Ich habe zwei Nächte im Amari Watergate zum Abschluss meines Urlaubs verbracht. Das Hotel ist mit allen Annehmlichkeiten eines 4 Sterne Hotels ausgestattet und besticht durch seine sehr zentrale Lage. Tolles Frühstücksbuffet und freundlicher und schneller Service. Der Pool ist schön angelegt, allerdings ist es dort immer recht windig und das Wasser […] im Pool wirkt gegenüber der Lufttemperatur eher kühl. Wer von dem Getümmel auf den Straßen Bangkoks genug hat, kann in dem hauseigenen Pub abends noch einen Absacker nehmen. Die Preise für Essen und Trinken in den Hoteleinrichtungen (Poolbar, Restaurants, Pub) liegen auf durchschnittlichem Niveau eines 4 Sterne Hotels. Dafür erhält man aber auch einen freundlichen und zuverlässigen Service. Wer sich nicht um alles selber kümmern möchte, dem wird hier viel abgenommen. Mehr

Super Hotel, gute Lage gleich bei den grossen Einkaufszentren, nahe bei Skytrain und Airport-Express

It was a excellent stay at Amari Watergate Hotel. It is nicely located, opposite shopping malls, more important no nuisance or trouble of any sory. I recommend for stay with family. Breakfast with good variety. It was a enjoyable stay.

All O.K. exept, i ordered for a King bed, which they could not provide me & i had to be satisfied with 2 single beds.

Thats a better hotel to stay at bangkok....walking distance to more than 10 malls or USD 4 by taxi....breakfast perfect too...to airport taxi cost a 350THB....Room is clean and big and confortable.

Thank goodness for this hotel. I was in Bangkok for a few nights and we were lucky to have booked at this hotel prior to getting there. The city is congested with cars, motorcycles, and people so it was comforting to know we were staying in a hotel that was more peaceful. The accommodations are clean and there is great food within so don't bother going out to hunt for a great restaurant...you'll likely get lost and come back to eat at one of the restaurants inside the hotel. The level of service is good. Location is superb as it is right across Platinum Mall. One thing which is a hussle is there are no Free Wifi for the cost that you pay to stay there. a haven in the heart of Pratunam area. despite the poor sound insulation between rooms and the party in the next room, the Amari Watergate does not fail to the reputation of the AMARI chain. Breakfast buffet incredible, attentive service and a real pool in the heart of the city for an excellent price.

Good Central Hotel...friendly staff, Hotel clean and tidy, however the prices they charge in the hotel itself for meals and services are exhorbitant and far exceed the standard of the hotel...apart from that...would reccomend it.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Everything is tip top neat and tidy. The services in all sectors from the recep to the restaurants and to the house keeping crews etc were all very hospitable and friendly. This is not my first time staying at this hotel. Located closely to Sukhumvit. 5 minutes by taxi. Got a free upgrade to an executive room. Good clean room. Recommended by me.

nice hotel,verry comfertable bed,the bath room was really bad-looked and smelled like a publick bathroom but aside from that we enjoyed it allot and would go back!!!walking distance from big mall and shopping aria and 50 thb taxi ride from mbk and other shopping!!

Great location, convenience for shopping fanatics. Room was big and comfortable. My 2 years old son loves the room.

Amari watergate hotel is really awesome! not only of the super good location (located beisde partunum market & platinum mall), the room is very cozy and clean. got free wifi access within the hotel lobby. But i was alil dissapointed about the service rendered by some other service staff. i was enquiring about some information but unfortunately the hotel […] staff do not know the answer and instead of checking it for us, they just simply said they dont know. We were give 2 double beds when we requested for a king size bed when doing booking of the hotel. when we told them of this mistake, they asked us to bring our baggages down to the lobby and wait for the next available room which they dont know what time will the next room will be ready. We argued about this and in the end they gave us free upgrade to grand deluxe room as there were no other rooms (with king size bed) availale at that point of time. But this will not stop me from staying in this hotel again. Very good n nice hotel! Mehr

The hotel closed to shopping mall,food is good, staff is friendly. Services provided by hotel was really fixed everything you need.

I've stayed in a delux room with a pretty decent view of platinum mall and the city. Location : Good, but quite a walking distance to Siam Paragon , Center , Discovery , MBK etc Cleanliness : Overall the room was clean. The Sofa and carpet is a little worn out due to wear and tear i suppose. Bathroom was clean except for bath tubs where we found yellow […] stains and the shower heads had residue on them. There was an unfortunate occasion where we found a cockroach in our room crawling amongst our tooth brushes and make up brushes. Needless to say we were quite disgusted and requested for a clean up of the towels etc and had to throw away our brushes. Sadly no offer by the hotel was made to compensate nor replace our make up brushes which were quite expensive. Service : The staff are generally nice and understand the English language. Amenities : There is free Wifi in the lobby, a decent pool and a gym. The free DVD rental was a plus too. Mehr

I was staying on this hotel for 4 nights and traveling with my mom and my 6yr old daughter. During check-in time, my mother requested a double bed, however, the hotel only had double bed room in smoking floors which we rejected. Then, we got a twin-bed room in non smoking floor and the lady then gave me an extra bed for my daughter to sleep which was […] very nice. I have to say, I love the hotel's beds because they were very firm. Everyday after a long day out at hot shiny Bangkok, we were very glad to be back at the hotel and found the room was clean, and we had 4 complementary water bottles to drink. Unfortunately, on the day before our departure, when we came back to the hotel room, we only found 1 complementary water. I am not sure why they only gave us 1 bottle instead of 4. Since it was our last night, we were too tired to complain. Other than that, everything was perfect. The location is good, just across Platinum where shopping and foods are so good. Love Bangkok.. This Hotel is an oasis of calm and cool in a crazy city. Pool and leisure amenities great. Absolutely every taste catered for for meals. Watch out for the concessional tailors trading on the third floor. The one I chose was Newmans (the largest one) . Some of the workmanship was of poor quality and I was unable to use it.

It's a great place. Location is great and this hotel really is more like a 5 star hotel than a 4 star hotel. Pool is OK and they even have a finnish sauna! Only thing they could improve is upgrade their Wifi connections. Its lagging during the busy overs and the real speed estimate is 1 mega during day, 2,8 during night. They promise a 6 mega transfer […] but it's divided between users. (The harm was that it was quite a challenge to watch the IIHF Word Championship Ice hockey match 2011 Sweden vs. Finland (1-6!) I'd recommend the Amari Watergate to anyone who is visiting Bangkok for the first time. Its central location places you near the skytram, just across the street from Siam Center and within a 10-20 minute cab drive to the restaurants on Surkumvit Rd. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The major problem we ran into is with our reservation for a non-smoking […] room. Our room was on a non-smoking floor, but wreaked of smoke. Reception was helpful, and able to move us into only one other room with two double beds that they pushed together. Not ideal, but they tried their best, given the rest of the rooms were fully booked. Also the concierge makes sure the taxi's use their meter when driving guests to locations. Mehr

I was in Bangkok in May 2011 for a weekend break and chose Amari for its central location. The rooms are clean and fairly big. But that's where the list of positives ends 1. Location : While its centrally located, its not close to Sky Train, and is in the midst of the worst traffic gridlocks. Walking can be a hassle amidst all the street vendors and […] cab drivers most often dont want to go there because of traffic 2. AWFUL service : Our airport pick up didnt show up, during check in the staff had a different booking than what we booked through hotel.com; huge lines at check in that they are unable to service; expect wait times of upto TEN minutes for elevator, routinely forgot to place towels in the room after servicing, and oh, expect no help from the concierge. They refer you to tour desk (not helpful if you want to do the tours yourself) - and most likely the person will not be there at the desk. Overall, there are much better options in Bangkok than this - especially at this cost. Mehr

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the hotel. I must commend the hotel staff for their warm hospitality and friendliness. I will definately return to this hotel and recommend it to my family and friends

I'll start off with the bad; though close to the main malls and skytrain you need to navigate across a busy road and walk about 10 minutes, the elevators are insufficient for the size of the hotel (we had a 10-15 minute wait each morning). The good - everything else:-)

we booked one room for 3 people, also 3 people check in, of course pay the payment for 3. But it's amazing that our small room only has two single beds. We need to call the room service to ask for an extra bed. This hotel is not thoughtful at all.

Comfort and quality with great staff and a good buffet breakfast. Close to sevral shopping malls. Excellent money for value.

Overall, very good experience! I visit bkk almost every year. This is the best hotel i have stayed in so far, from every perspectives. Room size, cleanliness, location, staff friendliness, proximity to shopping n eateries. Just one feedback tho. For the total rates, inclu taxes n svc charges etc, bfast ought to have been provided. The master key console […] of one of my room came off on our first nite. This controls the power to the room. They hve to keep up with the maintenance tho. I have seen enough hotels in bkk which started off grand, but deteriorated over time. Amari Watergate better not fall into this category. It's still a great hotel at this moment. This hotel is relatively new and had few negatives. The employees were all competent and friendly, and the rooms were very nice. The neighborhood is full of bargain shopping places, and the better stores are not far away. Only 2 negatives. One is the price of drinks and nibbles at the various hotel venues, e.g., the $4++ cost of a glass of orange juice […] at the pool. hotel right in the shopping district of Pratunam market. Just opposite of Platinum mall. Walking distance to Siam Paragon where the Siam ocean world is located. Good service. Hotel gym was 1st class. In short Value for money.

Everything we wanted and then some - Luxurious accommodations, first class service, transportation from tuk-tuks to limosine service at the front door - or you could walk to shopping. The hotel had beautiful shops and good restaurants as well, and a fun happy hour by the pool. Exercise room and sauna and spa were very nice, too. Hotel was spotless and […] modern, but decor, entertainment and landscaping were Thai, and I appreciated feeling like I was in Thailand instead of in any anonymous chain hotel in any city. I only missed western, brewed coffee, but there are lots of Starbuck's, and the Amari Watergate has a bakery and "real" coffee shop right outside its front door. Because of traffic, we were told it would be 40 minutes to the airport, but it only took 20, and it was only mildly terrifying. If you are a nervous passenger, be prepared for three or four lanes of drivers on two lane roads, pedestrians and vendors walking down dividing lines and dodging vehicles, a few stray dogs and other impedimenta. Many, if not most, vehicles only have seat belts in the front seat. Vehicular travel in Thailand is an extreme sport. At the Amari, the concierge or porter's desk will help you identify the mode of transportation most suited to your peace of mind. It really IS the "Land of Smiles." Mehr
