The whole hotel needs up dating immediately. The staff is nice and accomidating. The hotel shuttle saved us a lot of money in taxis. It is the cheapest parking too. For Breakfast waffles are the best thing there. And the hotel overlooked the lake. So o overall if hotel was updated it would be a great hotel.

A little dated, but in a great location, on the lakefront north of downtown and the Milwaukee art Muwseum. Staff was friendly and efficient.

At the end of my stay they slipped a bill under the door for parking in the hotel garage which costs me $10 per day. This was never disclosed to me and when I ask them to take the charge off they would not do it they just claimed it was disclosed. There are better cheaper hotels in near the Bay Shore the neighborhood is bad with few good places within […] walking distance to eat the hotel resteraunt is bad. Mehr

We had a wonderful experience with wonderful staff. Our room was comfortable and had a great view of both the lake and the fabulous art museum. Would love to stay here again. Great food 1 block away at Osterio De Mondo and the Knick. We'll be back again.

The hotel was old, not really clean, sub par.

*The hotel is conveniently located, but it is in poor condition. *The hotel is old and the rooms are in serious need of a remodeling. *The rooms were very cold and they would not turn the heat on. *The sheets had holes in them like they had been bitten by something. *The extra fee for parking in that lot is ridiculous it should be included in the […] stay. The service and quality was very good. The rooms were clean and the staff was very accomodating. There was also a free breakfast which was nicely done and convenient. I would recommend this hotel when visiting Milwaukee.

We stayed during the Summerfest weekend, so it was pretty packed with people for that, some weddings, and other family gatherings. The location is great, although the place needs a freshing-up as the carpets and hallways and bathrooms are quite dated---clean though. BUT you pay $10 to park in the adjoining garage and the spaces are quite small and difficult […] to maneuver . Try not to get in late as there is one wall where people have to park behind others and leave their keys with front desk as first row is trapped! When full, it's a nightmare to get around! Mehr

Hotels are over priced in MIlwaukee compared with the last few years. You don't get much for your money. A mediocre breakfast, a rougher hotel than I prefer, and a fair hike from downtown. Other facilities, while much nicer cost significantly more.

Do not bring a car here. Worst parking lot I have ever seen and then to charge me for "parkIng" there. You can not even drive a car around the garage it is so close quarters. I ended up having to drive my rental car on a grassy patch just to get into what they called a parking spot.

Within walking distance to all downtown attractions. Clean with helpful staff

We had mixed feelings about our stay. The rooms were clean, staff was friendly. The heat/ac unit in the room was not working. They gave us a fan. We requested a refrigerator and mic; neither was in the room when we arrived. We parked in their lot under the ramp. When we left my car had white drippings all over it! I had to scrap it off my windsheild […] and rear window; still hadn't found how to get off the paint of my car! The shuttle service to downtown was a great bonus though. Mehr

The front desk people were absolutely wonderful. Location was great. We able to walk to local brewery tour. Plenty of places to eat within a few blocks. Disappointed in the bar located in the hotel but not affiliated with the hotel. Dress code, no caps or hoodies.

the room was smaller than expected. the bathroom did not have an adequate for storing things. the room was clean. the staff was polite.

This hotel was convenient, comfortable, and what I expected for the price. The employees are absolutely wonderful. Whatever was lacking from a luxury stand point was certainly made up by the intelligent and welcoming staff. The only problem we had was with the heating/cooling system in the room. The heater worked fine but when we tried to turn on the […] AC because it was getting too hot and stuffy, it continued to blow out warm air. Maybe they turn off the AC in the winter? One word of warning, for those ordering dinner to be delivered to the hotel, ... avoid the Pizza Shuttle. The food tasted like it been burnt, frozen, thawed, and then recooked to the point of being burnt again. Charred cardboard with a small amount of runny marinera sauce, basically. The hotel was virtually booked to capacity. We needed some extra towels. We called the front desk, and in less than 5 minutes a staff member was at our door with the extra towels.

There were not enough parking spaces in the garage, and the 'rooftop' parking had no 'out', so I had to back out around other cars - both parked and in motion - to get back down the narrow ramp to the garage. They should have valets - especially when parking is an additional charge! Housekeeping failed to close our door the whole way after cleaning, […] so we came back that evening to find the door ajar. They failed to clean the coffee pot, making us wonder if there were other oversights. The staff became increasingly less accommodating when the capacity increased. I understand it isn't their fault, but they need better guidance and provisional oversight by management. The fitness room (and other places) need some improvements as well. The biggest bonus was the shuttle that the hotel operated to drive guests where they wanted to go - as long as it was within a certain limited radius. Mehr

The Comfort Inn Lake Shore looks a little bit like a converted hospital from the outside but the rooms are comfortable and have everything you'd expect. The best thing about this location is the great views from the roof-top deck. It's open to everyone and worth a trip up the elevator. Also, it's near all of the attractions near the waterfront. The hotel could definitely use an update and some TLC, but the staff was excellent and the rate seems reasonable for the location. Convenient parking arrangement, easy to get in and out of. The breakfast was pretty decent (yummy hot waffles), and the location was certainly good. Wireless internet was painfully slow. Overall, we would stay here again […] for any stops through Milwaukee. great location, the free shuttle was very convenient and on time, however the rooms were so small, you had to go outside just to change your mind, the bathroom was only 3 foot square, no vanity, very inconvenient, rooms and bath needed updating, the staff was friendly and helpful, the parking ramp hard to navigate-real tight sqeeze

Only challenge we had was that I was told on the phone "yes" we have a shuttle - I did not confirm that it was a "courtesy" shuttle. So when I called from the airport inquirying how to catch the shuttle, I was informed it was just a standard shuttle and it was $13/person per trip. I was very disappointed and will learn to be much more direct.

well it was my wife and two kids. seven year old and a 4 month old. Asked for a crib and the lady at the counter said its a fire hazzard we cant let you have one. So then why do you offer cribs then. the next night different person. I asked fdor a crib, this person SURE I will have one sent up to your room asap. so my four month old the first night […] slept on 2 comfroters on the floor. Not to happy about that. Overall stay was good and I would stay again. Mehr

The desk clerk was patient and helpful to us. We enjoyed a nice walk around the area based on his suggestions. We enjoyed the old fashioned "hotel" feeling of the building and therefore had no problem overlooking what might be viewed as deficiencies by some.

I've stayed here in years past. Easy to get too if you're visiting the art museum or Milwaukee Fest on the lake, both walking distance from hotel.

The parking situation was a battle of the fittest (or smallest car) and the staff did not inform me that it would cost $10 for the convenience of getting parked "in". Room had a cobweb in it and was not very soundproof. We easily walked to the Summerfest (Marcus) grounds and felt safe doing so.

I was comfortable and the hotel was well maintained. Base music from the lounge was audible into the night.
