kona are out in remote resort land--a very different experience. The hotel used to be a bit tired/dated, but has been undergoing an updating. We stayed in one of the redone rooms--very nice / huge improvement. Lobby area with […] famed collection of Hawaiian artifacts is in final phases of repair from tsunami damage. Staff is very friendly, competent, helpful. Charming for a large-ish hotel. Does not have the grounds or amenities of the big--and more expensive--resorts, but in-town location more than makes up for that. Restored Heiau on the grounds is impressive and evocative. $10 parking charge is reasonable and convenient. Some rooms have great views, others rather bleak parking lot views. One minor gripe: the place where guests and some employees go to smoke is along the pathway from lobby to parking lot. If you are heading out or returning by car (which one generally does to explore the east side of the Big Island), you always have to pass through the cloud of second-hand smoke. Mehr

This hotel is in a great spot if you want to be within walking distance from the local downtown area. There were a lot of great places to eat, shop and have happy hour while watching a magnificent sunset. The hotel is still under construction from the tsunami but they are keeping it very clean and the workers try to stay away from the travelers. The […] one thing they could use is better places to eat and drink. That is my only negative about this hotel. The rooms are are newly remodeled and very nice. We had a room overlooking the ocean, it was wonderful. I would stay there again when I return to Kona. Mehr

We spent the 3 prior nights at a much pricier 'resort' up the coast, and actually liked this hotel better! The location, right in Kona, is fun and engaging. They have a lovely bit of beach, and a beautiful pool patio you can dine on overlooking the ocean at night. Breakfast on the deck was delightful as well.
