"close to conference at Hilton"
It was fine. VERY nice front desk personnel. Room clean and a bit more spacious than I had anticipated. Bathroom clean, but very small and simple. All in all, more than I expected for the price I paid.

We were retourning home from our trip and this was a nice hotel. The bed and breakfast was really good, very clean, love the desk and chair. "Good just to sleep"
This Hotel is not to clean but is ok if you just would like to spend at night or probably two. The breakfast was a regular american breakfast and free, so was OK. The location was great but I believed they need to improve in maintenance.

For the price, it was a clean, comfortable room for a couple of nights. Not fancy, but staff was friendly, and it was a clean place to stay. I wasn't impressed with the free breakfast, but that was my only issue.

The beds were clean, but the bathroom was dingy. My pre-teen son remarked that he could do better cleaning a bathroom. It was in a loud neighborhood. Only one machine worked in the "fitness center." My mother and I had a very pleasant stay at the LaQuinta Inn and would highly recomend it to others planning a trip to Birmingham Al. It was not in a conveinent location for where I needed to go from the hotel however; I had to pay a high fare for a cab everytime I had to go downtown.

I booked my hotel through Expedia and we were suppose to have 2 queen beds and a min fridge in our room however we had 2 full beds I which I had to sleep with my two grand daughters needless to say we did not get a lot of sleep and there was no fridge at all in the rooms

I was going to Birmingham for a concert with some friends. We didn't need anything fancy since we were there only for oe night. I was very surprised it was clean and the room was comfy. I always bring Lysol and Febreze just in case. I did have to spray my friends room due to a smoky smell. Hall way did not smell. I am also a preson that reads all of […] he reviews to get a good idea about the hotel. Well someone said that the Bar next door was loud. I was waiting for the noise but nothing. Like the title says, this was a good cheap hotel, my room was clean, well there were a few cobwebs in a corner of the bathroom and the bathroom could use a little up-dating, however for the cost per night I feel I got a fair deal. Stay there all the time on business and pleasure. Pet friendly. staff nice. Breakfast not bad at all. Near a ton of restaurants and great shopping. Guess I am saying it is a good value.
The room was clean enough, however the hotel is very old and outdated, the carpet was stained, the hallways and doorways badly needed some paint. TV didn't work at first, but front desk was very helpful and polite and remedied this. Employees very nice, facility dirty and grungy once inside the hallways. Breakfast was less than mediocre.

Would not recommend. No towels in room on second day. A bottle of cleaner was left in the room on the counter. The gap on the bottom of the door was so great I had to put a towel in front of it to block the light from coming into the room. Very run down condition.

"Loud Bar"
This hotel is next to a bar that plays loud music. The base was annoying so I had to sleep with ear plugs. Hotel not bad. Breakfast not up to standards of other La Quintas I have stayed in. It was okay though.

"Roach Motel"
Greeted by a live roach in the bathroom. Disgusting. 'Sealed' soap had hair and dirt on it after unwrapping. Hotel smells gross, A/C in room had been turned off and room was musky. Only one light in the room worked, tv was very slow to change channels. Beds were uncomfortable. Stay somewhere else if you are in Birmingham.

Very disappointed there was no pool, especially since most of the LaQuinta we have stayed with have had one. The room was nice, a bit musty when we first walked in, but it went away once we turned on the air conditioning.

The hotel was a very "old" motel that was purchased by La Quinta, according to the desk clerk. The offensive smell in the rooms (we rented two rooms) was so unbearable, I had to open the window and run the ac to improve the smell. I perfumed my pillow to be able to sleep and when I arrived home, I had to rewash all of my clothing just because it was […] in the smelly room. I should have looked more carefully because being a La Quinta, I assumed there would be a pool, but there was not. That was my mistake. Any other time we stay in Birmingham, I will definitely stay somewhere else. The room gave me a headache and made me sick to my stomach. I would have moved to another hotel, but I purchased the hotel on-line and it was prepaid! There should be relocation option for bookings into an inhabitable room. Mehr

This was a good hotel really nice location, but breakfast had nothing to choose from and that really made evveryone there really upset and hungry. There was no coffee made at the time and every other person that stayed there was not happy either. The was room was nice, need to have more towels. If you are traveling this hotel has a great location off of the highway. I would not choose this for a vacation. It is not a resort. It is perfect for access to shopping and the highway. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. Very fare price. The staff were all pleasant.

There's nothing fancy about the place, but it was affordable and comfortable. The staff is friendly, and it's in a nice location for food and shopping. It's my second time staying there, and I'd probably stay there again. Too bad it doesn't have a pool.

"Okay overnight stay"
I was a little disappointed this go around with staying at this hotel since I have stayed a couple times within the last year when I was just passing through. This time I found that it was more disappointing. The coffee pot was broken. There was not a drain stopper in the bathtub. The room was clean upon arrival. It was a decent stay for overnight but […] I would not stay more than that. Also, when I alerted the clerk at the front desk when I checked out about the broken coffee pot and no drain stopper for the bathroom she did not apologize or nothing for the inconvenience. Mehr
