Molly Pitcher Inn - Red Bank

Das Molly Pitcher Inn liegt in Red Bank in Laufweite vieler netter Bars und Restaurants. Das altmodische Hotel hat ziemlich kleine Zimmer, die leider fast alle (wir hatten vier Räume zur Auswahl) neben einem Blick auf den Navesink River auch den auf ein hässliches Dach voller Klimaanlagen bieten. Entsprechend laut sind die Räume. Zumindest in der Hauptsaison […] sind die Zimmer den Preis nicht Wert. Das Personal war für us-amerikanische Verhältnisse ziemlich unfreundlich. Das Molly Pitcher scheint insbesondere im Sommer eine beliebte Hochzeitslocation zu sein, offensichtlich sind deshalb andere Gäste zu dieser Zeit nicht gerne gesehen. Mehr

Not really a business hotel but a fine older property. Grand place to stay with a lot of history. Very good food service operation.

Enjoyed our stay here. Staff was curteous and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Close to everything in Red Bank.

My closet is bigger than the standard room at the molly pitcher inn. Other than that, inn has a great location.

A great looking hotel and nice staff. Barely slept due to uncomfortable pillows and bed. People running through the halls at 2 and 3 am yelling and when told to front desk person the next day she did Apologize but never goof feared to get a manager to speak to as I am sure our complaint stopped at the front desk

Beautiful place, great comfortable beds. Great location. Walking distance to all of downtown (10 minutes). On the water.

This is a cute hotel and close to everything in Red Bank. The rooms are small. I was only there for one evening. I think it would be a great place to stay for a nice long weekend as it is close to many things in Red Bank. It was just what I needed and the price was just right.

Overall this hotel was delightful....fancier than we anticipated. The front desk staff were wonderful and very helpful at all times. We very much enjoyed the room and the food and would certainly recommend the hotel.

The room I had (single occupant / queen-sized bed) wasn't much larger than a walk-in closet. I was only there for 1 night, so it didn't matter that much to me. The dining room has a coat & tie requirement for men.

I really enjoyed are stay at the Molly Pitcher. We checked in on Thanksgiving morning and stayed one night. We drove from Virginia and arrived earlier than expected and they let us check in 3 hours early which was great. We were visiting relatives close by and the ability to check in early and freshen up was a big plus for us. The hotel is really pretty […] and we loved the bar and restaurant area. Although our room was small, we really did not spend much time in the room and spent more time at our relatives. The small room was mitigated by the wonderful atmosphere of the hotel lobby, bar and restaurant. We went down for breakfast the next morning and had a great buffet. It seemed like Santa's elves had come over night and decorated the place as it was gorgeous to see the Christmas Tree in the lobby the next day...I would recommend the place to friends. Mehr

I was staying at the hotel to attend a friends wedding. The staff was very friendly and helpful however, they did lose my new makeup train case taking our luggage to the room, and it took them two and a half days and many calls to management to finally locate it. My room definitely needed to be overhauled it was very, very small and not at all like […] the pictures online, for two people we kept running into each other. The window view was of a brick wall but since I was really only sleeping in it for a few hours I didn't mind. The queen bed took up the entire room and it seemed comfortable, but I was so tired that a bed of nails might have felt good. It was a cold night and it was difficult to regulate the room temperature. The tiny attached bathroom had no heat in it, so you needed to keep the door shut to retain some heat. The room itself looked tired and a quite shabby. The lobby was very nice and the view is what you were paying for sensational sunrises with a marina backdrop it would be awesome in the summer. The sparse breakfast of cold muffins was dry and inedible and the coffee left much to be desired. The saving grace of the hotel is the spectacular view and it's location. Mehr

We did upgrade our room to the newer section of the hotel which is quite a bit larger. After that, it was wonderful!

The only downside to the Molly Pitcher is small room. I will gladly stay there again because I love everything else about this hotel. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the ding room has delicious food and beautiful views, the bar has a classic pub feel - dimly lit with comfy chairs, and the mattress and pillows were comfy ad our room had a pretty […] view of the Navesink River. Red Bank is a cute town and you can easily walk to other restaurants or stroll along the water front. Mehr

valet parking is not forced on you and there is free parking. rooms are very small and old fashioned heaters with no thermostat to set to a temperature.

We had a prepaid reservation. They stuck us in the tiniest room they have with two small beds and we were clerly a couple. I checked the reservation website later that night and king rooms were available so they obviously do not believe in upgrades. There was a black long hair in the tub and I am blonde. The breakfast is a joke. When you reserve through […] hotels.com it says breakfast included. Well the breakfast is on a small round table only one person can function at one time. It consists of a bread basket of tiny hard corn muffins and some coffee. Misleading. Mehr

The hotel rooms need a facelift. At least the room I was in. The price was right for a last minute visit to the area.

Thursday nights the hotel features a singer in the dining room -- who is not bad at all -- but the amplification would be appropriate for a huge stadium, not an intimate dining room. The food was good but we could not have any conversation above the sound system. We asked for it to be turned down and they said it was turned down to its lowest setting. […] It made for a very unpleasant evening and not at all good for business. Mehr

Built in 1928, the Molly Pitcher is a beautiful piece of architecture with a fine bar and friendly staff. Unfortunately, it seems like the maintenance plan ended shortly after the hotel's opening. On the exterior, the flaking paint and a tired appearance were briefly moderated by the glittering golden dome--yet not enough to make these attributes disappear […] completely. Our hallway had some water damage which was apparently being mediated by buckets and hoses. Not especially classy (or expected) for the price of the room. The room was fine, clean, but lacked a coffee maker and the trek to the lobby with its undersized breakfast table and mysterious muffins seemed longer than necessary. Inside the room, we tried to log on to the internet, and did. Unfortunately the speed of the connection was glacial at best. Dial-up may have been quicker. The oddest thing about the stay was the balcony. The persistent dripping of some spooky substance created a row of small stalactites that were interesting and disconcerting. Below, and perhaps as one with a basic knowledge of geology might expect, a large and creepy blob-like stalagmite was emerging from the grass. The bar is nice, the people are friendly, but the hotel appears to suffer from a general malaise and neglect of its appearance. For the money we spent, it was a let down. Mehr

Quaint and historic with a great view, cool bar and spectacular restaurant - and some of the most attentive staff ever experienced!

Over all the hotel was great. But, left the men's room by the pool go for three days without anybody fixing it??? Had to go back inside and up the stairs to use the bathroom.

A gracious presence in Red Bank, the Molly could use a bit of polishing in the area of overall convenience, i.e. no dining on beautiful outside deck (?!?), smallish rooms with marginally effective air conditioning. Overall pleasant and gracious with a good location, but a few well thought out changes would make it wonderful.

Stay at many hotels due to business. The location was good for what I needed, but was very disappointed in the room size and view. First off, the hotel was almost empty based on the amount of cars in the lot and activity in the hotel itself. I arrived later in the evening so it was passed the usual check in time. The satff was friendly and helpful. […] The room I was given was tiny to put it nicely. It was so small, the tv was located to the right of the bed since there was no room to put it at the foot of the bed. Bathroom was OK, but small as well. My main complaint was that I was given a room facing the parking lot and main road even though there was availability to face the river and away from traffic. This complaint was magnified by the fact that it was a hotel where you could actually open the windows. It was a beautiful spring night and the breeze was perfect for sleeping with the window open, but due to road noise, I had to close it and put on the AC. I would not go back based on the lack of basic customer service and the incredible small room sizes. Mehr

Staff was mostly new and getting ready for summer season - but not yet ready at time of stay.

we love the Molly Pitcher, however we were not happy with the room assigned. we reqyested to be moved and on the second day of our 5 day stay we were moved to a comfortable room.

I've read quite a few less than stellar reviews of this property and while it's certainly not a cutting edge, modern hotel, it is convenient to all the landmarks in Red Bank, the beds are comfortable and it's quaint and hassle-free in my humble opinion. If I had a bone to pick it would be echoing what others have said in terms of the rooms being quite […] small given the price point of the hotel, but I was seeing a concert at the Count Basie and spent very little time in the room aside from sleeping and changing. Love the free parking and the fact that you are given a good deal of privacy without the noise and staff intrusion that often marks busier hotels. If the rooms were priced $20 lower, I'd say it was a steal. Overall, the hotel met my needs. Mehr

very nice hotel- try and request a balcony room... with the river right behind, a cold drink is definitely the order of the day !!!! The restaurants in Red Bank are GREAT.... sit on the balcony, eat a good meal, and go see a show at the COUNT BASIE THTRE. everything is in walking distance !!!!

The hotel was very nice & the staff was courteous. The room was smaller then we expected & the TV was older with a grainy screen

The hotel is nice. The view and the Sunday Brunch is the best in NJ!!!! The TV was an antique.

Quaint, clean room. Room was small but served the purpose. Only issue was the inability to reach towels in the bathroom. I am only 5 foot tall and I needed a hangar to pull towels off the rack that was quite high.

Beautiful setting. Large, clean rooms. Great value. Outdated and old television with limited available programming. Good Sunday brunch.

Charming lobby and great view of the river. Our room was on the 4th floor but the elevator only went up to the 3rd floor, so we had to walk up the last flight of stairs. The room itself was tiny and and the bathroom was badly in need of renovation. The bathroom toiletries provided by the hotel (shampoo, body lotion, etc.) were made of cardboard. Both […] the bellboy and the hotel information packet in our room indicated that breakfast was served until 10:30 AM Sunday morning. When we came down for breakfast we were told that there was no Sunday breakfast, only a buffet, and that we should try the Duncan Donuts nearby. Very unprofessional! When my husband went out to have the valet bring our car he found a long line of people waiting for the valet. The front desk informed us that valet service does not begin until 11:00 AM but there was no sign to that effect and nobody bothered to go out and inform the long line of people waiting for their cars. One of our favorites in New Jersey. Lovely property, comfortable beds and a great restaurant. As good in the winter as it is in the summer.

I was supposed to have a King room and was given a room with a double bed. The room was so small that there was barely room to walk around. Was told that the room we were supposed to have was having something done to the carpet and there was nothing else they could do. It was a difficult situation because I was there for a funeral and the Repast was […] at that hotel. Would never stay there again. Mehr
