Die Lage ist wirklich top und ganz schick ist das Hotel auch. Was mir allerdings nicht gefallen hat, war die Sauberkeit im Zimmer (es wurde offensichtlich nicht gesaugt) und das spartanische Fruehstueck (kein Kaese oder Aufschnitt). Ausserdem ist es wirklich laut und daher fuer Ruhesuchende nicht zu empfehlen.

Das Hotel liegt in unmittelbarer Nähre zum Un ion Square und ist idela für einen Trip in der Stadt. Man ist schnell überall und kann San Fran richtig gut erkunden. Die hygienischen Verhältnisse waren sehr in Ordnung, das Frühstück war zwar vorhanden, aber sehr amerikanisch.....es empfiehlt sich hier, Kaffee zu trinken (der war nämlich sehr gut) und […] eventuell Toast mit hartem Ei, mehr aber nicht, lieber bei Starbucks dann gut frühstücken... Wir waren bei unserer Rundreise durch Californien am Anfang und am Ende der 3 Wochen in diesem Hotel und die Lage ist perfekt um von dort aus alles zu Fuß zu erkunden, Geschäfte direkt auf der Straße und nur 5 Minuten bis Chinatown und 30 Minuten zu Fuß zur Fishermans Wharf. Super Bus-und Bahnanbindung. Frühstück geht gar nicht aber das ist bei den […] Amis ja normal. Man kann sich einen Kaffee trinken und geht dann besser zu Starbucks oder Boudin. Auf dem Zimmer kein Fön, kann man sich aber an der Rezeption besorgen. Personal sehr hilfsbereit. Es gibt bestimmt günstigere Hotels aber die Lage ist wie gesagt super und die Zimmer sehr modern und New York Style. Mehr

Sehr schönes, modernes Hotel im Herzen San Franciscos. Die Lage ist für einen Städtetrip perfekt. In direkter nähe zu Chinatown und zur Powell St. Cable Car Linie.

Nobles Hotel mitten in San Fran., nur schwer zu finden. Der Parkplatz ist eine Straße weiter...aufpassen...lecker breakfast, tolles Zimmer, alles passte.

Perfekte Lage in Gehweite der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel (Busstation direkt vor dem Haus, Metro und BART etwa 5 min zu Fuß). Parkmöglichkeiten gleich gegenüber bzw. in unmittelbarer Nähe in zwei Parkhäusern. Strassenseitige Zimmer etwas laut und heiß (wir hatten tolles Wetter!)

Das Hotel liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe vom Union Square und Chinatown. Bushaltestelle vor dem Hotel und Cable Car um die Ecke. Kleines, modernes und geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Zimmer. Tolles Frühstück (für amerikanische Verhältnisse) mit Bagel, Toast, Joghurt, Müsli und Obst.Die Lounge im 2. Stock ist sehr gemütlich und hat jeden Abend geöffnet - gute […] Drinks und Stimmung. Preiswertes Parkhaus befindet sich vis-à-vis vom Hotel (Sutter/Stockton St.). Mehr

Don't have much to say: just really great! Enjoyed everyday/night and stayed there for 8 nights. I had one worry, which was the noise -because of its central location- but actually that was fine. So I would strongly recommend this hotel! The only bad experience I had there was at the very (trendy/hip) bar, where the staff, incl manager, were quite unprofessional/rude: […] because we had waited 25mn to get 3 drinks, we decided to leave and asked to get our credit card back. It took us a while to get it back, and we had to face a very aggressive (male) manager and (female) waiter. They should have said they were sorry for the wait instead of making it so difficult! Anyway, spend your money in another bar if you want to have a pleasant evening! It's a shame because the place looked really cool, great band playing too! Mehr

Great location next to Union Square and shopping. Hotel was clean and the service was great...they let us check in early. Room was small but unique and functional. No view from our room and there was some noise from outside early in the morning. Breakfast was one of the better free hotel breakfasts that we have had. Price was reasonable. Literally steps from my conference hotel (Grand Hyatt) at a fraction of the cost ... renovations still taking place, but even with some way to go, the original charm of the place can be seen and appreciated. A real find if you're looking for value and mostly only need a place to sleep. But if you're looking for luxury, this isn't the place for you.

The Crescent was a great deal - the room was much larger than I expected, and the staff were superb. They seemed genuinely interested in making my stay enjoyable, greeting me by name, asking about my day, and providing great suggestions for tours/restaurants. If I am ever in San Francisco, I will stay at the Crescent.

Overall, we were happy with our stay, mainly because we didn't have to spend much on accomodation. We are usually used to staying in more expensive hotels but did not want to do so in San Francisco as we were not there for long. We were happy with the total cost of the accomodation, and if cost is a major factor then you will be happy with the Crescent, […] you get a bed, personal space from other guests, a bathroom, toilet and a limited continental breakfast in the morning. WiFi was available, but we found it unreliable at times. Other than that, do not expect a bellhop or porter or a fully functioning and welcoming concierge service. You do get what you paid for, but in this case, it was exactly what we needed. Mehr

Although my employer is quite generous with lodging compensation, I wanted to find something cost effective with a decent location. The Crescent was fine. Nothing fancy, but the staff were friendly and accommodating. It's an old building and a bit run down, but very typical very the older boutique hotels in SF. The room was a bit cramped and lacked […] a desk area where one could sit down with my laptop. Also, the neighbors in the apartment next door appeared to adopt some pigeons as pets, so I could hear them coo'ing all through the night. That sucked. However, the bar in the building is fantastic. A bit of a hipster haven, but a great selection of craft scotches and bourbons. The surrounding small business were great too - Chinese tea shop, mini-mart, and a drycleaner who pressed my shirt in 10 minutes for $2. Mehr

Hotel is in great location, near to BART and other public transit; also near shops, restaurants & delis. Breakfast adequate, friendly staff. Plan to stay there again.

Had a room on 7th floor...., large walk in shower, decent views and very quiet ! The staff were very helpful and accommodating !

Located in union square, loved the homey decor, did not feel like I was in a hotel room but rather a bedroom. Price for the location was an unbeatable choice.

We stayed at the Crescent San Francisco for two nights during our visit to California. The location of the hotel was great--situated in Union Square and only a few blocks from the Powell BART Station, which made travel in and out of the city with luggage very easy. The hotel itself was beautiful on the inside-- rooms were beautifully decorated and very […] clean. Hotel lobby was very clean and the staff was very nice. The only complaint that we had, which was not the fault of the hotel, was that our room was situated on the backside of the hotel and we were awoken early both mornings by construction going on in the alley out back. Again, not the fault of the hotel. Next time, we would just ask for a room on the front side of the hotel to ease the noise level in the early morning hours. We would stay there again and would recommend it for your next trip to San Francisco! Mehr

This hotel is on the edge of Chinatown, and it's only a short walk through that to North Beach, so the location is really excellent. It's also just north of Union Square and all the shopping, if you're into that sort of thing. The rooms are a little older, but we had flatscreen TVs so that was modern. No refrigerator, no ice machines, they had to bring […] you ice, which was fine (please remember to tip the guy/gal). The room we had actually used to be two rooms joined by a shared bathroom, so it was pretty huge, which was nice. More room than we really needed, but it was nice that we had a TV in each room and one person could sleep without being disturbed by the other... HOWEVER, the main problem was that we got a room right next to the elevator, and we could hear the BING! of the elevator coming to our floor, or even the two below it, ALL NIGHT LONG. And we had a white noise generator going!! We were even on the top floor, you'd think it would be a little more quiet, but no dice. If it wouldn't have been for that, it would have been a pretty good stay, overall. However, I'd rather sacrifice the location for a little more basic comfort next time. Mehr

I chose this hotel over one in the wharf, because it was half the price. And after staying here, I'm glad I did. It's in a great location (on the edge of union square and chinatown). Plus its only about 10min from the wharf. I would stay here again.

This hotel was really nice! Sort of trendy with a nice bar with live music sometimes. Rooms were very nice, first I was a bit chocked over the size of the room since it was quite small! But the bed was really comfortable and it was clean and fresh with modern decorations! One thing that could have been better was that when people were walking or talking […] in the corridors it was real noisy! The breakfast was quite dull, we ate out on diners, which is to recommend! The location was great, close to all the stores and BART station and to China town. Overall a great experience at this hotel! Mehr

The hotel is one of these old places in SF where the rooms are very small and the elevator is ancient. I was OK with that, but I was not OK with the noise directly outside my room (hotel employees carrying something noisy in a stairwell) that woke me up all three days I was there between 6 and 6:30am. I got inconsistent numbers of towels from the maid […] service and my friend who stayed down the hall got no towels at all one day (as in, they came in and removed all his towels without replacing them). The continental breakfast was just OK. The location looks sketchy from the outside, although the hotel looks nice when you walk in. Also, on the positive side, the bar on the second floor is a nice place to hang out. Mehr

Location was great since the 4 of us do not mind walking. Only 2 blocks from China Town. We enjoyed walking through China Town to get to North Beach and all the Italian resturants. Also only a 1 1/2 blocks from Union Square.

Great location n convent to all major shopping n restaurants n attraction

We loved our stay at the Crescent Hotel! Unique and hip...very comfortable. Great location, within walking distance of everywhere we were going. We appreciated the special treatment...given a suite instead of the regular room we had planned as it was my husband's birthday. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

On unexpected overnight layover at Charlotte airport, I was seeking something a bit nicer than the 2 star hotels near the airport. I found the Plaza about 15 minutes away by cab. It was listed as a 3 star, but in reality was nowhere close to that. It has run down horribly -- peeling paint, stains on carpet, deteriorated caulk in bathroom. I had a great stay at the Crescent. The hotel has a great location and was well-priced. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in hub of San Francisco.

I've stayed in the Crescent Beverly Hills for weeks at at time and loved it so decided to try the SF location. Pleased with it. Rooms are great. Location is great. Will stay there again.

The hotel was modern and very clean. It is also conveniently situated close to everything in the city, however our room was so small we could only just get our luggage in the room and the only place I was able to open and access my bag was in the door way to the bathroom. There wasn't even enough room to move my bag from this space. We had to step over […] the bag every time we went in to the bathroom. There is a lounge/nightclub in the hotel which there was not mention of when booking. Unfortunately it was on the 2nd floor and we were placed on the 3rd floor directly above it and the walls were practically shaking from the music until 1am every morning! The breakfast was OK, but the tables were full of empty dirty bowls and plates etc that had not been cleared away and every morning we had to ask for bowls. The reception staff were also not overly helpful. Mehr

The service staff at the front desk were very antisocial, and couldnt give me directions to the BART. The breakfast was just ok. I was not a fan, this hotel did not look like the photos on hotel.com.

My only concern was that one night we could hear the people next to us for awhile. I know you can not control that type of thing.

This hotel is okay. Booked a suite for 4 people but they would only give me 2 keys. I had to request the extra towels and the blanket/sheets for the foldout couch for the suite so that was disappointing. It was clean though and a block and a half from Union Square.

Overall the hotel was very convenient with its location. The only drawback was that the room was small and overlooked a brick wall. The lift was also very old and took ages to work.

very clean great location but the room was the size of a walk in closet.

The staff was great, and welcoming. And loction was right next to china town, and walking distance from the main part of union square. Only thing that was not up to my standards was the size of the rooms, there really small, but I can't really complain as it was still comfortable.

Was first given the room on the 3rd floor that is located directly above the bar and the pounding bass beat. After explaining that I had a job interview in the morning, they were willing to move me up a floor to the back of the building, which was quiet until my neighbors got back to their room and then I realized the walls were paper thin.. To top […] it off, at about 5 a.m. the garbage trucks showed up.. If you want to party and don't care about sleep, it's a good location. Mehr

Nothing fancy, but location great near Union Square and LOTS of great shopping. Staff not overly friendly, but was ok overall.

Excellent hotel for the price. 2 blocks from Union Square and directly across the street from one of the cheapest and best parking garages in SF. Room was well appointed and extremely clean. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for the last 3 nights of our holiday. The hotel is pretty cool, and is in a good location. It had a pretty cool bar on the second floor and breakfast was a decent selection. The only downer for the stay was the girl on reception, who will remain nameless, who I found to be really hard work. As much as i smiled and tried to be friendly, her […] attitude to us when we asked her things was very much like she had better things to do, she wasn't particularly amiable. To top it off she 'forgot' to book us a cab to the airport when we asked many hours ahead of time. The rest of the staff were brilliant and really helpful. Mehr

Place has a cool vibe that attracts mostly young audience, but there were all ages represented during my stay. Surprisingly quiet rooms with the exception of the previously noted garbage trucks. Could use more light in the hallways. Good bargain price.
